Amarone Ristorante in Bath and North East Somerset

Superb meal, very welcoming and friendly. Service was spot on. Menu was delicious - and the waiters were knowledgeable about the dishes. We're only in town for 3 nights, but we might well return "because we can". A lovely, atmospheric, genuine Italian restaurant.

Atmosphere was great with Italian music setting the tone. But the food was phenomenal! The Frito Misti starter was delicious but the prawn linguine was spot on! 100% recommend!

We have eaten many times at this restaurant and it is always a joy. The food is fantastic and the surroundings are very smart, a proper Italian restaurant that we love.

Came to dinner with my parents and we were served by Rafael and Iniall who were both incredible! The food and wine was just to die for. Will definitely come back when I or we are next in Bath.

Chose it because it was close to the Theatre. So glad we went. The whole experience was fantastic. Fresh ingredients and generous portions! Would not hesitate to go again.🥰

Next time I visit Bath, I will come straight here to eat. The food was delicious, Carbonara cooked just as it should be & the Ragu was superb. The prosecco was pure nectar, so I had to have a second 😉 The Hazelnut Gelato & Raspberry Sorbetto were the perfect end to a perfect meal. I loved this restaurant. The pictures on the walls were of my idols (Elvis, Sinatra, Grace Kelly, Jean Simmons amongst them) & the music was just delightful. All the staff were exceptional, especially Niall, who really looked after us. This vintage gal had the best time & will be back for sure! ❤️

Nice Italian restaurant located in central area. Good choice across the menu, service levels and pleasant atmosphere. Portion size for the Ravioli main very small though.

Was there about a month ago , ordered a stake and it was all way too salty , and also a good bottle of wine to discover it has bits in it , was about £60+ .. staff is great though and atmosphere very nice .. bad evening for me and one of my kids .. rest of the food I’d say was perfect

We had the most wonderful lunch here for my 50th birthday last week. We were attended to by Marian, who could not do enough for us. We even had complimentary limencello and ice cream for the birthday girl! The food was amazing, particularly the fish stew which had the the most generous serving of fish. The wine was also delicious. All in all, I would highly recommend and we will be back on our next trip to Bath. Thank you x

20 pounds for a ravioli that was little better than an M&S ready meal and about enough to feed a small toddler. Very disappointing.

Had dinner on a quiet Monday night. I loved the decor, vibe music of the place but can easily understand it may turn people off. 2 mains(no pasta) and 2 salads that took some time but you could see and taste they were made to order then. Everything had a good taste. Only draw back is 100% wine focused and only a beer to select from. The staff was wonderful and very respectful and responsive.

Having dined around the world for many years I would say the food was reasonable. The portion size ok , the taste reasonable without being exceptional. The disappointing factor is from the moment we entered we felt unwanted and ignored. Especially from whom I assume is the manager or owner. We could , on several occasions ,see him almost looking at us with destain . Sometimes laughing with serving staff whilst looking directly at us. I found this curious as I watched him tend to other customers , ( he had no interaction with us except on entry and departure). He had no idea of how to properly pour a glass of wine from a bottle. A technique I learnt at a young age. On paying , on what I would consider a reasonably high account for the evening, I assume at least half a smile at receiving payment may be in order. But to no avail, hardly even a word or look of recognition. To me it shows a complete lack of respect for the customer . He demonstrated he knows little of what class or service is.

Simply fabulous meal, the best Italian cuisine we have eaten in a very long time. Fast and attentive service, clean surroundings and a generally amiable atmosphere. Can't rate it highly enough; strongly recommended.

Reservamos una cena previa al teatro ya que el restaurante se encuentra junto al teatro Royal. Llegamos a las 6. 00 , se sentaron rápidamente y mi esposa tomó una copa de ‘champán’ italiano no Prosecco que era excelente. Amarone es mi vino favorito, así que solo tenía que pedir una copa, luego otra. Compartimos un Frito Misto que era demasiado grande para terminar como entrada, pero excelente con alcachofas fritas. La red era pasta de jabalí y una lasaña y luego tiramisú para terminar. Mia era muy atento y sin duda volveremos de nuevo.

