Enjoy another beautiful meal here for my Birthday, free glass of Prosecco for me! Mackerel starter for me and the modules moules mariniere for hubby. We shared a huge tomahawk steak with Tripoli cooked chips for main and some yummy doughnut balls for pudding. The atmosphere was calming and the service was top notch! Will definitely be covering again. Sorry nearly forgot to take photo before I tucked into my food! Not cheap for the steak but worth every penny. There are plenty more cheaper options on the menu. Done mind paying good money for good food.

This meal was for my goddaughter’s 40th birthday as a local she had assured me it was excellent plus her favourite place to eat. We had a room downstairs as it was a party of 12. The staff were really friendly and helpful and knew in depth about the cuts of beef, which was interesting. I had a burger, with triple cooked chips. I can safely say it was the best burger I have ever had, the meat was delicious and the various toppings complimented it so well. The pot of sauce that comes as a side was delicious, I had bleu cheese it was so very good. The other diners had various cuts of beef that they all raved about and one diner had fish which she said was good but a very big portion.

Just to get this out of the way, this place is quite expensive compared to the competition in the area. Now that is done, you should eat here. Quality and selection are superb, the surroundings are pleasant (though some tables are definitely more private and better than others) and the food is top notch. Don't miss it. I love this place.

We didn't book but managed to get a table for lunch. The best steak we have had even down the tomatoe! Can't wait to come back again

Fantastic food and wine and good service. Unfortunately the music was loud and not to our taste. Would be better to have more soothing background music so we can hear each other speak.

Excellent Sunday dinner, fresh, beautifully presented, well cooked. Lovely venue and hats off to the staff because they were great old. It ask for better service . For those reading my previous reviews will gather I am not a fan of concessionary tips .. you cannot go into a restaurant without being served unless you make it self service .. so to get a tip you need to offer a service that’s goes the extra mile .. Longstore your staff did you proud ! No concessionary charge added to the bill but yes a well deserved tip left !

A great meal with lovely welcome from the staff. Fully knowledgable on the whole menu including specials. Superb steaks (we had a ribeye and the special sirloin) cooked perfectly with good sides. Deserts were great, especially being homemade. Accompanied by a delicious Malbec.

We both had steaks which were cooked perfectly and all the trimmings were delicious. Then we shared the ricotta donuts with chocolate orange sauce, which was amazing!! 🤤 it’s our go-to place in Truro for a date/dinner

Went to the Longstore on a Saturday evening. Great location on lemon street in Truro. The menu is I would say limited, due to the fact that they specialise in BIG plates of meat….its the place to go if you fancy sharing a tomahawk steak etc…however being overwhelmed by A - the size and B the price. We decided on the Longstore burger….this was served with house fries….can I just say right now that this burger is the best in Truro. Forget the hub box - sloppy and disappointing. The Thomas daniell So badly up themselves. Only downside is the run if the mill ale on offer. Not even Guinness on tap to fall back on

Went for Sunday lunch expecting a good roast as the reviews were good ,roast potatoes were hard as were parsnips, lamb was tuff but it was the gravy it was to much garlic and red wine ,I was then ill during the evening ,and all I could taste was the garlic and rosemary, I have just heard the rest of the family were the same.

Fabulous food and first class service from a very young but very professional team of chefs and front of house staff. We arrived for our wedding anniversary dinner to be greeted with a complimentary glass of Prosecco. We both went for seafood starters and mains. The starter of Scallops was perfectly cooked and the sauce was divine. I had Lemon Sole fillets Whicker my wife had whole Bream which the kitchen were happy to “behead” before it was served. The fish was perfectly cooked, beautifully seasoned and delicious. From the first greeting we were made to feel welcome and special. Our servers were delightful, courteous and attentive without being intrusive. We had a Longstore voucher that had been a family gift which was easily accepted. We will definitely return soon. Without a doubt the best roast we have ever had. The gravy is out of this world and the pork belly and beef are slow cooked to perfection. Friendly staff and swift service.

