Generous roast Sunday lunch which everyone enjoyed, but very intermittent service. After 20 minutes, we had to go to the hostess desk as the sparkling water we ordered as we sat down hadn't arrived, and nor had anyone to take our drinks or food orders. This resulted in our orders being taken, but after another 15 minutes, we had to ask again for the water and the drinks. We were at out table for over 30 mins before we all had something to drink. The food then arrived quickly, although one dessert was forgotten and had to be asked for. The food was all good, but let down by the service. When pubs ask to have the tables back for the next sitting, they need to make sure you are served so that you can eat and have coffee before having to leave.

We had a lovely meal at The Wheatsheaf Saturday night. We had our small dog with us and it was no problem and they made a fuss of her. We felt very welcome and the food was delicious and the service you couldn’t fault. Would definitely come back again and would recommend this pub to anyone searching for a lovely village pub with great food and lovely decor.

We visited the Wheatsheaf back in 2021 and absolutely adored the Pub. We decided to visit again this but this time, with an overnight stay and we’re pleased to say that it did not disappoint. The room and pub itself was beautiful, we ate alfresco on the picturesque terrace with very attentive service from our server Duncan. Duncan couldn’t do enough for us and made the night even more special, he’s an absolute credit to the establishment, this really set us up for a comfortable night. I think it’s safe to say that my wife and will definitely be returning.

We booked The Wheatsheaf for a family get together. From booking until the day itself the Wheatsheaf were incredibly helpful and accommodating. On the day the manager and staff were fabulous, the pizzas were delicious and the setting in the garden was beautiful. We were incredibly well looked after and it was super to end our wedding weekend celebrations at The Wheatsheaf …. Thank you all so so much Carolyn and family

Whilst staying in the area we had a couple of lovely meals in the lovely garden area at the Wheatsheaf. We didn't have a reservation on the very busy Saturday evening, but the manager found a table for us. All elements of our meal were lovely and the quality and taste of the dishes was excellent. The service we received from the young members of staff was really positive and attentive. Overall really enjoyable, thank you.

It’s been a few years since I came here, as so much choice in this area and new openings to check out so it fell off the radar a bit. But decided to visit with a friend for a Sunday evening supper! Wow. Really impressive. Great atmosphere, tables not crammed together like they are in some places, friendly service and brilliant food. 10/10

I was really looking forward to dinner at the Wheatsheaf, a friend had been a few weeks before and said it had been great. The ambiance was quite nice, but on a really cold night the fire near us was not lit, which was a shame. I ordered sourdough (three thin slices arrived), mussels and truffled chips. The mussels had loads of cockles in, which I wasn’t bothered by, but there was an awful lot of grit in the dish which made it inedible. I sent it back. The chips were okay but not very truffled. My friend ordered the lamb stew with dumplings. It looked unappetising and didn’t taste much better. The two small dumplings were rock hard. The staff were pleasant.

The beer I wanted was not available . My partner’s large glass of wine I thought was a bit pricey. Overall the meals were very good but part of my liver was inedible and I had to spit it out. I mentioned this to the waiter but gout no feedback. The menu choice , service and ambiance were good

Fantastic Sunday lunch with friends. Started with a couple of glasses of Nyetimber and a few pints from the great selection of beer! Starters was a luscious cheese soufflé for most of us and one Devilled lamb's kidneys which looked great. Three roast beef and one roast chicken - amazing quality meat and both included roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and lots of vegetables. Couldn’t fault it. Sticky toffee pudding, chocolate tart and coconut panna cotta to finish. The only complaint was from one of the chaps who wanted custard with the apple and blackberry crumble - and sadly they couldn’t do it! The pub was packed and that created a great atmosphere. Clearly a very popular place to eat. Will definitely be back.

This was our second time at The Wheatsheaf having been here exactly a year ago for the same occasion - my sister's birthday. The ambience is lovely and typical Cotswolds. The food was again superb. The wine we really wanted sadly wasn't available. The one we had instead was passable. A shame but not a deal-breaker. Staff were friendly but poorly trained and inexperienced and the service was chaotic at best. We were served by several different members of staff, often asking us the same questions! The jug of cream we asked for, for one of our puddings, took ages to appear and was then randomly delivered to the table behind us, who looked suitably confused. We guessed the waitress had delivered them our order and went over to relieve them of it. Seconds later the waitress came over to our table with another jug of cream. Baffling. Most disappointing of all though was that I made mention on the booking form of the fact it was a birthday celebration and would very much appreciate some gesture towards it, but nothing happened. Last year the staff were superb, very professional, and a number of staff came out and sang happy birthday. We would still go again but standards seem to have deteriorated somewhat on the service side.

On booking our table for 4 people, we were asked if the booking was for a special occasion to which we notified them it was for a 60th birthday. Service was poor, quality of Peroni and Estrella was flat and server went on to re pour our drinks in to the glasses as a ‘cure’. We were surprised and disappointed with this approach. The wine we chose was out of stock although a replacement was satisfactory. No effort was made to make the occasion special so a family member approached the staff to see if anything could be done. The response was a single candle inserted to one of the puddings. However the quality of food was good. Only because of this last point did we stop the rating being a 2 star. For £250 we feel disappointed.

Had a very nice meal here, celebrating a birthday. It was a blessing to find a restaurant that wasn't enforcing a Christmas menu and music. Not being local we had no knowledge of the area, so this was a pleasant surprise. We had a great time, the staff were friendly and helpful and we didn't feel rushed to vacate our table. The food was great and good value. Very happy with the overall experience and will be booking again.

Stopped in the Noel Arms twice while in the area for food. Enjoyed their adorable coffee shop area & had a separate sit down dinner. The coffee shop was adorable & decorated for the fall season. I had a great oat milks latte & vegan cake slice to go. I noticed they had a sit down dining area & we came back for dinner later on. Dinner service: The dining area was busy for dinner service but staff was quick to tend to us. They had a decent selection of British pub fare as well as a selection of their award winning Indian dishes. They also had clearly marked vegan dinners - which is why I came in. I got the vegan sausage & veggie dish. It was alright. The sausage & veggies were on the oily side. (Which caught me sort of off guard but it wasn’t bad!) But in an area that doesn’t have many vegan choices- it was a blessing. I also got their Naan bread with hummus as a side. That was amazing. The Naan was hot, fresh & seasoned so well. The hummus was the winner. So delicious to dip the Naan in. It was a very quiet & relaxing dinner. Staff was great.
