The Shed in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

What a gem! We had no idea where to go for lunch but chose the shed; a great choice! The steak was so good and the sole cooked to perfection. Great wine, appetisers and dessert to boot. Fantastic value and the service was great Thank you so much.

Maybe it is a good place to have a drink, but avoid ordering food. Whitebaits tasted like from microwave 🤢 Fish and chips did not taste good too. One good point, dogs are allowed in the evening, which isn't a case with most of the places in a town

We hadn’t booked, but we were welcomed and seated quickly. Our drinks and food arrived quickly, and both of us found our coffee and lunch delicious. So glad we were passing and tempted in, and we’re keen to come back again next time we’re in Cornwall.

Simple and fun. Nice food, great staff. Restaurant was buzzing at 7:30 but dead by 10 and with the people went most of the atmosphere. At £15 burgers should come with more than fries

Good basic food but amazing cocktails. This was a flying visit for us and we know the Shed from past visits, so we often return. Good food, quickly prepared. Great cocktails and good service.

Poor service and virtually no vegan/vegetarian options. Asked for a veggie burger which was on the menu, they didn't have any. Asked what else was vegan, they didn't know. Service was very slow and all front of house seemed uninterested and more keen to huddle round the bar chatting. One waitress was particularly rude, I wouldn't go there again and wouldn't recommend. Lots of much friendlier places in Falmouth.

From start to finish this place was brilliant. Great welcome and super friendly staff, we were served by Indi ( sorry if that’s spelt wrong) who was really friendly and explained our food options well. Food came out super quick and was stunning!! Thank you “The Shed” you were awesome.👍

This was a good quality fish dinner, although the lobster was slightly overcooked. The service was friendly and attentive. The Camel Valley wine was delicious.

Lunch for 4 adults and 2 children Monday 15th July. The food is reasonable as is the atmosphere, but the service we experienced was unacceptably slow. Upon complaining about the length of time the food was taking, the duty manager's attitude could only be described as defensive. I have eaten here before with what was a very pleasant experience. Sadly not this time. We won't be returning.

Haven’t been The Shed for couple years after a rubbish service. Tonight we thought we’d give you a go. Absolutely brilliant! Your staff were lovely, friendly and cannot fault any of them! Food fantastic! House wine great! Good beer! We will be back now, probably every weekend.

Top notch, my partner had the sticky beef which she wanted as a main instead of starter and that’s what she got, perfect portions, well priced, can’t fault it!

Booked way in advance and choose because they are dog friendly. Great communication from them , service was spot on. We had the sharing platter and it was very well presented, really good quality…. And a lot of it !!!! Highly recommend

Was very pleasant atmosphere and good food. A little bit of a wait but not much. Drinks were nice and all reasonably priced for its location. Will be returning again soon.

Called in for dinner on a Friday evening and got a nice table without a reservation. We enjoyed the veggie burger and nachos which were served quickly. Friendly staff and dog friendly. Cocktails seemed popular and looked good!

Enjoyed a really tasty evening meal here. Starters were promptly delivered and tasted great - especially the mini sausages. I had a steak …… cooked to perfection - exactly as I had requested.

Nice setting by the harbour. They have a daily out of season offer from the end of October. We went on a Thursday which is a burger and a pint for £12 (would be >£21 without the offer) and for the price this was a really good burger.

Looking for a latish lunch before visiting the Maritime Museum. This fitted the bill perfectly, had some excellent open sandwiches, with home cooked tacos. Lovely toasted sourdough bread, very generous portions. The service was friendly and welcoming, food came quickly. Good choice of drinks. Would certainly recommend

Very disappointing. Service was lamentable/non-existent. Ordered and waited and waited. Eventually just walked out. No apology and plenty of available staff with little to do. Not a chance I'd go again.

We had read great things about this restaurant on TripAdvisor, but must admit to feel slightly disappointed! The food was ok (BBQ chicken and chips (not enough BBQ sauce making it dry, but was brought some additional when asked) chips ok, but not the best I have had. Risotto was again passable but nothing special.Service was a little slow this evening but staff were pleasant A lovely location and Nice vibe, just didn’t quite do it for us, like it has for others

The food here was fantastic, we had the sharing platter which was a great choice, unfortunately they were out of muscles but were very accommodating in offering substitutes so we had brie wedges instead. The calamari in particular was very tasty, they have an excellent offer on cocktails on Mondays which ensured the venue was still fairly popular on a night which might usually have been quiet. Atmosphere was super, and stzff very friendly. Highly recommended this place.

