I stayed at this student accommodation during my time at uni, and I can't speak highly enough of the experience. The location is conveniently near many shops, and next to Exeter Central train station as well as just opposite a bus stop, making it easy to travel and get to uni. The facilities are always clean and well-maintained, so very comfortable to live here. What truly sets this accommodation apart is the staff, especially Iris, who has been exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Her dedication to ensuring all residents feel at home and welcomed is remarkable. Due to the outstanding service and environment, I have rebooked and stayed here for 3 consecutive years. Highly recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a great place to live during their university years!!

A great accommodation to head back to when you're trying to relax and have your own time after a busy week, day, time. Lovely and helpful staff. And very strategic when it comes to location. Right next to a Coop and near a bus station. Only a couple of minutes walk to either city center or guild hall

I have been living at Queen Street Studios with my friends for more than 3 years now. It is an amazing place to stay—quiet, clean, comfortable studios, and super safe due to the staff servicing this site. I just wanted to say thank you for all the moments and time dedicated to us, Val! The manager of this place is a special person; I don't think I could meet someone so dedicated to her staff and all residents living here. All staff is very efficient in responding quickly to all our needs. Highly recommended!

Overall, this is a very comfortable living environment. The sound insulation on both sides of the room is very good, and the facilities in the house are clean and undamaged. From the time I checked in until I am about to move out, the two reception staff have been very friendly to me. They have solved almost all my problems and greet me enthusiastically every time they see me. To be honest, I really don't understand why many people complain about the staff's bad attitude, because I have never encountered them having a rude attitude towards me. The reason I chose this studio is because it is very close to the city center and the train station, and it is also not far from the university. I have had a great year here and will recommend new friends to stay here if I have the opportunity in the future.

So, my partner and I have been staying at Queen Street for about 4 months now. Our room has had a couple of problems but we really appreciate the quick action Val and the rest of the staff took to fix them; any problem we have is taken care of as quick as possible. It’s an incredible location-we’re near EVERYTHING-and the room, albeit a bit small, is enough for what we need it for, with all necessary amenities and access to washer/dryer/clubhouse etc. As international residents with limited housing options, this was a really solid choice for us. We really appreciate it!

It’s a beautiful accommodation close to the town center, streatham and St Luke’s Campuses. The staff are also very welcoming and kind. I lived here for the first two years of uni and I intend to stay for my final year. I would highly recommend Queens street studios!

Literally the worst student accommodation I’ve ever lived!!!! The water pipe burst every couple of weeks (sometimes even in your closet) with following water shutting down. Also engineer who’s gonna fix this problem really really took their time. And causes great inconvenience each time. Not to mention parts get easily broken makes me questioning the overall safety in this accommodation (there was a homeless guy who managed to access the building by the way….) Poor management: The bin room reeks throughout the building. I really can’t believe that I pay 233 pounds per week for this piece of garbage!!!!!

I have only checked out recently :) thanks to the helpful staffs (Valeria and iris) I have enjoyed my stay in the past year. The room itself is very comfortable, there are loads of space to store and the room is new( but one thing that I really don’t like are the lights and heating) freezing during winter as it turns off every 15mins and it wouldn’t turn on anymore (due to the room temperature)😖 and the lights turn off while I sat on bed

I have been staying at Queen street Studios for the past six weeks and the staff here make me feel like home. The manger val is so nice and kind, when I injured my self the manger came to check up on me. I love how val and iris are so helpful and friendly. The rooms are very beautiful and cozy and I enjoy spending time on my room. I would love if there was a 24/7 security on site and maintenance to make it more easier, It also came to my knowledge that the manger has also been asking for this. Overall, coming to Queen Street Studios was one of the best decisions I have made because of the people and the location of the place and how it’s close to uni and the city center.

