Really lovely meal in this welcoming pub. Relatively short menu but a good choice, locally sourced & excellently prepared food. Friendy and welcoming, would definitely recommend.

Put together a brilliant kitchen and front of house team and this is what you get. Puts all those pretentious Cornish 'famous' chef restaurants to shame. Excellent, well priced menu that delivers what it promises.

I reserved a table at The Globe to celebrate my husband’s birthday while we were in Lostwithiel. The menu was good and the food was excellent. We enjoyed the evening so much that we returned again during our week in Lostwithiel. The Globe has something special. They like people. The welcome is warm and friendly. The chef is magic. Ingredients turned into gourmet dishes fit for a London top restaurant. Don’t tell anyone though, we want to enjoy David’s food again, because we loved Lostwithiel so much and The Globe that we are returning in April. I will be reserving a table. I ate here on a week night whilst staying locally. It felt like a nice place when I walked in. Helpful staff, comfortable seating, friendly locals and good beer. I was impressed at the quality of the menu and was not disappointed with my locally caught pollack. Well cooked (not overcooked) and served with a thoughtful base of smokey beans, it was excellent.

We went as a group of 7 on Sunday evening and had amazing food beautifully presented with an interesting twist. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and we'll definitely be back!

Don't be fooled by the outside appearance. It's an old inn. This restaurant was recommended by Ladyvale Barn cottage rental and it exceeded our expectations. We have had the pleasure this evening of having sampled some of the finest cuisine using the best of local produce you could get. We hadn't made a reservation but would recommend you do, we visited slightly outside the main tourist time so we're very lucky to get in at the beginning of service. From the welcome at the bar, to the explanation of the menu we were impressed. My wife is a seafood and I'm red meat so apologies to vegans etc. Will, our host looked after us so well, friendly but not intrusive chat kept the experience special for us. We've never tasted such amazing mussels as a starter, locally sourced of course. How do Cornish restaurants do such amazing chips, I'll just leave that there.

Quality food using local ingredients, this pub offers far more than basic pub grub and the chef really knows his business.

Ignore the exterior, we arrived at pub at 7pm we hadn't booked, the landlord who was very helpful told us they were very busy but if we waited he would get us a table would be around 8.15, we told him we were happy to wait, we were so pleased we did, the food was amazing. I had the burger and it was by far the best one I have had in a long time, my husband had the pasta which he was pleased with. Make sure you book a table before hand you don't want to miss out.

In two minds about leaving a review for the Globe Inn. Because as soon as Dave, the chef, is discovered, he’ll be snaffled by some top London restaurant and we’ll have lost an absolute gem. Lovely friendly staff, cosy atmosphere and exceptional food.

Having visited Lostwithiel for many years how have we never eaten here before! Don’t be fooled by the exterior, this pub is a delight, warm & welcoming and the chef certainly knows what he’s doing. The burgers are exceptional and the Atlantic washes it down very nicely.

Lovely relaxing restaurant, prompt service, a little pricey but the food was definitely worth it. We had the mussels and the chicken Thai green curry. Both extremely tasty. We would return here again for a treat .

Just overpriced, even the side dishes are expensive to add onto your main course. Waiting staff were helpful and polite. I guess the chef/ owner for doing the upmost best to reduce good food, but I think the management need to look at their pricing.

We ate here a couple of times while staying nearby. We enjoyed our meal so much the first time that we came back another evening! It's always so nice to see a good choice of gluten-free choices on the menu, so I was very pleased with the selection on offer here. I had the trio of fish one evening which was really tasty. The staff were friendly which added to our pleasant dining experience.

Very good quality pub food, without being too fancy (big portions!) I had scallops to start which were excellent followed by duck breast (cooked just right for me: a bit pink, not red!) with pink peppercorn sauce, broccoli and rosti potatoes. My wife had rib eye steak with chips, mushroom and tomato. Neither of us had any complaints. Good range on the menu especially fish specials. Service was excellent- the restaurant was full and the waiting staff were so efficient and pleasant and kept everyone informed of waiting times.

We had been out all day and had not had the opportunity to book ahead for that evening. Called in on off chance and they were happy to sit us in the bar for a meal. We both had the burger which was very tasty and certainly filled the spot. Good service as well. A very popular pub as getting full by time we left.

The staff and service are efficient backed by the meal we had which i have to say was amazing, I reckon the best burger I have ever had and they adapted my Wife’s thai green curry dish

Lovely pub with very pretty restaurant. Excellent service, good beer and cider. Shared a starter of crusty macaroni balls which were delicious, but although my husband's burger was excellent, my lasagne was too salty and as rich as licking tomato puree straight from the tube, especially when paired with a focaccia slice with had practically inedible salty olives on top. We've just come back from Crete and love all olives, but my husband screwed up his face when he ate these. The ingredients were obviously all excellent quality, but I left with a slightly queasy feeling and have been thirsty all night. Lots to like about this pub, but it's not cheap and maybe I was just unlucky.
