Antonio's in East Devon

Clean, well presented, really Friendly staff with a good of drinks, ice creams and cakes. I went with a luxury hot chocolate and marshmallow cake, my daughter had blueberry cheesecake and milkshake made with her choice of fresh ice cream made on the premises snd my boring husband had a pot of tea, which he topped off with a not so boring banana cake. It was all delicious and the best find of the day

This is my new go to in town. Fantastic food for a great price, cheaper than other cafes locally, particularly on the strand! They even do a panini of the day and coffee deal which is crazy cheap! Italian, so great coffee and food taste. Lovely staff, happy to help and they currently have italian students doing work experience, which is such a great opportunity to offer to them Only worry about leaving this review is that it gets popular and I can't always get a seat here! So glad I checked it out after they changed names from Antonio's, as it is a little gem.

Went to get an ice cream about 10 minutes ago. I bit into the cone but something hard was in the ice cream. I thought it was my tooth at first, turns out it was a fingernail. Didn't go back because we were in the car. Vile. It was the lemon and blueberry flavour

Very good coffee and ice cream. Wasn’t sure about cakes but they look so good so had to try them and didn’t disappoint at all. Regret now of not taking photos to show how good they looked at my plate. Will definitely come back and try their food. Staff very pleasant and very welcoming

Very good place for food and $$$. Since been take over I am here every morning for a coffee and cakes. The best coffee in town and honestly its not possible to find better in Exmouth . Highly recommend

they attract customers with italian style and all they have is polish cakes and bad coffees, I don't recommend this place fake italian all pink that kills my soul, no no no no no no coming back again, better places in Exmouth to pay reasonable prices for a better service . I would give zero stars if i could!

Nice atmosphere & food people very nice too

The best ice cream in Exmouth. Proper home made Gelato. Delicious! An amazing array of flavours (more in the Summer season). If you love good ice cream, don't go anywhere else in Exmouth! I've tried every flavour and the only one I don't like is bubblegum. If you want a better ice cream, you'll have to go to Italy.....

Ever since I ice cream in Italy I have been hooked on Italian Ice cream. Stumbled upon this place just off the square and was able to grab two cones before bus came. Biggest problem is choosing a flavour. Had watermelon and key lime pie in the end. Good size as well.

I persuaded my partner to eat and have a drink there as he is half Italian! He wasn’t that hungry so I decided to order the Nachos with melted cheese at £4.50 but toppings are 75p each extra! Went for sour cream and jalapeños. He wanted an iced mint frappe, which is said to be £4.50 on the menu, I had a simple black tea, asked if they any lemon to put in it but alas no! Clearly lemons don’t exist in Italy, wonder how they make their lemon sorbet?! I had to wait ages as there was only one girl in the cafe serving a very large ice cream order, there was a lad walking back and forth but I wasn’t acknowledged. Eventually the young lad came behind the counter, as I was about to leave I might add! He was polite but clearly not been there long as was unsure on the prices and menu, but wrote my order down and an older gent came out from the back. The lad asked if he could have some help as he was unsure so I went and sat down. Young lady brought my tea and she was polite and smiled. The nachos arrived next but were unceremoniously dumped on the table with no napkins! Well, there was just a large handful of mostly broken nachos in a bowl with a sprinkling of cheese, I’m going with cheddar as it definitely wasn’t stringey gooey mozzarella, just a small sprinkling that covered about 8 nachos! There were 10 pieces of jalapeño! Yes I counted! It wasn’t difficult! The soured cream was from a squirty bottle! Not fresh! Tasteless, as was the cheese, and the nachos were cheap cardboard things. I was hungry so I ate them, plus I hate seeing food go to waste no matter how bad it is! My partner said there wasn’t much in the bowl and had his fair share but yes, we had to fight over the jalapeños! In the meantime the lovely young lady came out with my partners frappe. Polite, smiley, she apologised that it was in a plastic beaker saying she didn’t know we were sitting down and asked if he wanted a spoon to eat the cream with. Lovely. Made the visit! Asked for napkins from the lad and he pointed to a table inside so my partner had to get up and go get some! This is the worst bit! Whilst we were eating we saw, three times! The older guy and twice the lad, they came out of the cafe and threw shop waste in the public bin on the square!!!!!! The last time the poor lad, who clearly was embarrassed and just doing as he was told, came out with a large tray of waste coffee granules and kitchen waste and had to spoon it as carefully as he could through the small opening in the bin! Consequently it went all down the stainless steel bin and all over the pavement!!! Along with several sugar wrappers!!! We asked him on his return why and he said he didn’t know why they didn’t use their own bins, he was just doing as he was told. Shame! Utterly flabagasted and equally annoyed! Just shocking!

