Finally got to eat here & was not disappointed, food & service excellent & really friendly will definitely be back

One of the best meals we had whilst on holiday- freshly cooked green Thai tofu curry with plenty of chillies!

lovely food, has the gambero spaghetti, wasn’t actually spicy but more peppery which isn’t a problem as still very lovely food. Wine was great and service was brilliant. Would love to go again

We had such a lovely meal at Gina’s and we always visit while staying in Beer as the food is amazing! With a need for a gluten free dish, Mike was very knowledgeable and was able to accommodate a gluten free Chicken Massaman (which was delicious!) as it was all made fresh to order in the kitchen. We always look forward to visiting Gina’s and will definitely be returning next year!

Monday evening in Beer is quiet! We hadn’t booked anything… popped in and we had a table for 2 within an hour… popped to the local pub for a pint … no hardship ❤️… Once seated at the restaurant we choose to go Italian .. bruschetta followed by spaghetti bolognaise & spaghetti puttanesca ❤️❤️service great, food lovely.. we have rebooked & will go Thai! X

Best restaurant in beer and deserves 5 stars the menu is a brilliant mix of Thai and Italian. Mike was a great welcoming host.Looking forward to our return to Beer and this gem of a restaurant

A lovely, intimate restaurant serving a wonderfully diverse menu with traditional Italian and Thai dishes. We had the Pad Thai and Massaman curry, both were amazing. The desserts were equally good. Friendly and efficient service. This place has it all. No wonder you have to book!

One of the best restaurants in Beer. Food is lovely and very reasonably priced. Need some dinner whilst in Beer? give Gina's a go you deffinately be sorry.

We visited Gina's on two nights running, both meals were excellent. Being a vegetarian I was really pleased that I could swap the chicken for tofu. The restaurant was very busy on both nights but all went really smoothly with lovely service from Mike.

We wanted to book a table for 3 but didn’t manage to do so as this lovely little place was very busy....could see why as the owner was really helpful and the food looked and smelled absolutely delicious...Italian/Thai fusion...we were very disappointed to have missed out on this occasion but would definitely return.

Food is “different” not Italian, maybe Asian fusion mix. Maybe ok for some but not impressed as I expected real fresh Italian dishes. Restaurant is outdated, service quite poor, it felt like waitress was doing us a favor by serving us. Instead of being thankful that we’ve chosen to leave our money there! We might have been there on a bad day maybe as most reviews looked genuinely good, which is why I had high expectations.Will give it another try one day when back to Beer as the locals speak very highly of this place.

Gina’s run by Michael is a cosy vibrant restaurant in the heart of Beer. You need to book as it is very popular. The food is full of flavour. The menu is Italian and Thai. Great wines are available.

we love this local restaurant. It is family owned and run and the staff are always friendly and happy. The food is constantly good and has Italian and Thai dishes on the menu. Good value for money and very tasty. You have to book well in advance to beat the holiday makers.

A really friendly restaurant. We had a delicious meal at Gina’s and the service was excellent. We went for the Italian menu and had the pizza and Bolognese it was very tasty. It gets busy, so book early.

We had a very enjoyable evening, the food was very good with a varied selection of Italian and Thai dishes. The service was excellent and the restaurant was very comfortable with a welcoming atmosphere. It gets very busy so it is advisable to book early so you are not disappointed.

Lacked atmosphere. We had booked days before an on arrival were given a table next to kitchen waited for 10 minutes with no menu or offer of drinks. These only arrived when I went and asked for them. Mixture of Thai and Italian but not a great selection of either I tried green Thai curry and partner had calzone both OK but neither great. House red good. Would recommend any of the other eateries in beer but not this one.

Visited Beer for 3 nights and ate here twice as it was so good, I had the authentic Thai Penang and Pad Thai whereas my husband went for the Italian. Lovely owner and nice to see he employs young staff to help them on their way. Thai chef who was great. Owner managed to fit us in despite it being busy both nights. Love the authentic Italian “clutter” of glasses, booze bottles.

