Last night we went here, it was dad's first time but I've been before. We had olives and artichokes for starters. For mains we had pork shoulder steak with patatas bravas and slaw. The pork was the most delicious I've tasted as it was seasoned in a secret recipe. For dessert we had tarta de Santiago de Compostela which was an almond cake from Galicia.

Lovely food. Lovely people. Good prices. 10/10. Good vibe. Always return.

The food was amazing. Staff were very accommodating to a large group of us, providing near enough everything on the menu for us to try. The food was all excellent. The only downside for me which didn’t warrant reducing a star, was the seating(stalls) are high and uncomfortable but I appreciate this is to allow more room for people in a small space.

Absolutely delicious tacos, super fresh fish and salad. Can’t wait to go back again. Staff are super friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I really like the relaxed atmosphere, it reminds me of eating out in Spain or Mexico. If you like tequila and mezcal, there is an exceptional selection. I also had a really nice organic Kombucha.

We love visiting this friendly restaurant when we come to Cornwall. Great fresh food, delicious wines and great service. Relaxed atmosphere & great value. Highly recommend.

Absolutely disgraceful service, rude owner and very sub par food. I wouldn't even take my worst enemy here. Eating roadkill would be a more pleasurable experience than having to be around the rude staff and owner.

All round strange, unprofessional and extremely disappointing experience for our child free late birthday meal for my husband. We are local, love our tapas and have wanted to try here for quite some time so it was much anticipated. Food was way below average. Overpriced bland and not authentic. Also note that they will bring you one dish at a time (personally I like all my tapas dishes together) •pork belly bites - essentially a tiny bowl of dry pork scratchings doused it some kind of curry powder. •patatas bravas - inedible, burnt but soggy and bland. Salsa brava was also very bland. •garlic mushrooms were tasty and cooked nicely. •meatballs - again these were extremely bland no seasoning in the meatball itself which was a kind of wet consistency and bland sauce. •chorizo which was served to our table I didn’t get a chance to try due to chef/owner coming over to our table to confront us. After waiting staff came over to ask if everything was ok with our food I awkwardly explained what we didn’t like and why and was followed with the chef/owner coming to our table with a very confrontational attitude towards us and said that if we don’t like her food that maybe we should just call it quits here. I explained that I haven’t even tried the one chorizo dish yet but she didn’t care and basically said that this is her food and wasn’t prepared to cook the further dishes we had ordered and essentially wanted us to leave. Never experienced anything like this in my 34 years of life when eating out or travelling. Lady was very Kurt over the phone to book the table to begin with. Also note it’s a text a mobile number to book. Upon arrival wasn’t a very warm welcome and felt a little awkward, until the girl that sat us down at our console table side by side, was lovely and friendly to us (didn’t catch her name) I did feel bad for the waiting staff as another table didn’t seem particularly happy and we did hear some kind of awkward words from the chef/owner to the guests at the table. Just so much awkwardness and unprofessional chef/owner who sent my anxiety into overdrive All in all a terrible experience.

We were very much looking forward to visiting Harry’s as we’ve been meaning to for some time. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. From when we arrived, there was a very awkward atmosphere, I was cold so had to wear my coat. One particular member of staff who served us was quite passive aggressive with any of our request requests and rolled her eyes. The food was ok but came out very slowly even though there was adequate staff serving. We didn’t find the staff very friendly or welcoming. When we asked for post meal coffee we were told there wasn’t any and when questioned we were told “obviously not eaten tapas before”. Such a shame as we are locals and wanted a nice place to eat.

We had a really great evening and thoroughly recommend Harrys Bodega. We tried a number of the tapas dishes, all very tasty. The pork pibil was a highlight, beaten only by the freshly made churros. Truly exceptional!