The rooms themselves are very spacious and feel very big due to their high ceilings and space between bed, desk and kitchen. The windows and doors are not amazing when it comes to blocking out sounds, so I highly recommend either bringing earplugs or noise cancelling headphones, or both. The walls are also quite thin and your neighbours will be able to hear your conversations (if you speak loud enough). Usually it is pretty muffled though, so it isn't too distracting. A large sized kitchen for a student studio, and compared to some others which I have visited, it's one of the most spacious. Whilst at your desk, the kitchen is also not distracting, and kinda blurs out. The fridge is a normal studio sized fridge, with a mini freezer installed. The microwave oven takes a bit of playing around with to understand at the beginning, but it does the job and looks very modern. I have yet to figure out the oven setting. The sink is large enough to be able to do your dishes comfortably, without having to put your dishes in awkward positions in order to clean them. The bathroom is large for a student studio with a good shower, but not a lot of bathroom shelf space. The storage cupboard is basic, equipped with an ironing board, iron, large bucket and dustpan. There is plenty of space to fill it up with all your cleaning supplies too. The desk has a very deep storage space (easier to explain through pictures), and plenty of shelves. The size of the desk itself is quite nice, decently large and there is a small pinboard next to it. The beds take a bit of getting used to, if you are picky, like me. The mattresses are spring mattresses and do have a tendency to dig into your hip (if you lay on your side). It is a small double, so it is more than big enough for one person. There is only one bedside table though. The underbed storage is as large as the bed is, but you do have to crawl a bit to use it. The windows are very large and let a lot of light in. They are not double glazed, so during the winter months, my room got very cold, and the heater does not do a good job at heating the room up, as it turns off as soon as it reaches 21c. They do have a few portable heaters available though, and I recommend getting your hands on one of them. In contrast, the curtains do a very good job of blocking all that light too. They are not blackout though, and at night the street lamps do shine through the edges a bit. The sitting area on the main floor is fitted with comfy chairs and a few couches. There are also a few tables on which I find it great to do a long study sesh on. There is also a pool table and a mini fridge. The wash room is equipped with 2 dryers and 2 washer, being a bit pricey at 3.40 per wash. Overall, the rooms are fantastic for a student studio in exeter, compared to a lot of other accommodations which are available, with one of the best locations to have. Give or take a 15min walk up to campus, and a 5min walk to Sainsburys, Tesco express and M&S. The management is definitely a bit pricey, (£42 if you get locked out 😬), but Valeria does a fantastic job of running the accommodation. If you ever have an issue with something in your room, or another tenant, she is always willing to help sort it all out, and she does so with great efficiency.

From my point of view, which i’ve been stayin for 4 months, i’mma just write down 4 reasons can help your decision. 1. clean room and corridor 2. Close to city centre(co-op in 30sec), and University. 3. Kind staffs 4. Soundproofing in each room (The sounds from corridor is a little weak).

Familiar and cozy Val and Iris are the new managers of Queen Street Studios and their work at the accommodation has been so far spot on. They have organised enjoyable and agreeable events where residents would receive free dominos pizza and free hot chocolate. Their hospitality does not end here, members of staff will occasionally leave fruit and chocolates for students to enjoy by the reception desk, which after a long and stressful day at uni, makes you feel more at home and cared for. I recently came back from the x-mas holidays and found the cutest postcard on my room, turns out Val and Iris had been going around the building leaving Hallmark cards with their best wishes to all the residents. This last detail was the jewel in the crown. Thank you and keep up with with the good work.

Lovely student accommodation. A very comfortable place. It is very convenient whether to go to school or the town. Although it is very close to the city, it has to be said that the soundproofing effect of the room is very good, so it will not affect study and rest. I have lived here for four months, all the staff at reception are friendly and helpful. I want to thank the staff responsible for cleaning, and thank her for providing us with a clean and comfortable living environment. Sorry, I don't know her name. And I want to thank the general manager Valeria. Due to work reasons, we temporarily decided to move out of the apartment, Valeria was very patient and helped us with the subletting procedures and the recommendation letter provided to my new landlord. Renting a house in the UK is really a tricky thing. I think this apartment with a good location, allowing two people to stay at no additional cost and having the excellent and friendly staff, is very convenient for international students who have just come to study in the UK or students who are coming to study in Exeter.

I am generally satisfied with my room as I've got a corner room. The location is very convenient as it is in the middle of town and Uni, so it's less of a commute when going to my lectures. However, there are some hazardous designs in the room: 1. glass shelf right above tiny sink - be ready to bump your head onto it every morning when washing your face or brushing your teeth 2. no lights above desk area - you need to buy your own desk lamps to brighten up your study space and be ready that your eyesight will worsen by the end of the year 3. radiator turns off its own in the morning when it's usually the coldest - either you get your own fan heater or you purchase another duvet, which I did both. Management is absolutely RUBBISH. The previous manager left, which is an absolute shame. The new manager is completely out of reach, unprofessional and responds with awful attitudes and responses. She comes in to the office in the morning and stays in her own world in her room. Doesn't even respond to the door when Amazon drivers deliver parcels here (funny). Reported problems with my room but for two months the problems are still unsolved. There were times I stood at the reception waiting for response but got ignored too even though receptionist was there in her own room, pretending she didn't see or hear anyone. Despite complaining to the customer service, letters are still scattered EVERYWHERE and you have to search through hundreds of letters to find your own letters. Lift was broken for weeks at the start of the term. No security and on-site maintenance meaning it's potentially unsafe and anything that requires maintenance will take ages. Have also seen and heard the manager treating her part-time colleague poorly by telling her off. Surely she shouldn't have thrown her temper at her colleague. The sign at reception says office is opened till 5:30pm but by 5pm the office is closed and no one will be there. Considering rent is £225/week and I fulfil my obligations as a tenant to pay rent on time, this is very disappointing. Fresh should address this.

