Baker & Chef in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

We weren’t sure about place when we found it - but very pleasantly surprised - super quick service - really lovely coffee that was nice & hot! And mushrooms on sour dough was absolutely delicious!!! Well done to staff!

Enjoyed my coffee but ordered a bacon bap that was very dissatisfying. Bacon served in a very cheap supermarket brioche bun. These have no substance so was still hungry after I finished. Staff friendly but I won’t return

I had the breakfast here, it was very tasty and presented differently than most I've had, with the sausages sliced lengthways. All ingredients cooked from fresh. Excellent place to stop.

Really disappointing by the lunch menu which looks like it should be appetising. Dry cold sour dough, bacon was fatty and had cold grease sitting on it. Baguettes are like the ones you buy in supermarkets to pop in the oven yourself. Nothing seemed fresh. Was served coffee from a tray with spilled drinks over it.

Brilliant staff, warm and friendly. Cafe welcomes dogs AND makes decent coffee! Clean. Generous portions. Just a very nice place !

This is a lovely little cafe. The staff are so welcoming which is lovely if you visit alone as I have done a few times. The coffee & tea cakes are really lovely. All the lunch items sounded really nice but we had the baked potatoes which were perfectly cooked & beautifully served.

We had a great lunch, my wife had the mushrooms and I had the ploughman’s. Both were delicious and reasonably priced, we were so relaxed and contented that my wife inadvertently left her glasses on the table. One phone call to them, as we were no longer in the area, and Baker & Chef were very helpful and posted the glasses to us. Two very grateful and impressed customers!

Stumbled on this little gem. Great Cornish tea and coffee, delicious cakes and freshly made sandwiches. Their homemade chutney is amazing!

Excellent, well priced little cafe with lots of fresh, homemade cakes etc. Really good variety on the menu and a novel but brilliant concept of build your own sandwich with each item included being indivisible priced. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly and the cafe was really clean. I would highly recommend it!

Delighted to find this relatively newly opened bakery coffee shop. The sourdough bread was fantastic - I had to have a second round of toast! The build your own sandwiches allow for the fussiest of eaters with a wide range of very fresh breads and filling options. Despite being busy when we arrived service was fast and friendly. Already planning our next visit.

Amazing! First time we visited, sandwiches freshly made to order (which were so yummy), tasty hot chocolate. The toilet facilities were great too, breastfeeding welcome posters up, nappies and lady products to hand! Staff Absolutely fantastic! Will 10000% be back! Thankyou !

This was our first visit here, perfect! We only wanted a coffee and a sandwich, but what we got was good coffee and a really good sandwich. We both loved the multiple choice way of ordering your sandwich. The homemade fig and apple chutney was delicious. Friendly servers, efficient service. Will definitely be back.

Food and staff wonderful. Excellent choice of fresh sandwiches and cakes. One of the best independent cafes I’ve ever been to.

Excellent lunch in a new cafe in Truro. Came last week and had a lovely tea cake with soft butter and today had lunch special of Goats Cheese, caramelised red onion and rocket tart worth side salad which was delicious and quite filling. Would recommend and will definitely be back again.

Great little cafe food amazing and so much choice, service was 10/10 and staff so helpful. Definitely would recommend this little gem.
