Great place! Food choices were great, kids meals perfect portion size, staff were very attentive. And great coffee! Recommend stopping by.

We stumbled across this place after leaving LowerMill park. Service was very friendly and welcoming and breakfast exceptional. Saw the roast dinners coming out of kitchen later which looked superb.

A warm welcome on arrival. Vibrant and friendly feeling. Good menu with generous portions and very reasonable. Live music too!

We came out for a family lunch for my daughter’s birthday and it was absolutely perfect. The service, food and atmosphere was amazing and we couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to celebrate. Thank you to the lakeside team!!

Rang ahead to book for 12 just before opening for breakfast. One of the best cooked breakfasts I've ever had and everyone really enjoyed their meals. Staff were attentive, friendly and lovely view of the lake. Parking a bit tricky

I’m shocked this place gets good reviews. The food was fine, not fabulous and the service was ‘ok’, they were kinda helpful but not overly enthusiastic. The worst part was how dirty it was. Sticky tables. Really dirty bar area. My shoes stuck to the floor! So sticky! The place was empty so there was no excuse not to give it all a clean. I didn’t go into the toilets… scores on the doors was a 4. I think it would be lower if visited today. Such a shame because could be a nice venue, over looking the lake. Obviously owners only interested in money and not cleaning.

Great food in a great location. Booked on the day by phone. It was a Monday night during term time in September so not too busy when we arrived. Great relaxed atmosphere right on the edge of the lake. Choice of eating indoors or on the rear terrace overlooking the lake. Staff were spot on, really attentive, when needed but not over bearing. Food was quick and top quality. Staff give this place a relaxed vibe, which was fab. Everything went well and next time we are down this way, we will be booking another table. Thanks.

visited on a Sunday morning with a group of friends, and unfortunately were really disappointed. we had booked ahead, and we were seated quickly then order taken. our food arrived before our drinks (about twenty minutes wait), and although it was tasty, we had to ask three times for our drinks, which then arrived after we’d eaten. when they did arrive, the coffee drinkers were horrendously disappointed - describing it as watery and weak. staff were apologetic and removed the drinks from the bill, however it still took over 15 minutes to actually be able to pay the bill.

Really great place to eat and watch the water sports. Staff are very nice and the food is great. Good selection of food and drink. My daughter has done the water sports twice here and it's great fun. The staff are very helpful and friendly helping make the experience better. Lots of selection of things to try or ride.

Me and my friends came here at very short notice and had a lovely meal. The restaurant (despite being one of the only ones within walking distance of where we were staying) was really nice and had great food. The staff were lovely, particularly our waitress Katie. Thank you so much! Would definitely recommend.

We were visiting the lakes on holiday with friends and decided to book lunch as a meeting point. Myself & my husband arrived first and were given a lovely table on the veranda overlooking the lake. There was a speedboat taking people out in rings on the lake which was fun to watch. Our friends were held up by traffic and were almost an hour late, but the staff were so friendly and chilled and we weren't rushed. Service was at the table and it was prompt, professional, but friendly... Once our friends arrived we all ordered sandwiches with chips and the food was fabulous, I particularly enjoyed my salmon sandwich, the portion was great value. We stopped by again just for drinks over the same weekend and sat down on the decking right on the water which was also great. I would absolutely recommend coming here if you're visiting the area, but book if you want food as It's not a huge restaurant and i noticed most of the tables were reserved.

Beautiful location. Lovely staff and nice food. We have had dinner and breakfast here. Only criticism is that the breakfast wasn't very hot, we were served a hash brown and not tater tots and the sourdough toast was almost impossible to cut through. But we did all enjoy the meals and the drinks were very nice too. As I said, the location really does make it and the water sports are sooooo much fun. Defiantly worth a visit!

My mum and I are in Cirencester for a few days and tonight we had dinner at Lakeside Brasserie. We were served by Daniel who was so friendly and welcoming, and his attentive service was excellent. Also the food was delicious! Would recommend this place to anyone staying in Cirencester or the surrounding areas.

Gorgeous setting. We were there to waterski. Fantastic experience for our children with really brilliant instructor. Drinks were great and reasonably priced. The food wasn't amazing but wasn't bad either. We had pizza and reckoned they were ok but slightly greasy and would be stunned if they were freshly made. Brake Bros finest most likely. Anyway they filled a gap after fun on the water and were very welcome. Friendly staff and no complaints.

