We came here for dinner as part of their dine and stay package, and our dinner was superb. We had the duck parfait followed by the chateaubriand, which was cooked perfectly (medium rare). The staff were really helpful and friendly, and nothing was too much bother. The service was perfectly timed. The drinks were quite expensive but it's a hotel, so I tend to expect that.. the house style bottle of red was good at around £30 I'd recommend dinner here and suggest staying open-minded about some of the other reviews. We enjoyed a wonderful experience at The Swan

A group of friends meet up once a year just to catch up, If you think that fish and chips (small piece of haddock barely warm in some kind of thin batter) and a pudding (probably bought in because it was nice) is worth paying over £40 for then you will like this place. Lovely building and great location but less quality food than the average cheap pub food but for 4 times the price!

My wife and I called in on 26 September on our first visit to Bibury. The offer of a cream tea tempted us. We were not disappointed. Lovely scones, both plain and fruit and lashings of cream and jam. A bonus was the fine weather so we enjoyed it on the front terrace.

I booked a table recently for Sunday lunch (at 12:15) although there was only one other table in use (inside) when we arrived so I don't think a booking was necessary (although there were a number of outside tables in use). The staff were all very friendly and the food was generally very nice, the broccoli was a little too al-dente and personally I would have liked the roast potatoes to be crispier but it was all still very tasty. The beef was cooked perfectly and the Yorkshire pudding was delicious!

Visited for an afternoon tea for a joint 50th birthday celebration. We booked a month in advance and chose here because it offered a vegan version on the website. Received 2 confirmations of this so were disappointed on arrival to be told vegan version not actually offered. Non vegans enjoyed their afternoon tea. I had mushroom on toast, which was fine, but a long way to travel from West Mids for that. Staff polite but lacking warmth. Setting delightful.

Staff were super nice and friendly. The only thing that really let the whole thing down was the fact we paid £8.50 for the beef croquettes, and they came out and they were 2 tiny patty’s. They tasted great, but not worth £4.25 each. Great steak and nice atmosphere. There was some people dancing in the corner which added to the ambience.

The venue is lovely but the food and finesse was disappointing. We chose our meal only to be told that we had been given an old menu and that there were updated ones although we were not offered one, we were given a rough idea of what was on it. We had Sunday lunch and both had lamb. It was really fatty and the fat was not rendered so not edible. The Yorkshire pudding was cold and greasy. Veg was OK. On looking around the restaurant decor was lovely. While drinking our coffee we watched the table next to us being laid and the cutlery being placed using the fork prongs etc. We then watched while a table had the gentleman's plate etc removed while his wife was still eating. So in short. Lovely venue. Food disappointing. Some staff need training. Not worth the money

Great recommendation - Good service, beautiful setting, topped off with great food. The pea ravioli was delicious; very fresh. Returned the following day and had a lovely drink on the deck chairs by the stream. Right next to the trout farm, squirrels leap, a lovely stream and a coffee bar. Would definitely recommend.

Really poor. Initially we booked in the restaurant but, having looked at the website, decided we preferred the food in the bar. I telephoned and changed the booking, explaining that we preferred the simpler menu in the bar. When we got there we were told they didn’t do the bar food anymore and the website had not been updated since before Covid. How complacent is that? They also had clearly not informed their staff because the person I spoke to on the telephone obviously did not know that. We were then offered ‘complimentary’ bread which came with a type of garlic butter but it was set out on a slate that was boiling hot, so the butter melted and started going all over the table and the waitress had to take it away again. Just bizarre for a really expensive restaurant that is setting itself as having pretty high end food, to get something so basic wrong

Popped in for afternoon tea on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Lovely setting, my son and I shared the afternoon tea, which was quite pricey but the exceptional service and setting made it worthwhile. In particular our waitress, I think she was called Maria, was friendly, attentive and as “solare” as the day itself. Would return here just to see this lovely lady again!

Looking for a perfect dinner I asked a number of locals I met in the high street for their recommendations . All included the Swan and I was grateful for their advice . I ordered a ribeye steak which served as rare as I requested and was juicy and delicious. The wine list was impressive and hospitality warm . A good start to my Cotswolds experience . The inn was already fully booked for dinner by 4 in the afternoon so be sure to reserve early.

In a location that could be right out of a Jane Austin novel, it just seemed like a perfect place to take a break. It was Sunday so the village was packed with people out for a Sunday drive, tour buses were dropping off even more people. The Swan acted as a oasis away from the crowds, the menu looked amazing and if time had permitted we would have returned for a full meal

We were 5 of us for Afternoon tea today. We entered the courtyard seating area at 2 pm and were attended by the waiter at 2:26 pm. We had to go and bring the menu cards ourselves. After the order for tea and food was taken, we were finally served at 2:54 pm. There were a total of 13 tables in the courtyard and only 6 were occupied when we came in. The staff looked overworked and were doing their best to be patient, but as a customer you only judge by the service you get so I have to say that the service was below par and food was average... oh!! The waiter forgot to bring cups for the tea and by the time the cups arrived the tea was half cold...