Relaxed and friendly. Superb food - the Thai dishes are authentic and unbelievably good. Excellent pizza too too - thank you!

Gina‘s ist ein kleines Restaurant, das italienische und asiatische Küche toll verbindet. Die Köchin ist Asiatin und kocht tolle Gerichte, die immer mit frischen Zutaten zubereitet werden. Die Thai Fishcakes sind genau so gut wie die Pizzas oder Pastagerichte. Mike ist ein toller Gastgeber, seine Frau kocht!

So many people and locals in Beer recommended this resturant and all my years of visiting Beer I have never visited this resturant until now. I must say I am impressed with the menu and food served here, the staff are friendly and the prices are resonable. If I had any downsides it would be like a typical Italian resturant it is small and you are sat so close to other people, my partner had a blokes back right next to her left arm and should he have wanted to get out we would have had to also move.There was a small wait to be seated even though we booked a time slot and the food took a while to come out after we ordered however we both really enjoyed everything we had and we want to return.

We eventually managed to make contact and book a table having been recommended by several local people to try this restaurant out. We were not disappointed.

The food here was very pleasant and the chefs seem very professional and efficient but, unfortunately, I was really disappointed with the customer service from the manager. We arrived at 6 pm having pre booked. We were placed in a secluded table away from the main restaurant next to the kitchen with the door open. We were the first to arrive in the restaurant so all tables were empty. Having asked the manager whether it would be possible to move tables to the main area of the restaurant I was told that we could only do this if we could be finished in an hour as others had booked also!! I could not understand the logic of why we couldn’t as there were no reserved signs on any of the tables. I could only conclude that he did not want a family in the main part of the restaurant as all others, it transpired later , were non families or that preference was given to locals over tourists. Another couple later on were going to be sat on the one other table in our area and did want to be sat there either. They were allowed to be moved into the main restaurant area. Very non family friendly and very disappointed with the unfairness of this. There did not seem to be any logic to this decision at all!

Von anderen Gästen in unserem Hotel dringend empfohlen gingen wir mit ordentlich Hunger zu Ginas. Der Laden war voll und wir bekamen keinen Platz mehr. So entschlossen wir uns beim Chef eine Reservierung für den nächsten Tag einzutragen. Diese wurde uns sogar in freundlichem Deutsch bestätigt. Leider war das Restaurant dann am geschlossen. Ein Ruhetag ausgewiesen. Generell stimmten die Ruhetage aus TripAdvisor und vor Ort nicht überein. Andere Restaurants waren ausgebucht. In der Ferienzeit um 19 Uhr wohl üblich.

Fabulous dining at Ginas with Mike, his family and staff delivering exceptional food and top draw service! This has to be one of the best, if not the best all round restaurant in Beer.

The owner greeted us looking stressed and disheveled. The waiters were nervous, the whole place sadly needs upgrading with poor decor.

We asked if they had a table available, a girl went to ask, a middle aged man returned, looked down his nose at us and said "no table, not for two". Obviously this business is doing so well it can afford to turn away potential Customers, especially a mere pair of them. Eat somewhere else, like the Smuggler's kitchen across the road.

Whenever we come to Beer (usually once a year) we make a point of eating as many times as possible at Gina's and are never disappointed. Michael, front of house, is charming and makes sure everything runs smoothly. We ate here 3 out of our 4 nights in Beer - I love the Thai dishes, my husband the Italian, so it's a happy marriage of the two! Gina's, it seems to me, is always busy, so do make sure you pre-book a table, to avoid disappointment. It is colourful and buzzy - a lovely atmosphere and wine is reasonably priced, which is always a bonus. Don't miss it!

Unusual restaurant offering both Thai and Italian food with a good choice of both. Thai options range from mildly spicy to very hot and there are plenty of pasta and pizza choices. Very good service and great atmosphere.

We love gina's and visit a few times through the season while staying in our static carvan. Thai Food is excellent and so is the Italian Food. Wine is good value and great resturant for couples and families. Booking is advisable as the resturant is very small and gets booked up.

