We’ve just left the Duchy after waiting 15 mins for someone to take our order. We waited prior to that for our buzzer to go off. Never known the service this bad. The staff were non apologetic for the wait and add insult to injury other people were served before us!! We just wanted coffee and cake.

Great little venue for light lunch and a beer! Mainly outdoor seating at present, but plenty of umbrellas and indoor area for shade or keeping dry. Easy access from water using hire boats, canoes etc for visitors - worth a visit, but don’t expect ‘fine dining’ choices - good basic stuff! Rob and Sue + staff very welcoming. Lots of boat activity from dinghies to small cargo ships to watch.

Probably the worst pub food I’ve ever eaten in my life, and I’ve had a few! Apparently, the chef had to leave at short notice, which should have sounded alarm bells, but, being typically British, we didn’t want to get up and leave having already said we wanted food! The lady behind the bar was a customer, who had only popped in for a drink, but she had a streaming cold, literally dripping from her nose, and we didn’t see her washing her hands once! We ordered two lasagnas and two cottage pies, which were probably microwave heated Tesco value meals, with tinned peas and cold chips! The only positive being, that we ended up laughing at just how terrible this experience was! In comparison, we ate at The Globe on our first night in Lostwithiel, then at Sunny Spice (Indian) the following night, both being delicious in comparison…

Had a couple of pints and Gin & tonics in the bar as did my friends so the fellow who says they do not sell alcohol is a twit . Food is good. Property is spotless staff attentive. Plenty of parking, leave your reg number at reception.

Great greeting, led to lovely seats to wait and wait and wait. No, they were not busy. The waitress who presumably was allocated to our area took three customers ahead of us who came in after. The last straw was when she looked at us then went and leaned on the counter before chatting to another customer. It was obvious we had not been attended to, our menus were clearly visible on the tables, they were removed when orders were taken. What should have been a lovely treat, prices were high, became a disappointing waste of time. We walked out. There are many tea shops around, better value and with fab friendly service

Such a shame but this was really disappointing. Pluses first, the waitress was lovely and my burger was very nice. We were told there would be a 50 min wait for food - which seems excessive as there weren’t many tables occupied. The other two dishes were very disappointing- the celeriac steak was the smallest main dish I have ever seen (and for £19!) - even the waitress was embarrassed and brought some extra chips. The catch of the day was ling which was nice enough, but the sauce was fairly dull and gloopy, and £24 for a small dish with no accompaniments. In all we had three main dishes and one starter between us, and with drinks the bill was £90, which I’m afraid we felt was poor value for money.

Fabulous traditional no nonsense pub food in a fabulous traditional pub in the lovely market town of Lostwithiel. Traditional bar giving a very welcoming feel from both from the staff and regulars. Definitely worth the detour from the A30 on the way home to the M5. Will be back

We had the calamari and one of the specials each, food was lovely and the pub had a great atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our rescue dogs who tend to be a bit more nervous loved the Russel and felt right at home. Service was quick too.

Stopped in the stores for a flat white and brownie and both very nice. Very helpful server who also gave us directions to Tivoli Fountain and gardens. Beautiful, peaceful waterside village with picnic table and FREE parking. That's a first for Cornwall.

Amazing Sunday lunch. The gravy was the best I’ve ever tasted and generous quantity. Lovely deserts too. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. A special mention for Amy who was very efficient. Look forward to returning for pie and chips and hopefully some more of that gravy!
