Monsoon Indian Restaurant & Takeaway in East Devon

We just had a lovely meal in our local Indian restaurant, Monsoon in Seaton. A delicious tasty meal and friendly efficient service. Highly recommend!

I recently dined at Monsoon for the first time and it was fantastic! The ambiance was cozy, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The food was bursting with authentic flavors, especially the garlic chilli chicken and tarka dhaal😍 Everything was cooked to perfection. Vegan and vegetarian options were also 10/10. Highly recommend this place for a delicious Indian meal!

Was passing through for work and stumbled upon this place off a whim. Honestly some of the best tasting and most aunthentic food I've ever had. I enjoyed it so much I had it the following day too! The staff members and owner were so warm and personable and really made me feel welcome. Really affordable, excellent food, great atmosphere , brilliant service. What more can you ask for!

Very friendly, quick service and great food. Meal deal where they choose your food based off of your tastes is great value and lucky for me I got what I'd have ordered anyway!

Used to be good,but has gone down hill since opening. I am 80 years old and have been eating curry since the60s . People have complained that they had to wait too long, but in the 60s. You had to wait an hour because the curry was good and cooked properly. Now days it is just slung together as in Monsoon,s Now, poor cut's of lamb (gristle ily,) chicken not marinated, just slung in at last minute I would pay £100 for one 70s good curry but no one knows how to cook Indian these days. Will stop going to Indian's in Seaton now. Good one in Lyme Regis and Sidmouth.

Visiting the area and popped in for dinner after a 2.5hr drive. The food was amazing and lots of tempting dishes to choose from. We over ordered because the portions were a good size. The food was delicious 😋 It's bring your own alcohol but we wernt bothered so bought soft drinks there. Oh and...the best lime pickle I have ever tasted! Definitely one to remember!

We order a takeaway to collect and the portions were very generous. One serving would have been enough for two people. The Tikka Masala was saved for the following day. We were given complimentary poppadoms and dips with our food too. Excellent value for money and you won’t be disappointed.

Staying in Beer for a few days and as we enjoy Indian food we tried the Monsoon and the food was so good we returned the following day. The dishes are delicious, generous portions, pitched at a fair price and the staff friendly. They offer free delivery locally and we had complimentary poppadoms and sauce. Highly recommended- give it a try if you are in Seaton

A great restaurant near to the tramway station in Seaton. No alcohol served here but you can bring your own. This wasn't a problem for me. Great selection on the menu, reasonably priced. Great service too, very friendly. I had the garlic chicken which was delicious. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area. Highly recommend. Thank you.

We’re visiting the area for a few days and found this restaurant near the tramway; I have eaten lots of curries in my time and I have never had a better naan anywhere! We (a family of four), selected the ‘leave it to us’ option and it was incredible value (too much food, in fact), and really well served. The plates were hot too - an all-round fabulous experience and they even allowed our well behaved dog to join us - a first in my experience for an Indian restaurant. I’d certainly be a regular if I lived in the area; bring your own alcohol too, without corkage. Thank you Monsoon team :-)

What a great find .. the wife and I went there a few weeks ago and went back last night, Mon 26th August, with the sister in law and her husband.. Monsoon is outstanding, fantastic food whatever meal you go for, great value for money, spotlessly clean, staff are friendly and courteous as well as attentive and professional. Well done all, we will be back.

Got into town later than we expected and needed food. Monsoon was one of the few places open and we are so glad they were! Absolutely delicious butter chicken and chicken masala, so good we are already planning on having it again before we leave town. On top of the yummy food the service was great, very friendly and attentive staff who care about the customers experience.

Can’t fault this place, bent over backwards to accommodate us, they even picked us up and dropped us back to our local campsite as buses and taxis are very few and far between

Arrived in Seaton on a Tuesday and many restaurants closed early so stumbled across Monsoon and aren't we glad we did. The food is fresh and delicious and great service. It was so good we went again during our stay and again fantastic food. Well done chef!

Ordered online for home delivery. It arrived at the exact time stated. The food was superb, the best we have tasted for a long time.

We got a takeaway delivered to our caravan at Beer Head. It was really tasty and best of all, the delivery guy even located our specific caravan to deliver it! It came quickly too. Really impressed and would definitely recommend.

Worst curry we’ve ever had. Butter chicken was mild but there was no heat in it at all. Very expensive considering the portion size too. Not surprised we were the only people in the restaurant.

Fantastic food! Best Indian I have had for many a moon... even my wife, who does not share my enthusiasm (in this, or any other area) was very impressed. Remember to take chilled alcohol (if that is your thing) as they don't have a drinks licence!

Sunday night and everywhere was shut - even those who Google said was open! Walked the length of the beach, up and over, then found this gem right by the Premier Inn that we were staying at! A warm welcome, nothing was too much trouble, friendly and informative staff. What a banquet arrived at our table! Soft, lush naan's; crispy, irresistible bahjees and the most delicious, moist, flavoursome chicken I have ever tasted! Full marks guys! We'll be back! (Take your own alcohol they don't have a licence. But don't take soft drinks)...

