Really nice food. Great location.

Popped in just for drinks around 8.15pm. Asked the person behind the bar if we could just have a drink and were told to take a seat and they would send someone over to take our order. Waited 10 minutes , prompted bar person again, told someone would come over. Gave up after 15 minutes as had a train to catch and left. The bar wasn’t full and staff seemed to be just chatting behind the bar and not particularly interested in serving us. Not even an apology as we left. First and last visit.

Dog friendly dinner. Wonderful pizzas a cut above some of the more touristy places in St Ives. Lovely real fire. Nice looking cocktails. Great service, even offered dog treats and water bowl for the dog.

Nice food, great service and good view but window

Fantastic breakfast this week in the hub was the best by far after trying porthmeor beach, The Lounge etc hub wins by far. Will decently use and recommend again our new go to for breakfast thank you Would love to know what veggie sausages and bacon you use as best I have ever tasted

Called in for food on a rainy afternoon, warm welcome for us and our slightly soggy four legged friend, had burgers and loaded fries and can’t fault any of it, this is our second visit and would definitely go again 😁 great view as well!

Nice atmosphere and service. Service was quick and price was reasonable. Portion size was about right. Burgers are on the smaller side but are nice. Asked for burger plain but come with everything on hence the 4 star.

It is such a nice venue but there are a few things that let it down. The staff are not attentive. Twice I went up to the bar and was ignored as the staff were having conversations amongst themselves. The meals are small but nice. Be careful when paying the bill as they will add a 10% service charge onto what you’ve already paid. The food and drink is expensive enough!

EVERYTHING we had was perfect. Service was lovely, food came fast but tasted perfectly. The fish was crispy and I asked for cheesy chips which were made to perfection, they didn't simply slap on some cheddar, this was a nice selection of cheeses with perfect coverage. My coffee was lush and the pina colada was awesome. We also got some sea food tacos which were also delicious. Definitely coming back here for food and views. Thank you.

Food was really tasty in a nice location on St Ives harbour side. Someone needs to tell the staff it wouldn’t hurt to smile and be a bit friendlier though…

Very modern and vibrant establishment. Me and my partner come here for breakfast one morning, food was delicious, hot and fresh. We also came for drinks one evening and the service was quick and attentive. Strongly recommend for breakfast and also evening drinks. I did not manage to try the main menu food hoping to visit here again if we come back to St Ives.

Best burger I have ever had! This place was AMAZING! There's an overview of the sea outside and it's beautiful. The servers even tell you the Wi-Fi password. 5★

Amazing view! Sadly though after waiting 15 mins to be seated for drinks the Hub was a severe let down! The host told us we’d be 1hr for food (this was fine, we knew it was busy) we informed him we just wanted a drink, he found us a dark table under the stairs when there were so many others we could’ve taken (that clearly had only been drinking tables only). After this nobody came to take an order or welcome us and then when we got to the bar nobody said hello or took and order! We had to ask to be served! It was bank holiday weekend so the place was very busy but after being excited about our trip I wanted to move on! A smile and a hello costs nothing guys!

Wir haben fünf Burger mit Fries bestellt. Die Take away Bestellung hat super geklappt. Leider waren die Burgerbuns und auch die Burgerpatties total verbrannt und damit für uns nicht essbar. Die Fries sehr salzig. Insgesamt haben wir knapp 90£ dafür bezahlt. Bestimmt nicht nochmal!

So we went here loads on holiday and had both breakfast and dinner at different parts of the week. The location is lovely and the views out over the harbour are beautiful. The food is really nice, really tasty and the service after you order is good. Now the downsides. It's always busy and sometimes it comes across as a bit chaotic. Like you aren't sure if someone is going to come and take your order or whether to go and order at the bar. Also, the prices. As an example. We ordered 3 * Sausage sandwiches 1 * English Breakfast 1 * sweetcorn fritter 1 * Tea 1 * Black coffee 1 * Apple juice 1 * hot chocolate The sausage sandwiches while delicious were pretty basic. Just 2 sausages on a brioche but were £5.95 each. Also they do that thing where they add on 10% as a optional service charge. So really your basic sausage sandwich cost £6.54. All in all our light breakfast came to £52!! For sandwiches and a cuppa. I guess they just assume everyone is a tourist and won't be coming back. In short, a lovely place but a bit pricey.

