10/10 would recommend for an easy, cozy stay in Fowey. Location is super nice with spectacular views over the harbor and off the trodden touristy paths of the towns center (catch the ferry every 10mins to get over the river mouth). The inn makes you feel like diving into old times in the best way, combining the charm and vibes of the historic building with comfort. Rooms are modern, cozy with a special eye for cute well-placed details and Archie the Dog is the main man. Food was spectacular (try the OFI burger with coleslaw and gigantic fries, no regrets) and service was super friendly - there even is the owner’s distillery in case you feel like tasting something other than a pint. Thanks and see you again!

What brings out the best in restaurants and hospitality? When you have to work for it! And boy does the old ferry inn work for it. While the inns in fowey got their nice little harbour to shelter them, this place has to earn your patronage and your trip over on the ferry by bringing its A-game. Once you take that ride - you will be rewarded by an assortment of home-made comfort food stables with that extra twist, hommade rum - and comfortable rooms. The icing on the cake is that you get to sit on their spectacular deck with the evening sun in your face while the sun has already set on fowey.

This is the worst pub in Cornwall room are so expensive no atmosphere no locals even use the pub the owners are absent and don’t seem to care about customers just making money it used to be a wonderful pub and you could get food all day up until 9.00 but you have to eat early and this doesn’t work when you want to go out and explore the beautiful countryside it’s closed most of the week especially to non residents which is a shame as the locals used to be the heart of the pub and we have spent many hours in this pub over the years but we will definitely not be returning they have run it to the ground so sad the staff are lovely and have been there for years they deserve more than what this owner has done to this once lovely Cornish pub

This place is a real hidden gem. The food is fab, pretty close to Michelin star and the whole place really comfortable and cosy. Attention to detail everywhere with lovely welcoming touches in my room. I had the best nights sleep ever! Friendly and welcoming owner and staff really make for a wonderful break. Fowey is only a short ferry hop away, but to be honest the fabulous service and fabulous views made it an easy decision to enjoy a cocktail or two on the sunny terrace instead :) Top tip: Book now and book ahead before the secret gets out!

What can I say other than what a wonderful weekend we have just spent at The Old Ferry Inn Bodinnick. We had a suite which was huge and had a great view of the estuary. Paul and his staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Their Peppercorn gin was fabulous- I bought a bottle to take home. The food was delicious. This was my second stay at The Old Ferry Inn, and it was just as unforgettable as the first. The views over the harbour are absolutely stunning, perfect for relaxing with a sundowner on the terrace. The food is genuinely Michelin Star worthy, with beautifully presented dishes full of flavour. The rooms are thoughtfully designed with lovely touches throughout, and the attention to detail is clear in every aspect of the stay. Paul, the owner, couldn’t have been more welcoming. He and the team create such a warm, friendly atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. A huge bonus for me is how dog-friendly the inn is with beds, bowls, and a warm welcome for furry guests too! We've been visiting fowey and bodinnick on family holidays for the last 30 years and always visit the Old Ferry Inn. Staff, food and drinks are always great and a real friendly atmosphere. This year's visit was for a special occasion and when we made the dinner reservation 4 months ago we were asked if there was anything special they could do for us. A brief mention of lemon meringue pie was made at the time and on the night, low and behold, a delicious homemade lemon meringue pie appeared. This was a really nice touch and made the night extra special. Thanks Paul and all the team. We'll definitely come back.

We booked a two night stay at the Old Ferry Inn at a high nightly rate. We arrived to find the building wrapped in scaffolding with building work happening on the neighbouring property and noisy roofing work happening at the Old Ferry. No mention was made on the website or at booking of any works. On checking in we were told work would cease at 4 pm that day for the weekend. A limited version of the truth as on Saturday morning at 8 am scaffolders arrived to reposition the scaffolding accompanied by loud dance from 11 am - a little at odds with tranquility implied by the pictures on the website. A bit more honesty with customers and maybe a small discount on a £225 a night room might go a little way to mitigate against the understandable need to make repairs. The staff at The Old Ferry Inn were very welcoming and friendly. The room comfortable, however, the overall experience fell well short of the promise and left us feeling a little exploited

We hadn’t visited the Old Ferry Inn for over 18 months following a dreadful experience. We used to go at least once a fortnight and then the new owners recruited an executive chef who to put it politely was a clueless idiot. We took a party of 6 and told them that it was our favourite restaurant in the area. The food was atrocious, a poorly constructed expensive and inappropriate menu. And to cap it all the Chef and his senior team were aloof and rude. We were therefore absolutely delighted to revisit and find that it is back to its excellent best. The old team are back in charge and the Chef is fabulous. As others have said on here Sunday Lunch is delicious and will prevent you needing to eat for the rest of the week. The beers are good (but a decent dark ale wouldn’t go amiss) and both lunch and dinner menus are extensive sensibly priced and delicious (whatever you order) So very very happy to have our local back!

This is currently a traditional pub serving pub food such as fish and chips , ham egg and chips etc. There is no evidence of the gastro-pub food that can be seen in the photos on trip advisor. The menu on the website is accurate. The food was freshly cooked and well prepared. Be aware that the small plates may not be viewed as a starter as such. My main meal was served before I had a chance to finish my whitebait. We asked for a dry white wine at the bar, but what we were served was not this at all. However on pointing this out it was replaced by something more appropriate. Whilst there is a lovely view , the upper dining room appears to be for hotel guests only,so from our table at the back of the eating area we could not see it. The website opens with information about the accommodation and not the food. This appears to reflect the focus of this establishment at the moment.

We ate here on our last night in Cornwall, following a recommendation and we weren’t disappointed. The bay window table had brilliant views over the Bodinnick-Fowey ferry and the river. The food was absolutely delicious but after our starters and mains we didn’t have room for dessert so can’t comment on those. A highlight of the meal was certainly the Fowey Mussels, the special that evening. The service was excellent and the chef came to speak to us and give us some recommendations.

We were staying nearby at Triggamore Farm Cottages and booked a late Sunday lunch. Great location and good outside terraces with views of the Fowey Estuary from Bodinnick to Polruan. Good pub food and plenty of it !

Popped in for a drink but stayed on to eat. New menu is excellent value - lots of home cooked options. Would recommend the fish and chips and the ham egg and chips. Good drinks choice too.

The restaurant hours are not ideal for non-residents, because the last ferry back to Fowey is at about 8pm, but we'd heard about the Old Ferry Inn and the reviews looked pretty good. So we skipped lunch and got to the Inn for about 5.30....

Really good food, in winter, you want to get here for opening and in the summer it is better to go later in the morning for Breakfast or after 1pm for lunch. Nice theming and friendly staff. Would recommend but be prepared for ling waits in the summer

Didn't eat here, so can't comment. Drinks are really, really expensive. Almost £10 for only 2 drinks. It's a nice place to visit, I sometimes go on a Tuesday evening, during the Summer, as their is Entertainment there.
