The food, service and atmosphere was fantastic

I popped in for a cup of tea after shopping, which was offered to me on the house.  I couldn't resist the sigara borek. My portion was generous and delicious. I've shared the meza with a friend previously which was tasty and filling. Well worth visiting as the staff are friendly and the food is very good.

A great place to have a meal out,and reasonably priced too.

Ordered a coffee and they were busy so it was forgotten about. Was very kindly given the coffee for free to make up for it.

Food: Food was good with the exception of the lamb ribs and chops. Lamb ribs were large strips of pure fat on a bone with the chops being under-seasoned and overcooked. Atmosphere: The restaurant was freezing cold in which we had to wear our coats whilst dining. Service: Waitress was lovely, fast service and attentive.

Omg! The food is soo good. Came to Exeter for few days and this is the only place I eat dinner and breakfast. Original Turkish kebabs . Staff is so friendly, and the place is very clean. What could I ask more!

Bir mezuniyet töreni için geldik Tesadüfen girdiğimiz ama tavsiye edilen yer olarak çok beğendim. Unutulan bir ikramı Tatlı ikramı ile unutturdular :). Today we had the worst experience in this restaurant. Firstly: the waiter’s treatment of us and giving some comments from time to time about the children and the way they sit!! Secondly: The food that was served was old and dry

Very slow service. Took 1 hour to prepare what was supposed to be done in 5 minutes. The food was cold when served.

Best Lamb Donner I've ever had. Fresh salad, lots of tasty lamb and all served in a fresh bread pocket.

I can respect that it was lunch rush and you had a lot of orders but I made one meal order not even a platter, I had to stand by the counter for 45 mins and not even acknowledged. I may sound impatient, but it's a bit too far when people that came after me are eating and finishing entire meals and I don't even get the thing I ordered. I left, it's fine keep the money. I heard good things about the place, but I hope I never have to come here again.

I have been her for few times all good but this time it’s very bad I got a peace of plastic in the rice and the way management responded is not acceptable really disappointed

You can watch the food being prepared and cooked. They were happy to remove two of the ingredients from my pizza to suit my requirements. There is nice music playing in the restaurant, and when the food came it was delicious, a real treat. Very friendly service.

Great food for all occasions including an epic late night snack. Best chicken and chips in Exeter easily. Fresh salad and tasty sauces. Mixed grill is banging.

if i could give six stars… i would. flawless performance from efe. kebab really hit the spot. been clubbing and all i wanted was a kebab. will be returning asap. i live 120 miles away but that is no great problem when i can get a kebab as delicious as this for a small commute. love the enthusiasm from the servers too. all in all a 10/10 experience. will come again.

Amazing food. Meals can appear pricey but are delicious and substantial. We(3) had the special and have supper, now, as well. And they have wine- which we didn‘t know☹️! Gentlemen, Teşekkür ederim!

OMG. My wife ordered a few different kabab trays and kids meals last night. Its the first time we have been there since moving to crediton 10yr ago. I think i can honestly say, this is the best food ive had since moving here. Tasty, portion size was amazing, this place is a bucket list visit. And will now be our monthly treat. I really cant speak highly enough. You seriously have to try this place.

1st time eating in, but always the choice for late night eats. Was warmly welcomed in from peering through the window. Staff were all attentive, food was great and nothing was too much trouble. Kitchen and practices look clean and good. Bread was out of this world!! In my top 3 eats in Exeter

This place used to be delicious but tonight not. The meat was like charcoal and fatty. The waitress kept messing up are order. Tried charging us for things we didn’t get. Very expensive but not satisfying unfortunately

As a Turkish individual, I know what proper Turkish food should look, smell, and taste like, and I'm deeply disappointed to say that Efes Grill failed to meet even the most basic of those standards. My friends and I ordered four lamb meat doner and one chicken doner wrap, anticipating a taste of home. However, what we received was a disgrace to Turkish cuisine. It seemed as if the staff had intentionally selected the fattiest parts of the meat, serving us a meal that was not just unappetizing but outright offensive. If it were possible to give zero stars, I wouldn't hesitate to do so for this experience. Efes Grill may be advertised as a Turkish kebap shop, but the food served is a far cry from anything you'd find in Turkey. Allow me to warn fellow food enthusiasts, especially those who appreciate authentic Turkish cuisine, to think twice before dining here. In fact, I'd even go as far as to say that buying a sandwich from Tesco would be a much better idea. Rating: ☆☆☆☆☆ (If possible, 0 stars)

First time dinners today at lunchtime. Staff explained the menu and were attentive. The food was excellent, I had mix shish , my wife the lamb chops, fantastic, added to that a large salad, ample bread and dips, great. What wasn’t so great unfortunately was the one toilet which needed a good clean, a makeover and a towel, shame, will be back though.

Bought chicken shawarma twice, and chips. The shawarma lacked pickles and the chicken was rubbery. The chips were really well-seasoned.

