The Real Italian Pizza Co in Bath and North East Somerset

The pizzas and pasta was absolutely divine! The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the crust was crispy and delicious. I'll definitely be back to try more of their menu.

The pizzas are one of the best outside Italy & better than some in Italy. The pizza base garlic bread with mozzarella is excellent. Well worth a visit if you like Italian pastas, particularly pizza.

An excellent place for a good pizza and superb other pasta dishes, all very much enjoyed by all. The atmosphere was busy and service very good, they do charge for chilli oil!

Good food, good service and good prices

I've been to many pizza places in Bath, including Bath Pizza Co, Dough, Franco Manca, and even Revello outside of Bath. Most of them offer really great pizza. Unfortunately, this particular place didn't stand out compared to the competition. That’s not to say it’s bad pizza – it was good and tasty – but if you're someone who eats a lot of great pizza, this one might only seem okay. It’s likely authentic to the region in Italy it’s based on, as I recall having similar pizza during my time there, and it was enjoyable. However, I felt the cheese could have been better. It tasted more like homemade mozzarella rather than the buffalo or burrata that was also available. I usually see fior di latte as the standard, and it’s a shame this place didn’t offer it. The sauce was nice, though it lacked a bit of punch, but it was still more than satisfactory. The dough was a highlight – really good with a crisp bottom, and a folded slice held up well under the toppings with only slight sagging. If you're used to Domino’s or Papa John's, this pizza is infinitely better. However, if you’re a bit of a pizza enthusiast like me, I’d classify it as a good, but not outstanding, pizza. Overall, the service was good. The place smelled great, and it had a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. It was a bit quiet, which led to some staff being on their phones, something that didn’t bother me, but might be off-putting to others. Overall, I'd give it 4 stars because while it wasn’t bad by any means, it didn’t quite reach the high standard set by other local pizzerias.

Authentic genuine pizza served by amazing staff!!

Amazing pizza. I lived in Italy for 5 years and this has to be the best I've ever had in the UK. Truly authentic flavour and texture cooked in wood fired oven and delivered minutes after ordering. Very impressed. Massive range of toppings. Can't wait to go back.

One of the worst Italian food I've ever had. We ordered a lasagna and a pizza. The lasagna was pretty much cheesy soup with some traces of bechamel and minced meat. The pizza had a few pieces of protein and a lot of potatoes. The waiter said it was their best seller and his favorite. The pizza was essentially a cheese and potato pizza. We added mozarella but even that was tasteless. I don't recommend this restaurant.

Food was excellent but service was even better. The guy who I assume to be the owner actually recommended my girlfriend his favourite pizza which was less expensive than the other one she was considering . Would also recommend the gelato next door

We loved it here! It has been raining and we stopped in at a few places but ultimately ended here. The outdoor seating was fully covered so we could sit in the beautiful weather and hear the cathedral chimes without sitting in wet seats like other places. The service was prompt and courteous. We had the Patatina pizza which was to die for. I'd never had potatoes on pizza but my friend had in Italy before so she swayed me. It was phenomenal and I'm glad she did.

We walked in and placed our to go orders in person and after a short 20 minute wait our food was ready. We had lasagna Caesar salad and everything was prepared well. it was not our favorite lasagna, but it was good. The salad was fresh and made with good ingredients. The real Italian pizza Company was a good stop on the way back to our house after a long day of sightseeing.

Beware: Absolutely horrible service and racist chefs!!The food quality might be good but the behaviour of the staffs and their service is absolutely poor even though they charged us 10% extra for service when there was absolutely no proper service!! Me and my friend went to eat their on last Saturday and felt like the biggest mistake we made by choosing this restaurant. We were the only customers there when we arrived. The young lady who was serving us, her attitude felt like as if someone forced her to work there!! so she doesn’t care about what the customers think. We ordered garlic bread and one vegetable pizza. They served us the garlic bread and drinks by banging them on the table! Then took forever to serve our one pizza whereas the white family who came after us got their 5-6 pizzas before us. When my friend asked what’s taking them so long, the chef said it was on the way and they lied on our face that we asked to serve appetiser and mains separately which was an absolute lie as that lady never asked us such a thing and she refused to admit the truth. Also we felt that there was an element of racism in their behaviour towards us. So if you are a non-white person, I’d advise you to stay away from that racist restaurant.