We had a weekend break in Seaton, meeting family at a midway point. After a good walk, we searched for somewhere to eat on the Sunday evening. We found the Monsoon Restaurant and enjoyed a really tasty meal at a reasonable price. Friendly staff and a warm welcome. Would definitely recommend.

We ordered a takeaway for a funeral wake and it was one of the best takeaways I’ve had (I’ve had many!!)Everyone loved the food and all the curries were first class. Really tasty and well spiced. Lovely service and a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended!!

I'm working here for 6 months and everywhere I go. I always try all the takeaways in the area, and this one is my favourite in Seaton. The food tastes excellent, priced accordingly, and I've never had issues. I always collect my food, but inside it's always clean with a nice atmosphere and the staff are really friendly. I've seen signs saying that you can bring your own alcohol which would be a bonus for a lot of people. If you're visiting Seaton, then I would 100% recommend coming here :)

I had the Captain's Patila and it was superb. Juicy without being runny or swimming in in oil, the lamb was tender and lean. I jogged in at just gone 8pm and had my meal ready in under 15 minutes. The staff were polite and friendly and the price was very good.

The takeaway service is excellent quality food, always delivered hot, the best tasting Indian food I have eaten. Excellent service too.

We waited 90 mins for a takeaway order. We chased it up and they told us to wait longer. An hour later we called again and they explained they had lost the order. Might be a one off as I've not used them before.

We had a good meal here & it's great when you can bring your own alcohol. They very kindly let us bring our dog in the restaurant which was a first for us (in an Indian). I think they'll let dogs in if they're not too busy & the dog is calm. Thanks very much folks

Brilliant food and such a good find in the area. Staff are great and very attentive. Waiter who is originally from Bristol was lovely, and provided a top quality service.

A takeaway whilst staying in nearby Beer. An excellent recommendation. Good quality ingredients, tender lamb in the spicy and delicious Lal Mass Lamb. The Purple Tiger, again good quality tiger prawns and aubergine dish. Be aware that the restaurant for eating in is also a corkage free BYO. What more could you wish for? 🇬🇧🇳🇿

The food was absolutely delicious, good quality and had an amazing depth of flavour. The staff were patient and attentive. We took our own wine that we bought from Aldi which was a 2 minute walk from the restaurant.

Waited 40 minutes for our takeaway on Thursday. What a let down. The meal for two was rubbish. The samosas had obviously came from a freezer, as the centre was still frozen! The chicken dish just tasted of vinegar. The lamb dish was better, but tasteless. A waste of £31..... Some reviewers obviously have low to expectations

Great tasting food, not too long of a wait considering how busy it was and on a Sunday.

Best to book ahead online as got busy. Main was good, desserts were a bit frozen for a mousse but tasted nice. Just watch the cost of the poppadoms when asked it it is about £1.50 / poppadom.

We visited Monsoon whilst on holiday. The restaurant was a third full, meaning it was on the quiet side in terms of ambience. The food was lovely and were decent portions. The service was friendly and attentive. My gripes? Firstly, I asked for a Ginger Ale and I clearly got a Lemonade with Ginger cordial. Bit disappointed. Secondly, The price was a bit more than we would normally pay in Hampshire, even in these days of post-COVID, post-Brexit, etc.

Table for two book tonight. What can I say we had a starter to share and the taste and Flavours were on point. Then the mains came out and that was it. Completely fresh and very tasty Indian food. You know when you had a good meal when you can actually finish your dish and still want more thank you 👌

Never had a bad meal here. It's our 'go to' place for indian food (either eat-in or takeaway) and, as far as i'm aware, is the only local restaurant to offer delivery (which is always by friendly drivers).

Attended on Saturday night our friends have been before, lovely meal all all reasonable prices once again we ordered too much as the portions are generous. Only downside they haven’t got a licence so bring your own apart from that wonderful.

Truly excellent Indian food with a cozy and comfortable atmosphere. We are very sensitive to hot food and all too often Indian restaurants don't accommodate our need for absence of heat very well. Monsoon was an exception . Every dish we had was delicious and just to our liking. Would highly recommend for both dining in and takeout!

Horrible, waiter shouted infront of customers at another waiter, who was working really hard because he'd not answered the phone. On leaving he tried to justify it because they were busy, it was horrible to witness and definitely won't be returning.

Disgusting! We ordered two different disses, one hot and one mild but they both had the same sauce? £50 spent in total for a vile cold takeaway. Please do not order from here as it’s an Indian restaurant by name but the food clearly circumvents...

We ended up in monsoon mid-week having not booked. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and attentive. The food was clearly freshly cooked and very tasty. The bill was also particularly reasonable. I would absolutely recommend.