Situated on the riverside just outside the town centre. Car parks close by. Seating inside and outside overlooking the river. Good menu. Breakfast cooked to order, one of the best I’ve had. Reasonable prices. Good toilets.

Wonderful food and awesome service. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very pleasant and all staff were extremely friendly and understanding during the coronavirus pandemic. Amazing cocktails & reasonably priced. Highly recommend

Popped in on a busy Sunday evening - staff were very pleasant and all Covid trained. We had reserved a table and gave our names and phone number. We both had the Fish of the day dish and it was excellent. Popular spot and good value for money.

Went today the first time that they were able to open. We always go there a couple of times a week for coffee and sometimes a cocktail or wine. It has always been a pleasure to go there as the atmosphere and friendliness of the staff cannot be beaten. Going in yesterday there was a huge difference due to social distancing, it has all been done very tastefully and making sure that it does not look like you are cooped in in a little box it is also bright and airy. For everyone's safety all the staff are wearing masks and gloves and are sanitizing everything. I could certainly recommend this place for coffee or a meal and the food is excellent and not expensive.

I don’t endorse the reviews for this place; very, very average. A touch above Wetherspoons. Personally, I wouldn’t bother.

We went here for an evening meal a week before Christmas, it was busy but this didn't affect the speed of service and the food was great - limited choice for vegetarians so this could be improved, but the servers were lovely and friendly, food was good and hot and the cocktails were fantastic!

It was a wet day so called in for a much needed coffee, as we had dogs with us had to sit at the front of the establishment which wasn’t as warm as it could be due to a cold draft coming from the doors. Coffees were OK but there wasn’t much froth in my cappuccino it was really just a milky coffee more like a latte. We will try again but on a warmer day and hopefully the coffee will be frothy.

We chose the Shed on a recommendation from our hotel and the three of us all very pleased with a meal. The portion sizes were good and the quality was excellent and all the staff were helpful and friendly.

While it was a good cup of coffee and teacske it was very limited for young children. No cakes to speak of and certainly not appealing to child. Not too expensive by standards these days

We stopped in The Shed for a quick lunch.The menu has loads of choice, although it was more main meals than lunch. That said they had a small selection of sandwiches and a kids menu.The sandwiches were great. I had a bacon, Brie and cranberry baguette, it was delicious. The bread was really fresh and the baguette was loaded with filling and flavour. The kids meals were good value and a good size, too.Well worth popping in for lunch if your visiting the the national Maritime museum.

Had lunch there today with my family, lovely food and great service. The food itself was delicious and very well presented. Great staff and very good value for money. Would highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area.

Situated by the maritime museum this restaurant offers good value for money and great food. There is a seating area outside or the main part inside. A wide variety of food on offer, service is good, quick and friendly.

Quirky, industrial interior - very comfortable. Semi open kitchen, so you can see the chefs working to prepare your gastronomic delight!We went on a very blustery and rainy evening and it was welcoming and warm. Played some good tunes too!We chose the sharing platter - oh my, it was huge!! Whitebait, prawns, mussels and more - it was truly divine! Quite good value too. Also worth noting is that they offer 2 cocktails for £5 or £8 on a Thursday - looked very popular!

Visited The Shed several times in the evening when on a one week holiday in November. Staff where very efficient. Service time was good and the food was excellent. My only negative comment would be when we called in just for drinks. The young lady serving gave me a pint of beer with a very large head, not really a pint measure. This was a one off so still worth 5 stars.

Group of 6 for dinner, mid-week wanting a value for money meal in a restaurant with character. The Shed is all that and we enjoyed a lovely meal with good service.

Visited the shed today ,with a group of family and friends, 11 of us in total ,it was only 11.45.The restaurant was very quiet, I asked if we could get a table for 11 , he responded by saying the only table he had was for 6 ,but could put a further 5 chairs round it ,when I explained that we wasnt prepared to sit on each others laps ,he said that he had use this table to seat 11 people before. I find this very hard to believe!!,We ended up going to Rick Stein's and must save was greeted with alot more friendlyness and professionalism.

