Sadly this place has gone down hill. This was my favourite place for coffee, cake, breakfasts etc, but since re-opening, post lockdown it has really gone downhill. Prices have gone through the roof (eg. breakfast & a coffee up from £6.95 to £9.45!) Quality down. Just one slice of cheap sliced-bread toast with breakfast, which is served in a scruffy little cardboard box. Where have the plates gone?! Service. The staff are still friendly and smiley, but the service is atrocious (50 minute wait for a breakfast, and no apology). When I last visited, there were several people getting cheesed off with the poor service.

Fantastic location, bike friendly, lovely food and friendly staff. After a few hours in the saddle, calling into the cafe was the best way to round off the day.

It would be hard to think of a better bike cafe than this. Perfect location, great food, ideal surroundings, friendly staff. Also great for walkers and horse riders. Loads of space both indoors and out. And it's the HQ for the Saint Piran cycling team as well so some of that talent might just rub off on us poor amateurs as well!

Perfect location to explore the Bissoe trail, by foot, bike or horse. This has just had a stunning update and refurb giving plenty of outside space and a new lounge area, which is a high spec not something you would usually expect from a cafe, (must be seen). The staff are friendly and helpful, the coffee is amazing and the cakes are just to die for, always Vegan and Gluten free options on drinks and food. This is an ideal location to meet friends for coffee, cake or a mid day snack. Great place for families. Always a favourite place for a walk and coffee stop, to escape the crowds and just enjoy the local tranquility.

Bissoe Cafe and Bike Hire is set in beautiful surroundings on the Bissoe Cycle Trail just south of Truro in the Carnon Valley. The proprietors are very friendly and helpful, with lots of cycling expertise. The cafe has just undergone a major refurbishment to fit in with Covid guidelines. There is lots of outside seating, as well as comfy setees and a log burner inside for when restrictions allow. Kids and dogs are always welcomed. The cafe sells a delicious variety of cakes including vegan and gluten free, and snacks, salads and hot dishes including vegetarian options are all available along with Saint Piran Coffee and cider from Rattler which are products that support Cornwall's own Saint Piran Procycling teams. A treat not to be missed.

Firstly this is a great place to visit tucked away in the Bissoe Valley half way between Truro and Falmouth. The Cafe was certainly way above average with freshly made sandwiches and piping hot tea and coffee. All the cakes and sandwiches are made on premises. This is a walking and bike riding area there is lots of parking available. If in area well worth a pop in

Haven’t been here since the improvements. Just came for a drink with a friend on a walk, 2 hot drinks and they had no change at all! Scrambled around to see what change they could find between them but was still short so I took what they had. Not impressed. Went to the loo no toilet paper! There was loads of staff milling about surely these things could easily be sorted? Tea and coffee were nice at least. They weren’t particularly busy either. Just disappointing.

I stopped off here for some lunch today. The toasted sandwiches with salad are wonderful. The sandwich filling was generous and the salad and coleslaw very tasty. For £5.95 great value. Very friendly staff and ideally situated if cycling the Porthreath to Devoran route.

My friends and I aged 11-13 set off on a very wet and cold day between Christmas and New Year. We were really enjoying using the trail until I got a puncture which was about to ruin our day. At the cafe the bike repair section was closed, but a nice guy in the cafe kindly showed us how to fix it so we could finish our ride. We enjoyed your awesome hot chocolate from the cafe at the same time. If it wasn't for the kind chap we wouldn't have been able to finish the ride, so thanks mate! We will be back on a sunny day.

It was our intention to cycle North to South on the coast to coast trail from Portreath and do lunch at the pub. Instead having reached Devoran though we thought we’d head back up the trail a short way to the Bike Chain cafe at Bissoe which we had passed earlier. This was a strange phenomenon for us as we are always drawn to a pint, however, we were not disappointed by our alternative and it was nice to break a habit. We were welcomed with friendly service, piping hot coffee and delicious cake. Just perfect and gave us the energy and the will to continue on our return leg. All in all we spent a total of 4 hours cycling, seeing the views, eating and drinking - a perfect half day excursion. Make the Bike Chain a stop - it’s fab.

Thank you for the best Christmas lunch I have had in a long time, A veggie option is usually quite ordinary, but not this one. It was packed with flavour and originality.

Absolutely wonderful visit. The cream tea was the best I think I’ve ever had. Warm scones, huge pot of cream and delicious jam, must be homemade. The tea was piping hot and came with an additional tea bag should you like it strong.

Wish we had read other reviews first! Very disappointed, outside of hotel and views lovely inside tired and dated. Greeted by a sign on the main entrance explaining to go around the back of the building and ringing to be eventually answered by a polite but rather eerie character. There was no bar on offer over the whole weekend and no dinner available as he wasn't sure if his mother had been shopping!! Unfortunately the bathroom wasn't clean and the breakfast average. On the morning of leaving we received an email to say payment had been taken and we saw no one as we left, a very odd way to run a hotel business!