How unusual to get a Thai/Italian restaurant with some English favourites. Every dish was absolutely gorgeous. The owner is very friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting and chatting to him. It was also very well suited for my vegetarian diet, I had the bruschetta to start, followed by the tofu Penang curry- delicious and polished off with a phenomenal Eton mess. You feel like a valued guest not just any old customer. A real gem in the beautiful village of Beer! Will look forward to returning one day soon.

We came here on Sunday 30th June food was delicious and service was brilliant. We will definitely return again when we come on holiday again to Devon. Would advise to book in busy holiday season.

Sunday evening of a lovely weekend in the drop dead gorgeous Devon fishing village of Beer and looking at all the reviews of Gino’s we decided to give it a try. Italian/Thai we thought, how does that work? As it happens extremely well. We started with bruschetta and mains both had different Thai curry’s, all exceptional, the curry’s especially were awesome. Which explained why, when we drifted in without booking just after 6pm when they opened the owner carefully checked his list to see we could be fitted in. Shortly before we left it became apparent why as the place was packed, no wonder with such very high quality of cooking. Highly recommend you give it a try.

This is a very popular restaurant and booking is essential. The owner and staff are very friendly but were rushed off their feet on the night we called, consequently although we had ordered drinks whilst waiting for our food, these were not forthcoming for quite some time and people coming in the restaurant after us were served before us. Eventually our drinks were brought and I have to say the food was delicious.

Very nice meal here. Mix between Italian and Thai was interesting but it worked! Good service.

We eat here regularly throughout the summer (Ginas is generally closed from November to April ) lucky to get a table on opening night for the 2019 season and have never had a bad meal or experience here, Mike and team are great!. They are taking bookings from the 30th May 2019. The Thai food is fantastic recommend fish cakes and pad Thai with the children a big fan of the pizzas!. Homemade tiramisu not to be missed. Look forward to many more yummy dinners (they are closed for lunch)

This is a great family run restaurant which you must visit if you are in the area. We are regulars down in Beer and always try to get booked in for the weekend. The atmosphere is great and you really get the family feel from the service. I would warn, you need to book in advance as this is very popular in the village.

Every time we've visited Beer in the past, Gina's was always closed. However it was open this time and with good local recommendations, we jumped in. It was well worth it, popular and busy, a great atmosphere with a combination of Italian and Thai food. The waiter & waitress were English with a good attitude, nothing was too much trouble, served with a smile. The food was very reasonably priced. I'd recommend Gina's to anyone going to Beer but make sure it's open before you visit!

My wife and I have just returned home after a few nights in Beer. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and one of the highlights was our meal in Gina's. First time we have ever been in an Italian/Thai restaurant, we chose Thai, our food was fantastic.

I was the only diner on what must have been a busy evening as a sign on the door said they were full. I was first seated at a table in a room way at the back (it was definitely an add-on) it was freezing and a gale blowing thrown from somewhere. I asked to be moved, I was then moved to the front of a restaurant but told I would have to leave the table in an 90 mins. Would not really have been an issue but service was incredible slow. I started with the tomato soup. I want to love this place but I have to be honest, it was the worst tomato soup ever. I think someone has just opened a jar of marinara sauce! Needed a little pasta thrown in and would be ok, but as a soup. no!!! Second course I just took a salad which was very good. As running out of time at my table, I skipped dessert and just went for the hot chocolate.

We visited for a birthday celebration and everything was great! The food as served promptly even though it was busy and every table was full. The service was great and we were checked on numerous times throughout. No complaints about the food as everything was served beautifully and tasted delicious. I would recommend the Pad Thai and I have had the Calzone previously which was equally as good. The location is lovely. Highly recommended.

Italian thai restaurant serving good food from each cuisine. This is not a fusion of both. Bruschetta outstanding. Simple well prepared using quality tomatoes and sourdough bread. Pizza again, simple, tasty and ptepared to add a home made thai chilli and olive oil dip that was a lovely accompaniment. Recommend.

