First time here for myself as recommended by the rest of the party for our evening meal. Warm and friendly atmosphere from arrival and throughout the meal. Food was excellent and some of the best seafood I have had in a while. Would highly recommend.

Crab sandwiches on the beach….loved it. Cash only…….unbelievable how many people clearly dont have enough change for a pot of tea in their pockets these days. Lovely location, everything done properly. Don’t hesitate to walk down. PS Look after his £50 note 🤣

Unfussy friendly traditional pub. Log fire in winter, terrace in summer. Hand drawn beer. Menu is basic but the food is good, and reasonably priced

The most gorgeous little place, and a welcome escape from a blustery day! Soup and toasties were epic, my daughter said the fluffy hot chocolate was the best she has had in her 7 years!!

We went here today for breakfast, I had the veggie breakfast and my husband had the Cosy breakfast. Both lovely, using quality ingredients, plentiful and cooked well. Staff are really nice too. Love it there. Also a little gift shop selling classy, reasonably priced items.

Lovely looking building but currently not in use. Apparently the National Trust is having difficulty finding a tenant. Check before visiting.

I asked for a cream tea for two and was told it was £12 for one scone each and a mug, but if I wanted a pot for two and two scones it would be £18. I queried this and was told by two assistant that was right. How can that be right? Ridiculously overpriced even if it cost £12 with a pot. The scone was out of a packet and heated up (probably to soften it up) and wasn’t that thrilling!

Visiting Beer on a Sunday & looking for somewhere for a light lunch (sandwich type lunch) Called into here, completely empty when we arrived, but looked to be newly decorated & quite nice, being dog friendly decided to give it a try. Drinks ordered, took a look at menu & realised as a Sunday they were only doing Sunday Roasts & proper lunches. We therefore just had some drinks & crisps. By the time we left a few people had received their orders & looking at plates of food, pleased we didn’t have food.

Have eaten here now 4 or 5 times in the last 12 months since becoming a permanent resident in Seaton. The pub is family run friendly and welcoming serving good homemade meals at a good price. The Friday night steak night is very popular and booking is highly recommended. Sunday lunch is also excellent. Always find staff at the kings arms welcoming and friendly, this is definitely a pub we recommend to visitors and friends.

One of the best Sunday roasts I’ve had , it was absolutely amazing. Large portion with freshly roasted carrots and parsnips, cauliflower cheese, pigs in blanket and Yorkshire pudding. The staff are all friendly and helpful. We asked for some extra gravy and we were brought a whole jug which was perfect. So glad we came here and we will definitely be back next time we come to Beer!

We had a comfortable stay at the Anchor room was clean ... adjoining bathroom also. We had dinner and breakfast the following morning. Nothing terrible to say but with an almost perfect situation on the seafront at Beer ... it could be more. So four stars for being 'OK'.... for having friendly staff and being a nice refuge from a wet and windy night! Here's a few thoughts on what would have made it a 5 star review!! Food .... I've eaten here a few times over the years... you could describe the fare as "Wetherspoons Plus" the usual breaded fish, chicken and burgers, probably what most people prefer but with fresh locally caught fish on sale within 100 meters it would be so nice to see one or two offerings that reflect that. Wine ... perfectly nice pinot Grigio but at around £25.00 per bottle it's a bit on the steep side. Breakfast additional to room price at £12.00 with a choice of continental or cooked ok. Accommodation. Very nice large bath. The shower gel dispenser awkwardly sited away from the shower unit and too high to reach in the bath!! Bathroom door hinges had a "Halloween " grade creak... not what you want if you use the bathroom in the small hours! Resorted to smearing some shower gel on the hinges which fixed the problem but really ...you don't get rusty hinges like that in one day... Bedroom: Comfortable with a good view of the beach and sea. TV only has freeview. No welcome pack to be seen. Tea and coffee OK. So overall a nice place to stay. The menu could be more interesting and some aspects of the accommodation need a bit of attention to detail.
