This is absolutely the best takeaway in the area including surrounding areas. Fantastic quality food! Authentic Indian cuisine. This little gem is family run by the most lovely family. We've lived in the area for about 18 months and I have always feeled welcome and valued as a customer. Use this wonderful Indian restaurant as you will not find better in the area and beyond, believe me, I've tried some of the others and they don't compare at all. Lovely food, lovely family run business.

Ordered takeaway for collection. Every part of the meal was incredible. Best Indian I've had in a long time. Lamb Madras curry, the meat was so tender and the sauce was full of flavour, not floating in oil like you get in some places. They were not shy with the meat, there was plenty in there, very generous. Well impressed. Don't be put off by the restaurants unassuming character, the food from here is top quality!! They also catered for Dairy free diet by removing certain ingredients and using alternatives. Cannot find a single thing to say negative about the Sidmouth Tandoori.

All I can say is that this place is a hidden gem! Ordered an achari gohst (meat in pickled spices) and 4 chapattis. The lad behind the counter was very polite and hospitable, even though we came a few minutes before closing! The curry was not dripping with oil, which was fantastic. It was packed full of flavour. The quality of the meat itself was excellent, and it was very succulent, as it was cooked to perfection, and unlike some restaurants, there were more than enough pieces of it. The chapattis were enormous. Pricewise, I'd say it's reasonable, considering the prices of utilities and meat. Grand total of £19.30. It's hard to find a good curry house nowadays. it's all kebabs and burgers! I will definitely be eating from there again as it's good to support your local curry house, especially when the food is spot on!!

Amazing takeaway!!! Really warm welcome from the owner who had been there for over 23 years! Very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The food was so tasty and hot. The lamb Bhuna was the best I have ever had and my partner just loved the butter chicken again so tasty. The peshwari was huge, fluffy and again tasty. We will definitely be going back and happy to recommend to anyone who appreciates really good Bangladeshi and Indian food

Dropped in and ordered last night, we had to wait half an hour but took that as a good sign that they were busy. The staff were extremely pleasant and friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. We would definitely eat here again if we are back in the area.

Very nice lady and staff, I had to wait over half an hour for my collection, after ordering one and a half hours prior, almost two hours from ordering to collecting, in my opinion they are under staffed, the food quality was ok but I have eaten much better. We ordered three chicken tikka dishes, none of which looked or tasted like tikka chicken, is was very poorly cooked. Probably will not be using again

Down here on holiday needed a curry fix, lead by reviews decided to give it a try, starters were lovely puris and pakoras, mains excellent too balti and dhansak were spot on heat levels, im gutted I'll be 3hrs drive away the next time I want a Ruby.

Being a regular at London's brick lane I know a decent curry when I eat one , I can confirm that Sidmouth tandoori is absolutely top draw 🔥💯 Swift polite service, all dishes full of flavour , £48 fed all four of us very well . I will certainly be a repeat customer when I'm back in the area.

My wife was away for the week and I was fed up with my poor cooking, so I ordered a Lamb biriyani this evening. It was sensational! Piping hot and enormous! Really cheered me up!

They have maintained their well deserved rating of one of the best Bangladeshi and Indian meals we have found. To such an extent that we don’t get takeaways anywhere else. Keep up the good work!

A lovely atmosphere, a warm and friendly day family that run it. Great choice on the menu all reasonably priced. Lovely staff , very efficient. The dansak was gorgeous, full of flavour and Asian spices.

I visited The Tandoori takeaway in Sidmouth as I had read some good reviews on Tripadvisor . We can cook Indian food ourselves , so can be a bit choosy in our choice of food . Having chatted with the lady that served me , I discovered that her family name was the same as my own , which was nice . I had a lovely chat with the lady whilst I waited for our food . The containers were filled to the brim with our chosen curries and I actually had enough for two meals , which I thoroughly enjoyed . My husband , who normally speaks his mind could find no fault in his meal . Thank you .

The most authentic and best tasting Indian/Bangladeshi food we have had around our area. Good size portions with authentic flavours. We have taken to get a carry out meal on a regular basis now we have discovered this restaurant.

Food is always good from Sidmouth Tandoori. Although they are no longer a sit down restaurant, they still do take away and I've never been disappointed.

We tried this small curry house whilst on holiday Oct 22 after reading reviews. OMG it was such a good meal - so good we ordered again before the end of our week. Food was hot, fresh and full of flavour. The staff were fast, friendly and efficient. Such a small shop entrance but don't be dissuaded; this place delivers BIG in flavour! Recommend and hope to visit you in March 2023😁👍

Visiting from Southampton, we grabbed a take away and were really blown away by how nice it was. Spot on ETA for collection time quoted and when we returned 10 min drive back to cottage the food was well packed and piping hot. Really enjoyed the biriyani, meat packed! Definitely will visit again.

Moved down from London and this restaurants food beats any that we had back there. Food delivered piping hot and the flavours are unbelievable. Potions are large and good value for money.

Whilst on holiday ordered takeaway for delivery as it was not open for table service. It arrived on time delivered by the owner. We ordered the amount we normally would and the food portions we got were massive. My partner had lamb curry he said it was enough lamb for almost 3 people. It was very tasty best curry I’ve had for a long time.

Ordered a take away for 1830. Polite friendly lady on phone and then when I arrived to collect. Food was piping hot and portions were big. But most importantly the food tasted fresh and was delicious. Food had lots of flavour and was cooked to perfection.