Good Italian Restaurant in Bath.

Lovely food cooked with passion and not just dished out. Staff were welcoming and attentive. Place had a welcoming and modern theme.

I had the beef ravioli with mushrooms and it was sensational! The waiter was also an absolute legend.

Try the spaghetti and lobster tail w/seafood bisque or the eggplant ravioli. They were fantastic!!! The tiramisu for dessert incredible!!

Been twice over the last few years. Was lovely so we went for the third time here last night. Oh dear. Saturday night and the restaurant was half empty. That was the first clue. They had to be reminded to bring the wine. Charmless sommelier arrived and tipped it in without asking if we wanted to try it. Starters were tepid not hot and landed on the table like we were in a truckstop café. Bang average. Mains were OK but the steak was pretty good and was the saving grace of the evening. I asked for medium rare. It was cooked rare but was nice and tender. The service was as described, poor and the food, variable. Two other well rated Italian rated restaurants in Bath which we'll try next time. Sorry guys but the rule is that if you want people's hard earned cash you have to get it right. Train the newbies and move the ones along who have been there too long or at least try and remotivate them.

Nothing special except the price and whilst you are at it, add another 10% service charge too. The presentation was poor. Ravioli with a ladle of sauce dolloped over the Ravioli. Limited vegetarian options. A big airy well decorated restaurant. Nonetheless, it is not a candles and crisp white tablecloth-type venue.

In Bath for a 90th birthday lunch, so wandered around the City before finding somewhere for dinner. Came across Amarone and despite not having a booking they managed to squeeze my wife and I in. So glad they did, was the best meal we've had in ages! Great food and attentive staff. The Penne Pasta dish, Seafood Risotto and Tiramisu in particular were amazing. 100% would recommend this Italian.

Worst service ever had… 3/4 restaurant been empty but because we had a kid with us, they suggest us to sit outside… that’s a joke !

Simply amazing. Starting from the service, very attentive and professional, all the staff made us feel like we were in Italy. The food was very good, we had Tagliere of charcuterie, Tomino piemontese, and truffle beef carpaccio, as a main we had risotto truffle and porcini, and sous vide duck with balsamic honey sauce mash potatos and kale wicht was the best dish of the dinner. All of this with a bottle of amazing Barbaresco 2018. We'll be back for sure, thank you!

Popped in for lunch and we advised them we were very very short on time, and they were amazing. We ordered food first so they could get started and then sorted drinks and it was so quick and it ALL tasted amazing. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I went yesterday evening for dinner. We were just walking around and found this lovely restaurant. The location is very nice, clean and warm. Staff members are amazing, polite and helpful. The service is amazing, very quick and food is just delicious. We're Italian and we were pleasantly surprised to finally find authentic Italian cuisine!! I would really recommend this place to whom wish to try the REAL Italian food!!

We tried this place because of the high ratings. The truffle risotto is quite bland, but the other pasta dishes are ok. Nothing special on the food or the place.

We ordered 2 main dishes : Truffle Rissotto @ £22.00. The portion was so small barely even a starter size. Very , very disappointing. The other main was a seafood risotto, larger portion@ £18.00 , not the best and ended up with a dodgy stomach. Will not be going there again.

Amazing seafood platter and steak! We had great atmosphere looking out onto the street and it was a very authentic Italian restaurant. Service was also great.

Their restaurant is small but has a lovely atmosphere. The staff and friendly and very professional. The food is out of this world! Not a massive menu but it allows them to absolutely ail the food! The food was sublime, blown away and lovely wine from a wide choice. Will return in again!

Amerone is everything you dream of when yearning for an Italian restaurant. Great food, beautifully presented by the professional and friendly front of house staff. My Caprese was just as it should be and the Sea Bass delicious. Perfect crispy skin. Our only regret was that we didn’t leave enough room to try one of the awesome looking desserts that were coming out of the kitchen.

Ribeye stake was super tasty. Comfortable seating area and very attractive atmosphere of a small but pretty restaurant.