Basic food but friendly staff and good service

Food was good but the place is lacking any service or good atmosphere. We popped in to see if we had lost a wallet and the manager couldn’t even be bothered to look me in the face to talk to me, he couldn’t have cared less. Terrible customer service while eating and with that incident too. Shame. Food was actually really good!

Lovely little place on a lake where you can do watersports (I believe you book here). I was a little disappointed with the burger, but some of the dishes I saw other people order looked pretty good. I would definitely go back and they also do not add a service charge to your bill, which really annoys me and because of this, I tipped double what I normally would have

Have eaten here before ,wow what a place ,next to a lovely lake . Food was fabulous ,good value ,and great service .I had the Lakeside Burger which was delicious and my wife had the steak which she enjoyed .

The perfect location for a summer lunch. The staff were welcoming and attentive and the food was delicious. We sat out on the balcony overlooking the water and the water skiers and if we hadn't had plans we could easily have sat there all afternoon. I would also recommend the early evenings for a drink and an unwind. We had the Chicken Caesar Salad with fries for lunch followed by a cooling iced coffee - delicious. We will be back.

Amazing spot right on the water with gorgeous views. Food very good, lots of choice and I really liked my vegetarian dish - tuscan stew, would definitely recommend this restaurant. Also it's dog friendly

They would not serve us food because the kitchen was understaffed but they were serving new coming people and everyone around. Awful service, rude staff and most of them were barefoot.

Beautiful views across the lake, great burgers and staff. Lost a star for the dirty toilets and disabled toilet was also dirty and full of other stuff, making it very difficult to manoeuvre.

We wouldn’t know any of the above as our booking was messed up by staff. I called the Saturday before to move our booking that I had made online to 11am instead of 10am. The young girl who took the call was busy and said she will write down my details and move the booking, then call back to confirm, then she changed her mind and said she won’t callback to confirm she will just move the breakfast booking to 11am. As far as we were concerned the booking had now been changed to 11am, no issues. We chose this location as we’re releasing a cannon around the lake prior to having brunch, to find out the gender of our unborn child, so it was supposed to be quite a special morning and we had picked this location based on being recommended this restaurant for breakfast and being close to nice walks. On the morning we didn’t want to be rushed and were running slightly behind so called up at 10.50am and said we will be more like 11.05 or 11.10am and asked if this was okay. Upon calling I spoke to the same girl I believe, she couldn’t give me an answer and passed me to a male colleague who obviously had more authority, he said that they would never have moved a food booking to 11am in the first place as the kitchen is closed between 11-12am, so why did the girl tell us this was okay the week previous? Does she not know what times the place she works serves food? Are staff not being trained properly if they’re new? They should know this information. The man we spoke to was really lovely and helpful and said they will keep the kitchen open until 10 past 11 for us to order, which was really kind, however I felt really awkward that our booking had been messed up and that we would be the only people eating and staff would have to work extra to cook us food when the kitchen is closed, so I said no thankyou as I didn’t want us to be a burden. and we went elsewhere. Therefore what was meant to be a really special morning, organised around a restaurant that was pre booked and a staff member was spoken to over the phone and not told us there was an issue with the timing of our booking, ended up in going to the gateway cafe which was terrible! So maybe this feedback could be used to ensure staff are aware of opening times and times that food are served, as this wasn’t just a food booking it was a really special morning that had been planned in advance that was messed up because of a member of your staff’s incompetence. Maybe you could also put times that food is served on your website as it doesn’t currently say that no food is served between 11-12am on a weekend, which I would have thought would be peak time for visitors. I hope nothing like this happens in future to anyone else as it ruined a really special morning.

The chap behind the bar was good, though the rest of the service was lacking. The food was well presented, though the burger I could taste the additional items in it. Got some flavor of the burger and the bun. Others in the party may have been better, however the service was a let down, be prepared. I don't think we will pop back here again.

A breakfast booking with a table lake side. I had smashed avocado with poached egg and streaky bacon on sourdough toast. Delicious! Avocado was perfect 😍. I had a black americano to drink, think a stronger blend would be better, it was quite bland.

First trip to the Cotswolds, stayed in Cirencester, but took a trip to the Waterpark. Next time we would stay on Spring Lake as it has everything for the family. But the highlight of the trip was a visit to the Brasserie for the day, awesome day and great staff, Sam made us feel so welcome. The kids loved the boat and we had a great afternoon! Thanks again!

