Excellent setting with many interesting features. The staff were very friendly and attentive throughout. We went for the Sunday roasts which didn’t disappoint although we needed more gravy! Great atmosphere and tasty food.

A very poor showing from the pub. We arrived for dinner for a birthday meal and get given the menu. We then wait about 15 minutes for a server to come to us, and by this time we had ordered what we wanted to. Only to then be told they haven’t got either of our sides or mains left. Our dinner booking was 7:45?! So poor overall from service to food!! Should’ve stayed in the old ages

We were doing a day long Cotswold tour and our guide recommended that we check this pub out — the oldest in the country! The place is quaint as can be with all kinds of nooks and crannies. Check it out if you have the opportunity for a meal and a pint :)

We experienced an inviting atmosphere, with a fireplace to warm up with. The tables are arranged nicely. The menu was complete with very healthy, fresh choices. Flat bread with grilled chicken was SO delicious. If only …. I didn’t live 5,500 miles away 🥲

The food. I spent £38 on a steak which was beautifully cooked but tiny, the accompaniments weren’t all that. A handful of frozen chips and abit of rocket. There should have been hot vegetables or failing that, at least coleslaw and proper salad. I good see the Americans next door to me were disappointed with their very bland burgers. No sides!!!

Pub carino e accogliente ideale per una pausa pranzo veloce. Servono piatti interessanti, come la Fisherman's Pie, una sorta di gateau di patate con dentro salmone, gamberetti e altro pesce o la Duck Salad, un'insalata con anatra. Servizio rapido. Buon rapporto qualità prezzo.

We visited on bank holiday Monday which may have been part of the issue?! It looked as though there were staffing issues and the service was rushed. Twice we were bought food that wasn’t for our table. Our wine was warm and no attempt to serve it. One of the dishes that was recommended by the waitress turned out to be unavailable. The food itself was ok, but the lamb was very expensive for the portion size- 2 small chunks for £25! The moules were very small and one slice of bread for £9. The manager we spoke to was understanding and offered a discount. It’s a shame as we’ve always recommended the Porch House to guests who stay at our holiday home. We do hope the honeycomb management team take onboard feedback as this is such a historic treasure and deserves the service and quality food to reflect this beautiful building.

Don’t be fooled by the online presence, especially if you are a foodie and like a bit of luxury whilst dining out. Chef was very “computer says no” with swapping fries for vegetables…so charged the extra for vegetables, but no fries. The chicken was tough. Service was ok…but I’d suggest a uniform for the team to match the prices. Shared bathrooms, a pet hate of mine. £90 bill for one course plus service…disappointed

A welcoming, family-friendly environment where VILP (Very Important Little People) are treated with the same respect and reference as their adult counterparts. Our toddler had a wonderful dining experience, while my husband and I enjoyed delicious drinks and meal. I especially appreciated the mocktail section of the drink menu - it showed the breadth of inclusiveness of this restaurant. We will absolutely revisit on our next trip to the Costwolds!

We were warmly welcomed into the pub restaurant. We were given plenty of time to get ourselves sorted before being asked to give our drinks / food order. A really nice touch was the restaurant providing complimentary humous dips for the children while they waited for their main orders. All the staff were pleasant and Hannah and Ben who attended our table were particularly helpful attentive, but not overbearingly so. The excellent service was a lovely addition to the good food we consumed.

Got an email back thanking me for my enquiry worded - “ Thank you for your enquiry, we will be in touch shortly. Needless to say I have booked somewhere else that confirms booking immediately! Need to get your act together with online reservations a simple yes or no within 24 hours would be more than acceptable

The host was absolutely lovely & asked us to have a drink while she would have a look to see if she could squeeze us in. 5 minutes later we were sat in the dining area. Visited with friends on Good Friday for lunch. Booked in advance just in case - as I imagine this place gets very busy. We had a fantastic lunch, and my peri-peri chicken with sweet potato fries was cooked very well. I knew it was a good sign when the server said this would take 20 minutes to cook in the oven. Other dishes such as the fish and chips and burger were also enjoyed. Service was professional and the ambience was good. Would recommend.

I made the reservation weeks ago, in writing, requesting a circular table for a surprise family celebration of my husband’s 60th birthday. We were given a rectangular table at the back, the usual 3 down one side of the table and 2 down the other, dogs and high chairs, baby wipes etc etc nearby, no atmosphere whatsoever and certainly not what I’d hoped for. My husband’s seafood paella was undercooked and excessively seasoned with paprika/chilli and not pleasant. My vegetable paella was also undercooked and very disappointing. We had to ask twice for the dessert menus and when finally they arrived we realised we’d all been handed the Kids Menu. ‘Oh bloody hell’ said the waiter to us. We didn’t bother with dessert - we just wanted out by this stage. I felt mortified over how disappointing the whole experience had been when it was a special occasion we’d looked forward to. On my previous visit it had been amazing. Really really disappointed … I should have done a special lunch for him at home instead.