I am impressed by the taste and atmosphere. It was my first time in England. Where the service and meals are above the high standard. Thank you ! I WILL ALWAYS BE BACK.

Recently moved to the area and this was the first Italian we tried. Unfortunately we were really disappointed with the quality of the food here… the pasta wasn’t even fresh.

To start when you arrive the decor is really nice, both inside and outside. The waitress was lovely and the starter and main was great, I recommend the lobster pasta which was delicious. The peach panna cotta dessert didn’t taste of peach and the set cream was grainy and pretty unpleasant. The strangest thing about the evening was the manager (?) who was keen to rush people through their meals and out of the door, keeping in mind we were eating on a Tuesday and the restaurant was half empty. He was flitting between the tables and we’d hardly finished dessert when he came with the bill. He also opened the window which made the restaurant drastically cooler and had the desired effect of the table closest to the window vacating immediately. The waitress didn’t rush us paying though which I thank her for. Overall I gave 4/5 as the starter, main and atmosphere was good but ruined at the end by the dessert and manager rushing everyone.

This is a terrible restaurant. The steak tartar we ordered was condimented horribly and had tasteless meat which they tried to cover by putting caramelized onions and some kind of mayo on the side. In terms of mains we ordered the tartufo risotto and the carbonara. The tartufo risotto was indistinguishable from plain white rice, this is not an exageration, so I sent it back. The carbonara was ok but by no means any better than the one you can cook at home having watched a 5 minute youtube video. I am struggling to understand how this restaurant has such a high rating. I dont know if these are fake reviews or if they are written by tourists who are happy to eat tasteless food or if we simply ordered the worst things on the menu. But for a supposed italian restaurant these basic meals should be made to at least a good standard. If you come to dine here and order starters and mains expect to spend at least 30 pounds per person, without including drinks, on tasteless food.

The best meal since arriving in England. Great food. Great wine and exceptional service. Will definitely be back next time we are in England. Would visit Bath again just to eat at Amarone.

I booked well in advance for a meal at 5.45pm prior to a visit to the theatre next door at 7.30pm . On arrival I was quizzed and the manager demanded the table back for 7pm. Not the warmest welcome. I felt like saying “well you better hurry up and take my order then”. The starter of breaded artichoke was good. The main of parmigiana was ok. It would have been better with some crusty bread and a salad. A bit pricey at £19 but nice enough. The sweet was average. I’d go back but the menu choice for vegetarians was very limited.

Request to diminish or turn off the A/C in the evening was declined. If you sit in front of the A/C wear a coat and a scarf. Food was okay but charging a 10% for the service by default it's something I never saw in Italy. Weird.

This is a beautiful restaurant for celebrating special occasions or just for a lovely dinner out. Staying in Bath for a week and celebrating 59th wedding anniversary hand a wonderful dinner. Atmosphere was lovely with appropriate level of background music so you could still hold a conversation and be heard. Staff were very welcoming unobtrusive but still very informative and helpful when needed. Food was perfectly cooked and very well presented with prompt deliverly. I had the seabass which was cooked to perfection. A very good evening out.

The restaurant is friendly and helpful, and the food was great. I am getting old and cannot eat too much, so they happily served me a starter instead of a main course. They checked a particular dish when my husband asked how spicey it was and advised him on an alternative. Really great service to match the delicious food.

Perfetto! 👏✨. Excellent staff and food. Couldn’t ask for more. My husband is black pepper - intolerant and the lovely waiter was so helpful guiding his choice and checking out options with the chef. In the end a carbonara sauce was prepared especially without the pepper. Top marks.

We couldn’t get in when we stumbled upon it on our first evening in Bath so booked for 2 nights later and so glad we did. The staff were friendly and attentive, decor and ambience lovely and our meals were absolutely delicious. We shared bread to start, it was a large portion for the 2 of us. Mains were chicken (me) and belly pork (my fella) and oh my…. Scrumptious. We were too full for pudding! Definitely going here again on my next visit to Bath.

Great food, service and atmosphere

Good service. Duck and greens were very chewy. The ready meal duck from Sainsburys was much better quality!!