We travelled from London to come for a weekend away, this place is just lovely! Great setting with the lake and the boat, kids were loving going out on the boat. The food was really tasty and a great variety of things to choose from. Would definitely recommend and return on our next visit!

Such a great place! We always have such a great time at Lakeside. The staff and management are so friendly, welcoming to all, professional and create a fun, relaxing and warming atmosphere. The food is excellent and some of the best food we've had outside of the city. I'd highly recommend Lakeside Brasserie.

Visited twice and food is pretty mediocre. Had the steak one night and asked for chimichurri sauce. It came out with a large knob of garlic butter on it instead that had melted over the steak as a substitute for chimichurri???? Also £22 for a small bit of rump and chips is way over priced.

Very disappointed with the mussels last night. Tasted ok, if a tad on the small side, but got totally feed up with the number of woody thyme stalks in the dish I had fight my way round. Could have done with some nice bread for the source. Glad we got there early as appeared to be very limited parking.

We appreciated the effort the team went to and how pleasant they were. We heard the coffee was great so we returned a second time to try it, but to be honest, I was really disappointed by the quality of the coffee, and I would say in general the place is a little understaffed as both times we waited a while to get served. Stunning location and would recommend a visit for that alone!

Really wanted to like this place and found a nice sunny spot out on the deck but the staff really didn’t seem to be interested in serving us. It wasn’t that busy but service was so slow. In the end we gave up and went down the road to the cycle cafe.

Stopped off after a walk through the Cotswolds. Absolutely beautiful views at the window table. The food was amazing! burger and fish finger sandwich was perfect. Service was brilliant, very fast, very friendly and professional too. Would definitely come back

Great food, lovely views and amazing customer service. My little one had some pancakes here a few months ago and had been nagging to go back for them again, but when we got there unfortunately they were no longer on the menu!! But the lovely lady who served us did her best to recreate them for him. Tater tots are so good! One of our favourite places to go for breakfast- been a few times and it’s consistently good!

We had a lovely evening there over the Christmas break, great food and fantastic music from a local live band. Cocktails were great value 👍🏼

It's a lovely location, food was nice the only let down was the service. We sat outside, It took 20 minutes to get basic cold drinks. It took nearly 50 mins to get our food. There were other diners that arrived after us, yet managed to get their food before us, which was a bit disappointing.

A cracking Sunday (Mothers day ) lunch with family. I went for the roast beef and I wasn't disappointed, really good quality meat and fabulous yorkshires and veg. I was too full for a pudding unfortunately! Looking forward to returning for breakfast once the weather improves! Only downside was it was very noisy in the so difficult to have a conversation over the table. Not sure whether that was the acoustics, the number of people in there (it was busy) or a bit of both.

I really wanted to like this place. The staff are very good and try their hardest to make you feel welcome but you do feel like they could do with 2-3 extra people. The menu is fairly basic and the chef talented but we were all slightly disappointed by the food. The venue is very open-plan and was very noisy. There was live music on - the band were good but just a bit too loud for the venue as conversation, even in the annex, was difficult so we didn’t even have dessert. The key test for any restaurant is “would you go back”. Sadly, the answer is no as everything (except the staff) was just a bit less than you wanted.

We booked a table for 9 on 23rd December while staying in a lodge on Summer Lake. The atmosphere was vibrant and quite noisy , the service was very good and the food was also good , however the choice of drinks was very poor as they were out of many beers and lagers .The reason given that they were closing early January , better planning for the future maybe !!!!

The food was average, chicken burger was dry and children’s burger had cheese(additional £1) which luckily was a small pea size amount as it was extra mature which most children would find strong, burger was not edible. This aside, the reason for the review was the service. I had to make 3 requests and that would seem like I was being fussy, the staff certainly treated me that way, but it was to ask for cutlery, napkins and the beans that went with the children’s meals. I had to ask twice for this as the first request was ignored. Next, the brioche bun for the adults burger came out as a seeded burger bun, not what was on the menu or what other customers had for their burgers, I was ok with this but as my husband has an intolerance we had to ask for a replacement, at this point the waitress, Jenna, stated it was our fault for not telling her. This is correct but she never asked and in our defence, the menu stated a brioche bun so we were not to know the corners were being cut and different buns used. They did replace the burger top with a brioche bun when asked. Finally, the bill arrives and we were charged extra for a children’s meal, I would normally ignore as not worth the hassle but we had such an awful time I asked and they didn’t know why so removed the charge, later saying the menu was incorrect that’s why. People have bad days but none of our requests were unreasonable and I feel the food and service was poor and does not reflect other reviews. We tried to eat local and not a chain or the popular eatery in the area but I feel I made a poor decision with the lakeside. If you visit, check your bill, do not assume the menu is correct and expect corners cut.

