This is simply our favourite pub...I have lost count how many times we have been here and we don't even live close! We travel from Sussex several times a year, a good 3 hour drive and the Masons Arms is a MUST for us each and every time! We have since bought many family and friends here too. Always a great menu and great service. My 12 year old daughter is a huge fan of your padron peppers and chorizo bites! This is the epitome of a quaint English village pub with all the character you would expect and we absolutely love it. Hopefully we'll be back in August next. (Ps If you could bring back your epic ploughman's youd get 6*!!)

Absolutely fabulous. Great location, amazing huge beach a few minutes away, rooms both in the pub and in the cottages, are exceptional. Huge comfortable beds, lovely bathrooms. Food is wonderful and the service is excellent. The owner is very switched on and the rest of the staff are polite and friendly. Good choice of beers and wine, many local. We had a great dinner and a lovely breakfast. All I really need to say is that I really want to go back to the Mason's Arms.

Restaurant reservation was made last week and when we arrived no recollection of our booking staff running around like headless chickens table was found …. The main conversation on the phone was a vegan selection …. Nothing on on the menu but the only person probably the manager or owner who went out of his way to get something made …. waiting staff needed a time in charm school …. No one asked if we wanted more drinks several dissatisfied customers around us all offered there meals to be taken off the bill …. Including us free drinks and the claggy brûlée taken off …. A great shame ….

A fantastically beautiful pub, both inside and out. It's definitely worth a visit. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to eat in the restaurant area because we hadn't made a reservation. I have no idea why such a difference is made. The new employee and the boss were very obliging. They even made a fire in the fireplace because it was quite chilly in the restaurant. The food was outstanding, excellent! We ate shakshuka and kofta kebab. No, it's not a Turkish restaurant. It has the normal pub classics. But the two specialities more than convinced us. There is also local ale from Branscobe. We'll be back again.

What an absolutely amazing place the Masons Arms is. We booked to go to a wedding in the area and we were not disappointed at all. The guy booking us in Connor was friendly and extremely helpful. Our room was beautiful and immaculately clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Our room (26) was above the pub itself but this didn't really impact us other than a little bit of noise at clearing up time but we did have all the windows open. The bar and food were excellent. Ben the bar guy was very helpful in how to order etc. A beautiful village setting and a short walk to a lovely beach. We will certainly be coming back here for another stay.

Love this place, although this time turned up as a walk in and was told they could only serve burgers and chips because they’re fully booked…when it’s dead outside on the terrace…then my girlfriend went to order said burger and they refused even that. Stayed here and "ate in" - in a relaxed informal restaurant . Impressed with bespoke breakfast (no need for lunch) and dinner - the moules were the best I have tasted for a long time - and as for the jolly Spanish waitress. Would recommend and hope to return. Our stay in one of the classic rooms at The Mason’s Arms was fantastic. So much thought has gone into the decor. The room had everything we could need, including a well stocked mini bar, tea and coffee station, iron and ironing board, shower essentials, and my personal favorite, a stamped postcard as a thoughtful touch. Despite a wet weekend, we enjoyed exploring the stunning countryside surrounding the inn, including a lovely walk to the beach. Afterwards we dried off and enjoyed some games in the cosy pub. The breakfast was exceptional, starting with a continental spread followed by a choice of cooked options, all accompanied by tea, coffee, and a hydration station with water, apple, and orange juice. David and his team went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect on all occasions. We dined at The Mason’s Arms both nights, once in the restaurant and the second time in the bar area. It was really beautifully decorated and fully equipped with everything we needed, plus a beautiful outdoor area which we loved relaxing in. We sat out one evening with a cuppa and could hear owls and saw some bats as well! Breakfast was included in our stay and was one of the best I've ever had during a stay in the UK. We loved the food so much we ate there every night for dinner too! The location is brilliant. A lovely, quiet villagey feel and we loved being so close by to Branscombe beach. Fabulous one-nighter with the family, service excellent and food great. All round a winner. Location was just perfect and bedrooms sumptuous with adjoining rooms. Thank you!

We have been visiting Branscombe for over 30 years but had never visited the Masons Arms. We decided to have our anniversary dinner at the Masons and we had a really lovely evening. The staff were very friendly (and didn't mind the dog!) and the food was delicious; my husband said that the steak was the best he had ever had and my linguine dish was very tasty. We will definitely be back.

What a lovely place to stay! The Mason’s Arms really delivered for our recent short break, the setting in Branscombe village is idilic and just a 10 minute traffic free walk to the beach. The cosy double room was well appointed, clean and very quiet. Staff are well trained and very friendly. I recommend booking a table for dinner as the pub does get very busy. We hope to return and would definitely recommend.

Interesting old pub, refurbished to a high standard, with friendly staff & superb food. The homemade scotch eggs are highly recommended but the menu provides a variety of seasonal dishes and irresistible desserts - including a panna cotta with rhubarb.

Gingerbread house cafe is a lovely local coffee/breakfast/lunch spot on the high st, just up from the beach. I recently ordered a cream tea for two box to be delivered to my mother for her birthday as I live far away. She loved it, it was fresh and delicious and included sandwiches, scones, clotted cream and all the fixings, and she couldn’t have been happier to be surprised on her birthday with a friendly face and a special delivery. They are also very active in the community and offered free lunches for school kids during Covid. A great cafe!
