Went to Bath for the day and very hungry when we arrived around 1 o’clock. Found this little cafe near the Abbey and although it had only outside seating left we decided to eat there. The ‘courtyard’ was under cover and we were sat under a heater so it was fine, we ordered English breakfast (served all day) and coffee. When the breakfasts came they had, I egg, 1 sausage, half a tomato, chopped mushrooms, around 4 slices of streaky bacon and a slice of toast. At just under £14 one of the most expensive I’ve eaten, maybe because of being in Bath but I’ve had better breakfast at a much lower price elsewhere, that said the service was ok and it was clean. I did note they add a service charge which is a pet hate of mine!

Just a beautiful spot to go for a meal, it's full of charm and history. However parking is absolutely horrendous. I had chicken it was small portion, but good, gravy could have more flavour and was thin. The broccoli was undercooked and hard. The other person had the beef, which looked tough and was. The serving staff were friendly, attentive and quick.... However, one of them looked like she had been pressed gang into working. Obviously no one has to smile, but if your welcoming people it helps. As much as having staff ask if the meal is good, it's better to make sure that the food is cooked well so that being asked becomes less like of a thing... This might sound like I'm saying the food isn't good, it's so much better that other Sunday roast dinners locally. Well worth a visit.

A really good find !! A local pub with great atmosphere and a really friendly and helpful attitude from the staff and locals alike ! The food was great ..... A good selection of ales and I was assured the wine was good too. I would recommend a visit 👍

Myself, wife and daughter visited here for breakfast whilst visiting Bath for the day. First impressions were great with the guy seating us being extremely friendly and helpful. I ordered the large cooked breakfast for around £15, my wife the pancakes and our daughter an omelette. Drinks and food were very quickly delivered to the table and we all tucked in. Visually they all looked good, with the exception of the single hash brown on my plate which was the smallest I’d ever seen. It’s not often that food that enters my mouth leaves instantly, but the hash brown broke all speed records and i think that record will be a long standing one. Tepid in temp at best, with the texture not even as good as fried cardboard, it was obvious that this hash brown had accidentally slipped into the chefs pocket prior to his around the world trip 3 years ago and then accidentally made its way onto my plate on his return. Not always one to complain I grabbed a quick fork full of beans to try and rid my mouth of the experience, only to find them colder than the hash brown. When you can’t microwave beans competently maybe the kitchen isn’t the best place for you ? With the server only next door to us I had a discreet word, received a genuine apology and a few minutes later was presented with a fresh ramekin of beans and 2 more hashbrowns. It was instantly obvious that the beans had been microwaved way beyond what was needed as they’d bubbled and spat the sauce over their container. Exercising some caution in picking the ramekin up I realised I’d been correct in my assessment. The beens were beyond scalding hot. I’m not sure if this was a spiteful act that quite frankly could have been dangerous, or to give them the benefit of my doubt maybe the microwaver needs better training? The 2 hashbrowns were as equally as bad as the first and were left. My wife and daughter’s breakfasts were both nice. I’d never return here which was a shame as I think it has the potential to serve some consistently good food.

What a wonderful place. Great food in a really cosy atmosphere with excellent staff all round. We would recommend this restaurant most highly for all those visiting Bath. If you look inside you may think it is full but it has two floors of great experience and well worth a visit.

We had a great meal here. The cocktails to start were fantastic and the food element was excellent. We opted for the tasting menu. Rarely do we choose tasting menus due to the amount of food you get but this was just right course wise. We knew we were going to eat well by the quality of the canapes. Absolutely delicious beef tartare, a lovely piece of halibut and a piece of local lamb concluded the savoury element. Desserts definitely disappoint nor did the exquisite petit four. All the staff were great. Friendly but not too friendly and very efficient. The wine list is good but it does take some studying to find the bottles that represent good value for money. The decor might not be quite to our taste and the banquette I sat on was just a little low for the height of the table. Other than that I thoroughly recommend dining here. Well done team !

I shared tge vegetable flan with salad with my mum, prices very high! The flan was bland, pastry soggy and the green salad was practically inedible, not fresh and covered in a nasty dressing to disguise the fact!!The potati salad was powdery with a cheap mayonnaise and I'm not sure what the winter coleslaw was!!! Really disappointing, overpriced and no care given to the food at all. A very amateur concern.