Waited for a table for 2 for a couple mins, obviously fine. Sat at the table for more than 15 mins and no one came over to us to even take a drink order. Left after that

The Balcony bar and grill is a gorgeous setting. Unfortunately the staff ruined the experience for us after getting our drinks order pretty much on arrival we were forgotten about for well over half an hour after multiple attempts to attract attention (I'm pregnant and currently dealing with mobility issues), and watching other customers who entered the establishments food arrive to them we made the decision to pay for our drinks and leave. No apologies were offered and the only thing the did do was knock off the £1.75 service charge. If the staff had be less bothered about standing around chatting together and more on the ballaking sure all patrons were covered we would of had a very enjoyable visit as the food leaving the pass looked fantastic.

I waited 7 minutes for food. It was amazing.

The food was lovely and came quickly. Staff were polite, view was lovely. Will definitely be back.

We have been charged for drinks that we didn't have

We visit Hub every time we come to St Ives, and it never disappoints. Once again, we had a fantastic experience with quick, friendly service and amazing food that's responsibly priced. It's a great place in a great location!

Wow, what a place! Very attentive staff, even bringing out bowls of water for dogs! Service and food were amazing, I had the double chilli burger and fries! Will have that next time when I return. I love St Ives!

Amazing place for breakfast right on the sea front. Very good value for money and prices reasonable as well. We had breakfast here two mornings out of our long weekend and my partner loved the breakfast tots! the pancakes and full breakfasts were amazing as well! Would highly recommend.

Very quick service and the food was delicious 😋

They ripped me off ! Visited last night with my partner and grandson - food ok but menu quite limited . They added ten percent to my bill which I asked them to take off and promptly overcharged me despite me leaving cash as a tip. I didn’t realise what they had done until I left the restaurant and it popped up on my bank app as I paid via my phone! Disappointing!! My own fault I should have checked but it was busy and I was trying to get my grandson out the restaurant.

Monday night , live music . Fantastic guy playing guitar and singing, the whole place was buzzing! Great night.😁

Managed to get a table with a view of the wharf, food and a few beers, watching the world go by. Staff were very friendly.

REVIEW Aug 2024. Visited this evening food arrived within 5 mins which was perfect. All of the below still apply. Toilets were horrid, very pub like with some people shouting at the Olympics which is being show. Probably wouldn't return here if I'm honest but needed a quick dinner as others had an hour wait for food. REVIEW JULY 2023 **Visited tonight for dinner with my son 5 and husband. It was one of the few places that didn't have over an hour wait. There is a large steep set of steps to get inside, but the views are stunning. We were told it would be around a 20-minute wait, but we were seated before we even ordered a drink at the bar! Result. Most seats are by the window with a few in the middle. Also, most of the seats are high stools, which isn't the best with children or anyone with a bad back lol. The kids' menu is tiny with only 3 things to choose from. Chicken, burger, or fish. The chicken is breaded, so my son enjoyed it. A fruit shot will set you back £2.50! Omg, and a large coke £5! Menu is very small indeed but means they can get the food out quickly They had us in and out within an hour with a 10% service charge added to the bill. The food was nice enough but it was very rushed, and loud inside. Everything seemed frantic, and the food was average. Dirty Fries are dead easy to make. I'm not sure we would return, tbh as there is so much better on offer close by. Getting some colouring sheets and crayons and a better kids menu.

Arrived here at 11.45 was advised they weren’t serving lunch till 12. Ordered drinks which arrived quickly, tried to get the waitresses attention as the children’s menu consisted of 3 things so wondered as they were still doing breakfast would she be able to order from the breakfast menu….was told they stopped the menu 2 mins ago….fair enough I guess When our meal arrived the waitress accidentally knocked my 4 year old daughters drink over her which upset my daughter and she was crying, the waitress got the smallest bit of tissue to wipe up the drink didn’t get anything for the floor, then walked off….accidents happen fair enough but the walking off laughing with the other young girl I found extremely rude, they had upset my child and she had drink on her shorts this basically soured my mood. Couldn’t get anyone’s attention to pay the bill so went and stood by the card reader….my table was cleared wiped down and some one else sat in it while I continued to wait to pay. Great food nice place excellent views….staff are all young more interested in standing around chatting than tending to customers

We were there as a family with 2 teenagers. The view is magnificent if you get a table by the window. The service was good for us. But there was one employee who just walked around bored. The tables and floor were dirty. I don't even want to talk about the toilets. The burgers were good, as were the fries. The toasted sandwich was full of grease and was inedible. There are certainly better local ones.

the place is good and nicely designed and the staff are so nice. however the pricing of the food is so expensive, it is nice just expensive. all together me and my boyfriend spent around £45 for two meals and drinks even though we asked for seconds for drinks, i dont think it shouldve been that much extra

Beautiful restaurant with passable eggs benedict, but lovely pancakes - according to my partner. Service was really let down by being slow and uninterested staff who only seemed to lift their eyes around the room when delivering a plate. Had to near enough rugby tackle a waiter for the privilege of paying our bill. Dog friendly, and stunning views out across the bay. You can really take the time to appreciate the view whilst waiting for the staff!

