Bay View Craft Shop in East Devon

We went here for Breakfast on my Birthday. A fabulous little cafe with a real homely feeling and staff who show that they take an interest. All of the food was plentiful and fresh with no complaints. I had to ask for a plate as I was struggling to eat poached egg on toast from a dish, but this was provided swiftly and without question. Three generations of us all left very happy, even my 18y/o Son was full which is a miracle in itself! Would highly recommend 💖

Beautiful shop with lovely gifts & homewares. The cafe was also great. Staff were friendly and chatty. It was light, airy and had a yummy looking selection of cakes on offer. They have a lovely varied menu & fresh crab sandwiches on offer. The crab tasted amazing & the bread was beautifully soft. The cream tea we shared afterwards was also lovely. Definitely recommend this place & will visit again.

Amazing breakfast and gift shop

A really lovely little tea-shop. It's not clear whether it's table service or order at the counter so clarifying that would be useful. There are no onsite toilets so customers use the public ones a few doors away. The cream tea we had was huge (enough for 2 meals) but lovely. The atmosphere was friendly. We'd happily visit again.

2nd visit, the last was five years ago. Still great tasting food served by friendly people in a spotlessly clean establishment. If you are hungry and not on a meat free diet, do yourself a favour and have the Surf n Turf baguette. It’s delicious 😋

The food and drinks were excellent (Devon smokey, adult sandwich and child's sandwich). The cafe was very busy but the staff were polite and friendly. There are no toilets on site, but the public toilets are practically next door; this wasn't a major issue for us.

Staggeringly rude when I tried to pay.

Awful. Got my order wrong and then overcharged me. No apology when this was pointed out and monies refunded almost slammed on the table. Take note of other reviews and avoid.

Our original plan was to have a coffee and cake at Ducky’s as it’s on the beach but they only accept cash so we left and came here. Very happy we did because it’s a beautiful shop and eatery. The member of staff who served us was so welcoming and approachable. The coffee is great.

A lovely place to eat near to the beach. The breakfast was amazing, chose the cosy breakfast and vegetarian, both looked and tasted great. Very good value too. Highly recommended for brunch

Two visits this week... Thursday coffee and cake, yesterday breakfast.. Such friendly staff, even the chef came and had a chat.. The shop items lovely too, bought a few items.. Now perfect in our home... Would love to buy some more... Do you, do a parcel service??? Thanks again will deffinately return xx

Had tea coffee and cakes after being walking all day from Sidmouth. They had non diary milk. Homemade cakes and afternoon teas. Customer service was welcoming and friendly

Arrived at 2.55 pm. No food of any kind available, only drinks. Asked for a biscuit response: "no food I am afraid!!" Rude, unhelpful and uninterested. Why, I ask myself, service is so lacking in this establishment? What does it take to be a bit helpful welcoming and hospitable? Pity!

Absolutely terrible. Poor service, very rude. Then to top it off found a slug in a southern fried chicken wrap. If I could I would give this place 0 stars.

Monday lunchtime got a table easily, lovely large pot of tea for 3 of us with hot water to top it up, all had club sandwich with fries which was amazing, big and very tasty. Service excellent, attentive with a smile.

Disappointed on our return visit. Travelled from Hereford to Beer specifically for their crab sandwich. We sat for a time to work out the rest of the order to be finally told "no crab". Wish they told us that on arrival. Service also very slow, and it would have been nice to know this prior to being seated. Nice location, a little uninspired, staff pleasant. Won't make the effort though next time. Scones looked yummy 😆

Cosy cafe with lovely craft shop. Good food cake and coffee. Food only served till about 2:30 or 3 PM apart from cake and scones. Very close to lovely pebble beach of Beer.

A nice friendly place for a coffee and snack, or a bite to eat for lunch. My wife's cappuccino was woefully weak. But as we didn't say anything we can't really complain. I'm sure they'd have made us another one without any fuss.

Gorgeous little cafe and shop, the homemade scones were incredible! Highly recommended stop for any trip to Beer.

We have had breakfast twice here, and both times were delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful and the service was efficient. I would recommend the blooming mushrooms, the summer breakfast and the smoked haddock with poached eggs. All washed down with a large pot of tea.

Stopped in for a light lunch during a quick visit to the quaint village of Beer. As the name suggests the café is above the sea front overlooking the bay. The café is within a gift shop. I don’t offer award 5 stars but will on this occasion as there was nothing to fault. Food was nicely presented and well priced, the staff were all polite and efficient. There’s no toilet within the café but the public toilets are only two doors away and they were clean and well kept.

Best fishfinger sandwich ever. All the food was amazing. Very friendly.

Lovely gift shop. The assistant offered my girls little complimentary organza bags for the gift they had bought for their friends.

Tea room with no scones on a Saturday, which is appalling. We waited for ages but nobody came up to us to take our order until we were putting our getting ready to leave. Then we were told, no scones. How can they be a tea room with no scones?

Also does a wonderful full English breakfast which is what you need to start your day off other food is available too.

Used this to get out of the rain. Glad I ended up here.