Lovely food. Had nachos, potato dish, squid and tapas. Recommend Shiraz wine. Service good and fresh ingredients. As small restaurant I would advise booking in advance

Harrys Bodega is a Tapas bar. They appear to have a decent selection behind the bar. Would have liked to have tried the wine but stuck to the one draught lager they stocked instead. Staff did say they normally have 2 draught beers. We were initially the only couple in there at 7pm on a Wednesday evening. I was relieved when more people arrived to help the atmosphere. The seating is on wooden seats and benches. The menu is on chalk boards on the wall. I personally found this a little confusing and would have preferred something written down with a little explanation of the dishes on offer. The food was good with decent size plates for tapas. The prices are reasonable too. I suggest you book since it isn't very big and it closes at 9pm most nights from what I could see.

We decided to go due to photos and reviews. Unfortunately the photos on the reviews are not even close to the reality. We ordered 1 x Chorizo and Prawn Burrito (Chorizo overpowered the whole taste) 1 x Blackened Steak Burrito Meat is tough really hard to chew and the sauce is overwhelming you can't taste anything else. Burritos with No Rice so really it's a very basic Wrap. 1 x 5pcs chicken wings covered with hot sauce and dip on the side 1 x Nachos is cold and plain cost 3.50 to add meat decided not to. No salsa and proper grated cheese instead they used awful cheap cheese sauce. For the quality, quantity and price is definitely not worth it. We paid less for a top quality food last night, it's a shame we didn't go back there.

My family and I have eaten here a few times now and every time we've been impressed. The food is great, the service fantastic and the prices very reasonable. I'm not sure how people are saying its expensive, they must not have eaten out in Cornwall recently. Our only problem was picking what to order. So many good choices that we wanted to order them all. Highly recommended and look forward to returning next time we are down in Hayle.

Brilliant food in a cosy little setting. The service was very good too. It's a very relaxed experience, but the food is superb and cooked fresh right in front of you with love, care and attention. We wanted to visit for a second time on our last night in Cornwall but the timings just didn't work out for us. It says a lot when we were all gutted we couldn't visit again! Sorry we didn't take any photos.

Spectacular tapas. Best meal of our holiday. I only wish they were open more days so we could have gone twice. I felt the pricing was very fair.

We had a really lovely experience here last night! The staff were friendly, attentive and couldn't do any more for us. The food was some of the best we have ever had, hot, fresh, tasty (the pork belly bites and they were amazing!)I would really recommend this place if you're in the area 😊☀️

We had a lovely meal and experience at Harry’s Tapas. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. We had a selection of tapas (mostly fish) and it all tasted amazing. Such a lovely intimate atmosphere. We will be back for more … especially their passionfruit martinis!

We went in as it was on our way back from a trip. We looked at the menue and ordered a veg burrito which was nice and chicken tacos which were a bit dry but overall nice. The only problem was that the food was extremely overpriced for a restaurant on the side of the road. But since it seemed fresh we did not mind and the portion size was pretty good. What we did mind actually was that we mindlessly ordered fries, it wasn’t written on the menu but they said they had fries. It was a very small portion of fries which was okay until the bill came and we realised the fries were 8.5 pounds! For a small plate of fries! Plus they got mayo or something like that with it and charged an extra 1 pound for it! It wasn’t even that great and we didn’t even ask for it. So just be cautious going in. The food is great but i think the fact that they don’t have a printed menu and can price anything however they want is problematic.

Cosy and atmospheric, food was amazing as was the service. Even great for the kids. Would definitely go again to try the rest of the menu.

Had the garlic mushrooms and the hake filet with mussels. Absolutely delicious--best meal I had in Cornwall. Great, friendly service in a cute, welcoming little space. Would recommend to anyone staying in Hayle.

Harry's is an amazing little place. 2nd time here and again quality food, lovely staff and cool music. The Hake was outstanding. It takes a very skilled chef to cook a chunky piece of fish that perfectly. Make sure you book. Highly recommended!

Great tapas, great wine, great Mexican food and great service! We enjoyed finding out about the Californian inspiration behind Harry’s Bodega, and exploring the produce on sale after our meal. We will definitely be back.