Visited Falmouth for a couple of days. Our hotel recommended this restaurant. Great food good service. Worth a visit

We had lunch here in a very holiday period, Falmouth was absolutely stuffed! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were all lovely, friendly if you wanted to chat, respectful if you didn't. I had a burger with a fabulous welsh rarebit sauce. The meat was moist and soft and had the flavour of a steak, truly memorable. I can still remember the combination of the special sauce and the perfectly cooked burger- soo good.

I can’t say a bad thing about it. The food is too die for. The manager went out of his way to make us feel at home and comfortable. If you are ever in the area you have to go there

2 adult burgers and one kids burger. Seriously good! Decent portions and value for money- they obviously use good ingredients and have a cracking chef as it's one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. The staff were very friendly and able to accommodate us, even eiyj out massive pushchair. Changing facilities in the ladies toilet too which was good as we had a 6mo with us. Really nice place all in all and we'd go back again for sure

We came here for a late breakfast and were not disappointed. Choices ranged from a full English breakfast to waffles and vegetarian options. The food was great, service was good, although it seemed to take a while to get the drinks - but to be fair we were warned there was a delay to drinks due to a problem with the machine. Wanted to visit again for an evening meal as the menu looked really good - but time didn’t allow.

We came here for a meal while staying in falmouth, the meal was lovely and staff friendly.If I had to criticize it would be that I personally prefer to be served at the table rather than having to order from the bar, as I order from the bar on pubs.Saying that I would return here.

Just finished out meal at the shed. I had a burger my dad had the pizza and mum had the chicken. I can honestly say it was probably the best burger I have ever had! The pizza and chicken were also amazing! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone! But make sure you book!!!!

We’ve eaten here and visited just for cocktails. Food is always lovely and staff are always friendly, the cocktails are unique but nice and fairly priced. Unfortunately it’s very slow service on a Friday and Saturday evening for ordering drinks, only because this place gets so packed and there simply isn’t enough staff for the high demand. It won’t put us off eating here but we will move on earlier than we’d like to so we don’t sober up between drinks.

We went for lunch as it was my wife's birthday they were very busy but even so the they made the visit special. Food was delicious and well presented and delivered.

Me and my family visited here on our week in flamouth. The shed is a very busy place so would recommend you booking. All meals came out quickly and were of good size. My daughter had the nachos which I must say sounded delicious. When they came out the plate was massive and could feed at least two, unfortunately they are deep fried and my daughter didn't enjoy them. The only thing that the place could do with is tinted windows. It was a very hot when we visited and we were sat right near the window and due to the windows not being tinted made my dining experience a little uncomfortable.

I ate here with a colleague while passing through town on business. The Shed is situated in a row of restaurants which each offer slightly different types of cuisine. The restaurant was very busy so we had to sit outside, which worked out well because the weather was good. I chose calamari, which was served with fries and sauce, and a pint of Dortmunder to go with it. Both beer and food were enjoyable. The portion size was more than adequate. My colleague chose mussels, which he said were very good (so much so that he drank the left-over sauce). Though we both chose seafood, there were many other options including tapas and burgers. Prices were reasonable and I would certainly eat there again.

We were looking for somewhere to eat on our last night in Falmouth. After browsing a few menus online we decided on The Shed. I booked online and although we couldn't get the time we wanted we were able to get an earlier slot. (We didn't book until Friday lunchtime so was last minute and didnt matter)

First time in Falmouth with my GF. We were looking for a restaurant to go and the Shed caught our eye. Oh my gosh. The cocktails, the amazing starters. The service, the vibe. Everything was perfect. Definitely coming back to Falmouth to visit just to eat there. Thank you.

Booked prior to arrival which was a good idea. One of a chain of three restaurants next to each other. Ideal for a first meal in town good selection of dishes on the menu including tapas. Very good service.

We stopped here for dinner after exploring the Falmouth area. Most restaurant in that area opened at 6pm and we were slightly earlier than that. And this place was open, so that's why we ended up here. Food was good, service too! Good selection on the menu for adults and kids.

Visited for an evening meal. Surprised at how unfriendly and abrupt the staff were. Found the service slow as well.

We ordered four meals, but only three arrived on asking the waiter confirmed my Haddock and Chips order was made but was missed, it was quickly done and was not put on the bill all as a matter of course, we did not have to ask.

Fantastic food and service. Recommend the nachos starter, we ordered a plate to share between 5 people and it was so delicious we were left with no choice but to place a second order before our mains.

My son and I went here for cocktails and starters at the end of his second year at Falmouth uni. The bar staff were really knowledgable about different spirits and cocktails, and service was excellent. We shared two starters and both were delicious. No faults found!!

