Fantastic food and lovely staff

Great Friendly Service and delicious food the hot fresh bread with the flavoured butters was very tasty as was the scallop starter full of flavour, I had roast beef with giant Yorkshire pudding, gravy roast crispy roast potatoes and mixed vegetables . All absolutely delicious. I had a Tiramisu dessert which was the best I've ever had Very tasty! A great wine list. Lovely cocktails this place is truly wonderful .

I’ve been to Walcot many times for drinks, dinner and events, and it’s always great, but last night was particularly excellent as we hired Room 2 for a work function and it was superb. Big thanks to Jake for being an awesome bartender, and to Layla for all her support, as well as Kitty, Scarlett and Ruby for their help with organising it. Brilliant

Food and service is just amazing, this is our second visit and again wasn’t disappointed at all. They made a special fuss as it was my birthday too. Definitely a must when your in Bath

We have esteem here a few times. Always excellent service and food. We prefer the bar rather than the restaurant. It is less noisy and a tad more atmospheric. However it is always nice to thank the chefs in the open kitchen. Also if is one of the rare places where asking fur a dry manhattan did not yield s blank expression. Can't wait to try the new pasta place. Thank you

An absolute winner! Relaxed but lively atmosphere, warm welcome from friendly and charming staff, interesting but not pretentious menu, high quality food and cooking, good wine list. Fabulous place to while away a few hours.

Great food with excellent specialty cocktails.

This was based on multiple recommendations from people in town. It did not disappoint. Very special kitchen here and very fine ingredients treated with both with respect and creativity. We had the fish soup and Cesar salad to start. Both exceptional examples of both. The fish soup was superb while not masking the fish flavor. Very impressive. The Cesar was the highest standard. The mains were beautiful and bursting with fresh ingredients flavor. The drinks were great and the service exceptional. We were sat at the window banqutte which was very special. We got there before the dinner rush so our server gave us that table even though we did not have a reservation - we appreciated that. A lovely dining room that feels very modern and warm at the same time. This is a wonderful culinary experience and I highly recommend putting this on your list while in Bath.

Very good food and service. Cocktails are perfect too. A must vist if your in bath. We were served by rosie and ruth. Its lovley when you can tell staff love where they work. We also appreciate ruth getting us a table downstairs after our meal. Will be back next time we vist

Visited Sunday lunch without reservation, fortunately got a table. Lamb Belly (starters) 5/5 - crunchy outside, soft inside melts in your mouth. 😚👌 Sunday Roast Pork 4.5/5 - came with 2 sides, Enough to feed both of us. ✅ 12.5% service change 😶

Disappointed at the lack of accessible support

My friend had a medical incident from which the bouncer refused them water despite being explained the situation. They threw the water on the floor stating they needed to "find water somewhere else" as well as threatening someone else with "I would enjoy your night and ignore them or you will be kicked out too" this is extremely upsetting especially considering the situation and welfare of my friend.

Terrible service, denied an ill person access to water and cared more about their profit than the welfare of their customer's.

(NOT DINING SERVICE) Uncaring security, mate hadn't bought a drink and unfortunately had a medical incident, we removed him from their licencing area and we were harassed by security while taking care of them, came across they cared more about their licencing than the safety of others

Such a great find in Bath! The service was superb with a very personal touch. 6 of us had a 3 course meal including sharing portion steaks. Really impressed by the quality and quantity of the food. The tiramisu dessert was also to die for. Highly recommend!

Delicious Sunday Roast with all the trimmings. Puffy Yorkshire puddings, succulent meats and delish cream of leek, roasties and savoy cabbage.

Wonderful place. We were there for a wedding evening and it was fun. The room downstairs is laid out well and nicely decorated. The food was great and best of all the staff were so helpful and kind. The only thing for me was there was no quite corner, there were speakers everywhere, it's difficult for us older ones to think straight. We had to go upstairs for respite. It wouldn't take much to adjust some corners of the space. Overall though it was well run. Thanks.