I’ve visited Lakeside multiple times now and it never fails to disappoint. It’s a great place for a coffee and a catch up, weekend brunch or evening dinner. Watching the water sports or the live music adds a great little extra to this unique venue. I’d recommend booking a table as it gets busy! The service is friendly and efficient, and the food has greatly improved in recent years. Couldn’t recommend more.

I booked a table for Saturday brunch during our weekend away. We arrived to a friendly welcome and were seated quickly, when we ordered we got offered a table by the window that had just vacated; We gladly moved to allow us to sit and enjoy the beautiful lake views in the sunshine - thank you! I ordered the GF pancakes and my partner ‘The Lakeside’ breakfast and they were able to make this DF and had oat milk for him to enjoy a coffee. Our meals took a little while to arrive, but they were very busy, we had asked for dietary amendments and we didn’t mine sitting and enjoying the views :) Our meals were enjoyed and we thought the bill was very good for our brunch. Meat a bit chewy and underdone but very good service

Really liked the place. Ate there with a friend today at lunch. Although it s raining today, the view on the lake is really nice, the place is simple, modern, nice in my opinion, clean. We got both Caesar chicken salad and they were really big, with really much chicken, no scam here with small portions. We also add squids to share and it was also a large portion. It was good, and really filling, for a very reasonable price (14.5 for the big salad bowl). Service was quick but we were the only customers with a lady, so might be different when crowded!

Can’t fault the service but awful food. Clearly the people who rated this place 5 stars for the food don’t have great standards. I had the croquettes to start, cold in the middle, so not cooked properly….. then the chimichurri chicken which tasted like fish (?!) served over some extremely oily chips. Probably a better venue for drinks as the location is nice, just wouldn’t recommend to eat here.

Good pleasant dog-friendly cafe on the water’s edge. We came for afternoon coffees. They were of good strength and came with a biscoff biscuit. Downsides are the toilets (cold, outdated and dirty) and quality of the staff (slow making drinks and two tables remained uncleared yet the staff weren’t busy - we were the only people in the cafe so it was strange to see tables left uncleared). I’d recommend it as a place to come, and it was great to see the water sport activities you could do from the cafe.

Food was absolutely delicious. Service was great.We have been more than happy with the ladies which served our table. We felt spoiled by the waitresses. Thank you for your fantastic service and food. Atmosphere was amazing . It's a superb location with the beautiful lake. There is only one issue with this place toilets are disgusting, dirty. Broken Toilet seat and no toilet paper in the ladies.

I think this may be one of the best breakfasts we’ve had out! Everything was cooked perfectly, and of high quality for a reasonable price! The staff were very friendly and this is a lovely spot watching the water sports! Would 100% come back if I’m the area.

Had a lovely 2 course meal here while staying in the Cotswolds. The mussels were cooked to perfection. Staff were very friendly and helpful and service quick. It has a very cosy feel to it with fairy lights and tea light candles on the tables. Chocolate brownie was also very good and they allowed me to swap the cream for ice cream. We ate in the dark so couldn't see the lake but would imagine on light summer evenings, would be a lovely view, would definitely like to visit again in the summer!

I have visited 4 times this year for breakfast and every time has been lovely. Excellent location right by the lake. Dog friendly. Lovely breakfast menu. Great service. Recommended to book. Parking on your doorstep. My daughter took part in water-skiing(pre bookable) which we could watch from the terrace. Will visit again

Wow what service! We arrived here by chance on a walk and were treated so well. we weren’t the easiest customers- kids, wheelchair, gluten free, moved seats twice and honestly nothing was too much trouble. Gemma and her team were great! AND the food was gorgeous!

I ordered spicy rice(prawns,chicken,chorizos)on 22th August for dinner,this rice was not hot ,just a little warm,I asked the staff to make it hotter,it turned out it was hot on top and the bottom was still cold, obviously they they put the cooked food into microwave and charged £17,not cooked freshly!second day I had very bad diarrhoea.after I asked a lady gave me the bill which she didn’t,until long time later I asked another man .never go there again.

Chance call in for breakfast - friendly and helpful welcome - chose table inside by window with view over the water (able to watch the inflatable riders bounce by behind the speedboat) - enjoyed quality food and coffee - very fair pricing for the offering...
