Windjammer Cafe & Bar in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

We just had very bad experience to get it in the Returant we booked the table for 8 pm and they got my mobile number to contact when I booked We been there for 8.22pm and the girl worked on the front tell us they can’t take in because we are late 22mins and closed the kitchen that’s very rude way to treat the customers and how can they make 8 people starters and main courses with in 30mins if they booked in for 8pm all I went for my birthday to celebrate with family to have a dinner way they staff handle the situation is very pathetic and they ruined our dinner but thanks to shed they happily take us and we had very nice meal with a good night Kindly asking your management to please never do this to any of your customers and there is no sense why they booked for 8pm if they closed for 8.30(kitchen) it was very embarrassed us way they send us out and you have lost good £200 plus sales with very bad review I would like to speak to the management about this incident And I can confirmed I been there last Thursday 6/2/25 and spend £193 with 10% staff tips to be honest food was nice and that’s the reason I bought my family for dinner Am really disappointed and if you not get back to me I will pop in to the restaurant and need to complain about your staff

First time visit, menu very American but other dishes I saw look good. My wife has the small moules marinara which she said was very tasty. I opted for cinnamon French toast with buttermilk chicken and it was very good. I’ll definitely have it again.

Popped in to get warm and have a cuppa! Nice and bustling with people enjoying the views, the food, the drinks, and I guess like us the vibe! Very accessible with a ramp, dog friendly which was good for us. Staff are lovely and friendly. Tip though.......we could hardly touch our coffee it was so hot the grind was burnt and bitter a little training here, saved by decent coffee!

I went for evening meal at the end of December 24 ,& was very disappointed from previous meals food was cold ( had to be sent back ) portions have got smaller 🤔

Hidden gem - a varied menu with something for everyone & lovely views of the marina. I highly recommend the burrito bowl 😊

Had a family dinner for 8 -it was a stormy nite in Cornwall and a good idea to be indoors and feed the soul with a delicious meal. The menu was great, plenty to choose from, share plates available, garlic bread DELICIOUS, desserts scrumptious - great location with parking close by. Worth a visit

It is a large restaurant with a classic proposal of burgers and chips as well as fish dishes such as mussels and seafood plate (which was not available). All good. Right portions, normal price. You can eat inside or outside overlooking the canal.

Fantastic brunch and lunch! Each dish was delicious and the service was excellent! Would highly recommend the burnt ends and the Moules Mariniere!

Lovely brunch location. Fabulous food with a great view, will definitely go back when in Falmouth again. The only slight drawback was the length of time we waited for food and drink, but they were busy and we weren’t in a rush.

TLDR can't say we'll be back in a hurry and if you have kids of 3 and up you may need to budget for the adult portions. * Lovely, friendly, welcoming staff * Offered kids colouring/activity sheets * Food delicious * Possibly the only time we've ever been out somewhere and our kids have still been hungry after their meal. * The kids' "pancakes" is one pancake with topping of choice. It's more than half the price of the adult portion. The kids' menu says it's for up to 12 years. For reference, our toddler demolished this portion and then ate about the same again from my meal. * We tried raising our experience with the staff. By way of resolution we were offered the opportunity to buy an additional 3 pancakes for £12.

This place was very busy considering it was nearly 2p, which I always think is a good sign. The scallops were amazing but the salad was a letdown. The dressing or whatever it was, was unpleasantly sour. I don't know what it was so it's hard to describe but when you order a side salad I didn't expect it to be tainted with something so weird. Please serve it plain, or at least ask the customer if they want to try something unusual.

Had a delicious and fantastically presented captains breakfast with waffles for the lad, and it was all lovely. There was a great buzz about the place too on a Sunday morning with lots of folk and families all enjoying a cuppa or a bite to eat. Staff were great too, very attentive and on it, will defo return in future.

Great service, good food and coffee - and the bonus of a pretty decent outside view on a surprisingly warm and sunny November breakfast visit. Bacon ciabatta was really good - surprisingly so. The cinnamon French toast was a little bit too sweet for my taste, but otherwise no complaints .

We visit Falmouth from East Sussex on a regular basis and always ensure we drop in here for a meal or two during our stay. In October we had dinner on a couple of occasions and have to say everything was excellent. The cleanliness of the venue, staff welcome, food & drink superb plus the menu is excellent. Windjammer in Falmouth goes from strength to strength and it is one of the best dinning establishments you can visit, be it breakfast lunch, dinner or a snack. On both our visits, we were served by Ellie who was brilliant and has excellent customer interaction; a real ambassador for the restaurant. We are visiting again in December and have already booked a dinner reservation. See you then :-)

Nice, friendly staff, and early evening, it was quiet. The reserved tables were obviously for later diners. The food is okay (Windjammer burger) albeit very smokey.