Went here for a weekend breakfast and really enjoyed it. The restaurant is really nicely decorated and has a very warm, relaxed atmosphere. Really nice and interesting selections on the menu, and are drinks and food both came really quickly.

Everything was absolutely delicious especially the cabbage side and the chocolate dessert. Would definitely recommend for an enjoyable and exquisite time.

Leila and Meg were the most perfect hosts couldn’t have asked for better service especially during a very busy period they are the reason I would come back!!

Had a great brunch at Walcot House! I enjoyed the Sausage and Egg bap, which was perfectly cooked and flavorful. My girlfriend had the Croissant Paneperdu, and it was absolutely delicious. Cozy atmosphere and friendly service. Would definitely recommend!

Gorgeous food, absolutely delicious.

This was one of my most jaw-dropping starters ever. I had Wiltshire Horn Lamb Belly which was super rich and tender, alongside beans with an anchovy dressing. But for my main I went for a Schnitzel - and this was nothing like the authentic Austrian Schnitzels I've had previously. The meat was thick and underneath the batter was somewhat soggy, and really just tasted like a big chicken nugget with some garlic sauce. I didn't really enjoy the main that much but I can now see that it's no longer on the A la Carte menu. Service was fantastic and the decor made me feel like I was in a true fine dining establishment. Hopefully I will return soon.

I walked into the restaurant around 15:00 on Wednesday 7 August. A sign said wait to be seated. I did for a few minutes, no one came. I approached an employee at the bar and asked if my daughter and I could sit at an outdoor table. He replied yes, I asked if we should order inside or if there was service at the outdoor tables. The server replied someone would be out to us. We sat at the table for 10 minutes, saw patrons serviced at three different tables but no one came to ours. I went back into the restaurant, asked for menus and water. A server followed me out to our table with both, said he would be back to take our order. We waited 20 minutes, again saw a waiter serving other tables, no one came back to ours. Worst customer service imaginable, speaking with a server twice, making eye contact with another and never being served. We left. I see 4.6 stars on Google. Wish we had the opportunity to experience that service.

One of the few places open on a Monday evening. There was a full house and still good and fast service. The food was good but on the expensive end compared to what we got. There are good acoustics in the room, but perhaps a little too dark.

Exceptional! From the food, the atmosphere to the service we really had an amazing experience at Walcot! Strongly recommend when in Bath! We had the bread followed by tartare and maquerel and then the chicken and the courgette penne, everything was delicious and great wine selection!

Good food in a nice relaxed setting.

There's exceptional dining to be found at Walcott House, everything on the menu looked so inviting. Fresh starters, filling mains, all with great flavours both new and traditional, would call it Modern British, using local ingredients. We had a bottle of the restaurants own wine "Flavour Zone", so good. Probably the best meal we've had out in the city. The dining room in the back was bright and airy with lots of greenery, a nice place to be. What really made it was the service, always on hand to fill glasses, replace bottles, ask how we were getting along without prompting. Proper top tier service.

Food was good. However - Waiter gave false information about (very expensive) steak. Waitress refused to give receipt with VAT. Doesn’t sound very ethical, would not recommend spending your money here.

I recently had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday at Walcot House and the experience was amazing. From the moment we walked through the door, the staff were welcoming and attentive, ensuring that our lunch was perfect despite the delay in our arrival due to train issues from London. The team was very accommodating, showing great flexibility with the booking and understanding. The food was as amazing, with each dish prepared with the freshest ingredients and full of flavor. Loved the anchovy caper butter on hot bread! My highlight was the delightful chocolate logs, which were part of the little treats plate. A special thank you to the staff for also delivering on my request for a creamy, perfectly blended Piña Colada. This delightful addition made my birthday celebration even more memorable. The thoughtful birthday wishes card was a lovely touch as well. My girlfriend had planned this surprise for me, and their effort in coordinating it added an extra layer of joy to the celebration. Many thanks! I highly recommend Walcot House to anyone looking for a special day, whether for a celebration or simply a wonderful meal out.

Accommodating staff. Sunday roast was tasty, however, the beef was cold and maybe a bit too raw for my preference.