Stopped for a quick bite as it was convenient to our hotel. The garlic cheese bread was probably the best “pizza” I’ve ever had. We’re in town a few days and will have to try to make myself eat somewhere else during our visit.

My friend and I went there on a weekend. It was 11:15 and the 2 of us were practically the first customers of the day. It was the worst experience ever. The staff was so rude, the waiter was a lady who looked irritated to be serving us. She banged the plates on the table and hastily served the drinks without a smile once. We ordered garlic bread and the Ortolana pizza. One of the cooks from the back of his counter asked "are you Muslims?" We were both wearing hijabs and I didn't at first think much of it because the guy looked like Pakistani/Afghan/Bangladeshi and I thought he probably just wanted to get along. He also asked where we were from and I said Bangladesh. Then he asked if I spoke in Hindi and he started to converse in Hindi. I apologetically said I didn't understand Hindi. I think he took it personally and served 6 pizzas to the family (who were white) that came after us and still we did not get our 2 items. I decided to speak up about it and he along with the waiter said that it was because we ordered a starter (garlic bread) + pizza which was taking time and also that we did not tell them to bring both items together. I replied that the waiter never asked us if we wanted them together and that it takes more time to prepare 6 pizzas than 1 pizza and garlic bread. The waiter and the chef both denied it and said that they did ask. I was astounded by the level of accountability and flat lie to my face. What was more is that when paying the bill, we saw there was a 10% charge for the service. I am definitely not ever recommending this place. I should have asked to speak with the manager. This was racism. You have no right to treat customers in a biased way just because they are of different religion or do not speak your language. Not all Bangalis know Hindi.

We had quite a carb-heavy meal after a drizzly day out visiting Bath and this place served well to leave our tummies happy and satisfied. We shared a slice of each other’s pizza, but I would say my vivace pizza with cured beef was lovely, though the others were great as wellThe beef was salty and the toppings on the pizza were top notch. Disappointed by the garlic bread as it was just pizza bread smothered in a bit of garlic butter. Worth just getting it store-bought if that is the case. Aubergine-based dish felt like indulging in lasagne (kinda) and dough balls with garlic butter were okay, though I would usually opt for something with a bit more to it. Service was good and staff were quite attentive. If you’re deciding on getting pizza, the tomato based ones are worth every penny

I’m not usually one to pick pizza for dining out but The Real Italian Pizza Co is decent! We went pretty carb-heavy. Dough balls, garlic bread and a aubergine-cheesy dish just for starters. The dough balls are warm and delightful - served with a garlic butter which seems to be the perfect combo. Garlic bread was a tad underwhelming since it just felt like pizza base with some lashings of garlic butter. My calabara pizza was excellent. Well-balanced with the greens, burrata cheese and spicy nduja sausage. I also got extra garlic butter to dip my crusts. To be fair, we most certainly ordered too much but we have no regrets. The staff are attentive and friendly. Some veggie options as well. My only suggestion would be to avoid non-tomato based pizzas because no matter where we go, these always lead to disappointment.

It's a shame because the food was really good. However, our server was obnoxious and she got our order wrong - and tried to make us pay for the wrong order.

The food was very good, the pizza was delicious and the gnocchi was very delicious for my taste. If I had known, I would have ordered it without gratinating the cheese in the pasta.

Try the special pizza with a glass of red wine. Tuna salad is a bit too much of tuna 😀😭but overall really delicious pizzas they have

We decided to have a garlic bread to start and then pizza and lasagne for our main course. I went for the mango cooler cocktail, my mum had a full fat coke. The cooler was well balanced after stirring and very refreshing. Plenty of dried mango for garnish! The garlic bread was 4 slices total to share and was crispy and garlicy - exactly as anticipated and was the perfect start to the meal. The pizza I ordered tasted good - tomato base with rocket, parma ham and balsamic vinegar on every slice. Couldn't manage it all so took a doggy bag with me. It was very tasty. The lasagne was the biggest surprise as this tasted so good. The pasta tasted so fresh and the mince and cheese sauce was yummy. I would recommend to all. Italian food done well. I tipped when the bill came. A perfectly reasonable price too. Owners/staff were really friendly and attentive.

