I arrived at the cafe with my son, and we were immediately told to move to a smaller table even though the cafe was empty. They asked if I could wait until 12pm for lunch, so I said I'd order drinks in the meantime. My son (aged 7) was finishing off a last bite of a sausage roll from the bakery and the waiter was very abrupt about no food from other places. We left and consequently they lost perhaps £20 in sale. I just felt like we were a hassle to and contrary to the sign saying 'all are welcome' we felt anything but.

I was told to leave after I said I didn't trust them with my food. I am a coeliac and they offer gluten free. But after telling them this they then put a gluten bourbon cream on my drink. I explained that due to cross contamination I could no longer accept the drink and the waiter was both dismissive and rude. I then went to the counter to cancel my food as they clearly do not take medical conditions or allergies seriously and was told I could just leave. And they were very rude. When my friends went to cancel their food because of the rude attitude they were told it was to late as the kitchen was already making it. If you have any allergy or medical condition AVOID this place.

I visited for lunch with the family and first time of having lunch here. I ordered the mushroom and leek pastry which comes with chips and salad. Three salad dressings were offered on the salad and I chose the orange dressing but could have also chosen garlic or chilli to dress the salad. The whole meal was very tasty and of good quality and nicely presented. Fantastic chips too. Staff very friendly too and nothing is too much trouble for them. Will definitely be back there if visiting Seaton again.

We visited this cafe last year and couldn't wait to go again. We were staying in Sidmouth and caught the bus to Seaton. The cafe is opposite the bus stop. Splendid coffee and cakes taken on the terrace in the sunshine. After a good walk along the prom and back through the town we returned for a lovely light lunch. The atmosphere was friendly and chatty and we noticed there were several locals using it who appeared to be regulars. We will definitely return there on our next visit.

We pre booked for lunch in this lovely Veg/Vegan restaurant where we have been on many occasions in the past. The staff are so pleasant, helpful and very professional. I had courgette fritters which were served on a bed of salad leaves, and with dressing and dips. The fritters were cooked to perfection and very tasty. My wife had mini mezze which was also very tasty. For pudding we had cinnamon and walnut sponge with ice cream - delicious! Another lovely and perfect experience in Terrace Arts Cafe and we will be returning again soon.

We have lived in the area now for 5 years. And have found the people to generally be welcoming and kind. Which is why it saddens me so much to have had such an awful experience the terrace arts cafe today. I have 2 autistic kids on our first and last visit to this establishment one of them was very disregulated. We were accosted by the manager and verbally abused. She shouted in our faces. When I got up to Challenge her and explain that my kids are autistic and just needed time to settle she told me she did not care and she had other customers. I sincerely hope that these other customers take note of this kind of ablist attitude and do not frequent this place and support such toxic and prejudiced views. I will be leaving reviews on this pkace on Every forum I can find so others know to avoud it and are not subjected to the abuse me and my family were. It is not good for the otherwise inclusive and friendly people of the area and a bad example to thise visiting the area. I will also be contacting all the autism groups to let them know how this establishment treats people with nuerodivergeent traits.

Very good value - wholesome food - carefully prepared - allergy aware We visited on a sunny September afternoon and sat out on the front balcony which provides a good view of the seafront. We were attracted by the ‘gluten free’ menu choices and found a good selection of tempting choices - reasonably priced. Our meal was freshly prepared and soon served - and were very much appreciated. Delicious GF garlic bread accompaniment. Polite and courteous service - a very agreeable experience and we hope to return Thank you

Three of us had walked from Axmouth to Seaton to enjoy the walk and some friendly chat with a view to getting refreshment before walking back. Spotted this little place & there was an outdoor seating area free. The lady was just sanitising the seats and table & welcomed us in. Very friendly atmosphere & we all selected different food from the menu & selected drinks. Tempted two of us to have a cocktail - amazing choice & we were even advised that the alcoholic content was not minimal. All the food was freshly made and served as well as, if not better, than a very expensive restaurant. Mixtures of salads and dressings were not only so very tasty but colourful too. The service was professional and friendly - the lovely lady there even asked if we would like a group photo which was great as we rarely, especially at present, get out together. For the setting, service and quality of food, the value was outstanding. The toilet facilities as well as the rest of the eating area appeared immaculate and spotlessly clean. THANK YOU FOR MAKING OUR DAY..

Unlike my family, I'm not a vegetarian/ vegan, but I've always found the food delicious with lots to appeal to me, the Buddha bowl this week was fantastic - like a really decent antipasti selection with a quality salad. The coffee is good. The nice thing is that there is such a good choice that we can all have a great meal together, they do some lovely gluten free variations on dishes as well. This quirky café on the seafront is well worth a visit. The staff were incredibly friendly and totally aware of the gluten-free needs of someone with Coeliac. Nearly every item on the menu has a GF option. We chose a ploughman's platter and a tapas platter with hummus, falafels, olives etc. The quality of the GF bread was excellent and the portions were generous. We had a couple of bottles of Stella (it would have been nice to have a 'real ale' option as well).

A big group of us ate here.... a combo of vegetarians / Vegans & Omnivores. Everyone was really happy with their meals. I had the pesto pasta made vegan - The nicest pesto I've had in a resturant. Service wasnt speedy - but we were in no rush. Lots to look at and admire. There is a little bit of outdoor seating in the sun if you are lucky enough to nab it. The owner is vegan and preparation is strict. Its won awards for celiac preparation too!

This cafe has a lovely feel about it. Although short staffed on our arrival, they were apologetic and attentive. The food is great, loads of choice if you are veggie or vegan. Reasonable prices too. I would highly recommend it here, if you're looking for something other than a greasy spoon for lunch or a cuppa.

All 8 of us thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Delicious food and friendly service combined with interesting interior made it a great place to stop. Good range of vegan and veggie choices, all generous portions and fairly priced.

We travelled down from Oxford and arrived too early to book into the premier inn, so went for a walk and look for a cuppa and lunch, we only wanted a sandwich, O boy what a delight, fresh vegan brown bread with cheese salad with tomato, tortia crisps and a strawberry, it was delicious, hubby had cheese on toast, well a doorstep toast this was dripping with cheese and again delicious, a bowl of chips to share which we definitely didn't need, tea and coffee, this place is a little gem, two lovely polite young men who seemed to be very much in control .

Visited for my birthday with 3 friends. We all had different dishes and we all loved our food. There was such a wide choice it took us all a long time to make up our minds.

This is a gem of a village pub, warm & friendly. A good mix of locals and visitors. It had been recommended by our helpful landlady at the Little Clyst William Farm Barn just up the road. We weren’t disappointed. My husband had the ‘whale of Cod’ which lived up to its name, the batter was very light and the cod perfect. I had a lovely chicken dish. We returned two days later, this time I had the Buddha Bowl which was really interesting with a cold side & hot side divided by roasted new potatoes and topped with a delicious tahini sauce, my husband had the steak pie, a real pie with a top & bottom and lovely pastry. We never usually have puddings at restaurants but we were won over by a beautiful roulade and a honeycombe cheesecake that was really light and had lots of lovely crunchie toppings. We were really impressed on our second visit when the staff had remembered my husband couldn’t eat raw onion and came to check if that applied to cooked onion too as it was present in the steak pie. Add to this great service, and managing to have a chat while obviously really busy. We only wish we lived nearer as we’d love to try the Christmas menu.