Fabulous food & service with a great Khruangbin soundtrack. (The chilled funk tunes complemented the food & drink perfectly ... & that is a very rare thing in other eateries!) But please ignore me ... I want to be able to get a seat again soon! Feel very lucky to have this local to me; so we can walk there & have something off the short but brilliant wine list too.

We are just visiting the town for a short period and found Harry's Bodega to be a great place for a few drinks a bite to eat.

Great food in a nice venue. The tapas menu is excellent and perfectly cooked. Everyone is trying hard and this place deserves a chance. It’s not big so try to book but they care and want to do really well, which they certainly are … do go and enjoy …

What a find! Can't think why I've not been before...though it is a bit hard to find out when it's open.... It's a tiny venue and I imagine booking is essential but the good range of tapas (some main courses also available) was delicious - far better than many I've had. Service was prompt, attentive and cheerful from 2 charming young people We were slightly surprised to find that coffee and dessert wasn't available - but otherwise we had a very enjoyable evening in this quirky venue To be recommended and, as a local, I will certainly return!

Fantastic range of tapas food, and delicious flavours. Portions are generous and would recommend asking the staff one quantities to order. Very friendly and receptive service - always accommodating, along with offering great recommendations on food and drink. Atmosphere was chilled and relaxed making it a very welcoming environment to dine in.

The best place to eat in Cornwall! We live locally and came to Harry’s Bodega for a birthday meal, the food was some of the best we have ever tasted! The restaurant has a relaxed, friendly vibe where you can forget all your troubles and indulge in the great hospitality and delicious food. We will be returning :)

We visited while staying the in area . Very tasty tapas restaurant, wine was good, having looked at the website prior to our visit we were looking forward to a few more local fish and seafood options on the menu, but it's obvious the menu changes daily so we were just unlucky! The food was fantastic and the venue is beautiful. Harry's Bodega is a gem in the heart of a lively seaside town.

We had an assortment of tapas plates and a very acceptable bottle of wine. Service was quick and efficient and offered a different choice of food from others in the area. Would definitely eat there again.

Okish food but delivered one dish at a time so awkward eating when others hungry. Bit soggy and not like tapas have had before. Expensive for what it was although flavours were good and people were nice.Not much better than could produce at home.

Fantastic food 👌👌, 7 of us went and every plate was empty and everyone was happy. Small venue so recommend booking in advance.

A good place to get tapas from when you’re in Hayle- though it’s probably better to go and eat (our first attempt at take away was successful, but second and third wasn’t for some reason)

the prices compared to the portion is a joke. For almost £ 5 we got one small taco. I have no idea why on the menu it’s information about Tacos- it’s plural.

Absolutely fabulous little restaurant. Glad we got in early, as its so popular, they were turning people away (I'll book in advance in future). Food delicious (and big portions), staff friendly, chilled music. Just perfect. Will definitely be back.

Amazing fresh monkfish tacos , great sunset views !

I have been using Harry’s occasionally during lockdown for takeaways. Firstly, the communication could not be better or more efficient, the food is quite exceptional, the availability and timings of the collection are first class, the cost is very reasonable indeed, and all of this delivered with a friendly smile. Top Class!

What an incredible jewel in the Cornish Crown. Especially great service during lockdown, exceptional tasting food, very helpful and efficient service that is delivered with a smile, something sadly often lacking in hospitality nowadays. I cannot recommend Harry’s highly enough! 5 Stars!

This small friendly bistro cafe is truly a great find amongst very average turgid eaterie offerings in tourist cash cow land. Authentic Los Angelos Americanised Mexican offerings which means genuinely interesting make up that actually work. You can come here for the trendy decor & views but I enjoyed my food & I had to stop to think when I last did so much. Absolutely not to be missed if you're in the area. Easy enough free parking outside.