Felt awful for the waiter the entire time as it was as though he was left to dry. After being seated it took 20 minutes for anyone to come over and after ordering drinks we had to wait another 25 minutes (for context there was only 3 other tables in). When our drinks did arrive we received the wrong drinks - we ordered a passion fruit mojito and a regular mojito and we received a passion fruit martini and a passion fruit soft drink of sort. After waiting for 45 minutes we decided to just leave this as we just wanted a drink. When the food came out my partner and another member of our party who had paella said their paella was super crunchy and uncomfortable to eat. To be fair to the waiter he had noticed they hadn’t eaten and took the food off the bill. On a positive note my venison tasted really good and another member of our party’s burger was really good. Maybe just an off night but wasn’t a pleasant experience.

Myself and my partner visited the porch house for my birthday lunch - it had been noted on the booking we were celebrating a birthday. We booked online for 1.30pm however they had booked us for 1pm the hostess then said she would need to speak to someone as to where we would be seated. To our disappointment we were not seated in the dining area only to be put at the back with tables of children on a table by the tills and coffee machine (we are a childless couple). The server who took our order placed it for two steaks (we ordered two roast beef dinners) we had to correct the server when asked if we wanted truffle on our fries .. not what we ordered. We ordered wine which did not arrive till the food arrived ! The roast was below average - roast potatoes tasted stale and old , food was not hot barely lukewarm. Service was nearly as shocking as the food. I wouldn’t bother coming here if you are celebrating any “occasion”. Don’t waste your time or your money !

We booked two rooms for our recent family vacation so we could say we had spent the night in the oldest operating Inn/Pub in England. It was amazing! There was a warren of hallways and doors leading to the various rooms. Some of them are indeed cozy/snug! We had dinner the night of arrival and I had the best Fish & Chips of our trip at the Porch House and an incredible dessert! Our breakfast was very fun. The best thing about the Porch House is the employees. We were trying to figure out the best way to get to London and the employees spent so much time helping us with international phone calls and calls to taxi drivers. We will remember their kindness and helpfulness forever. It will always be one of the highlights of our 17 day vacation and it was less than 24 hours!

Came here for a couples dinner. 5.45pm reservation, seated promptly. Young waiter came over to a table of people sat after us and took their order before us. Ordered drinks, reasonably priced. The waiter did not use notepad and pen to take order which i did find strange as we were ordering multiple things at once. My meal, wagyu burger was nice. Chips quite bland. Fiancés meal (ordered the king prawn paella with chorizo) came out as pasta. The waiter said you didn’t order this did you, then took it back to the kitchen. He then came over and said you don’t mind eating separately do you? I said it’s not really ideal as it’s a date night, but nothing we can do. Paella came out, small portion with no chorizo and instead replaced by squid, no note of this when ordering so concerns me should there be a dislike to that as that is not stated on the menu? Our meal was not checked once. Lovely manager lady came over when we finished and I explained the situation to her and she took it off our bill which was really appreciated. Inside decor very nice, and there is a small bar at the back with a log burning fire and comfy armchairs, we had a drink in there and was very nice. Place is reasonably priced for what it is.

Passing through we parked up and browsed the shops and built up quite a thirst. We came across this pub and popped in for a Guinness. As it was a gorgeous day opted to sit outside- there is seating out front but quite noisy with...

A stunning old hotel in the Stow on the Wold. There are numerous artefacts in each room and a real sense of history about the building. We stayed for one night and had the most amazing meal, each course being a delight. After the meal...

Hats off to the Porch House team, and in particular Bea and Natalie, who are huge assets to the company: hard working, knowledgeable, positive, unflappable. It was a hot evening and the pub was heaving with people, so much so that not everyone who arrived...

So, to be fair the food was OK, not outstanding but OK. The venue has beautiful nooks and crannies, low stone ceilings and tasteful furniture, potentially a typical English gastro pub. However....we were seated in the conservatory which seems to have has a successful atmosphere...

Bibury is such a beautiful place, we had hoped to find a pub that matched its style. This is a great spot for a basic pint and chips. The place itself is tatty and run down but served its purpose as a pit stop, we chose not to eat here.

Such a great find. Lovely, clean room in a quiet spot. Continental breakfast was perfect with some great little touches such as homemade jam. Well worth the money and I hope to come back again soon.

Fantastic hospitality and wonderful food. Sunday roast to die for: roast beef cooked perfectly, vegetables, excellent choice for time of year, also cooked to perfection. Not my first visit and looking forward to my next. Thank you, Sheila, Graham & Staff 😁 Regards A-J & Pat

Myself, my grandchildren and my children eat here at least every few weeks. The service is fantastic, and the food is always well prepared and served. It has a lovely atmosphere and we love going here. The children enjoy it and you feel very comfortable taking children in. If anyone in management reads these reviews can I please recommend that you put scotch eggs back onto your menu. We always have them as a starter and they are one of the best I have ever tasted. Unfortunately this time we saw it had been removed, also unfortunately there was nothing else any of us could find on the starters so we all ended up having no starter at all. This was a real shame and meant we spent less than we normally would have done with yourselves.
