As soon as you step through the door you know the place is well run; with the shop shelves beautifully stacked. All the prices were very reasonable too. Like the shop, the cafe was spotless where we enjoyed coffee that was full of flavour, but not bitter. It was obvious the whole business was being well looked after and clients were made very welcome.

We went here on our first night in Beer and it was so good we booked for the second. The food is inventive and delicious. They swopped fish for chicken in my wife's curry, and the venison was gorgeous. Goats cheese starter was wonderful. Second night, the burger was fabulous. Nice draught beer too. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Definitely recommend.

Stayed here and "ate in" - in a relaxed informal restaurant . Impressed with bespoke breakfast (no need for lunch) and dinner - the moules were the best I have tasted for a long time - and as for the jolly Spanish waitress. Would recommend and hope to return. I guess if staying here for any length of time the menu would need to vary a bit.

The most gorgeous little place, and a welcome escape from a blustery day! Soup and toasties were epic, my daughter said the fluffy hot chocolate was the best she has had in her 7 years!!

This was a fabulous find on a windy day with very few tea rooms or pubs open for food at this time of the year. Clean and tidy with tea rooms at the side of a gift shop (cards, bags etc). A lovely welcome and a simple menu. The ploughman’s lunch was a huge board with chunks of bread, two types of cheese, ham, pork pie & pickles etc. It was very good value and large enough to be a sharing platter.

I arrived at the cafe with my son, and we were immediately told to move to a smaller table even though the cafe was empty. They asked if I could wait until 12pm for lunch, so I said I'd order drinks in the meantime. My son (aged 7) was finishing off a last bite of a sausage roll from the bakery and the waiter was very abrupt about no food from other places. We left and consequently they lost perhaps £20 in sale. I just felt like we were a hassle to and contrary to the sign saying 'all are welcome' we felt anything but.

Wonderful! Much more welcoming that "the place gown the road". Better ambiance, better beer selection and a decent menu. The Special, an Avocado, Prawn and Crab Salad was outstanding. Sure, it doesn't have a sea view, but you know what? The sea was still there when we had finished and left.....
