Best Western Fowey Valley Restaurant in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Had a couple of pints and Gin & tonics in the bar as did my friends so the fellow who says they do not sell alcohol is a twit . Food is good. Property is spotless staff attentive. Plenty of parking, leave your reg number at reception.

This hotel has no bar.. there is no alcohol available due to religious reasons.. if you fancy a drink with your meal then don’t come here..

Whilst the double room was spotlessly clean, the towels fluffy and huge, hairdryer, coffee making facilities, iron/ironing board all available in the room the bed let it down. It was not comfortable and was too firm. The website is out of date as we were unaware prior to arrival or at the time of booking that because the hotel was undergoing a change of ownership there was no alcohol allowed to be served. This would have had a bearing on our decision to book this hotel as we were looking forward to kicking back in the bar prior to dinner with a couple of Gin & Tonics - sadly unavailable. We had left Surrey around 6am as we were travelling to a funeral at 1pm in Lostwithiel so whilst the hotel was very accommodating in allowing us to check in early so we could freshen up and change there was little or no ambience in the bar/snug areas when we returned late afternoon prior to sitting down to dinner

Dog friendly rooms and eating with your dog. Rooms very good.Food excellent. We go here regularly. We would thoroughly recommend.

This is the third time my wife and I have stopped at the Fowey Valley Hotel whilst travelling to or from Cornwall. It is in a handy location for sight seeing and close to the coast for trips out. The car parking is good. The rooms have always been spotless and inviting. The bar and restaurant are welcoming. Staff are excellent, friendly and respectful. Good Covid precautions at all times.

the restaurant is a real asset to the hotel as the food is so good. there were no starters on the menu but that didnt bother us as we had more room for pud!

During our stay at the Fowey Valley, we had two evening meals, including the excellent value ‘posh fish and chips’ (including Prosecco) and utterly delicious - and very filling - crab linguine. At a quiet time of year, and during the pandemic, producing excellent meals is no mean feat, and there was no hint of reduced quality or service. We’d recommend the restaurant, and will return.
