Barrel O' Beer in East Devon

A definite stop whilst in the village of Beer. Local ale and amazingly friendly staff. "We had a Beer, in Beer at The Barrel of Beer" 🍻

Not a particularly friendly atmosphere, we were looking forward to visiting but unfortunately was not met with the welcome we hoped for

Nice traditional pub in the middle of Beer with a pool table, darts and a jukebox. A good selection of beers including Otter brewery bitter which was spot on. They don't do food but do sell excellent pork pies and other bar snacks. The barmaid was very friendly and efficient and the toilets were spotlessly clean. 10 / 10 👍🍺😋

We had to have a pint of beer at the Barrel of Beer in Beer. Lovely atmosphere. Welcoming staff.

Just popped in for a couple of beers. Service was excellent and so to was the drinks. A must visit when in Beer.!!

Great choice of beer and good prices. Bit of a kindergarten vibe to start with, toddlers running around but better after they went.

What a horribly rude lady behind the bar! My mother in law and I sat down for all of two minutes before she yelled across the bar ‘are you two going to buy something or just sit there’. We told her we were waiting for two others (my partner and his father) to which she then said I wasn’t allowed to stay inside as I had a quarter of an ice cream I was eating at the time. Apparently it would ‘set everyone else off’. We gladly walked out and the four of us got some pints at the Dolphin hotel down the road which were fabulous. Disappointing as were Australians who are used to awesome pubs.

If you want to have a beer in Beer.. Then this is the place for you, and you can get a T shirt to prove it..! Lies in the middle of beer high street with good access to the local area walks and beaches, friendly and welcoming staff and dog friendly 👍🐶🍻( and don't forget to checkout the Beer Bomb...!)

No food is served here so I cannot review it, but they are missing out big time, many years ago they used to provide cheap and cheerful food at lunch and in the evening. Great pub for drinks and many locals seem to visit, good choice of ales and pool table

Great service and amazing lady working behind the bar, really friendly. Drinks were a good price. Even water bowls for the dogs.

If you are a fan of cask ales and in the area a visit to this small old pub is a must. Locatrd in the centre of this touristy village Friendly and knowledgeable staff

What a boozer! Faaaaaaaantastic. Becca and Molly are two of the best bar staff i've been served by in a very long time. The locals are welcoming and very interesting to listen to about their fishing trips and they enjoy a pint! Right up my street.

Marvelous atmosphere and good quality real ales. Proper pub.

The barman was great, food is not served , but it was so quiet, no background music and we felt like we were sitting in a library!. Definitely a wasted opportunity.

Independent pub in Beer which makes an option against the bigger branded pubs in the village. Has a local feel, beers well kept and sourced locally

Very good Guinness, and loved the idea of pickled egg in a bag of crisps. Combo of that and the Guiness might have been a touch explosive!

We stopped off a couple of times whilst on holiday, the gentleman ( sorry but didn't know his name) who served us on the 3 occasions was friendly, professional and helpful. The building inside and outside was clean and tidy and very welcoming. Would definitely recommend you pop in for a drink and a chat. Sorry couldn't give 5 stars for food because unfortunately they didn't do any but I'm sure it would have been great

Came to watch the City game and Dutch GP, they were both playing which was ideal. Not too busy, big screens and enough volume on the Tv. Great service and great atmosphere 👍

Nice evening playing darts,nice spread at end of evening,always good when we play here.

Grabbed a bench out front of the Barrel ( only two available ). Spotlessly clean, great front of house staff and servers. Had a couple of rounds of drinks and crab sandwiches and chips. All the sea food is from Beer Fisheries LTD, which is a stones throw down the road! Needless to say the crab was delicious! Don’t walk past this gem of a pub.

Finally found a place serving fresh local fish. None in Lyme unless Michelin Star or Charmouth. This pub had the most delicious fresh local hake. Really fresh whit meat and so satisfying. Washed down with a pint of Otter and local cider. Highly recommended.

Clean and welcoming. Excellent selection of beverages very keenly priced. Light snacks - not complete meals but very good value

Had the most amazing avocado crab and prawn salad ever beautiful buttered new potatoes gorgeous creamy coleslaw washed down with a lovely pint of Branscombe bitter Truly outstanding excellent staff will be back again

It was lovely to have a drink in what I would call a proper pub as I remember them. Good beer, charming barmaids and obviously well liked by the locals.

Popped in on Saturday afternoon after a walk around the town and beach with the family for the obligatory beer in Beer at the Barrel O' Beer and had a lovely pint of local (Otter) ale whilst watching the rugby on the big tv! Staff were friendly and the pub was clean and welcoming. Will visit again when down this neck of the woods.

Popped in here around 12:00 on a Monday, just had a coffee. Fire was lit, cosy, clean and a warm welcome from the young lady behind the bar. A few locals in for early doors we had a chat and met some well behaved, pub trained dogs (Locals not residents)! Butch, the least butch dog you can imagine and Trevor. Easily the friendliest pub in Beer and the only pub that I’m leaving a review for as the others were nothing special.

Cosy, warm and inviting. Barrel O Beer was a welcome sight on our cold trip to Beer last weekend. We had a drink by the fire and played Pool on a newish table and had a lit of fun. Very friendly bar lady and lots of gins to choose from. Well happy

Wonderful little pub with a huge selection of local drinks whether you are after cider, beer, spirits and wine. It's a great place to sit outside and people watch with your drinks.

Was recommended as we wanted local Beer Crab sandwiches. Wasn’t disappointed, very fresh well packed sandwich with choice of white or granary, a small side salad and some crisps. Shame there isn’t more outside seating but you can’t change the position it’s it!!!

This was a great place to stop and have fish and chips, on an outdoor bench overlooking the main street in Beer, watching the people go by. Good food and good experience.

We enjoyed two very good pub meals here, both fish dishes were fresh and tasted very good. The portions were on the slightly large side.

Lovely old style pub in Beer. The guy working in there was very nice and we had a very nice a fresh crab sandwich. The chips were good as well. If you are in Beer 🍺 have a Beer 🍺 at the Barrel of Beer ehehehe
