Cooked a great steak, perfectly done to specification, bring your own booze which was great as food was a bit on the pricey side but overall was most definitely worth it and staff were lovely even when having to deal with loads of scousers

The best steak I’ve ever had in my life. It was birthday and we stumbled across it after the other restaurant kitchens were closed. Hillary was our waitress and she was super sweet. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the chips were so good! It’s ruined other steaks for us.

Stumbled across this gem last night. We got seated straight away. You pick what you want steak wise. Tell the chef and he cuts you one off the piece. Simple concept. What's not simple is choosing the best cuts of meat and cooking it to perfection and both of those were accomplished with ease Melt in the mouth steak, well cooked chips, onion rings etc and a purely hearty tasteful pepper sauce. Walk past and you will regret it

Came across by accident. Wow lovely meal not cheap depending on the weight of the meat. So you choose your steak, he weighs it according to what you ask for and cooks according to perfection. It comes with chips etc. Sauces extra Would I recommend, absolutely I would it was beautiful. No licensed bar but you can buy across the street and bring in which works out cheap, no corkage. We had 1 X rump with pepper sauce 1 X ribeye with pepper sauce Approx 60 but it was well worth it. Give it a try

We've always struggled finding good food in Newquay. With both our go to restaurants being closed we got a taxi to drop us in near the cinema. After a shirt walk we noticed The Bull. Popped in to have a look and was greeted by a polite lad who advised that they don't sell alcohol but we are welcome to bring our own. So we popped across the road for some drinks and was swiftly seated. On choosing your preferred steak dish you simply go to the till area and advise what size you would like and how you want it cooked. We had two of the best fillets we have ever had. The service, food and prices were so great, we just had to leave a tip. Definitely added this place to our list of good eateries in Newquay

Really fancied a steak so we popped into the Bull Restaurant. We weren’t disappointed! The place doesn’t sell alcohol but they invite you to bring your own alcohol and there is a Londis directly opposite which is fine. No charge for corkage either which I thought was extremely generous. Your steak is cut in front of you and is sold by the ounce with a minimum order of 8oz. We both chose fillet and asked for medium cooking. It was melt in the mouth perfect. The chips were well cooked, the onion rings were delicious and the peppercorn sauce was delicious. Service was good and we did leave a tip. The only slight downside was I had to move seats as the lights in the kitchen are so blinding I couldn’t see and they were irritating me but simply moving to the other side of the table sorted that! Well worth a visit if steak is your thing. I’ve paid a lot more for similar experiences!

Fabulous food one of the best steaks I have eaten. Clean relax atmosphere made us very welcome. Never been to a steak restaurant where you choose your cut of meat before you order. Will definitely recommend and will return.

Phoned up to see if we need to book a table and the owner told us not to bother because we could just turn up so we did and wasn't at all disappointed the chef even helped my lovely lady up the steps which doesn't happened alot bless him and they have an great choice of stakes available the hostess was very nice and polite and the service was 1st class the food was cooked to perfection which also came with chunky chips peas onion rings and grilled tomatoes with the steak I know some places you have to order this as extras but if ever your in Newquay center I would advise you try it out I don't think you will be disappointed.

We've just had the most amazing dinner at The Bull Steakhouse. The excellent service began when I rang to book a table. The welcome on arrival was so friendly, and second to none. We picked our own meats and they cooked them exactly as we asked for. The food was outstanding, the service was attentive without being overbearing. The staff are so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The sticky toffee pudding was to die for. We can't wait to return for our next excellent meal. Thank you to all of the staff for a fabulous evening.

My children (24 and 16) had fillet and sirloin, my partner had rump, my godmother had the chicken and I had the lamb! All of us said it was amazing. The only thing with the fillet is maybe go up a notch from what you'd normally have if you're going to have big Oz's of it. My son had 12oz and ordered medium rare and although he said it was amazing and still really good the middle of it was a bit more rare than he usually liked. But he did enjoy it all regardless. We all had 11oz/12oz steaks and the chicken is it's standard size. For what we had and how much we enjoyed it the value for money (approx £30 a head) was amazing! We will definitely be back when on our holibobs again!

We visited on Tuesday evening during our trip to Cornwall and this place exceeded our expectations. We both had the fillet steak which was amazing and cooked perfectly! Not many places cook a true blue steak but this was spot on! Adds to the experience of being able to go up and see the meat whilst they cut and weigh in front of you. You definitely get what you pay for! Would highly recommend!!

Family group of seven, mix up over booking which the staff quickly resolved. The steaks were really good, cut to size as I ordered. My young niece had a chicken breast child’s meal and said it was the best she had ever had.

Loved this concept- you pick your steak from the butcher’s counter- getting lovely advice- then the wonderful chef cooks it to your liking. You bring your own alcohol. It was amazing quality. The sides were also delicious. Simple menu. No starters. Just very good quality steak cooked to perfection. Service was lovely too.

Awful place to eat. I don’t know what these reviews are about, they must be fake. 20+ of us went here. I was charged £62 for my 1 course meal and told by the owner it was going to be the best steak I’ve had. It was one of the worst. I chose fillet, you supposedly choose your own cut, none of us got what we chose. There was so much fat on the fillet. I’ve had better £10 meals in the Harvester. Awful, especially for what it cost.

The steaks were great only problem was the blue steak which was only seared on one side. T Bone was amazing. To take to next level would to marinate the stral olive oil and Rosemary.

Enjoyed a delicious steak with fries, crunchy onion rings, peas and half a tomato. Asked for it medium well and it came out perfectly. Peas were a little overcooked (had lost that bright green colour). It's a BYOB site for those who drink alcohol - for us they had a good selection of soft drinks. The service was delivered in a friendly manner. Only downside was the loud reggae music which isn't really for us. Otherwise we had a wonderful night. P.S. this is a dog-friendly site.

many thanks to Jamie and his staff, My husband and I were in the area trying to get a Taxi to. Our Hotel, it was raining hard and being in our 80s facing an uphill 3 mile journey back was daunting. We asked Jamie where the Taxi rank was we were invited in, made feel welcome, given water whilst they arranged for a taxi to take us back. The Boardman festival made taxis very scarce!!!so WEL DONE FOR YOUR HOSPITALITY it was OUTSTANDING.

The food was really good but to charge £65 for a T Bone and £50 for a normal 80oz steak is too expensive over priced. They don't show prices on the menu they charge per oz.

Positive experience. It's really all about the meat here. Pricey but really good quality and made exactly as requested. What you pay a little more for the meat, you can save on the drinks. The place is located very close to the beach on High Street of Newquay. They are very proud of the quality of meat that is on offer there. I had a massive size steak and it was one of the best I've had ever. The meat was juicy and easy to eat, there is no alcohol served, so I had to buy wine from nearby off-licence. The price of the meat is high as the quality of the food served there, do not look further if you want to enjoy quality steak and better be hungry as the portion of sides is generous.

Went at a quite Time so it would explain the lack of atmosphere. The server was friendly, patient and knowledgeable. I would say it is expensive considering there is no table service and you have to pay extra for sauces. Also menu is misleading saying you can pay by ounce which isn't very practical and potentially having to pay for more than you wanted. I think management should listen to staff about the practicality of their menu ideas. However the steak was good and cooked well and served to us promptly.