We visited yesterday for a post swim snack and in the words of our 8 year old “this ice cream is the best ice cream I’ve ever tasted in the whole world and I would give it 110 million out of 10”!!! Thank you! We will be back for sure!!

That's all there is to say! So yummy, I'd go back for seconds. Generous portion size. Varied flavours, sorbet, and vegan choices.

walked past Antonios and saw a lot of people outside on the seating area in front of the shop eating Gelato and the portions in the cones were massive. we continued shopping and saw some ice cream stands in market and shops but none looked as good as Antonios, so we went back and had 2 scoops each 1 bubblegum the other birthday cake flavour, both amazing, the birthday cake one was particularly delicious, so much flavour, tasted just like cake mix, took me back to being a child and being allowed to lick the bowl when a cake had been made. We met the owner who told us he makes all the Gelato in house and doesn't know what flavours he will make each day , he said he started with 15 and now has 270 if I remember correctly so if your lucky enough to be in Exmouth Antonios is deffo worth a visit, I will be going back on next holiday to try even more flavours.

It did cheer them up. Not every ice cream would have worked so well! Yours is excellent. We really appreciate your kindness.

The service was superb. The choice is incredible and so big, have one of the ice cream sundaes and you will enjoy a great ice cream, best I've tasted in a long time!

Best coffee and Italian ice cream in Exmouth.

A good weather day forecast, so a last minute day off to visit this fabulous shop! An hour and a half down the M5 and we arrived. The ice cream never fails to disappoint - had the chocolate orange wagon wheel today - sublime! Ever thought of opening a shop in Bristol????

Really good service with friendly workers. The milkshakes are delicious and stupendous! Don’t arksed questions, just go.

It is a truly wonderful gem with indoor / outdoor seating. The service is very personal and friendly and the ice creams (homemade on the premises and a staggering ever changing variety) is famous around here

Had 2 scoops of the Dairy-free Strawberry and the Salted Caramel - Delicious! Wouldn't guess it was dairy-free at all, very very yummy! Quick service with friendly staff. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Walked down to Antonio's with my daughter for an ice cream and it was lovely sat outside in the sunshine The peach sorbet was AMAZING! Lots of choice and very generous portions.When I've been to Antonios before the people have been really friendly but they were not as welcoming which was a shame but they may have been having a bad day. I would definitely go back.

Fablus service offered for what can only be described as wonderful ice cream!! Birthday treat for an 82 year old, delivered on time and so well presented in a thermal box with 2 x types of cones, 3 x fudge fingers and 3 x flakes. Six flavours chosen and all were totally delicious, the Thatchers Haze with clotted cream being my fave :-) Well done and thanks for all you are doing, greatly appreciated.

A friendly place that serves very good coffee,unfortunately it was too cold and windy for even a greedy ice cream addict like me to have ice cream on this trip but it looked as good as ever.

Antonios is a very friendly cafe. Its like a large family. The hot choc is to die for. Ive just got one gripe there is one member of staff who has the very long nails which are very brightly painted i dont think it is very professional but it wont stop me coming in

Amazing Selection of Flavour especially love the Green Apple Flavour. They also do some great seasonal flavours such as Creme Egg at Easter and Mulled Wine at Christmas.

Having actually drank coffee in all kinds of places all over East Devon in the last few months this is literally the best. Staff are also super friendly.Ice creams look amazing.My 18 year old got a whole tub from of carrot cake ice cream for his 18th birthday (amongst a few other things!) and was delighted!Totally recommend.

Always has a range of fraught beers on and at an excellent price. Food is good especially deals of the day, mainly good range and service plus there is something for everyone’s budget.

A wide range of inventive ice cream is always available and the menu changes very regularly. For instance, this last week I a scoop of orange and Cointreau with a scoop of carrot cake ice creams.

Poor, such a shame as this is our returning visit as the first time was great. But no we won't be returning. The Latte was luke warm and barely drinkable. We both had toasties and each had no butter and really not at all Italian style.

We decided to relive our youth and order a knickerbocker glory and a banana split, we weren’t disappointed although my husband had food envy when he saw my banana split

What a shame as I was really looking forward to tasting some great Italian ice cream on a rather hot day but sadly it was not to be.I chose the Mint/Chocolate one and to be honest I think it was the worst one I've tasted, such a pity.Fine, there was a hint of mint in the ice cream but the chocolate part........Of chocolate per se there was no evidence just some rather strange tiny brown granule things which weren't particularly pleasant and certainly didn't taste of chocolate.A great disappointment, sadly.