The pizza here was very nice, I wouldn't say completely authentic but very good regardless. The pizza dough in particular was a highlight and the staff were very nice. I would definitely recommend.

We have come back to Bath after15 years and its been a Nice surprise to check that the pizza and ice cream are still amazing.

Should have been better,, near the Cathedral, indoors and outdoor space. Wrong order, slow service and wrong billing at the end. We still didn't get the water we were offered on arrival. The actual food was good when it came. They also gave one of us a free glass of wine for forgetting their pizza, so they sat without food whilst the other 3 ate. Pizza is easy to make, sadly we won't go here again

We had not booked a table or planned to visit but what a find. 5 of our group had the lasagne and the consensus was that the lasagne was amongst the best they had ever tasted. The pizza was really well cooked and the service was faultless. Such a good restaurant and ideally located.

The food was good BUT the staff was very rude and they charged us for 2 bottles of water while we just had one bottle. On questioning when the bill arrived, they said they didn't have small bottles so just charged us twice for one big bottle without letting us know about it. On top of that we were charged for service with no option to avoid it and we paid for poor services. He also snatched the menu out of my hands without asking. Customers are not welcome and are disrespected and treated rudely.

The food was good, but the staff were extremely rude. They billed us for two bottles of water even though we only had one. When we asked about it, they claimed they didn't have small bottles and therefore charged us twice for a single large bottle without informing us. This was a great place to grab a meal while visiting the city of Bath. I heard that they had a nice courtyard area, but we just got a quick table in the front. The pizza was just right to give us enough energy to keep pushing on to explore the rest of the city.

We went here on recommendation from the guests' book in our B&B and were pleased we made the choice. From the moment we went in, we were welcomed and made to feel at ease. Service was prompt and efficient. Our shared starter platter large and very tasty. Due to my wife's nut allergy one of the meats was excluded (due to contained pistachios) but a plate of the missing offender was bought just for me. Each of our pizzas was very tasty. The wine was also good, but that should be expected. Prior to leaving we were each offered a liquor, gratis. Finally, the price was exceptionally reasonable for a centre of Bath locale. Recommended

Pizza ok nothing amazing , same with starters. Unfortunately surly young waitress, totally uninterested and miserable. No warmth and one word answers to any questions. Spoilt whole experience, decided def not to tip but already added to bill

The toppings were each individually clumped together and not spread across the pizza. Service was extremely slow but only a couple minutes to get the pizza once ordered. I would have preferred that they took the time to create a good pizza.

Great place for a hen do. Outdoor seating was lovely and it was really easy to sort the bill as a large group. Food also delicious and delivered very quickly!

This is the best pizza I have had in The UK. I have traveled all over the UK the past 2 weeks eating pizza and this has been the best by a long shot. It is so fresh, prepared very quickly, super light and crispy. I highly recommend it.

The staff was friendly and the food was very good! One of the best pizza’s I’ve ever had. Friendly atmosphere, good food and the Pinot Grigio was yummy! Orlando our server was funny, pleasant friendly and accommodating. I would certainly eat here again when in Bath, England. If you can make it to this establishment for a quick meal try them out you will not be disappointed!

Lovely staff, peak food, great location

We went in for pizza the evening we arrived in Bath because we were hungry and the pizza smelled good. It was a great choice. The pizzas were great and for desert we were able to have the wonderful gelato from the real Italian Ice Cream Company next door.

After very long. Honestly very long light and tasty pizza and bursting with flavour. Must visit food joint. Bursitta served was best preparation I have seen in any Italian restaurant.

