Decent bistro offering in the very pretty but very touristy Bibury. Staff are friendly and efficient. Large dining room and separate pub areas. I’ve scored at 4 out of fairness - but it is good rather than very good but better than average!

I booked Sunday lunch (for 8) at The Swan to celebrate our wedding anniversary, having had a wonderful reception at the same venue 20 years ago. It was incredible from start to finish - a special, private table, and the warmest of welcomes. The service was attentive but not intrusive, and the extra little touches (glass of Prosecco & anniversary pudding!) just made it feel truly celebratory. The Swan will, once again become part of our family memories - thank-you to all who looked after us today. [The food was also lovely - superlative roasties & yorkshire pudding!]

I took a large group of American travellers for dinner in mid-July 2024 and we had the most wonderful experience at The Swan. Molly was excellent beforehand ensuring that the booking was accurate and that all our group members' food intolerances and allergies were catered for. We ate in the library, at a long table and whilst we didn't opt to decorate there was plenty of space in the middle for candelabra or flowers for a different sort of occasion. The service from Maria, who took care of the group that day, was excellent, and the chefs who cooked the meal also popped in to say hello to the group, which was a nice touch. The food was excellent and the hotel altered dishes to cater for our guests who had specific allergies. A big thank you to Molly, Maria and the chefs at the Swan for contributing to a wonderful evening.

I booked a table for 16 people to celebrate my 60th birthday. The arrangements were efficiently dealt with and we were, add to feel welcome on the night of the meal. All my guests were very complimentary about the food - mine was delicious - and the ambience was spot on.

We came here for dinner as part of their dine and stay package, and our dinner was superb. We had the duck parfait followed by the chateaubriand, which was cooked perfectly (medium rare). The staff were really helpful and friendly, and nothing was too much bother. The service was perfectly timed. The drinks were quite expensive but it's a hotel, so I tend to expect that.. the house style bottle of red was good at around £30 I'd recommend dinner here and suggest staying open-minded about some of the other reviews. We enjoyed a wonderful experience at The Swan

We were 5 of us for Afternoon tea today. We entered the courtyard seating area at 2 pm and were attended by the waiter at 2:26 pm. We had to go and bring the menu cards ourselves. After the order for tea and food was taken, we were finally served at 2:54 pm. There were a total of 13 tables in the courtyard and only 6 were occupied when we came in. The staff looked overworked and were doing their best to be patient, but as a customer you only judge by the service you get so I have to say that the service was below par and food was average... oh!! The waiter forgot to bring cups for the tea and by the time the cups arrived the tea was half cold...

We were very disappointed with the quality of food and drinks. Soup was inedible, chocolate cake had never been near any chocolate and was like eating sand. Paninis were made from awful bread, served with a limp ‘salad’ and a few crisps, incredibly average and extremely overpriced. Chocolate cookie has no taste and again was extremely dry. Coffee was reminiscent of a 00s vending machine. Bring a picnic and avoid this place.

We went for afternoon tea. Lovely hotel in a perfect Cotswold village. Idyllic. Staff delightful. Served in a small, beautiful lounge. I had emailed the day before to request no pickle in our sandwiches. I mentioned it again when they took our order. When the tea arrived the sausage roll and scones were delicious. The cakes lovely but a little bit underwhelming. But the sandwiches became a three act farce. Following the no pickle request we received 2 egg, 2 just tomato and 2 just cucumber. We asked why these had no meat or cheese or anything in them. They took them all away and brought back 8 ham only on brown. We looked aghast and said why have we now only got ham, at least we had egg on white before. They returned with 4 extra egg also on brown!!! Our neighbours were enjoying a selection of white and brown of salmon, egg, ham and something with salad. We gave up at that point. It was a bizarre inability to deal with the smallest deviation from the menu which made it all very disappointing. A real shame as it had the makings of a five star experience!