We eat out a lot but this was the first time in a long time we actually felt like we'd been out on a date night meal. Staff were beyond great. Attentive and timely. My partner had some lovely seafood and I had a vegan melanzanne which which absolutely incredible. Loved every moment.

This restaurant is ideally located next door to the theatre. The food is of very good quality and really yummy. The choice on the menu is excellent. I had the penne beau nash. I also shared a dessert with my sister and it was beautifully presented and delicious. There was also an extensive drinks menu and we chose a great bottle of rose wine. The service was very good and the prices were very reasonable. The decor was lovely and the atmosphere was great. There was only one small thing that wasn't great and it was that there was only one toilet for the whole restaurant.

We walked in with no booking and had to wait for a table, so glad we did. Service was impeccable and food was amazing. Would most definitely recommend.

Really delicious Italian restaurant - high quality food. The Cacciucco (fish stew) was based on a beautiful seafood stock and packed with red mullet and prawns. The Ravioli di Mare was also spectacular.

On a short break in Bath, we chose this restaurant based to TA reviews - and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice. Quite busy for a Monday evening but service was very friendly and attentive. Loved the octopus starter - can’t remember a better dish this year - and mains were also very good - roast duck and lasagne. House red was top notch and good cheese selection to finish things off. So much better than your average chain restaurant; definitely worth a visit.

Visited bath with friends for a long weekend. I was recommended this restaurant by another friend and it did not disappoint. Lovely atmosphere and the food was superb.. Can’t wait to visit again next time we are in Bath and recommend 100%.

Fabulous Italian food in the heart of Bath. Superb Frito Misto with calamari, prawns and red mullet. Veal Saltimbocca and the pasta with Tuscan sausage were exquisite. Excellent, friendly service. Decent wine list, including an Amarone by the glass! Highly recommended!

Extremely poor service. My partner and I went in for lunch. My partner was on a work call and hence I ordered just for myself saying that my partner will order once he's done with his call. The waiter was disgruntled and almost snatched our menus and placed the water jug with a loud thud on our table. My partner decided not to order based on the staff's rudeness. I ordered Spaghetti bolognese which ended up tasting very bland and totally not worth the money.

Matteo was our server this evening and he was fantastic. The food was absolutely beautiful, complimented with a lovely wine. Would definitely recommend.

Really disappointed with the food. Over priced, small portions, still hungry after 3 courses, felt very ripped off. The staff were really lovely & they would have gotten 4 stars but they went from 1 extreme to the other, at first they really rushed me, only just sat down & wanted to take my order, food came out really quickly, my daughter hadn't even finished chewing her last bite and they rushed to snatch the plates away. Later on though we sat 10 minutes waiting for our desert order to be taken. The food though was the biggest disappointment, I have already mentioned the really small portions & feeling very ripped off but I have to say the swordfish did not taste fresh, it had no flavour whatsoever and I wasn't able to eat it. I had a rocket and parmesan salad, I had to play hunt the parmesan though. My daughter had the sea bass, they should put it.on a smaller plate, maybe it wouldn't have looked so pathetic. Finally I ordered a coffee as wouldn't have eaten any of the deserts on offer, never had I ever hadbto ask for sugar and the little biscuit that comes as standard with coffees in restaurants wasn't there. Fortunately for the restaurant I didn't make a fuss, the place was so small it would have been embarrassing, I just paid and left, wishing I had gone to pizza express or 5 guys which are on the same road instead.

Fabulous dinner and they made special arrangements for my wife's birthday. Food was lovely and desserts were awesome 👍.

Great place in the town centre. The staff were welcoming. We came around 15ish, and they said the kitchen was already closed and we asked if there for coffee, and they said that was fine. We sat outside, and we ordered coffee and dessert: Pistachio caprese, ice cream and pana cotta. I loved the pistachio caprese since I’ve always loved pistachios. The taste was evident, and it was packed. I can also remember the texture to be like a banana cake but firmer. Highly recommended.

Great meal good staff who accommodated us on a busy night despite our not having booked. Best Rum Baba ever. Pity about the boorish and loud couple at nearby table. Offset by the lovely couple next to us🙂