Fabulous roast. We booked for Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed. Everything was cooked to perfection and the portions were very generous. We had the roast pork belly and roasted lamb rump for a £2 supplement. Dessert for me was orange and rhubarb pavlova which was as light as a cloud, and my wife went for an espresso martini as her dessert. Service was prompt and personal. We would recommend this place wholeheartedly 10/10

It’s a nicely styled venue but the food doesn’t match the venue. I had some great Mussels there on a previous visit and the steaks are ok. But last time I was embarrassed that three of my guests didn’t eat their Pork Belly because the Salsa Verde had split so the dish was sitting in a pool of oil. Other items on the menu seem a little odd and the specials are not too well managed.

It was a last-minute decision to have lunch at The Longstore in Truro as the original restaurant we booked cancelled on us an hour before due to a problem with their gas line. Friends recommended The Longstore (with one of them giving a glowing recommendation for their burger, which my husband had) and we decided to make a reservation 30 minutes before we were led to our table. Mentioned on the reservation that it was my birthday and was given a complimentary glass of Prosecco! Service provided was good and attentive, and the food was very very good with generous portions - the chunk of Pastrami (it was that generous!) in the burger was delicious, the salsa verde as a dressing of the belly pork I ordered was very tasty (I had 2 slices of belly pork!), and my side of truffle macaroni & cheese was a revelation. My husband could not give a better recommendation - we will definitely be coming here again!"

Second time on visiting, and very disappointed, again ..squid was tough , not surprised as I could see a lot of it under a heat lamp ! Pork steak was very chewy, had to have Chips as mash had cheese in , allergic to cheese ! Shame we wasn’t informed at the time of ordering , too late once you have eaten your starter ! As we could have ordered off the normal menu, not the theatre menu! Main course was swimming in oil , very over priced..would I return again..NO .. on the plus side staff was lovely, food very disappointing.. bit of a disappointment to start our date night . Would i recommend For £75 , NO

Honestly one of the best and most memorable meals I’ve had. Hope and Charlie are absolutely credits to this restaurant. The cocktail menu is extensive and full of variety and although changing next week I’m sure will remain just as good. Beef croquettes, special scallop starter, filet steak, chowder, truffle mac- basically everything we ordered was exceptional. Will recommend highly to everyone visiting Cornwall. 11/10 but actually 12/10 for the birthday Prosecco for my partner. We will be back.

Have been to this restaurant many times and always have great food and efficient, friendly service from all the staff - 10/10 would recommend :)

Good food but disappointed by the hospitality. Had food/gravy spilled over me, obviously accidental, but would have been nice if they'd offered something off the bill/future visits given my coat/shirt are now stained. Didn't want to make a fuss as the waitress was clearly embarrassed and did apologise having seen the mess she'd made. More disappointingly her manager was around but also chose to ignore the whole situation. If you're going to pretend to be a top tier restaurant and charge those prices, customer service needs to match.

The food was excellent, I had the gnocchi and lamb ragu and it was superb. The service was also excellent.

At the entrance of the restaurant, you're welcomed with warmth and great hospitality. The ambiance is cozy and inviting. And the food? Excellent!!! Special mention to the service by Belisha and Hannah. Very attentive, they made everything even better. I highly recommend paying a visit!!!

Me and my husband have just enjoyed a fantastic meal at The Longstore. We both enjoyed a steak cooked to perfection and enjoyed some yummy cocktails. Best meal we’ve had out for a long time. We will definitely be back again.

We walked in with no booking at 7pm. The manager Katy was absolutely brilliant. She quickly found us a table and was quick to take drink orders. The food was second to none. We enjoyed a sharing steak with the more delicious sides and sauces. Great atmosphere and wonderfully attentive staff. Thank you Longstore. We’ll be back

Took my husband for dinner on his birthday. Longstore never disappoints!

Had the most delicious pre theatre meal a week ago. We were slightly late arriving due to traffic but the chef very kindly honoured the pre theatre meal offer. The food was perfectly cooked, it was hot and well presented. All the waiting staff were also very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be visiting the Longstore again and again. Thank you for a lovely dining experience.

Average , expensive uninspired menu , one of group had allergies so they dump a black pouch folder on the table showing the allergies , no inspired assistance at all .

