Beefeater Cirencester in Cotswold

This has got to be one of the worst restaurant that I have ever visited,I was not the only one to think this, .many disgruntled visitors. You were told all the things you couldn't have, terrible service, staff constantly getting orders wrong or not at all, long wait for below average food. My advice go somewhere else if you're staying at the Premier Inn

Good points Great staff ,excellent beds,brilliant location and decent breakfast. Bad points...windows don't open!!! You need to use the air con which lowers to 19 c...erm is that not warm air? No restaurant!!! Really inconvenienced us as a party of 11...1 elderly 91- a young boy of 9 and 1 person waiting for a hip operation...to be told nearest restaurant is 10 minutes away walking unfortunately EVERYONE had been advised to go to other restaurant so no vacancy.

after my easter trip when they ran out of beer i was reluctant to try again but as work required me to pass by i gave it another go only to find no evening food available ! or anything else for that matter ! i dont know why it bothers opening at all, long walk to town if you dont want mcdonalds

My friend id a coach driver and usually stays at the great Wycombe one which is great. This one is rubbish, no food available after 3pm so he couldn’t have a meal at night after he finished my tour !! Half an hour to walk into Cirencester, no thank you!! Breakfast was luke warm and nobody told him it was self service?!

Recently we had a meal in this resturant, the experience was not great. The meal was poor and was not value for money in my opinion the reason lays solely at Whitbreads door, the resturant was reasonably busy and had a large 80 th birthday party, and they only had two ladies working one who seemed to very new and the other was experienced and was making a very good effort to keep the restaurant going. The outcome was along wait for drinks and food which was well below average. Breakfast was very good. A well done to the ladies and to the management team don’t put your staff in such an impossible position it’s not fair.

Visited for breakfast on Saturday 18/05/24 around 9am. For about £10 it’s unlimited hot breakfast buffet plus continental plus hot drinks. It was really good value. We booked which was lucky because on arrival there were signs up saying that due to staff shortages they were not taking walk in customers, it is probably a one off but to be on the safe side it’s probably worth booking if you’re not staying at the hotel next door. Would definitely return.

Got our order wrong. And didn't get plates we ordered at the same time. Childrens dessert - my daughter was asked twice which sauce she wanted and came out wrong. Only 1 manager to wait tables, serve at the bar and welcome new customers. We had to go to the bar and join her queue to pay. She had to turn down walk in customers to be in with even a chance of coping. Food was good, grilled samon and king prawn skewers were great

I really enjoyed my daily breakfasts & the servers were friendly & helpful, & the prices for the breakfasts were reasonable.

20 minutes after finishing our mains the food that was missed turned up. Terrible food and even worse service. The worst Beefeater experience in 20 years of eating at them... one to avoid. Over 2hrs on Tuesday night wasted.

Really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Kirsty our server was lovely and did a great job of looking after us. Will return again sometime in the future for sure.

Had an absolutely fantastic meal. We were well looked after by Kirsty, Grace and the team. Service was great and every one of the team were really happy to help. And the steak was cooked perfectly with lots of taste.

Went for a breakfast today at Cirencester beefeater. Was very yummy, especially the cooked breakfast. Lots of choice. Service by Lisa was incredible - very lovely and nice to see someone who genuinely loves their job. Will be back again!

£9.99 for all you can eat breakfast and worth every penny The quality of the food is great and the service is even better. 10/10 for Lisa who was welcoming, kind and funny

Couldn't fault the food. There was quite a wait on our first night there. But our breakfasts and the meal we had there another night was brilliant. Only one usable toilet and it was dirty.

Went with the family, staff didn't seem too confident in what they were doing, orders made wrong repeatedly, food brought out sporadically. And the food was...average nothing special.

Fantastic wait-staff (thanks Kirsty), who are always friendly and accommodating. Food is always solid. Lovely atmosphere. We always have a fab evening here.

Great food and great customer service

Been here a lot of times in the past but tonight the service was shocking. Not enough staff, dirty tables, waited 30 minutes for a drink then ran out of cocktail mixers. Not returning

Not a complaint on the food as that was ok. Took an age to get seated as not many staff on duty we hadn't even sat down & they asked what we wanted to drink !!! Had to ask for table to be cleaned as it was VERY sticky & we were peeling our Napkins up. Slow & poor service our drinks arrived same time as our starter. Then mains arrived & starters plates hadn't been cleared away. Took ages to get staff attention to order another drink & dessert which in turn took 20 mins to he told they couldn't fulfil the drinks orders as the dessert arrived so we ate paid & left without anyone acknowledging us. The table next to us had finished & left yet still over an hour later that table still hadn't been cleared of dirty plates. Will definitely not be returning or be recommending to anyone.