The grown up sister restaurant of Black Lobster, everything made from scratch and you can tell. Super tasty Tacos, I went for fish (hake) tacos and very good. I travel to Austin in Texas a lot which is Taco central and these were as good as the best I've had...also the naughty fries after a day of surfing or walking also very good, actually there's enough salad bits to make you feel a bit better lol

Tried to book a table for myself & wife for a Fri evening (giving 4 days notice), by leaving a message on the answerphone. Didn't get any response/confirmation, giving me not a great first impression.

Whilst on holiday in Hayle we decided to try Harry's Bodega. Twice I phoned and left a message requesting a table for 2. No joy there I'm afraid, I'm still waiting for a reply.

Great food perhaps a little pricey £11 for one burrito no sides though can't knock the quality

As the title says this place really is a hidden gem. Limited space so book to avoid disappointment. The Food is all fresh and they use locally grown produce. Staff were friendly but the food was defo the highlight. It’s small simple menu was cooked to perfection real fresh honest food.

Leider haben wir keine guten Erfahrungen gemacht. Wir waren gegen 19.30 Uhr da und es war bis auf einen Tisch leer. Wir gaben unsere Bestellung auf und nach einer viertel Stunde sagte man uns, dass die Zutaten zu unserem bestellten Essen nicht mehr vorrätig sind. Das passierte drei mal... Wir nahmen dann eine andere Vorspeise und warteten auf unser Hauptessen.... und zwar noch einmal eine dreiviertel Stunde. Selbst das nachbestellte Bier kam erst 15 Minuten später. Es war kein kompliziertes Essen. Die Zutaten waren alle fertig und mussten nur für 5 Minuten in den Ofen. Bei Nachfrage, warum wir über eine Stunde auf's Essen warten müssen und andere, später gekommene Gäste schon fertig sind mit Essen, kam die Antwort: Wir hätten doch schon unsere Vorspeise... Das ist eine Unverschämtheit! Leider hatten unsere Kinder Hunger und die Heimfahrt ging noch lange, sonst hätten wir das Essen storniert. Qualitativ war es leider auch kein Hochgenuss. Absolut NICHT empfehlenswert!

We have enjoyed many meals at Harry's. The food is always freshly made, ie not a "fast-food" shop, so we enjoyed a huge bowl of hot chicken wings to start while waiting for our superb Burritos, washed down with a craft ale or two. The atmosphere is light during the day and cosy/romantic when the sun goes down across the estuary. It gets busy very quickly, so booking in advance is the best option.

Really nice food and good service but you need to book as quite small. We also ate at their sister location, Black Lobster which was equally excellent so would recommend both.

Well this really is a hidden gem by the Hayle harbour. Super quaint and authentic feeling with a small number of tables (9 in total). Everything is home made, even the tortillas and the freshness makes an amazing difference. I had the California burrito after a days surfing and it was probably the best meal I have ever had. Filled with steak, peppers, onions and fries (which were amazing!!) and topped with freshly made salsa, guacamole and sour cream and a green rice on the side it was truly the meal of champions. The kids burger was also delicious, a homemade patty with yummy burger and lastly the tacos were incredible with the most amazing tasting slaw. Highly recommend, truly a highlight of our holiday!!

I phoned and booked a table for Friday night for myself and my bbf over from America. They didn’t come back to me which I thought was a bit strange and when we arrived the place was closed! A note on the door said they were at the black lobster but we’d just walked past where that was suppose to be and hadn’t seen it so we gave up! Very disappointing!

Visited today on the off chance, excellent food and relaxed vibe. Had chicken wings in an amazing sauce followed by delicious fish Taco's. Without a doubt the best food in Hayle , keep up the good work!!

Lovely home cooked food with unique flavour. Our first time trying Cali-Mex and the owner was very friendly and accommodative of our preferences. The dishes were sumptuously good and service was delightful. Nice cozy little place with very relaxed atmosphere, thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Owners have two restaurants and it's pot luck if this place is even open. We visited on one such rare occasion for coffee and cake, which were cold and stale.