We went for the bottomless brunch and it was well worth the cost. The bottomless bit is about the drinks which includes prosecco and beer. There is a supplement to pay for cocktails which seems fair enough. The breakfast itself is delicious. The home made hash browns and smokey beans are very good, and the roasted tomatoes are so much better than the lightly grilled ones most places serve up. Delicious sausages too. The Longstore is gorgeous inside - contemporary with wood panelling and good lighting. The staff are pretty consistent. You should try the cocktails - very sophisticated menu.

Great food. The price matches the quality I would say. But if you want 'bang for buck' avoid the seafood/fish dishes. It's expectantly lite but similarly priced to the other options. I shared some of my pork belly with my seafood obsessed partner. If we'd both paid for fish meals we would have been disappointed. If she hadn't chosen a fish deal I would have been in trouble finishing all of mine! Either a price reduction or quantity change is needed for seafood. The cocktails are excellent. *The knife in my photo is deceptive. It was larger than the usual knife and makes the dish look smaller than it was. I only marked it 4 for atmosphere as we were by the front door and it was an oddly cold day for this time in March. The staff and setting couldn't bee faulted.

We went here with all of our family including my two children for an early dinner. They had a kids menu and some colouring mays to entertain the children which was an added bonus. The steak was amazing! I had the sirloin rare which was truly delicious. We also ordered a Tomahawk to share which was perfectly cooked. Recommend getting the peppercorn sauce and the mixed green vegetables which were also perfect with the meal.

I've discovered the place by mistake but it was the best mistake ever. From outside it looked cozy, warm and chill, perfect for a date. I went in and we had the best date, with incredible delicious food and amazing cocktails. The staff was very friendly and committed, they helped with the table we wanted, made great recommendations and took care of us for the entire date. We will definitely come back a few more times.

I have been going here since it’s open and the past 3 times there’s been a issue and tonight my steak was overcooked and starters was cold and I wasn’t the only one to complain I would strongly avoid this place it has really gone down hill! Although the food was rubbish the server was incredible and couldn’t be more helpful!

The waitress was rude and didn't seem interested or helpful. Starters eventually came out (calamari) was like dried up, chewwy bits of rubber that had been battered and fried. Empty bits of batter too! The price you pay, you'd expect something edible. Once plates removed, we had complained but got nothing but a smug grin and 'okay'! Asked if we would like another drink, 2 ordered wine, they got slammed down on the table without a word. Mains took forever to come out, it wasn't overly busy! When they did we had to keep asking for more cutlery. 4 of us had cod - mine came out raw (translucent and resisted flaking). All food served on stone cold plates too. Chips were tepid - as for triple cooked, they tasted like they'd been fried in dirty oil, and as probably re dunked over and over again (more than triple cooked), were soaked in grease. Better chips in burger King! By the time I had my meal re cooked, everyone had already finished. Was really bland and a complete rip off for the money paid unlike previous times. The cod still wasn't as hot as a meal should be, and again another freezing cold plate so no wonder! Birthday cake came with no knife to cut it? Plates followed no cutlery again, followed by spoons? No forks available? All staff failed to ask how the meal was, even with complaints, probably knew it was such a shambles. No one offered to take any of the food off the bill, and to top it all off when about to leave, we received no thank you or goodbye. We left a big tip - sort your staff manners out and get a new chef! Bring back how it used to be! This was a family favourite since you opened.. Now it's absolutely awful and will not be returning.

Visited here twice a year for many years, treated it as a special occasions restaurant, the last time we visited we were a bit miffed with our experience however once again we visited thinking it's a one off as they were busy. How wrong could I be our waiter was quite frankly rude not once from the 3 courses did he ask how it was, not once did he ask if we wanted any more wine Evan after a 20 minute wait for a drinks order once we were seated. As always we share a sharing steak as it is a steakhouse priding themselves on quality. Our £120 porterhouse steak was nothing better than home cooked chuck or brazing cut, the quality of the steak should never have passed the chef. Gristle and fat and the texture of a old boot. They have obviously cut back on the quality we were previously accustomed to. That was enough for us to agree that we will not be returning. However if you do go I would highly recommend Panna Cotta dessert! Fantastic drinks selection too!

Just excellent. Expensive, but by far and away the best steak I have ever had. Booked a table for myself and my partner for our 10 year anniversary. Shared the 'Big Cuts' Porterhouse steak with Mash and Skinny fries. Service and atmophere matched the food perfectly. Our server was always present but not too over attentive. Extremely slow service food is average longstore Truro is poor and needs better management. Longstore Charlestown is faultless.