Best restaurant in town. Huge steak portions and great food in general. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and cocktails as well. Fennel salad and burrata were great to start but I could see there being a rotating menu.

The was nothing (not even the green tea I had) that was not served with care respect and great deliciousness. The decor is relaxed but clean and simple, the staff is a delight and they have 30% off on a Sunday Supper! Absolutely fabulous experience - thank you 🙏

Food and service were right on point. Lamb shoulder which came as a roast was splendid - side dishes were excellent, loved the cheese and leek side dish especially. They also served one of the best roast potatoes and triple cooked chips I had in a long time.

I LOVE this place. The service, vibe and food is all 💯 I have visited The Walcot multiple times, for a full meal, coffee and just drinks - it's a venue to suit all occasions. The warm sourdough with three butters is honestly unforgettable.... Pop in, even if its just for a drink and to try the bread alone. You won't regret it.

I’ve been to Walcot house a few times. The staff are always outstanding. Very welcoming and friendly. The food is always exceptional and you can tell the ingredients are of the finest quality.

Amazing food. Easy to book online and trendy environment which is clean and well maintained. Staff were all very friendly and attentive. I ordered the sourdough and butter as a snack before the starter....it was a freshly baked small loaf each!! Very tasty. The asparagus starter was a nice light touch after the sourdough (which I completely devoured!). And then I had a Rotolo dish in a creamy tomatoe and basil sauce. Sadly, there was no room for pud. We each had a glass of prosecco, and the bill was £117 for both of us which is a little pricey, but I'd go back again as the food was so tasty. Recommended.

Love everything about Walcot House. If I lived in Bath, this would be my go-to bar/restaurant. The combination of their menu, service and ambiance is unbeatable. Their lamb croquette is one of the best bites I had during my month-long trip to England. The truffle Parmesan fries and wild mushroom arancini are a great paring as starter bites; the fries were incredible—crisp on outside and fluffy inside; their beef tartare, whipped cod roe and chicken and ham hock pie were also memorable. I’d love to try everything on their extensive menu. The hostess/server Daisy is terrific and took time to chat about the food and even provided great tips for exploring Bath’s many trails. Can’t say enough good things about Walcot House.

Came from Singapore and chanced upon this gem of a place. It was a full house, and we hadn’t made a booking prior, so they sat us down at the bar while we waited for a table in the restaurant. Took a while, but the alcohol was great! We really appreciated it. Eventually, they got a really good seat for us, and helped us with the orders. The advice was perfect, and fed us all perfectly. Staff was super friendly, and food was SUPERB. Starter: Steamed fish salad Mains: Lamb cutlet and Steak Dessert: lemon gateau basque The food did take a while to come, but it was worth it!

The green sauce burger is GREAT. Tasteful, juicy, and pretty big. And for a good price (compared to other things on the menu). The cocktails are delicious!!!! Interior is a bit upscale but feel free to wear something casual. I really like this place. Highly recommend coming here!

Had breakfast with seven friends and all agreed the breakfast was a bit sparse To be fair for the price a round of toast or mushrooms would of been a appreciated Tomatoes and bacon over cooked beans so small couldn’t really see them Latte came out luke warm indeed But on a plus note staff friendly helpful and obliging Setting is lovely and relaxed

The wheels are coming off? This has been our favourite restaurant in Bath, we have been 20 times and the service, atmosphere and food has been fantastic (until now)…. But this time it all unravelled. Almost 3 hours for dinner for 5. Nibbles arrived with the starters. Then eventually the warm steaks and burnt pies were delivered. Lots of apologies “we are very busy”. Perhaps the new restaurant in Frome is a stretch too far. Time to explore new places….suggest you do the same.

Came to Bath for a very short visit with my grown up daughter. I hadn't visited Bath for over 30 years. A friend recommended this place and we went for dinner on a Sunday evening. We were shown to a perfectly pleasant table in the lovely dining room, which was quite busy. Shortly afterwards our waitress came and suggested that because they were not busy that evening she would like to move us to a better table. Although we were happy where we were, we accepted this offer and were moved to a circular table at the front of the building overlooking the street. It was very quiet and was definitely a more relaxed place to eat. The staff, particularly out lovely friendly waitress were very helpful with recommendations and both the food and the service were faultless. Absolutely delicious starters, main courses, accompaniments and puddings. There were also some interesting and imaginative pairings with drinks that enhanced the experience. We would not hesitate to return, highly recommended.