Staff friendly and helpful (nothing was too much trouble). Food was presented well and was vibrant and fresh. Surrounding was relaxed informal, good dinning experience. Menus was varied, which cater for my little ones, and reasonably priced. Would recommend.

Came in between Christmas and new years. Excellent meal and great service. The owner was super friendly and made us feel very welcome. The food was spot on, the california burrito was top! highly recommended will definitely be back when in the area!

Once again another superb meal from Felicia and her team. Wine flowed well, food was perfect as per usual and customer service excellent .

We were looking forward to trying Harry's, but turned out to be a lengthy night. The owner needs to not take bookings if she can't get food out quicker than 1 hour. The kitchen area looks too small to turn out food quicker when the restaurant is busy. Were going to leave after nearly an hour of waiting, but food then turned up. Nothing special, so won't be returning.

Burger and Burrito both excellent. Friendly, upbeat waitress and excellent cooking and banter from the owner/chef. Very casual dining which suits us well and the portions are generous to say the least. I recommend booking to be on the safe side, you will enjoy the food and vibe in equal measure. Hope to visit again next year.

My husband and myself ate here tonight. The food was second to none fabulous but we waited over 50 minutes for our food and there was no one before us. When we asked for our bill I decided to complain about the wait as I thought they would appreciate the feedback. I was told they had run out of beef and had to go to asda. They said they had told us which unfortunately was not the case. Anyway I was told to pay what I thought the meal was worth and as the food was good I paid a good amount. Only after I had paid did I found out from my husband that the owner did not want to discuss the problem or apologise. Lovely food but dreadful owner who does not like honest feedback when it is clearly justified.

Credit to the chef and the chef only. Food was absolutely delicious but service let us down so much. Such a shame

I have had Mexican food before and was expecting something very special for the high ratings seen for Harry's on various websites. I feel let down!

Popped in for lunch recently with my daughter. The food was fabulous and the lady who I assume was the owner was really lovely. Highly recommended for lunch 😀

Went for dinner with family, excellent service from the front of house although the food was very slow. It all arrived at different times, the chips arrived after we had all finished our meals so the nice young man knocked some money off the total bill. To our astonishment the chef then called out to everybody in the restaurant for attention, and then stated, “that stupid American cow left me on my own tonight and that’s why it’s all gone wrong”. Very strange. He looked drunk. Probably won’t return unfortunately.

Twice we have been here on a Wednesday at opening time as advertised on line and in the cafe and both times it has been deserted. The two visits were some months apart. The first time we put it down to being late in the season. This time we were at the door at 11.08am when the published opening time is 11.00am. The place was locked and deserted. The message is simple, if you wish to visit this cafe, which has good reviews, do not trust the published opening times. Our advice is to check with the cafe before you visit and not to rely on published opening times.

Harry's is a quirky small place on the harbour front of Hayle near St Ives. We have been here twice, with the first as a Specials Evening and then again for their standard menu. The food was fantastic and the service was great. Book because it doesn't have many covers.

We had a lovely meal with all the food exceeding our expectations! The service was great, polite and friendly, and quite efficient for the size of our group. For a small restaurant they catered extremely well, although I would strongly recommend booking for even two.

I took my husband here for dinner on Saturday 5th May. Its a very small place so you need to book.

This is a small restaurant and the night we went it was under staffed. Having said that we were advised from the start that the meals would be a wait and looked after in between. Three of us had Mexican meals and my son had a cheeseburger and fries. All the meals were really good and worth the wait. The waiter was friendly and efficient and we had a lovely evening. The place is only open between 6-9pm for the evening meal - I don't know the daytime hours. You probably need to book to ensure you get a table.

Authentic Cali-Mex food produced by the Californian owner in the centre of Hayle. Great food and atmosphere - recommended.