Great to have Kirsty back on breakfast! Much nicer to see a smiley face rather than the “new” untidy, grumpy manager.

Absolutely LOVE this place. ALWAYS get the best ever customer service, best food and lovely surroundings. The staff are above all the best thing about going there, they are all always just lovely, happy to help and go above and beyond. Had a terrible experience here for a Sunday lunch today. We were a party of 4 adults and 3 children having a special occasion family meal. When the main courses were served one of our party who had ordered a chicken roast was told they had no chicken! The rest of us had to eat our meals while she looked on and then was embarrassed to eat hers after we had all finished. She felt very uncomfortable eating her main meal alone. The initially very polite waitress ’ Daisy’ apologised and said we would be offered free deserts to compensate for the inconvenience and for spoiling our meal. We all decided to accept their kind offer when we probably wouldn’t have all had a dessert but, when the bill came we had only had only been credited with one free dessert. Daisy said she never offered this when I challenged it. The manager was called who offered one free drink in addition to the one free dessert but the drinks were unlimited refillable ones so nothing additional was gained. We were never offered condiments with our meal, I had to go to the bar to get a 2nd drink but Daisy and her colleagues were happy to start clearing the table before we had all finished. The manager’s attitude was poor and he could certainly benefit from some additional customer service training and Daisy would benefit from not offering something that Beefeater cannot deliver. Sadly what should have been a special family meal was somewhat ruined.

Kept waiting for 25 minutes before our order was taken. Then the waitress forgot our drinks entirely. Thing is, the place was dead as it was on an early Tuesday evening. The food was also absolutely shocking, I've never had such a poor lasagne.

Just had the most amazing breakfast at beefeater, the waitresses Abi and Lisa are absolutely fantastic people the service they provide is excellent, the food is so so good , it is excellent value for money

I always try to support my local beefeater when I'm in the area. I usually pop in for breakfast which are exceptional value for all you can eat. My partner will only eat the beefeater sausages as she likes the quality and way they are cooked. We find the staff incredibly accommodating with nothing being too much bother. We are treated as if we are their only customer even when they are busy. A special thank you to Lisa and Abi who have learned our breakfast order and have it underway when we arrive.

Me and my son went out for a little lunch break and had a lovely 2/3 course meal each for under £25. Alex our server was fantastic and friendly. Would definitely return again.

Love the food staff are awesome, they are over worked but is still brilliant. Only £20 on 2 unlimited breakfasts love it.

We popped in after my daughter visit to the college and as a celebration we treated ourselves and wow from the moment we walked in, the service was 100% our server was Lee and I have to say he is a credit to your restaurant. So polite, personable and fun, he made our evening special. The food was great. We will definitely coming back with our son as well and already looking at when. Again big thanks to Lee

We stay at the premier inn and met friends for dinner. 13 of us altogether and we all got our meal’s together no body had to wait! The staff were all very friendly and pleasant. Claire was our fabulous server and Alex behind the bar was extremely chatty and friendly. All meals were good but could of done with larger portions of chips and mash. Apart from that a good evening.

Really impressed with the 4oz rump steak on the kids menu. Cooked perfectly. Also the fixed price menu was good value. Service was very efficient. Only downside was the restaurant itself felt a little grubby in places.

First time of ever going into beefeater.Served by Amelia who was very polite.Ordered bacon burger, which came with fries and coleslaw,which was delicious.Highly recommend that if you're a chargrill burger lover.Husband and mother both decided to order a sirloin steak,both of them said it was lovely,cooked to perfection.Would definitely come back.Music playing in the background not to loud .Place was nice and clean.

Christmas dinner, on Christmas day, at the Beefeater was a pleasant surprise. First of all was the excellent service.At no point did we have to ask for anything. As my drink was nearly empty a waitress asked if I wanted another. All meals for 4 were delivered to the table within seconds of each other. Whoever ran the service and the staff must be congratulated. I've eaten in far more expensive places and the service was nowhere near as good. Starters were fine but little garnish next time please The main was perfect as was the desert. Good coffee as well. The best thing though was the service, followed by the food then the atmosphere. Very well done.and no shopping or washing up. Well worth the money.