This was my first experience in a real Turkish restaurant. All I had known were the Turkish fast food kebab places and this a whole different league. The waiter recommended a reasonably spicy kebab dish whose name I forgot (Anar? 🤦) but the flavour and quality of the meat, accompanied of rice, tomato and a sweet chili, I will not. They also serve bread and chili and garlic sauces. The experience is beautiful. The Turkish beer is quite good (2 will get you a bit high) and the tea is lovely. The owner is a very nice chap. You know you have to pay for a service but kindness can't be paid.

I got a falafel; it was very delicious. The staff are very friendly. Plus, the price is reasonable. Definitely recommend it.

Let’s just start by saying the good thing: the only good thing that there was, was that the food was nice… however on the other hand, the tables weren’t wiped probably so we had to wipe it ourselves and the wipe was near enough black. Then we asked for coke and they gave us the glass coke without a glass to pour it in so we had to ask for it.. and the glasses were not washed properly to the point you could see marks and other drinks that was poured in them before. The staff wasn’t friendly and they did no drinks by hand like lemonade. We had a discount of 20 quid because of our dissatisfaction and because we didn’t eat all the food as some meat wasn’t cooked properly.

Fabulous flavours at a very reasonable price. Tasty salads and sides and well prepared meats that are tender. Thoroughly recommended.

The best mixed grill I've ever had, the lamb ribs are unbelievably well flavoured. Everything was seasoned amazingly, could have done with a little more salad. Mixed grill took a while to make but was well worth the wait. I'd highly recommend and will definitely be eating here again.

Absolutely ridiculous. The quality of the food is quite bad and the prices are extremely high. For £18, I could go and get some top quality fish or some steak. Even the hanging kebab at the Botanist is £13. So in terms price, a massive 0. More importantly, for Turkish standards, the food in this restaurant is mocking the cuisine of the country. Efes needs to make some significant changes. You are not a luxurious restaurant, so put your prices accordingly!

Was looking for somewhere to eat and obliviously stepped inside only to be transported to Türkiye. Food blew me away and was deliciously cooked on a charcoal grill. Shame that I don’t live in Exeter anymore otherwise I’d always eat here. Also try their dessert menu, yum!

I have been to Efes quite a number of times and each time I have loved the food. The quantity is amazing and the salad bowls that they offer are really fresh and tasty. The prices are well set in consideration with the quantity of food that they give. It's a really nice place to be if you're looking for some Turkish kebabs and are really hungry.

Far away from the real Turkish restaurants

Been in there twice now . I had the mixed grill the first time. It was a bit overcooked The second time I had the lamb ribs, they were better 😋.

Always such a wonderful surprise when we come here. Cheap and cheerful but the food quality is superb. From the tasty (£1) Turkish bread basket, to the baba ganoush dip (a big plate!), falafel, kofte, everything was delicious, hot and quickly served. We will be back again and again. Really authentic and such great value.

Just ordered 2 mix raps. Absolutely disgusting me and my friend put it to the bin, lamb donner was was very bad had some kind of veins and fat around it. Message to the owner, please change this lamb meat because is not possible to eat it. I won't come back there any more until new meat will be provided.

Very popular Turkish restaurant, and you can see why. Proper chicken and lamb donner/shawarma and great food in general! You get free bread with a tzatziki and some kind of tomatoe chilli dip (not that spicy, just a kick) included. But I ordered a lahmacun as a starter which was a nice addition to my main meal (the mixed shish) and I was full. My 2 friends ordered a Efes Special for 2 people and even they couldn't finish it (tooked the rest home, don't waste food). Best end the meal with a nice Turkish tea or coffee. Customer service is great, hard working, happy, and can give a joke haha. Been here twice once on my own and the other with friends. We all enjoyed it here. Will come again.

Love this place and the staff are so warm and welcoming. The food is to die for, the lavish bread is a must with the garlic msyo dip and chilli sauce. Regular date nights here . Thank you guys for always accommodating us 🙂

Fantastic and authentic food, great service!

This is a great turkish restaurant located on sidewell street in Exeter, the food is absolutely fantastic and they usually offer student discounts as well if you are a student don't forget to mention that. The place is a bit small and the staff could do a better job at being a little bit more cordial. Service is quick and the food is delicious, they also offer some wines and spirits to compliment your meal. Nice place for a date or even to hangout with friends and family

Had a chicken wrap from here last night, all I've got to say is that it was the best thing I have ever eaten, absolutely delicious.

Tasty Turkish food in Exeter. Lahmacun and Adana Kebap were delicious, same as I had in Turkey. The spicey salad called Ezme was very hot but wonderful.

I really enjoy Efes Grill. The food is great and well priced, staff are ok - generally nice, but always busy which is a good sign. A very relaxed casual place, I often visit and get sharer platter - just takes the deckon out of what to get, just have a bit of everything. Has an authentic feel, nice and down to earth. If you are near by definitely worth popping in for a causal meal.

Went with a group - the sharing meals were great and the food came out over a period which made for a nice evening. Highly recommended and I thought excellent value for money.