Great food, great view, great atmosphere! I was down for the day with my girlfriend came in for some dinner, we were seated and got a table right by the window over looking the bay. Now we did have to flag down the staff to a few times to place out order but this slight dip in service was more than made up for by the food. We a selection of tacos and a portion of the pork loaded fries and the squid loaded fries. It was honestly some of the best for I've ever had!

Member of staff standing at doorway with elbows outstretched so difficult for customers to get in. Made no effort to move. Shown to table, was told table service. Sat for 20 minutes without order being taken even though nearly empty and staff mulling around doing nothing. Walked out. Will not return

We were greeted by someone at the top of the stairs who looked like he didn't want to be there, told us to take any empty table, which we did. Waited 10 minutes before having to find a menu myself from another table. We were eventually served by the same guy, who made a bit more effort this time. The food came out extremely quickly, not always a good thing. I had the cheeseburger with added bacon in it, one of the worst burgers I've ever had. A sloppy mess with way too much 'balcony sauce' or whatever it was called in it. I don't mind a pink burger, but this was verging on uncooked. The kids burger was cooked much better and was actually quite tasty when I finished off my son's leftovers. Complete lack of attentiveness again after we ate, eventually had to flag the waiter down to get our bill. No one seemed to be in charge, just a load of young lads chatting and doing the bare minimum to get by. Great views, nice decor, terrible service and bang average food. The fries were good though!

A star for the view and a star for serving beer. Weirdly, it's table service for outside benches that are a set of stairs away. After, later returning for food, we all regret purchasing the tacos. Unless you like tepid onion wraps, I wouldn't bother. Good for a drink with a view, not for food.

The atmosphere is always buzzing and the views are unmatched, looking right across the harbour, being a very open and bright space. The service was chatty and attentive too, always is! The food is good too, nothing unbelievable, but good! The chicken dippers are worth a go. The breakfast is solid, a little pricey to be honest, but it’s what you pay for being in St Ives I guess!

Absolutely love it here, we come to Cornwall for an extended family holiday. Every year we visit St Ives just for breakfast at the Balcony as it is amazing. The food is excellent, from the pancakes to the full english, as are the pina coladas amd Guinness!! The staff are so welcoming and attentive, really makes our holiday, thank you, and please don't ever change!! 😍😍

Great views and nice clean place. Staff couldn't be bothered. Never refilled water or asked about it or checked on us. All males in their twenties - acted immature. Not enough napkins at the table. Fish taco was good about 4.5/5 Beef taco was 3/5 Pork taco was 1/5 - tasted like cold pork fat. Clearly reheated not fresh. Fries good 5/5 Really the staff was the biggest problem. Definitely won't be back.

Lovely food and drink- and good service only down side was no baby changing so had to change my baby nappy at the table which is not great for everyone else- should have changing facilities.

Great lunch here, prices are very good when you consider its location St Ives but quality of food makes it a bargain.. Ordered mix and match tacos, these are soft mini tacos, the crispy olives are very tasty and dressing balances it perfectly. The chicken tender one is indeed tender inside whilst perfectly crisp outside and the dressing was a lovely surprise flavour. Our party also ordered the Balcony loaded fries, nice sauce, juicy pickles perfect size for lunch. Great service, they add the discretionary tip of 10% (fairly standard now) but would have given a tip anyway as server Henry, was attentive and had a great demeanour, without being pushy. Lovely decor great views...... Yeah we were impressed. Give it a visit if you are around.

Very friendly welcome, despite a late arrival WITHOUT reservation. In the end, a great table with a breathtaking view of the port (the restaurant is upstairs). For the food, it's traditional, but well made and served quickly... and with a smile!

Lovely place. Called in today for the first time, even though been to St Ives several times. Called in for a coffee and sausage bap. Very nice. Staff were friendly. Also dog friendly. We will be back ( in October)

Me and my Fiance had breakfast there this morning, found the restaurant clean and very well decorated and the view from the table was to die for. The staff was very welcoming, polite, and the food was perfect. My better half had the full English breakfast which was cooked perfectly and was more than enough. I on the other hand had the Balcony big breakfast thinking I'm a big boy but I honestly couldn't finish it all even though everything was again cooked perfectly and delicious. I would highly recommend this place to anybody. I will be going back