The ice creams here are amazing. I wish I'd taken a photo! They are expensive, compared to other ice cream sellers in Exmouth but they do have a loyalty card so that if you buy 9 you get the next one free. The coffee here is also nice.

We enjoyed a tasty bowl of soup with fresh bread.Coffee is good and the home made ice cream is fabulous,a really good selection. It is a family run cafe and very friendly and justifiably popular.

The venue is attractive, the prices reasonable, the staff very nice and the dark chocolate was the best I have had. I thoroughly recommend it, in fact it is a must try!

After passing so many times and looking at what was on offer I decided to try a toastie from Antonios during my work lunch to take away (3rd sept 2018 - 1.30pm ish). I have had good service previously when buying ice cream. I had no reason to think I wouldnt have good service this time.

Went in here today to sample coffee and ice cream after reading reviews. After standing waiting to be served for a long while given there was only one other customer as well as us to be served we gave up and went else where. Ice cream flavours I could see weren’t really the best choice I’ve experienced so I wasn’t too bothered that we missed out. Won’t be back

Antonio's has a great selection of ice creams and sorbets and was pointed out on our trip on the land train around Exmouth

We were recommended this place as having the best coffee in Exmouth by the excellent lady tour guide on the land train, and she was spot on.

It was my first time here a couple months ago and it is such a Lovely cafe , has amazing ice cream that has a variety of flavours. Nachos were lovely and the hot chocolates were thick and yummy ! Had a great time would 10/10 recommend

I popped in for a snack lunch. I had the nachos with guacamole. I think that was probably a poor choice as I could have had something more home cooked, but that was my fault. Nevertheless, it was tasty and filling. However, the hot chocolate was on another planet. One big problem I have is getting cafes and restaurants to make drinks hot enough. There was no issue here. Not only was it delicious but it was piping hot. One small criticism is that the décor isn't particularly relaxing but it is what it is.

Great cafe. Lovely friendly atmosphere. Genuine Italian coffee. Wonderful variety of made on the premises ice-cream. Cosy and extremely clean inside cafe, tables and chairs outside for a lovely relaxing time. Antonio himself usually there making his fabulous ice-cream and popping out to chat to customers. He has a great sense of humour. You mustn't fail to visit while in exmouth. It's a real gem of a place.

Popped in for a coffee and a pastry (both excellent). Easy-going bonhomie, good chat with owners and regulars, and was really taken with fun display of local kids' competition entries to raise funds for local causes. Authentic Devon/Italian cafe without trying too hard - a real antidote to nearby chain options.

Popped in for an impromptu ice cream as you do on a freezing cold day and had the pleasure of meeting the proprietor and creator of the varied icecreams. 14 varieties in the winter and over a hundred in the summer. The ice cream was delicious, and the owner a pleasure to meet. He even used us to test/taste a new line Lemon Drizzle and it was lovely. Top marks, we will be returning.

I honestly think Antonio's serves the best coffee in Exmouth. And I have never tasted a sorbet which tastes so creamy! AMAZING! keep it up guys!

Came here for an italian coffee in the morning with my wife. Staff very jolly and welcoming. Ordered black coffee and it was very good and really enjoyed it.

We were impressed with the coffee here,my espresso was very good .The owner's are very friendly and welcoming and the salami bagel was tasty,Hopefully we will try some of their fabulous sounding Christmas ice cream flavours on our next visit.

I just came across this place by accident, the owner tells me they make over 100 different flavours of ice cream, not all at once. There were some very different ones on sale and I chose English trifle which was lovely and authentic tasting

I have been going to this welcoming cafe since it opened. My children love the constantly changing range of homemade ice creams and the teddy bear cone is always a winner for my 6 year old. I love the coffee and a chance to have a chat with Tony and his team of staff.

Took my partner here for her birthday (She wanted really nice ice cream -low maintenance!) We couldn't fault Antonio's at all. My partner had her ice cream and I had a panini which was absolutely scrumptious and our coffees were superb. The service was fast and friendly throughout and the number of people present was an indication of how popular it is. Thoroughly recommended.

Superb pistachio ice cream, my favourite flavour which is difficult to find. The staff were pleasant, helpful and courteous. We look forward to our next visit to Exmouth and Antonio's.

They have the best ice cream i have had in a long time. There are so many different flavours and it was a lovely warm day we were able to sit outside looking over the square.