Popped into Gina’s last week for a pizza with my wife, we shared a watermelon and feta starter and then both had pizzas with a bottle of decent wine. Food was delicious and atmosphere great, always a pleasure

An excellent little family run bistro. Specialises in Thai and Italian food. Dad is front of house mum ( thai) is in the kitchen kids help to serve and cook. Phad Thai is amazing and don't overlook the cocktail starter!

Before anything.....book in advance! We went midweek and the place was packed apart from our empty table in the middle of the restaurant. One spag bol and a pizza later we left happy. I can’t comment on the Thai side of the menu but most dishes seemed well presented. Oh, did I say book in advance.

Very good food, we had a Thai curry which was excellent. It does have a Thai chef. The desserts are to die for. Gets very packed which is a shame as the Bistro is not exactly large and consequently is a bit noisy. Certainly worth a visit though.

We went here for silver wedding anniversary,a great night was had by my wife and myself, it’s a great combination as I like Italian and the wife prefers Thai, well worth a visit to Bert but you do need to book.

We had a lovely meal. I had a vegetarian calzone capra and my husband had king prawn panang. We both loved our meals. The house red was great. We would recommend this restaurant.

The menu here is a bit "fusion" as it is a typical Italian restaurant but having a Thai chef there are some oriental influences on the menu. We both opted for bruschetta followed by lasagne, both traditional Italian dishes and very well done. (We had wanted the Thai fishcakes as our starter but these had sold out in what is clearly a busy and popular restaurant.) The wine list was unusual in having several wines in the £17 to £22 range but then nothing until the Barolo at £58; a big gap, but we went for the Barolo and it was excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed and we were not hurried at any stage. It was a very pleasing experience. It was necessary to book a table in advance because the restaurant is very popular and soon fills up.

Having been there many times we took a largish party of 11 everybody enjoyed the food the drink and the Atmosphere we had a great night. Thanks to Mike and all the staff and family

We love this place and visit whenever we can get a table. In high season this is a struggle as it is very popular.

This is a family run restaurant in the middle of Beer. The menu is a combination of Tai and Italian food - which might sound odd but - the owners wife is Tai and it’s obviously a passion of hers to send out great tasting food. I went down the Italian route whilst my husband ordered Tai. Both are great, and despite the place always being busy, the kitchen and front of house staff hold it all together with good humour. The Pad Tai is particularly good, as are the pastas and pizzas. It’s also great value.

My Wife ad I went here for dinner and I was disappointed that we were shoved in the back across from the kitchen especially since I had made an advanced reservation. I ordered the spaghetti bolognase and my Wife ordered penne zucchini, the sauce on my spaghetti was bland and was watery, when asked how I enjoyed it I pointed out that it was watery and needed more spices to give it a decent flavour profile but the comments fell on deaf ears, in my Wife's case she said there was way too much zucchini. The bill included a beer and a glass of wine and came to 26.20 pounds, maybe they know how to make pizza.

Staying in nearby Seaton, Gina's was highly rated on here. Pre-booking seems essential during summer hols. Our family all ate from the Thai dishes, all excellent. Desserts were fab. Friendly staff and nice to have the manager give genuine personal attention during/after the meal checking all ok.

Always a genuine warm welcome .Great varied menu with Thai Italianand English food so all Tastes can be catered for .Happy cheerful staff and pleasant surroundings . Always busy so remember to book .

We were recommended to Gina’s in Beer by Sidmouth outdoor clothing company and a great place to eat it was we had spaghetti bolonaise pizza and green tai curry the service was superb very friendly and the meal was the best we had all weak

We have been coming to this restaurant for many years and we have always had an excellent meal. The availability of Thai food as well as Italian works well as it caters for broader tastes. I particularly enjoyed the creme brûlée.

The fusion of Italian and Thai works well. Given the heatwave we were most comfortable in the busy restaurant. Service was friendly, timely and never rushed. The food and ambience were excellent. Highly recommended.

Having booked a table,my friend and I were very much looking to our Italian meal.We both ordered spaghetti bolognese.It was awful. The spaghetti was wet,the bolognese was very dry.The restaurant is always busy,so I think my complaining to the Owner/Manager fell on deaf ears.I love Beer itself.but not its Italian Restaurant.