Nice meal christmas day but booked in at 2.30pm and sat down at 3pm service super slow after Kirsty went. Not very good when spending over £200 for 3 people on christmas day. Yes they might be busy but waiting over half an hour between courses is not exceptable. Not sure if i will return with my family unless decent staff who actully care instead of just standing around and not serving do there job. Sorry but i paid good money and service was ########

Had a faultless family meal here this evening. Food was excellent. The festive set menu is excellent value for money. Service was also excellent.

When we arrived here for the week for work, I booked this knowing that we would dine at a welcoming restaurant with Kirsty and the Team!, unfortunately we were greeted by a guy who was more interested in chewing his gum than engaging conversation, of which I'm sure he never mastered at school. We also witnessed him the following morning walking around the restaurant in his own attire and not engaged whatsoever with the customers, to later find he was the restaurant manager!, there is no way I would return to know he was the guy taking the praise for all the hard work his team undertake to make him look good on reviews!. Shout out to Kirsty, of whom is the reason we book to return, also Shelly who kept us entertained the whole week, and also the kitchen staff that work tirelessly to ensure everyone is fed and happy. Kirsty, Shelly, and the kitchen staff would be the only reason I would return, not the cold shouldered guy that never studied or even Googled the meaning of Customer Service. Only rated 5 stars due to the staff mentioned, Well done team! (Not the gum chewer)

I don’t know where to begin with my review, I’d booked table on line requesting quiet table and I’d have assistance dog with me, all confirmed, Today 12/11/23 I went into the beefeater in Cirencester to be greeted by a male front of house I assumed, to later find out was restaurant manager Lee, he looked at myself and my assistance dog like we was nothing and caused my anxiety to trigger, I told him we had requested quiet table and dog was with me , he offered us 3 table one next to bar, one near cooking station and one right in middle of restaurant, not quiet as requested , he pointed to table and walked off, we ordered food, to be told half way through starter one main had run out? Surely new menu and booking should of known how busy would be and as stopped Sunday roast most would order the turkey roast, he then made myself feel uncomfortable by standing at bar arms crossed just staring at us, he clearly doesn’t understand that not all disabilities are visible nor has he any people skills .. our food arrived, the burger was burnt, the potatoes half cooked, the only decent part the meal was the cheese board.. our waitress tried to help when realising my anxiety wasn’t to good and took time to talk, I asked her name as wanted to make sure that she got a good review despite her managers people skills so thank you Shelly the waitress Also staff should realise that if a assistance dog is working you don’t pat him or ask for paw as he is actually working and permission should be asked not assumed

Kirsty the manager always goes above and beyond every time I go in, she creates a nice atmosphere, and is polite and genuine. Food is always tasty and fresh, and is overall really good value for money. Really good options for me due to my dairy allergy. The vegan chocolate torte is absolutely banging and its nice to go out for dinner and have something different to sorbet for dessert (if u know, you know)😉

Lovely breakfast apart from the sausages was not same as had before but the overall service was great fast and waitress was very friendly. She takes pride in knowing her customers and when come back remembers what orders are which is a bonus and friends was over the moon.

I tried to go here for breakfast this morning and was meet by a member of staff that was so rude and was turned away because I didn't book but went out and looked and said I could book so went back in with my booking confirmation and was told I could not have as they would run out of food and she was there on her own yet the restaurant wasn't not full

Breakfast with the family. update 2022. From a 4 star to a 2 star experience. I cant find a single positive this time Our past experience has been great but today's was just Terrible. Coffee machine not working ( so you have to get a member of staff to make you one.) No milk for cereals , no side plates for toast , extremely limited choices ( toast or overcooked croissants) , the "hot" food was in bits so you could get bacon or sausage or beans but not at the same time. Apparently 1 chef to deal with 100 customers i was informed ( poor guy has no chance). Would i use a beefeater again? No. Not enough staff is a issue for management to deal with kudos to the gentleman on the door as we left . Despite a very annoyed customer he was 100% professional

honestly where to start - shambolic, farcical, best avoided - so Kept waiting for 10 mins to be seated while the restaurant was empty, then no sunday Roast, no draught beer - only bottled at £9.30 a pint equivalent. , Filthy glass so drink had to be changed. 2 items missed off my main - turned up 10 mins into meal. Kids desert (pancakes) stone cold. Literally one of the worst culinary and customer service experiences i have had.