We had breakfast here yesterday, it was absolutely yummy and I’m a harsh critic so for me to say that is a real compliment. In fact the standard breakfast was actually too much for my son in law to finish and he has an extremely hearty appetite, I’ve never seen him leave something on his plate in about 10 years! My granddaughter (6) polished off her huge pancake with gusto. All ingredients were top quality.

Nice place, love the lights and feel. Food is great for price point. Cocktails are very reasonable.

We have been there many times it's always friendly and you get served very quickly. The staff go out of they to make you feel welcome.

Great place for a quiet drink and to watch the boats come and go. We sat on the balcony overlooking the port, an afternoon with the last of the September sun. They do have heaters out there as well for the evenings. Just a nice place to be with good service

Disappointed after hearing and reading good reviews. Had to wait a long time for our drinks, and they arrived the same time as our food. I thought that the menu was limited and not good value for money. In effect we paid £130 for 4 meals and 4 drinks. I wouldn't go again.

The food was great, we had the Windjammer burgers, jummy! Cocktails were really good, and the staff was extremely friendly. We were in Falmouth for 4 days and ate here twice. If we were to return one day, this would be our OG 😊

I always come here for the windjammer brunch, with pancakes and fried eggs. The seats on the balcony overlooking the harbour are the best spots to sit rain or shine.

Captains breakfast more like Admiral buffet, nice touches on the sausage and hog pudding. All very good quality and plentiful

I’m 51 and have had a few breakfasts in my time and therefore feel qualified to say the Windjammer Brunch was the best restaurant breakfast I have had (full stop) Everything was perfect- well done

Got the captain's breakfast, was absolutely amazing, huge portions and friendly staff and good atmosphere and view, hogs pudding was also great!

Lovely little cafe, food and staff were excellent. Great with kids and large groups we were 8 persons. Seafood platter is beautiful as are the mussels! The kids loved the Oreo Donut sandwich! Fresh and Friendly!

Visited 08.24, really good establishment, very friendly staff with great customer service and dog friendly, we had a pint of Korev lager, ice cream and a cream tea, all good quality, we sat on the balcony overlooking the harbour, will visit again 😀

Hands down some of the best chicken tenders I’ve ever had. Rest of the food was also good but the tenders with the Cajun mayo was fantastic. Staff were really nice, and were accommodating of us being an indecisive yet needy group.

Visited a few times over three days, all at different times of day and were always met with friendly staff and good service. We had a lovely bottle of wine on the terrace at the back, overlooking the harbour. We also had a fantastic breakfast. I branched out and went for the huevos rancheros and was very happy that I did.

We had our wedding meal with our families here. The food was delicious as usual. The staff were amazing serving 20 people all at the same time. They used our decorations to make it look beautiful and it certainly did. Couldn't thank them enough for all of their hard work. Highly recommend The Windjammer 😁😍

Fist time we went was excellent. Second time we came took an eternity to be given a menu, for drinks order to be taken, for drinks to be brought to us - we could see them on the bar waiting and I was very tempted to go and get them myself but my teenagers persuaded me not to- and ages to get our food order taken. Quite a wait for good to be brought out. Third time we went was very much a repeat of the previous time, sadly, as the food is very nice. We were seated, had drinks order taken (eventually) and the drinks delivered to our table before we were told it’s a 40 min wait on food. By which time we were all getting hangry and it was lunchtime rush everywhere do we just stayed put. Unfortunately, having given them a second chance to be quicker at serving and it being the same pace, we won’t be going back. Staff are very friendly but too few of them. Food is lovely just takes too long to get it. Views are gorgeous. If you have plenty of time on your side, give it a try. If not, avoid.

I went to The Winjammer four times in one week , once either a friend for lunch once for evening meal. Once for breakfast and once.for coffee, staff ate friendly food is good and lovely views across the water The place is kept very clean and I am looking forward on coming back in 2025. Chose to eat at this restaurant on our final night in Cornwall/England before heading back to the States. A wonderful meal, complemented by a beautiful harbor view on a lovely summer evening in July. What a way to close out a once-in-a-lifetime vacation!

We have had a lovely dinner with nice view! I want to say huge thanks to the manager. She is a star! I left my vanity bag in the restaurant on my way back to Exeter. I realised it when I arrived in Exeter and it was late night. Obviously there is no one at the restaurant. I have my valuable things in it. But the manager found my details and texted me back that they keep it safe❤️ Would recommend 10/10!

We ate in the Windjammer twice on our recent holiday of Cornwall and would highly recommend the food, drink & service. The Windjammer burger meal was delicious and a large portion with beef, pulled pork, southern fried chicken and bacon The cocktails I am told were very good and the draught beer was on point Worth a visit

After many a time of walking past this wonderful cafe, we at last went in to try it and were not disappointed. We only wanted something light, so my friends ordered a bacon and sausage ciabatta and I ordered the small portion of mussels with a side dish of fries. All the food was absolutely delicious and good portion sizes. The cafe has great views overlooking the harbour and if you want, you can sit on stools at a bar outside. A good choice of alcohol and soft drinks. The staff were efficient and friendly. Thank you so much Freya for being a thoughtful and amiable server. Will definitely return!

