Nice town centre pub, great food at reasonable prices for a town centre pub, one of my usual drinking places years ago, pop in more for food these days, still run by Mandy , who remembered me even though rarely in the pub for last 15 years, Bar staff are great, mainly been served by Megan and Sian , both are diamonds and friendly with it, even if it’s busy and they are rushed off their feet, maybe been served by 2 others once or twice and again are friendly , making up a great team, Some days / times it can be quiet , but that’s not necessarily a bad thing , Would readily recommend Only downside Stella no longer served, but many pubs don’t either So I just switch to cider Sometimes when busy there can be a wait, again that is a good sign, that your food is done fresh and not being re heated or worse microwaved to death Been to some places akin to fast food outlet , food out within 10 mins , and taste that matches the quickness / red hot/ bland and dry usually ! I’d rather wait for freshly cooked food 😁

Stayed overnight in the carpark in our camper. (BRIT STOPS) We found the pub very welcoming right from the minute we walked in. The Publican was great, the other local patrons were great as well. We ate the delicious food from the menu which rated very highly in our UK experience. Decor inside the pub was interesting and there is a massive collection of vinyl LPs with one on the turntable constantly. Highly recommend this pub for food, friendliness and comfort ... 🍽🍺🇦🇺

I don’t often leave feedback but on this occasion feel I have to, in the hope that management take on board at least some of the issues and try to improve staff attitudes. We had booked an Easter bank holiday lunch with family converging from Bristol, Bath and Oxford. As we were a large group (of 10) the hotel asked us to pre-order. Arriving early; my wife went to find the loo and I went on to the Brasserie with our nephew & niece (6 & 11) but was left waiting like a lemon for more than five minutes, as no one showed us to our table - while the children were getting ‘twitchy’. There were several members of staff discussing something round the till but then they all went off in different directions. They kept on walking past us while studiously avoiding eye contact. I eventually had to stop one of them in their tracks to ask which table? Not a good start! The rest of our party, including two more toddlers, arrived and were generally ignored. By the time a waitress asked if we wanted drinks, we had all become so thirsty, we had been to the bar and ordered for ourselves. After ½ an hour no one had bought the ‘Nibbles’ we had pre-ordered, and on asking for them, were told we hadn’t ordered any (which was untrue). After a brief disagreement and my wife showing the Restaurant Manager our pre-order email they relented - but there was no real apology for their error. After another hour the ‘Starters’ still hadn’t appeared, so again, with the children becoming hungry and fractious, we had to request them – even though the restaurant was half empty. When the ‘Mains’ arrived, there was yet another delay as the table had not been set for multiple courses and the knives and forks used for the starters had not been replaced. Despite asking, no new cutlery appeared – so again, with no staff available, those of us who needed them had to resort to ‘borrowing’ them from a neighbouring table. To compound the feeling of staff not caring, there was also an incident with one of the toddlers (which was in no way the fault of the hotel) - his cries of pain attracted no attention, interest or concern from any of the restaurant staff (although we did manage to intercept one waitress, who cleared up some spilt soup and very kindly brought out a fresh bowl without being asked). The whole experience was truly awful, unwelcoming, awkward, upsetting and, to be frank, I doubt we’ll ever return – even though we have had very pleasant experiences of eating there on several occasions in the past. It really did seem like the staff didn’t care about, or respect, the clientele. No one was keeping an eye out to ensure an attentive service was provided. They weren’t in the least accommodating, charming or pro-active and it was clear that the team in general were not being managed in real time. It really did feel like the hotel, as one of very few ‘destinations’ in this idyllic Cotswold village, was purely banking on passing tourist trade and one-off visitors to make it’s money.

Nice environment, food looked lovely. However all but one staff member looked like they would rather not be there. Food was disappointing, sandwich bread was rubbery, both ciabatta and baguette. The sandwich fillings were extremely salty. The baked potato was cold, the only good things from our group were the sausage roll and fries. Mint chocolate and coffees were decent.

Probably the worst Sunday lunch I have ever had, I was told I cannot order a children’s (or smaller size potion) as I am not a child, despite me saying I have a digestive issue and cannot eat large meals. The potatoes arrived practically raw, hard boiled and not a “crispness” in sight, I actually sent them and they came back when everyone else had finished so I decided to take them home instead of eating in my own, everyone else also left at least one potatoe as they were inedible! The photo shows the potatoes in my air fryer at home after about 20 minutes! Service charge was then added on, which I asked to be removed but my friend insisted on paying it, so I paid £30 for roast pork (with a huge rind of fat around it, despite asking for extra crackling) inedible potatoes and “fresh market veg” which were clearly frozen peas and carrots!! Lesson learnt!!

Day out in the Cotswolds, found this gem of a pub on our way to Bibury. Food was very tasty and service was very fast. Staff were very friendly and professional. Only downfall was that in the bar section where we sat the menu had a very limited selection. We highly recommend it.

Popped out for a midweek supper. Arrived at 6.30pm and the bar was buzzing with locals having a pint after work, so rare and nice to see. Our lovely waiter showed us to our dog friendly table, supplied doggy treats and menus. Great range of beers, lagers and wines. My meal was delicious, sea bream with chorizo, new potatoes and veg. Prices reasonable for the Cotswolds. Would definitely recommend.

Cotswold towns are not short of charming, historic pubs but the Porch House has a particular claim. It’s said to be the oldest pub in England, dating back to 975AD. This is no idle claim as its timbers have been carbon dated to approximately 1000 AD and it still has witch marks above the 16th century fireplace. Many original features have been retained - low ceilings and heavy wooden beams, crooked staircases, and small, cosy, rustic nooks. If you want character, then this is the place. You can walk in for a drink but if you want to eat, you’ll have to book ahead. We couldn’t get a table the first night we tried but we were able to book for a few nights later. The menu is seasonal and they try to introduce local produce. Overall the food was good - not memorable, but still good. The meals were hearty and traditional but much better than standard pub grub. We enjoyed the beef dish and pie although the mussels entree was disappointing as the mussels were quite small and were not plump and juicy. Overall a nice dinner in a very atmospheric, historic spot.

This has got to be one of the worst restaurant that I have ever visited,I was not the only one to think this, .many disgruntled visitors. You were told all the things you couldn't have, terrible service, staff constantly getting orders wrong or not at all, long wait for below average food. My advice go somewhere else if you're staying at the Premier Inn