Mother's Day breakfast. Not our first time for breakfast but certainly one of the busiest sessions we've been to and I have to say it was managed very well. The whole process seemed very smooth, we never had to wait for anything, the food was good and it was hot. Kirsty and her staff were very friendly and cleared unused plates as they went along. Overall a very good experience.

Just wanted to say how good the food and the service was. The chef was on his own but you wouldn’t have known, really impressed.

We walked out. It was a experience we will never forget. It was absolutely disgusting. We arrived at 3 pm and still sat there at 5.30pm waiting for our main. And it spoiled mothers day. DO NOT GO THERE!!! Expensive and bad quality. We went strait to McDonald's.

Firstly the food. Sunday lunches consisted of burnt roast potatoes and parsnips. The quality of the meat was okay. The rest was passable. Secondly. Trying to get refills of soft drinks. You get charged £2.99 for a soft drink. Pretty expensive for the size but you are promised unlimited refills. The problem comes when you try to get a refill. I'm not somebody who will consume for the sake of it so this isn't a case of wanting an excessive number of refills. I had one drink with my starter and then requested a refill to come with my main course. No drink came so I asked a second member of staff. Again no refill was brought over. So I finally managed to get the attention of a third member of staff, explained that I had asked two of her colleagues for a refill but hadn't received one. She apologised and said she would look into it. Finally, 40 minutes after asking for a refill I received one. Thirdly, and most importantly, check your bill before paying. Don't just check that the correct items are listed but check the prices you are paying for each item. Four of us visited today and ordered from the Mother's Day special menu. This is a breakdown of what I believe we should have paid compared to our actual bill. 3 adults ordered 2 courses from the special menu, and 1 child ordering from the childrens menu. Plus drinks. According to the menu a 2 course special is £16.95 per person and a childs 2 course is £5.49. Drinks consisted of a glass of water (free) and apple juice (£2.85) and two bottomless soft drinks (£2.99 each). Which added together makes: 16.95x3 = 50.85 + 5.49 = £56.34 food 2.99x2 = 5.98 + 2.85 = £8.83 drinks Total bill expected = £65.17 However this is the bill I was presented with; 1 glass water 0.00 2 bottomless soft 5.98 1 16oz apple 2.85 1 ultimate roast 14.99 1 mothers 3crs 19.95 1 kid 2 course 5.49 1 mothers st+mn 16.95 Total due 66.21 Where does the extra £1.04 come from? When i queried why my bill was laid out like this and not how the ordered I was told "the till does it that way automatically" and "working it out the way we have actually saves you money". As I have proven it didn't save me money it actually cost me extra. I know that it's only £1. I'm really not bothered by the amount. But the bad service plus the overcharge and being lied to adds up to a pretty bad experience. And one that I have no desire to repeat anytime soon.

Massive joke had to book as they were busy once inside and seated on a dirty table and wanted to order 6 things I wanted to order was out of stock mainly steaks ,, for a beefeater having not steak is a bit of a joke . We also paid for unlimited drinks but had to wait 30 min after our drinks were empty to even be asked for a refill . Empty plates and drinks were left on the table . Absolute joke will never eat here again or another beefater

As it was very busy Sunday, we had to wait but the meals were excellent and the service exemplary.

Terrible service seated and ignored for an hour and a half by the manager while some other people were seated had there drinks order and food order taken within 15 minutes. When the manager was approached about this he couldn’t even remember seating us every other member or staff walked past us at least twice and didn’t think to question why we had been sat there for so long with no drinks or food. Manager’s response was “ all I can do is apologise” Will not be returning due to shockingly bad customer service. My advise keep away

Food was pretty good, server very friendly. Sadly the kitchen seemed to be struggling a bit and the wait for food was too long (we had a table at 5pm on a Monday). The ice cream desserts from the kids meal deal took about 25 minutes to come. Draft beer choices very limited too.

Part of meal order missing, asked waitress for some condiments she didn’t return, steak cooked incorrectly, chips cold. Gave two stars instead of one as the lager was ok.