Never been to this place all the time coming to Falmouth. Took a look and was very surprised, great service and food. Place was nice, simple but interesting decor, good views of harbour.

Came for lunch - service was good and food was very nice. Good number of options on the menu. Only criticism is that the burgers (6oz) come slightly pink in the middle, not an issue if you're expecting it and don't mind, but I didn't see anything on the menu about it nor asked if I'd like it that way by the waiter. Minor thing is that the burger buns were a bit crumbley so made it a rather messy eat!

We had a lovely lunch! My boyfriend had the chicken burger and I had the pulled brisket tacos which were amazing! I will definitely be having these again! My boyfriend enjoyed his burger and said the chips were great! The staff were very friendly and we were served quickly!

Had a yummy burger that had awesome brisket on it. We came back the next night just for the brisket but after the busy sea shanty weekend it wasn’t available. Had chicken wings instead and they were so good we ordered another lot. Good beer, great service, lovely outdoor seating options and good music. If we lived in Falmouth this would be our local.

We were there for the Sea Shanty, and the food was excellent.

Ordered the chicken thighs, they were horrible, dry, burnt and tough pretty inedible and at £17 not cheap. I was shocked anyone would serve such poor quality food. Other food we ordered was ok fish and chips, burger and breakfast average. The atmosphere was good and service friendly. If I came again I would just have a drink overlooking the harbour and not bother with the food.

Sat on the balcony watching the sunset over the harbour... Had the loaded fries with chilli beef 😋 but why wasn't I warned it was a massive serving .... I was so stuffed ...

Food not great. Girl who served us was friendly. Breakfast was ok but the half a chicken was awful- strange flavour on it that covered the chips too. No one came to see if anything was ok so didn’t have an opportunity to let them know. When we mentioned it when paying they didn’t seem to care and said ‘well let them know’ (whoever they are?). The chicken didn’t get eaten. They were pretty stingy with the extra sad sausage- £2 extra for the smallest bit. The waitress said that’s how it comes when I questioned it. Would maybe go back for drinks as nice views out the back but food was overpriced for what it is and I would avoid the chicken.

Really amazing service here from Lauren: she immediately welcomed us as we came through the door, took a booking, gave us a lovely table with a good view and bought 2 water bowls for our dogs: she could not have been more attentive.

service can be a bit slow on busy days but that’s no fault of the servers, the food is delicious and the sea front views are amazing.

Awful! This is the third (and last) visit. Mid Saturday morning, only six other people there. We waited 17 minutes for tea/coffees. When we finally got our brunch orders they were luke warm to say the least. My friend has poached egg on avo, which was so strongly flavoured with chilli it was inedible. Never Again!

We had a booking last evening 2nd April 24. The staff where very friendly, however when we asked if we could have a desert no the kitchen closed. Very disappointing and that's 4 deserts you didn't sell Having been given our main courses the next time anyone came over was to say last orders at the bar . 9pm ?? Disappointing service and not the service we have had in the past. We left and when for drinks elsewhere feeling we probably will not return.

Enjoyed my first visit to Windjammer cafe and have to say my food was outstanding, lovely staff as well. Thought service was a bit slow, but it was all worth it as my ribs were fantastic,the smell and taste were amazing. I will be back.

We went to the Windjammer last Summer and it was great. The food was nice and it was an all round amazing place to dine. The staff were amazing and even offered some water and treats for our dog.

Quicky seated by friendly staff. Great views over the harbour. Menu has a good selection, and some different dishes to the normal standard. Had the Windjammer Brunch with pancakes. It was delicious, high quality food, and filled me up nicely.

We went to Falmouth for a day trip. We called in to Windjammer for lunch. I am allergic to garlic and mushrooms, having explained this the staff they went out of their way to check everything to make sure I could eat safely. The rest of our group really enjoyed their burgers and fish and chips too. We will definitely be going back. Thank you Windjammer team.

Recently went to this restaurant after being a few times before, i ordered ribs as previously i ordered a burger and wanted something different. I ordered the bbq ribs (assuming they would be tender, saucy and fall off the bone) but no, they was the complete opposite, they was the most dry, unflavoured and non meaty ribs i have ever had. id say there was more bone than actual meat. the staff was also very quiet and they seemed to be under staffed. I would not recommend this restaurant as a whole as it also had a weird atmosphere all together.

I Ordered the chicken burger Disappointing! The brioche bun was burnt The bacon, potato rosti and cheese were all stuck together and rock hard Chips were underwhelming The chicken and slaw was nice enough but nothing special I can't fault the portion as it was very generous but I ended up leaving alot as it just wasn't very nice. Staff were friendly and the restaurant was very clean. I've eaten twice before and the food was much better on those previous visits