This is a terrible place , over-valued , under serviced and shady. The beds are old and dirty, the lift is always out of order, staff are so unhelpful-the office is never open , no keys for personal mailboxes so you can't get your personal post whenever you want. I have moved because it was a joke, no security, nothing . Rooms are old, dark with small windows- Get a studio from a private landlord.

I’ve been living in Queen Street Studios for the past three years and I would absolutely recommended the place! Great location, nice and safe! where you’ll find it very convenient to travel to the university or college and enjoy your life nearby the city centre all at once. Not to mention that you also have Co-Op store, the bus stop and nice cafe right across the street along with the central station next to your place! Also, a perfectly room design to accommodate your living. Studio room type with the kitchen area in separate from your bedroom and working desk together with TV and some of the essentials being provided. The last point I would like to make here is the staff, Annette. She is very friendly, enthusiastic, and helpful! So, if any of you’re still looking for an accommodation in Exeter or about to move in, I can reassure that you’ve got nothing to worry about and that you will have a great time living here:)

For my final year at university, I chose to live at Queen Street studios, and it truly was, without exaggeration, the best year of my life. Aside from the incredible location, gorgeous rooms (and views!), and common area, the aspect of it that really made my time at queen street the best year of my life was Annette. Where do I begin with Annette? She was truly like family to me. Anytime I’d have an issue with my room (which was so rarely!) she’d have it sorted in hours. The number of times I’d go to her when uni got hard and I needed someone to talk to are too high to count. She treats Queen Street like her own home, and the students as her family. I have met friends at Queen Street (through the events she works so hard to organise!) that I’ll have for life. I have so much love for Annette and for Queen Street studios, as does every single person I’ve spoken to who lives here. It is at SUCH a perfect location (15 mins from uni and 5 mins from town! With M&S, Tesco, and a Co-Op nearby), and the vibes are the best you can get in Exeter because of Annette. I have lived in two other student accommodations prior to Queen Street, and I was really disappointed by the quality/cleanliness of the rooms and the surrounding area, as well as the reception’s general care/attentiveness to the students. Queen street was universes away from this. I’m so incredibly grateful for my time here, and will hold it so close to my heart for the rest of my life.

I've been studying in Exeter for almost two years, and I have to say this place is among the best accommodations in town. I had visited many accommodations in Exeter before deciding that QSS is the place where I would stay. The staff were friendly and always cared for the students. The building is nice and clean, and also very safe. Also, the location of this place is very convenient with a co-op store right across the street and very peaceful but well-lit and safe at night.

I'm writing this review in hopes to clear anyone's mind regarding this place. I never do these things, I never write reviews. But this place.. this place needs a few comments. Building wise, its a good enough building, they have this really slow elevator which is constantly in use because one elevator for 6 floors isn't very effective, also the rooms themselves are good enough for one year of living, I wouldn't advise more. Why? Well This has to do with the Accommodation Team. If it weren't for them I would have stayed here longer! Not sure if this applies to everyone, but I experienced a really rude and sarcastic conversation with the accommodation manager, she really does not care on our wellbeing. During COVID-19 pandemic was were I could clearly tell that the team has flaws. These were some of them: Payment Issues (disappearing money), awful regulations and persistent emails. Most crucial information was only given to me by email on the same day as its deadline. This applies to payments and other emergency issues. Most emails are basically spam and could be avoided. No security guard after 6Pm, so don't come here looking for safety. The common room is okay at best, a few tables to study, a vending machine a tv and a spoiled pool table. The laundry room is pathetic. Two washing machines and two dryers for 6 floors worth of students. And to finish this, the worst of it all. THE PRICE!!! ITS ABSURD! I stayed in the cheapest rooms and the price was still through the roof. The pictures fooled me and they probably will fool you too. Come and live here if you really enjoy wasting your money. There are many other places out there with cheaper princes and better foundations and definitely more polite staff!!! 2/10 would never repeat again.

Im embarrassed for them edit : They moved us in the building and they are sounding fire alarms the whole day causing a nuisance biggest mistake of my life moving in here. EDIT 2 ... The only reason for 4 stars is because of the hiccops they made in the beginning - the accommodation was not ready on time.