Took husband for birthday lunch. He has a garlic allergy which was stated in the booking. Very poorly handled and the meal was a disaster. Not recommended.

Every time I come here I have the most incredible food. We are not local but my mum lives in Bath and we come to The Walcot every chance we have when visiting. We have been coming for years and it never disappoints. The venue is amazing and has a lovely atmosphere, the staff are incredibly friendly and the food is just incredible. All in all one of my favourite restaurants ever!

We booked an early brunch here as it was located a few seconds away from our Air B&B . Really lovely experience - friendly polite staff and an interesting selection of well cooked brunch options. Would highly recomend.

Not a single plant-based dish available. Get with the times! Nothing for 2 of our party to eat. If you’re vegan or have to eat a dairy free diet, there is nothing here for you.

This is our number 1 place to go and eat in Bath. Excellent for an easy going, relaxed meal. But also the perfect place for a celebration. Honestly, dress up or down, this restaurant will modify itself to suit your situation. I've never had a bad meal here, ever. We eat here about once a month and honestly it's perfect. Steaks are perfect. But all the choices will not disappoint. Could not recommend more. Absolutely love it here.

We went there for dinner and I was amazed by the professionalism of the staff. I followed all our waitress recommendations and wasn't disappointed, just top-notch!

For our evening meal on our 2nd day in Bath we chanced upon Walcott for dinner. What a gem of a restaurant. A beautiful chilled well designed interior, fantastically attentive and knowledgeable staff, and a superb menu. We started with seared pigeon breast... delightfully tender, and the pork belly and black pudding strumpets (a culinary cross of a scone and a crumpet! Who knew). Then we shared the bavette steak...incredibly tender with seasonal vegetables. Finally, a warm rice pudding...so indulgent. If you are in the area... please visit them ...oh! Btw...they also do a superb breakfast. Marvellous

Really liked this place. We turned up for breakfast at 09:00 on a Monday where we enjoyed freshly baked pastries and yummy yoghurt, rhubarb compote and granola. Top notch!

Always a fantastic experience visiting Walcot House. We headed in for lunch with our 5 month old Daughter - the team could not have been more welcoming and accommodating which we greatly appreciated. What a great place. We had their local bread with butter as a starter. Wow! Superb. And then possibly the best ribeye steak I've ever had. It's simple food done brilliantly. The atmosphere and service were also superb. You couldn't ask for anything more. Thank you guys for a wonderful evening.

One of my favourites, if not favourite. Terrific menu though I gravitate to their excellent chateaubriand. Great wine selection, too. Service is 2nd to none. A tad noisy but I'm an old guy!

We visited for a Sunday roast before getting the train back home. We got there early so enjoyed a couple of drinks in the bar area before we were seated at our table. One of the best roasts we’ve ever had - and we’ve had a lot! Beautifully cooked meat (we had the lamb and beef) and really yummy veg - not to mention the massive fluffy Yorkshire puds! Our waiter Callum was also fab - so attentive.

So I have been to Walcot house quite a few times and have to say it feels like they have found the stride recently. Had bar snacks to start, all really good. Chicken pie for main also really delicious ( they should sell them at green street butchers) and ginger sponge cake with custard, I added vanilla ice cream to it, and man it was delicious! Thank you to the whole team. Didn’t take any pics…. Sorry

Was able to get a walk-in table at the bar fairly easily and the food was superb—the best in the city! The sourdough with butters (we chose anchovy butter) was a knockout, as was the mushroom risotto. Perfectly balanced, quite elevated food but without the pretentiousness. Great atmosphere too and friendly service.

We had breakfast for 13 on Christmas Eve. We were asked to pre order and we made a few changes on the day. Fantastic service. Nothing was a problem. Will definitely go back.