Took my son here for his 9th birthday we had the tomahawk witch was delicious. my son absaloutely loved it! Also received complimentary drinks as it was his birthday witch was a nice touch. Iv eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed. Definitely the best place to go for a steak in truro 👌

I have been to this restaurant on numerous occasions for dinner, and in my opinion this is the best place to eat in Truro. It is always busy, so there is always a good vibe. The cocktails are always spot on with an interesting and diverse cocktails specials menu too. The wine is reasonably priced and you get a good choice if you want to buy by the glass too. The steaks are always cooked to perfection. I love the fillet. The sides are delicious, best truffle Mac and cheese I have had. Service is always great and India (who works Friday and Saturday nights) is a stand out employee. My only complaint is that the lunch menu isn’t anywhere near comparative to the evening menu, which is such a shame as I would love to go for long, boozy lunches here if the menu offering was better on a Friday/Saturday, I think Truro as a whole is missing this, so it would be a good opportunity to cash in.

Food excellent but spoilt by a waiter making it his privilege to serve us, waiting for the drinks order and forgetting the sweets order, coffee long finished before a recap then they appeared. Food lovely but could of been a 100% experience but let down by poor service of a few, underlined. The rest of the staff were lovely.

I'd give this place 4.5 stars, love the atmosphere, the service is quite fast. The food is quite delicious. I had the fillet steak with baked mac and cheese and my husband had one of the specials which is katsu curry.. we both enjoyed it! The servings for the appetizers are quite small though but they're also quite enjoyable. Overall, a great experience and would gladly come back again and recommend to friends and family planning to visit Truro

We dropped in and booked for that evening, and we had a great night! Prompt and attentive service who knew the menue well. We had both steak and seafood courses and thoroughly enjoyed both. A good wine selection; we had the Italian Malbec and we were very impressed. Good ambience with a lovely light-well in the main dining area. Hats off to Casey (the Boss) for looking after a couple of Australians so well. Thoroughly recommend this venue.

A mixture of two course and three course. All good was very good flavour and well presented. Persona choice we collectively wasn’t keen on the crispy onion with the steak. Would be nice to have a red wine ju as an option but again personal choice. A very nice evening, good food and good service at an expected price.

Fantastic Sunday lunch for a party of 12. The friendly staff couldn’t do enough for us. The roast was incredible and would highly recommend. Slightly on the expensive side. But I’m happy to pay extra for a meal when it’s fantastic quality. Looking forward to our next trip there!

Roast dinner quite tasty but not hot.friemd I went with has eaten here a few times and said the meal is never very hot .Be aware a 10 percent service charge is added to the bill and you are asked to add a tip on the card machine.

I rarely write reviews, but we had such a lovely experience at The Longstore I wanted to say thank you to the chef and staff. We had the set menu, which had plenty of choice at a good price. We both had sirloin steak with warm green salad, which was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. The waitress and barman were friendly and attentive, and the wine was spot on. Thanks Longstore team, we will be back!

Very over priced!! Got sat in an old hallway tables packed in !! Food was not hot and suaces where out of a bottle!! Chips out of a bag!! Squid starter out of a bag and over cooked!! Would not go back used to be excellent!!

Stopped for lunch on 31/8 after a visit to the opticians with my wife. We had a rare done 500 gram Chateaubriand washed down by a bottle of Rioja. The steak was cooked and presented to perfection and our complements must go to the chef....

Didn’t have food but brilliant cocktails and service from the bartenders. Some fantastic unique cocktails as well as great classics. We’ll be back for food soon!

They have always left a lovely taste in our mouths and we look forward to visiting everytime we are in town.

We have been to longstore a few times now but most recently for their amazing Sunday roast! We've had many a date night here also and can deffinatly recommend the chateaubriand from the big cuts with the red wine gravy which the flavour being mouth watering! Back to the roast 🤣 I have to say I have never had beef that falls apart as effortlessly as theirs for a roast dinner! It's truly a roast to remember and for £16 for an adults and a £8 for a child's (which is not much smaller than the adults meat wise!!) It's where I want to be on a Sunday for sure! We look forward to dining here again!
