Absolutely wonderful visit. The cream tea was the best I think I’ve ever had. Warm scones, huge pot of cream and delicious jam, must be homemade. The tea was piping hot and came with an additional tea bag should you like it strong.

We really love this place for a cream tea. We are a family of 5 and there is enough food choices to keep our 6 year old to 15 year old happy. The ‘tea pot’ trail is very sweet as is seeing the original mill in use. The staff are friendly and the tables are spotlessly clean.

We stumbled along this place while on a long circular walk from Carne Beach. A very quaint, tranquil setting offering lovely homemade food. It is definitely worth a visit even if it’s just for coffee and cake.

This is well worth searching out, down in a valley off the St Mawes road(how on earth did the horses get up the hill when it was a working mill, tandem perhaps.) The mill gear is still working have a look when you go to the toilets in the basement and then go upstairs to see the grinding stone, look at the overhead fed wheel round t'back. Good selection of food and if it's fine sitting by the pond is brill, have a walk round the pond,it's quirky! It's a "What a life without a care, if we have'nt time to stop and stare" place.

2nd visit, lovely and peaceful sitting by the pond watching the birds and eating lovely fresh made chunky sarnies, took a walk around the pathway alongside the pond to be greeted by teapots, cups and all sorts hanging off the trees, lovely stuff, rustic and quirky, old water mill. Topped off by buying potted plants at cheap prices, very friendly staff and great service. Well done all of you we will return.

Came upon this attraction by chance. Good parking area. Good seating area indoors or outdoors. Set in an old mill which still has a working water wheel, plenty of old tools and equipment. A short walk around the large pond is very interesting with old cups and teapots hanging from branches, chairs stuck in the hedge and some wicker artefacts. A lovely setting for a cuppa or snack.

Went here at insistence of a friend who wanted to try the place. Sat outside on a nice morning - in a rustic and quirky medieval mill setting, but plenty of local wildlife to entertain and interest.. Coffee and cake adequate. Service minimal but very friendly. A bit expensive for what you get.

Lovely tucked away location, beautiful surroundings, birds come to your table keen for your crumbs. You wont find a better cream tea in Cornwall, or let's face it, the World! A nice walk through the woods from here down to the lovely Pendower and Carne Beach for a dip. Lots of interesting quirky things to find on site, the willow arch, the wicker spider, the mermaid, truly unique. Also nice crafts for sale in the upstairs of the mill. Friendly service and yummy bakewell tart. Well worth a visit if in the area. It is missed by us when closed and we visit regularly and like to bring friends/visitors with us.

We had passed the Mill on a trip from our camp site to Mevagissey and thought it looked very pretty and inviting, so decided to drop in for beakfast on our last morning before travelling home. They don't actually do breakfasts, and we were recommended a nearby bakery cafe, by the very friendly lady serving. We explained we only wanted a light bite and she offered to do toast. I had lovely thick toast with home made marmalade and my husband had apple pie and ice cream, then a brownie! They do tea/ coffee and home made cakes and lunches, There are lovely jugs of flowers on the tables, inside and out around the mill pond. We did the walk around the pond and were well entertained by the quirky willow fisherman, willow spider, tea cups and teapots and lampshades in trees etc. Little children would love it (and big ones!). Just a beautiful visit. Thank you so much.

Myself and relatives were passing and on the spur of the moment decided to stop for Sunday morning coffee. The cream teas on the adjoining tables looked delicious but we passed on this occasion. We couldn't resist a walk around the pond afterwards and what a delight it was. Loved spotting all the little quirks and taking photos and it was so peaceful - far from the madding crowd.

Visited with a group of 12 pals today. We hadn't booked and each had something different from the menu which was served promptly and with a smile. The cream tea was delicious and a very reasonable price. The walk around the mill pond was very interesting and quirky with something different around every corner. A good selection of plants and crafts were for sale. Altogether a pleasant way to spend an afternoon.

Towards the end of a circular walk around the Roseland Peninsula, we dropped in at Melinsey Mill - well it would rude not to have a cream tea whilst in the West Country. We were not disappointed...super location and scones as light as they come. Do not miss out if you're in the area, on foot, on two wheels or in the car!

Came across this by chance but I was so pleased I did. It looks a bit ramshackle, but they really know how to make you welcome. There were some lovely touches: an extra tea-bag with the hot water for the tea, and a little jug of a salad dressing for the garnish. If you are lucky with the weather and can sit outside you'll be serenaded by song birds, and be sure to go for a walk round the millpond afterwards, there will be pleasant surprises.

You know how it goes, you're tootling along the back country roads on a beautiful autumn afternoon when you see a sign for a café and realise that you fancy a cuppa and a cake. We came at it from the east but if you're travelling on the St Mawes road watch out for the sign.As it was a great find. Excellent coffee, tea and cakes sat out watching the bird feeder. Fascinating and clean loos. A fine old mill and magical garden. All for a few quid.If you are in the area do call.

Tucked away in its own little world. lovely for kids to explore and look at the artefacts and mill workings. Food good though limited in choice. Best in good weather to be able to sit around the pond, there is indoor seating but can be cold inside.

Beautiful surroundings, with lovely old working watermill, but spoilt by overpriced food.Over £15 for 2 cups of tea and 2 slices of cake cannot be justified

Lovely quaint place to visit with working water mill. It's possible to watch it working turning the stone mills inside. The food is fab although there's a bit of a wait if busy. One of the downsides is the pond area is in need of a tidy up. It's also pretty chilly down there as there are big trees over the main outside seating area which stops any sunshine and warmth! Take a warm jumper!

This is a wonderful working watermill with a beautiful walk around the pond. The Miller's Lunch is to die for. Thick cut ham, a massive chunk of cheese, salad, a separate pot of beetroot, pickled onions and homemade coleslaw. And two slices of bread about 1" thick.

We came here for mid morning coffee after visiting the nearby stunning church and gardens of St Just. It is quite unusual but quaint and an interesting location. The pond did look a bit tired but we moved to a table where the water moved and it was pleasant sitting there in the warm September sun.

the grounds of melinsey mill are stunning, with a lovely little walk around the pond or further if you wish. the little tea shop shop/restaurant offers a good menu, giving a variety of options from tea and cake to a meal. I personally had a light tea of coffee and cake. the coffee was a good quality and the cake was beautifully fresh and tasty. the staff were friendly and welcoming. I loved sitting there watching all the little birds which were in and out of trees and at one point came in looking for crumbs.the mill offers a diverse range of locally made gifts which I absolutely love, but think I need a pay rise to enable me to buy them all!I left feeling refreshed and relaxed; I have been before and will definitely be back again

Not much more to add really. Walk fun but food bland, uninteresting and expensive for what it was. Tables needed clearing and the leftovers encouraged the wasps, wouldn't visit again, very disappointed.

Been here a few times now and love it, the cream teas are fantastic as are their selection of cakes. There are some nice millstone tables around the mill pond and such a nice peacefull place to enjoy your food. We were troubled by as few wasps after the jam but there just seems to be more around this summer. This place is always on our to do list when we visit Cornwall.

Wish we had read other reviews first! Very disappointed, outside of hotel and views lovely inside tired and dated. Greeted by a sign on the main entrance explaining to go around the back of the building and ringing to be eventually answered by a polite but rather eerie character. There was no bar on offer over the whole weekend and no dinner available as he wasn't sure if his mother had been shopping!! Unfortunately the bathroom wasn't clean and the breakfast average. On the morning of leaving we received an email to say payment had been taken and we saw no one as we left, a very odd way to run a hotel business!
