Stopped in the stores for a flat white and brownie and both very nice. Very helpful server who also gave us directions to Tivoli Fountain and gardens. Beautiful, peaceful waterside village with picnic table and FREE parking. That's a first for Cornwall.

Considering this is the only shop in the village serving local residents and many visitors it is very poorly stocked. the very barest of essentials, some of which are out of date and very over priced. Such a shame when it could be a very busy and offer so much more.

This lovely little village shop is amazing. It’s the perfect place to sit and have lunch, they have indoor seating and outdoor table and chairs, or if you wanted to sit by the river they would bring your food and drinks down there. The staff are lovely they made me and my family feel very welcome, they were bubbly, happy and chatty genuine nice people. We had a lovely experience and we recommend visiting !😁

We had breakfast here yesterday 28th December, we have all been really ill with an awful stomach bug, the sausages tasted sour, when we complained we were told it’s the taste of the special spices, it turn out we now have a bad case of food poisoning. Please be warned this has ruined our time away and the new year family party. We have reported them to Cornwall council health dept.

Fascinating place, not a huge amount in the vicinity of the stones, but full of history with a bridge the goes back to Elizabethan times plus the stepping stones that allow the river to be crossed at low tide. Well worth a stop but be warned we cane via a VERY narrow lane - even by Cornwall standards, maybe 6 inches wider than our car. Some interesting facts I learned afterwards: The village was central to the silver industry in Cornwall They had their own version of the Tivoli Gardens (now defunct) The Wind in the Willows book is thought to be based on Lerryn Verdict - reccomended

I was out with a motorbike group and stopped here to grab a bite for lunch , Although we were very muddy the lady welcomed us with a smile and described all on offer for lunch I went with a large pasty which was up there with the best and I know my Pasties :-), Followed by a really nice yogurt flapjack slice , Really is a cracking little shop run by a happy go lucky lady :-)

We parked in the car park and stopped at the shop for supplies before our walk to St Winnow. The Cornish Pastie was amazing. It was big, hot, full of veg and big chunks of beef and great value for money. We also got caramel shortbread, which I’ve had better. After our walk, we stopped for a toastie and a cream tea for two. The toastie was tasty but was expensive at £5.50 with no garnish or crisps. The cream tea was nice but the scones were over cooked and a bit dry. The fruit filled, yogurt topped and caramel topped flapjack were much better! The view made up for it but we’ll stick to the pastie next time.

Excessive pricing, extremely poor service/attitude. I suggest avoiding would be the best option. I suspect some local’s would find this little shop a convenience. I concur with many other reviews, I would use the term “convenience” in another sense.

Stopped at this nice looking little spot in lovely Lerryn late for some lunch. All they had was sandwiches. Fair enough..until we paid. £11 for two simple sandwiches, no garnish or anything special just two slices of white bread and one ham, one egg. I’ve paid less for full baguettes in expensive lunch breaks. Appalling rip off .

We had a great walk from Lerryn to St Winnow & back on a lovely day weather wise. Last day of our holiday we were really taken by a little snack bar in St Winnow , but it was too early for my lunch. I had seen the cafe in Lerryn & picnic benches on the Green & I saved myself for a sandwich there. What a shame I did. The order was one tuna sandwich , 2 sparkling waters. Cost £10 which struck me as overpriced but I was hungry! Then we waited & waited & I commented to my husband that it would need to be a good tuna sandwich given time taken . After about half an hour a lad came out with a toastie & one water. We sent him back for the other drink but I should really have asked what the order was at that stage. I had asked for a sandwich , no spread. It was hard too tell what the ingredient was deside mayo but I believe it was chicken . It was only eaten because it was now 6 hours since breakfast, oh & the water was barely chilled. We returned the plates & I told the woman how I had been given heavily disguised chicken not tuna. She apologised with her mouth but her face was saying something else. I actually couldn’t rule out that it had been done deliberately. Husband pointed out that maybe it was not so surprising that the shop was closing .

2 customers in the shop, and 3 staff, but still could not manage to serve more than 1 person at a time. Polite request for service met with outright refusal to help. Second attempt met with reluctant action accompanied by hostile argumentative BS excuses , which in the end were just that - excuses.

We went to Lerryn to walk along the the river, and on the way back we stopped off at the village shop, not a great experience, we met a moody lady behind the counter with a smile turned upside down we wanted to post a card and order some food, very unhelpful and a bearded portly man who was just as moody sprawled all over the counter, we decided to eat at the ship inn next door, where we bumped in to the portly man again, the food at the ship Inn was average but a much better atmosphere than we received at the shop. Maybe caught them on an off day.

Staying locally as we were you are pretty self sufficient between the Ship Inn & the Village Store. A lovely little shop run by Michelle & Nick although Nick spends most of his time between his farm & The Ship..lucky chap! Not being the most healthier of eaters my wife introduced me to the delights of the most amazing sour dough loaves bought at the shop..a real must if you are staying locally but best pre ordered as they do sell out quickly.

This shop and cafe (I didn't see any indoor seating, but lots outside by the river) is beautifully sited and well-stocked. It is also a post office. They serve barrista coffee (so it takes ages), cream teas and delicious ice cream. On a Sunday the car park was full and there was a lot of jostling for spaces, but the next day (a Monday) it was fine. There was a range of Cornish produce to buy for souvenirs.

Festive Afternoon Tea this afternoon was very disappointing. It is clearly a stop gap to keep income trickling in between Sunday lunch and evening dinner service. The biggest issue is with the service, very inattentive, unconcerned staff not in the slightest bit interested in providing a professional level of attention. The afternoon tea was acceptable but not exactly delightful let alone memorable or to be recommend to others. Delightful setting with the hotel beautifully appointed and well decorated for Christmas, just a pity the staff were not switched on at all. Management at fault and it would appear no investment made in staff training.

Really good full Cornish. Generous portions. The bacon was griddled so tasty and not greasy, Harvey's sausages are ways peppery perfect. Would've like a hot plate and homemade beans rather than tinned. Will defo go back. The decaf coffee was dreadful though!
