The best restaurants in Truro Boscawen Cornwall, Isles of Scilly South West

Lovely location, small, great cakes, but very poor quality coffee -- acidic and unpleasant blend we left as unable to drink, but the doughnuts are brilliant!

What a find this place proved to be. The food and coffee were fantastic, served by the most friendly staff Would very much recommend.

We weren’t sure about place when we found it - but very pleasantly surprised - super quick service - really lovely coffee that was nice & hot! And mushrooms on sour dough was absolutely delicious!!! Well done to staff!

Waited 30mins just to get a takeaway box

After reading the reviews me and my son decided to visit for the first time. Let me tell you we were absolutely disappointed. I don't normally like to post negative comments but I feel like something really needs to be done. We had the worst butter chicken and chicken tikka I have ever tasted in my life, and I had few before! Both were pink in colour and tasted like pure sugar. It was honestly such a waste of money, we had way better tikka at Wetherspoons. The staff seems lovely although the communication is an issue. We didn't really feel comfortable being in there as it was really empty and cold. I feel bad for writing this but there is so many restaurants in Truro they definitely have to do something about the quality of the food. Unfortunately we won't be visiting again.

Arrived at 1715 on a Wednesday to get a takeaway, couldn't park outside road was full, found a parking space 5 mins away walked to the restaurant and it was closed. Did come back another day when you were open and got a great takeaway and managed to park right outside, I know now google are a pain if you try to change the opening times.

Really great, a cup of tea a piece of cake sat out in the sun watching the light aircraft take off and land.

My first time ever dining at Piero's. The food was delicious; hot and fresh. We will be back!

Hi I've been in your coffer shop today and feel very disappointed. I don't know what happend to your customer service but there isn't any. I was served by a young guy that had no personality whatsoever. There was no real knowledge of what your were saying. He didn't even look up he moved away to make the order without saying a word and it was the same when I collected my order. You would be better with staff who want to work and understand if it wasn't for the customers he wouldn't have a job. I meet up with a friend every month and we normally visit yourselfs. I think it's time for a rethink. I live in truro and they are lots of coffee shops to choose from.

The best steak I have ever had. It was an incredible meal, everything was impeccable. The staff were all so kind and friendly and so attentive without being to much. It is pricey but perfect for special occasions and you definitely get what you pay for. For Christmas we asked for a gift voucher so we can come back soon and enjoy more amazing food.

On arrival we were greeted in a friendly manner and enjoyed good food but felt it was well over priced and portions were very small To our shock and amazement a bottle of prosecco was £50 so we drank 2 bottles of Cobra at an alarming £18!!!! After aproaching the manager regarding his drink prices he became arguementative and defensive about his overheads ...... not our issue Would not recommend a visit here due to pricing and portion size.

We ventured in here at 1pm. Obviously, the lunchtime rush. It was very busy. Anyhow the staff were great. Rushed off their feet as always. However, it was good service. The food was hot and delicious. I had the special, sweet potatoe and chick pea curry. I think that was being served just for today. Anyway, all in all, it was a good experience.

This was a first visit but def won’t be the last! The atmosphere was fantastic, lots of staff, lots of eaters, great buzz. Menu was clear and well presented. Charlie gave great beer suggestions and was def worth listening to. It was super busy so the wait for food was quite long but oh so worth the wait. The food, whilst not cheap, was delicious and plentiful. We all left stuffed! 😋 The burger was well cooked and quite frankly on of the best I’ve eaten outside of the bid smoke! Chicken tenders were loved. Sweet potato fries were hot and crispy and yummy. The dirty fries were hugely enjoyed and demolished. Drinks are expensive but that’s to be expected. The only slight niggle was that as there were lots of staff on (they were all professional, friendly and knowledgeable) that could have checked on us about our food. Apart from that it was an outstanding experience that I can highly recommend to anyone visiting Truro. Definitely going to visit again! Thank you to all who served us. We had a truly epic time.

My wife and I had a splendid couple of meals here last week (23 + 25 Oct). The food was excellent : calamari and sole goujons - and the waiting staff were both courteous and friendly. We were surprised to read a poor recent review where a steak was criticised - in fairness the restaurant holds itself out as a primarily fish restaurant which maybe explains the problem ? We are very happy to recommend the Watch House. Hugh + Sarah Price
