As soon as you step through the door you know the place is well run; with the shop shelves beautifully stacked. All the prices were very reasonable too. Like the shop, the cafe was spotless where we enjoyed coffee that was full of flavour, but not bitter. It was obvious the whole business was being well looked after and clients were made very welcome.

Ate in the Bistro once for an evening meal, twice for breakfast and had a takeaway whilst on a recent holiday. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the bistro itself is dog friendly. I felt the menu offered me enough choice, (I can be quite fussy). Plenty of the ingredients are from the local area making use of other small businesses, which is a great philosophy to be able to have. Would definitely return.

Gina's is the best restaurant in the South West (personal opinion, I've been coming here for years!), and most definitely The Place to eat in Beer. A family owned restaurant serving up brilliant Italian and Thai dishes, there's something for everyone here. The pizzas, calzones and tiramisu are especially excellent. Booking is recommended, this popular place gets busy most evenings. If you're in the area, get to Gina's for a relaxing evening in a friendly establishment offering great food!

Absolutely Perfect 60th Birthday Celebration! We recently celebrated a 60th birthday at Steamers restaurant in Beer, and I cannot recommend it enough! It is under new management and from the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every detail of the celebration was taken care of. Their genuine care made the experience truly special. The food was simply incredible— perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, fresh local produce, just brilliant. Our friends are still raving about how delicious everything was. If you're looking for a venue that offers not only amazing food but also impeccable service, Steamers is the place. It made our celebration unforgettable, and we can't wait to return. Thank you for making the occasion so memorable! We held

Crab sandwiches on the beach….loved it. Cash only…….unbelievable how many people clearly dont have enough change for a pot of tea in their pockets these days. Lovely location, everything done properly. Don’t hesitate to walk down. PS Look after his £50 note 🤣

If you’re in the area, please do visit The Fountain Head Inn at Branscombe, an atmospheric and welcoming local. We had a delicious meal here in this friendly pub on the first evening of an Autumn break - in our newly acquired camper van - me, the wife and our elderly spaniel. We returned to our campsite much later that evening (about 1/3rd mile away up the hill), let the dog out for one last widdle, and just like that, he disappeared into the night. We spent the next two hours searching and calling for him to no avail. We had no option other than to go to bed, rise early and re-launch our search. Our first call was to the campsite owners, who told my wife they had received a call from the pub saying that they had our spaniel. It seemed that our dog had decided our old camper van accommodation fell short of his expected standards and had returned down the hill to The Fountain to book himself a room for the night. The publicans had recognised him from earlier and tried to find us on the campsite; having failed, they put him up for the night and gave him breakfast. They would accept no offer of payment so we decided that the best idea was to post this message thanking them for going to so much trouble on our behalf - it’s very much appreciated.

Beautiful breakfast. I especially enjoyed my veggie brekkie. I'm not a fan of veggie sausages or bacon so this breakfast was perfect. It was hot ( I can't bear cold plates) and lots of tea.

I arrived at the cafe with my son, and we were immediately told to move to a smaller table even though the cafe was empty. They asked if I could wait until 12pm for lunch, so I said I'd order drinks in the meantime. My son (aged 7) was finishing off a last bite of a sausage roll from the bakery and the waiter was very abrupt about no food from other places. We left and consequently they lost perhaps £20 in sale. I just felt like we were a hassle to and contrary to the sign saying 'all are welcome' we felt anything but.

We went here for Breakfast on my Birthday. A fabulous little cafe with a real homely feeling and staff who show that they take an interest. All of the food was plentiful and fresh with no complaints. I had to ask for a plate as I was struggling to eat poached egg on toast from a dish, but this was provided swiftly and without question. Three generations of us all left very happy, even my 18y/o Son was full which is a miracle in itself! Would highly recommend 💖