We ate here as a party of 8 and had a mixture of dishes. Nothing was bad but nothing was outstanding either. I would say on the whole the Thai is better than the Italian.

Lovely little restaurant in the centre of Beer. Owner and staff were very attentive and the menu was a mixture of Thai and Italian - unusual but a nice change. We enjoyed it so much that we visited twice in the four days we were there.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary last week at Gina's Italian Restaurant in Beer, as always we had wonderful service, and we were made to feel special. Our meals were delicious, served quickly. We have been patrons of Gina's since the 1980's, when it was still...

We were recommended to try this restaurant and we were warned that we would need to book. You will be very lucky to just walk in and get a table. Its a little bit like a Tardis as it seems quite small from the outside...

The gentleman who runs the restaurant is SO helpful, friendly and efficient - it's always a pleasure to dine here. It's rather unusual, as the focus is on two cuisines - Italian and Thai - this works wonderfully for my husband and me at least...!...

Called into Gina’s on the off-chance of a table and were warmly welcomed even though it was very busy.The spaghetti bolognese is the best I have ever eaten in any restaurant - wow!! Red house wine was fab too! So good we booked for tomorrow...

We visited Gina’s attracted by the choice of both Thai and Italian food. Both were prepared to perfection and the bonus of friendly staff and a reasonably priced bottle of red, meant we had a scrummy dinner ! Definitely will go there again

The atmosphere in this place is fantastic, the staff was amazing and helpful, the food was superb, the green spicy curry was one of the best dishes I have ever ever tasted in my life, and the Irish coffee “Hmmmmm” I can still taste!!!

Busy summer restaurant that needs booking ahead . Good choice of home baked pizza , and a surprising selection of Thai food as well . The pad Thai is excellent , on a par with the best Speciliast Thai places . Staff are friendly . Take away pizza can be difficult to order on busy nights

Lovely warm welcoming restaurant. Unusual and unique to us, mix of Italian & Thai choices together with pizza for the kids. From the large vines growing indoors to the wonderful staff, this was a great discovery. We wish them a profitable future and shall definitely return.

This restaurant offers the unusual, but pleasant, combination of Italian and Thai dishes. I had the Thai fish cakes to start followed by a traditional pizza, both were very good. Mrs C had the spicy pasta which more than hit the spot. Service was very attentive and personal. Would call again when visiting the area.

Situated on the High Street (Fore Street) in Beer, Gina's Restaurant serves Italian and Thai cuisine. The members of staff were friendly and welcoming whilst the service was quick and efficient. The menu is not extensive but offers a good choice for a range of tastes. The food was plentiful, well cooked and delicious.

As always this was dinner with a friend we visited to Gina's. Gina's is family run restaurant which I really like.

The restaurant is cozy and the meals which were very good. The Pad Thai was excellent, very flavorful. My wife had the pasta with courgettes which was a bit bland. Service was very friendly. I would suggest booking is essential on a Saturday at least

Went here whilst staying in Beer and thoroughly enjoyed the food. We both had pizzas, which were so tasty and well cooked. Would recommend adding the caramelised onions as an extra! We also had desserts - my husband had the cappuccino sundae and it was huge. I had the chocolate brownie with raspberries which was a special that day - whoever made that brownie needs a medal or something because it was so so so so nice.

Very friendly and helpful staff. With a blind and disabled brother, and a 90 yr old frail Mum, they couldn't have been more helpful and kind. All of the food we had was good, well prepared and served and enjoyed by all. They even had a bottle of Fernet Branca, which for me is a sign of an Italian restaurant knowing what their customers might need. Excellent. Would recommend highly.

We took the advice in the window and made a booking. We were glad we did, because the restaurant was very busy even at 7pm on a Monday in September. The Thai food may not be the most authentic, but it was very nice, and the atmosphere is pleasant. The house wine in carafe is good and reasonably priced.

A good restaurant in a lovely village. The welcome is friendly, the menu is an intriguing mix of Italian and Thai. There are several restaurants in Beer but this is the one we went back to.