Sidmouth is so lucky to have the best Indian Takeaway in Devon full stop. A really good munu with some true gems in it, and the staff are brill and nice and know there food.

Best Indian food I’ve ever had!! The chicken dansak was perfectly tender and spicy. The garlic naan was delicious too!!

I've eaten here loads of times both pre and during the pandemic. The food is simply beautiful and delicious with a depth / complexity of flavour really difficult to find elsewhere out of larger cities. Si, Selma and Dan are always friendly and dedicated.

Just not as good as it used to be. Having lived in Bradford for 4 years, I do appreciate a great curry. The Chicken Chat had a broken wishbone - dangerous. I don't think I have ever had a masala with almonds and coconut - it was more like a korma. The balti was only OK - normally outstanding. Looks like the Cinnamon Tree next time! Sorry Sidmouth Tandoori, we have been loyal customers for 18 years.

My Wife and I had a Valentines treat of an Indian takeaway from the Sidmouth Tandoori on the 14th Feb 2022. Wow! fantastic! My wife had the Sidmouth special biryani and I had the Samber with lamb tikka, pilau rice. The meal was a absolute delight and plenty of it. I don't usually write reviews but this meal deserved it. Highly recommended.

We got a takeaway from here back in August as even though we were eating early everywhere seemed booked up. The food was good, but filling.

This curry house was recommended to us by the locals. I can hands down say this is one of the best currys we have had. Collected within 25mins of placing our order, friendly service and reasonably priced! We had garlic chilli chicken mossala and onion rice.

Had many takeaways from this restaurant. Food is always of a high standard, generous portions and the staff will accommodate customers preference, I prefer less oil. Staff very friendly and polite, can’t praise it high enough. Give them your support!

We don't come from round here. This last Wednesday we had two takeaways Dupiazi (or similar spelling) one chicken and one lamb and can genuinely say they were the best Asian food meals we have had for a long time.Usually the Asian food from takeaways is swimming in liquid but these were not. When I first heard about the Tandoori place in Sidmouth it was a delight to know that it was the first place that I went to and was deliciousness in a hole they serve to me they serve to me this this peppers stuffed with prawns I said this must be something special for sure I thought that it was good with the rice and a non you know you always want an arm but not too many nan's sometimes the poppadoms that I have a bit too like I don't need them but if you put them back in a small oven in a van heat them up then they can become crispy again if you leave them too long for the leftovers. I would like to say rounded up I was very excited and the food was made deliciously it was more delicious and tasty than any other Indian place I have had locally you should go here and have this Indian place for yours for you for your family ok.

We just had an absolutely delightful takeaway from Sidmouth Tandoori. Food was fantastic, very tasty and so full of flavour, arrived when they said it would and was still hot. Cannot recommend enough. We have been looking for a decent Balti since we moved to Devon from Birmingham years ago, and Sidmouth Tandoori is right up there with the best of them.

The tandoori is, during these times of covid, operating only as a takeaway. As we were in self catering accommodation, this wasn’t a problem for us. We had the Chicken Madras, Jalfrezi, Tarka Daal, Pilau rice and Poppadoms. The portion sizes were very generous and very reasonably priced. The flavours were excellent and unlike some Indian restaurants, the dishes weren’t swimming in Ghee. We enjoyed it very much and would have no hesitation in eating there when next in Sidmouth.

Our take away was excellent. From first contact by phone first class as was the food and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend and certainly use again. Well done Sidmouth Tandoori.

Had two takeaways in 3 days from here during our stay in Sidmouth as so many restaurants were either closed or hopelessly overbooked and a good job we found this gem of a restaurant now focussing on takeaways during the pandemic, soooo delicious!! This is absolutely one of the best Indian Takeaways we have ever had!The food tasted so delicious and was very hot, very fresh and flavoursome! We dine out a LOT and we absolutely loved the food as well as the genuinely friendly service from this restaurant. We had amazing Dhansak (one chicken, one kind prawn, we had lovely Korma sauce for our daughter - very kindly made without meat or veg in it - just the sauce to please a hard to please young lady), gorgeous rice dishes (keema rice - yum!!!!), some lovely spinach & cheese dish, lovely chicken tikka masala....in fact everything we had was amazing! Thanks a million!If they tell you its 1 1/2 hours to wait do not hesitate - go for it anyway as it is well worth the wait!!! there is a reason they are this busy!!!

We have enjoyed a fantastic takeaway today. The food was well prepared, flavoursome and quality ingredients. I would definitely recommend the food. My only issue was the extremely long wait. Appreciated that the establishment was busy but 2 hours from ordering was not acceptable. Nevertheless, you were busy, just let the customer know if there will be a delay. That’s all. Communication is the key. Wish you all the best and would hope my little niggle is taken on board.

This is proper Indian/spicy cuisine with subtlety, balance and elegance in the mixture of spices. Also generous portions, and a very varied menu which should suit most palates. Thoroughly recommend

Cannot fault this restaurant. Most Middle Easten Cusines are not even that. They are made without the knowledge of that background or heritage. This restaurant is a prime example of not that. But a warm friendly Eastern European Cuisine that CLEARLY DOES have a background. You can tell the difference from eating here to any “Tesco quality” Middle Eastern Restaurant. Will come back!