We did not book, but it is advisable as this is a fairly small restaurant, so we were lucky. Food was tasty, staff were friendly and the menue choices were good. There are tables outside which are available so long as the weather is good.

Staff: Welcoming and friendly. We sat outside and wasps were hanging around our table. The waiter saw us feeling uncomfortable and offered us wasps spray to keep them away from our food and apologised for the inconvenience. They were talkative and nice to be around.

We always eat here when we are in Falmouth,such a friendly laid back experience. The food and service are both excellent, with a good choice of freshly prepared food and extensive drinks menu, it all makes for a great night out. We had a couple of starters to share between four, chicken wings and mussels, and an array of mains, including good gluten free choices. If you want a laid back evening of good food and great atmosphere look no further, book a table here.

Popped in here for breakfast before a day at the Sea Shanty. The staff were so lovely, and the food was delicious. Had scrambled eggs on a toasted brioche bun, very tasty, and when it's served with a smile it's even better. Thank you for being so friendly

We arrived just before 6pm on a Friday evening and saw most of the tables were reserved. The staff kindly let us sit at one, however, as it was not booked until 8pm. After that the service was friendly, but a little on the slow side, and they seemed to forget our order for a jug of water at one point.

We visited here a couple of times on our recent visit to Falmouth, eating lunch bath times - once outside, once inside. The choice of food was very good, and the service was great. The mussels and the fish were particular favourites.

There is a special drinks menu on Mondays and Thursdays offering cocktails at either two for £5 or £8. The food menu has a good variety of offerings. We ordered calamari that was fresh, tender, and crispy and cassoulet that was on the specials board. It was also very tasty.

The Shed is great, so much so we visited it twice during our recent stay in Falmouth. Both nights we were there it was full, and yet the service we had was spot on. The whole evening seemed to be coordinated and choreographed by a guy in a white shirt who we assumed was in charge. He led from the front and was at the 'sharp end' all the time we were there. If all eating establishments were as well run like the Shed, Trip Advisor would not be needed.

Lovely small restaurant that's not a RIP off considering it's location. Nothing was too much trouble- they even rustled up a bacon buttie for my ravenous 6 year old even though it was 15 minutes after the breakfast menu had finished! Homemade mushroom and tarragon soup was to die for and the dressed salad on the sandwiches was delish!

First tip is don't have the chicken wing starter, it's really bad I'd guess its frozen chicken by the texture and taste, not a great start!

We stopped here for breakfast on our last day and were very impressed with everything. The staff were wonderful and our food was gorgeous! Situated in the square near the harbour this was a great find.

We stopped here on our first day visiting, decided to plump for a burger each...firstly the burgers were amazing, and the cheesy garlic bread was to die for. Secondly the location is perfect and it was surprisingly peaceful. The staff were most accommodating and friendly, very impressed we hope to get to come back soon.

A quick lunch outside to enjoy the sun before we headed off on a river trip. Service was very good and friendly. Inside looked comfortable and would come back to try and evening meal here. Lunch was just perfect sitting on the benches outside enjoying a large bowl of gorgeous prawns with bread and aioli . My partner's mussels looked and tasted great too. Would definitely make a return trip :)

There weren't a lot of people when I visited and the staff was few and far in-between. Couldn't even call for someone to get the bill because they weren't around. The food came promptly and was good. The mussels were good but it was a little on the salty side. BLT was okay as well but wouldn't really call it anything mind-blowing. Average all over.

Quite often when I'm by the sea I'll try the fish and chips. Rick Steins is just across the square offering that but they don't do what the vegetarians wanted so we went here instead. The haddock and chips were poor semi cooked chips, soft batter, and tasteless fish. Everyone else enjoyed there's though so maybe I was unlucky.

Nice food, nice service by nice staff. Well worth a visit. Have only visited mid week so no idea if it gets packed at the weekend

For cocktails after eating elsewhere. There was a good atmosphere there and a very good selection of cocktail and quality beers and lagers. The bar eased off after 10 and there was plenty of room. Nice evening.

Went here for lunch with my boyfriend. The place was great! Good atmosphere, friendly staff and the food was so tasty. 100% recommend and worth a visit if you are in the area!

I loved the ambience and food was OK chilli, but nothing special. My husband had fish and chips. The chips were lovely but he did not finish his fish which is unusual .