Katalin deserves a payrise, deserves a promotion. She was prompt, efficient, something special in her intellects she showed with her photographic memo remembering things to the T. When I was choking in the midst of my stickabout even not me asking I saw her out of the corner of my eye getting lukewarm water for me-shows how observationalist and considerate she is. Her co-staff cooked my meal to a class standard. The critique I'd have is about the music played though Love Me Like You Do was theraputically legendarily upthere.

Lovely pizza and friendly service

Not sure how people are giving this place five stars tbh. Cost us £15 for a cold ‘chicken’ pizza (there were three small pieces of chicken on the entire thing) and service was included on the bill, so nearly £17 for cold bread with a bit of tomato and cheese on it.

Fantastic pizza. Visited after a trip to the spa and both myself and my partner were starving. Downstairs was all full (always a good sign on a Thursday evening) but they had space upstairs. Both ordered pizzas which were fantastic - plenty of topping which is rare, excellently cooked, fresh, the garlic butter dip is to die for. It was so good we ordered it to takeaway the next day on our travel home in the car. Would recommend definitely

This used to be our go to pizza restaurant in Bath, but no longer. Good service, food quickly came out, but the standard of the pizza was shocking, compared to what it used to be. If you are going to charge £15 for a pizza, then try to make sure the pizza has sufficient topping on it. My friend ordered the Piccante pizza and the whole pizza had 5 pieces of nduja sausage in it. The rest of the pizzas were also scantilly clad and devoid of toppings. My pizza was covered with rocket, I suppose to hide the fact it had hardly any toppings on it what so ever. Can't say I'll be going back soon or recommend it to others anymore. A sad decline!!

Left a lot to be desired. I had high hopes because the the real Italian ice cream co next door has really good ice creams, but I was completely let down. I got a anchovy and olive pizza deliverooed and it arrived totally cold. The cheese was tasteless, the anchovies and the areas around them just tasted of pure salt pretty much and the olives had zero taste as well. Not impressed, would not come back

Nothing to complain about food/service- wise, but we were seated in a room with a children’s pizza making party which was deafening. It disrupted the atmosphere and made us feel rushed to leave. Delicious pizza though!

Haven't been here since pre-covid. My how this once restaurant has changed. We all felt like being rushed ,order,eat ,bill,out. The waitress was unfriendly and uninterested about us. I use to love this restaurant for its friendliness but now it's just profiteering gain sadly.

Ordered a takeaway via deliveroo including 2 pizzas, the antipasto for two people and additional dips. Delivery was quick, but we were sent the wrong pizza, and the other pizza had a couple of extra toppings that weren't ordered, was missing the dips too. The food was also a complete mashup inside the boxes, which I understand wasn't the restaurant's fault but it made it less enjoyable. The restaurant promptly sent us a replacement pizza for the wrong one we were sent, as well as the sauces. Deliveroo also refunded us a bit for the mess, but just wasn't worth the faff in the end. Overall a bit disappointing, not worth the money really, wasn't much to the antipasto for nearly £20.

Excellent price and great food in the heart of Bath. Really friendly owner and the staff are very helpful. We shared pizza and Italian potatoes and it was really nice to watch it cooked in a real open pizza oven. The kitchen is in full view which always tells me they are happy to share their standards with everyone so overall a great little place

We ordered 8 pizzas for a colleagues leaving party. When they arrived the delivery man was so nice. Sadly there was like a water residue on one of them, topping very sparse and none were sliced. We had no pizza cutter at work so it was really difficult to slice. I called to give feedback. The lady was very unsympathetic and no apology. Very disappointing :(

Lovely food and good choice of pizza options. Away from the chaos and it’s in a lovely location. Slightly disappointed by the staff as they weren’t too welcoming overall and very abrupt from the moment we stepped in. Out of 4 staff I think only one seemed smiley. But overall would recommend

The restaurant’s name says it all. I would only add the word “Best” to it. I have eaten pizza all over the world, including several cities in Italy and this pizza beat them all. Thin, soft crust hand-tossed almost in front of us with just a hint of sweetness that I think I would have been happy to drizzle some olive oil on it and eat it all by itself.
