Just read the last review and must say that it is exactly the opposite experience for us. Everything was brilliant from ordering a drink then deciding to eat. Staff lovely. The atmosphere was great busy. Food excellent. I don't do many reviews but really needed to do this one. Well done the Red Lion

Got shown to our table and was waiting 20 minutes and still no one had given us menus or offered drinks!!! Went to bar to let them know this and clearly we were forgotten about as straight away a waitress came with our menus and took our drink orders. Not the best customer service!!!

Been here a few times now for Sunday lunch and enjoyed it every time. Nice big portions, food is hot and great quality. Staff and building very nice. Recommend.

This is the place for a fantastic roast. Do not decide to go unless you have booked a table. Delicious .. It's dog friendly if you ask for a dog table when you book and child friendly too with lots of high chairs.

Lovely pub with a friendly welcome. Our reservation for a table of 14 wasn’t in the diary properly, but that was quickly sorted, thankfully! The pub was very busy so service was a bit slow at times but the staff were lovely and helpful. We were in a small room at the back which was great for our family gathering, but there were drops of water (roof leak / condensation) dripping on the table. Food was lovely. The roast was served with fabulous vegetables and huge Yorkshire puddings. Very generous portion sizes. We’ll be back!

Friendly efficient staff. Fast friendly service and quite the most delicious Sunday lunch ever. Huge plates piled high with perfectly cooked beef, crunchy spuds (a rarity in pubs), HUGE Yorkshire pud and five extra veggies (including delicious cauliflower cheese). All swimming in gorgeous gravy. Just PERFECT. We were all not visiting the area to go walking but we will return (even though we live 1.5 hours away). Thank you team Red Lion.

A chilly family walk to this very dog friendly pub for Sunday Lunch. The Red Lion is a traditional country pub. This is our nieces local and regular haunt. The Roast is amazing. Regular or small plates to cater for different appetites. You can also request extra veg and gravy. The dogs were given some crackling too. It is a very popular pub so booking is advised. It is refreshing for a pub to be so welcoming to muddy boots and dogs. Brilliant, friendly staff and great service. Planning our next visit already!

Following a bad experience at this pub a few years ago we decided to try it again over Christmas and this time it was lovely. We were a family of 15, and they did an amazing job. The food was fantastic, and the service was excellent. I am pleased to say we will be returning. There is a 10% service charge but this can be removed. However after our visit we were happy to pay because every thing was excellent.

I spend time in The Red Lion Inn .This is a beautiful place. The rooms ,were comfort. Tha services are satisfied . I must recommanded for this hotel because its a affordable.

Met up with a friend for lunch here. Menus is good pub grub and seemed like it was all homemade. I had ham egg and chips and couldn't finish it! My friend had the burger and the patties looked homemade. We both had sticky toffee pudding with ice cream to finish. Service was friendly but not overbearing.

Excellent Christmas done for the team of 15 at work for festive lunch, multiple other parties there too. Traditional home cooked food lots of it yum. My only comments was: if you are tall you have to duck...a lot. (I am 6'4" tall) accept this is a personal thing and cannot be changed by the establishment. Thank you.

We eat here all the time. Staff are amazing can’t do enough for you. Roast is a game changer delicious. Everything is fresh hot and very tasty. I always compare every place I go to here. My husband loves the pork and I love the beef.

Came here for the first time, had been recommended and we were not disappointed. The food was delicious, well cooked a plenty of it. So much so, none of our family were able to have a pudding. Nice selection of vegetables for a Sunday roast. Best pub roast I have had. Staff very polite and helpful, great service. Would definitely come back here again.

The Red Lion is our favourite pub . The food is always excellent, & with imaginative selections on the menus. Another bonus is the friendly staff, Mandy, Rita, (new Lady) & Cally, who is from today moving on to further her career. She will be missed by us but has promised to see us at the Red Lion when she can.

We had a lovely time at The Red Lion for dinner. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our waiter Matt was especially good with service and made our visit very enjoyable. The food was tasty and good value for money. Would definitely eat here again.

Pluses stunning view of the local church on a cobbled courtyard. We have visited the pub very regularly and the chap who runs the bar is great and the young team also - food is tasty and homemade although trying to call and book is impossible. The BAD side of this place is what I believe is the landlord - older greying chap - rude,rude,rude. We have cancelled a large booking off the back of this unsightly chap. The menu said kitchen closed at 7pm but we still wanted to call and double check to avoid any disappointment, sadly no one picked up the call after a few attempts. Still gave it a go and got to the inn at around 6.20pm. The young waitress saw us, hesitated and suspiciously replied with "we are too busy" and sent us away (while she was just chatting with her other colleagues behind the bar). The pub did look relatively empty! If you don't want to serve or expected to be very busy every Sunday evening, don't just lie, I would suggest you to update your website accordingly.

Never stays, had a couple if drinks and dinner. Couple of real ales, Tribute being one when we visited. Do many small meals at around £9 to £10 which is an excellent idea, especially if you want a starter or dessert also. Very friendly staff, chatted about the beer and cream teas. Good value, never felt over expensive. Outside seating to front of pub and what looked like a garden across the way. Parking for several cars. Worth a visit

Traditional Sunday lunch was really good. A nice portion of meat and roasties with a Yorkshire pudding and a great selection of veg on the side. The puddings were very generous. Booking is a must or you may be disappointed, as we witnessed. The staff were busy but very attentive.

Late review as I actually stayed a couple of nights in April. This was a business trip so I stayed alone. I remember the amazing porridge for breakfast very well! I asked for a banana to go in it and the lady offered to chop it up for me. Note in the room said the tea and coffee tray could be replenished, so I (kind of) jokingly asked if that included the homemade shortbread… they immediately gave me more! The room was perfect, service was fantastic. Only thing I could really diss is location as I ran on country lanes in the evening but that’s really not the end of the world! I really enjoyed my stay.
