Great foods, great location and excellent staff. Berat and Ceylan were very helpful and kind waiters, they explained the hot stone concept and gave us useful advices. Highly recommended to everyone.

I would highly recommend this beautiful restaurant which sits upon the river Avon. The food was incredible and all homemade made, the Italian born owner can certainly cook.they have a wide selection of wine,beer and cocktails, mocktails are just as good if your not a drinker.The decor of this beautiful old building is modern but cosy and the atmosphere here was superb.The staff were polite,friendly and attentive, I can not fault them in any way. The price was very reasonable and will definitely be returning. We had a fantastic meal and can highly recommend the steak on hot stone as well as their roasted vegetable Risotto for mains and their delicious chocolate fudge cake with ice cream, which is all local produce and homemade .

My wife and I both had the prime centre cut hot stone steak, we figured since we are spending good money on premium food why not get the best available? It's not like it's a weekly treat so why not! My god it was incredible!! Fully recommend to anyone wanting a fantastic steak you won't forget! The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was nice and welcoming. Anyone ordering the hotstone, don't wear a jumper!

Good service, excellent steak on hot stone with sauces at reasonable price (all different cuts were just as good) and very convenient location. The family only had lunch there, would love to try their Italian pasta next time!

One of the best steaks we have had! It was nice to be able to choose your own salt, butter and sauce flavours, to suite your taste. Atmosphere was cosy and vibrant. Staff were very nice and ensured you had everything that was needed. Fantastic Steak for the price point. We will definitely be back when we next visit Bath.

Wow- flat iron steak was some of the best steak we’ve had in England!

Steak undercooked (kitchen cooked) - closer to blue than medium rare. I can only assume the waiter misheard me when I ordered medium rare. Steak was also unsurprisingly cold as a result. Service was very average, waiter didn't check up on us often. Also, very strangely, the food arrived within 5 minutes of ordering. Worryingly fast. Sat upstairs with 1-2 other tables - Wednesday night. Atmosphere non-existent.

Nice food and reasonably priced for the city centre. Good location overlooking the river. Friendly and accommodating staff, contributing to a relaxed atmosphere.

It was a place where we ate meat on a hot stone. Meats were delicious. The service was very good. However, where you were sitting on the stone, there was smoke because there was cooked meat. Ventilation was not sufficient.

Steak! Steak! Steak! Amazing food, cooking your own steak on hot stones at your table to your liking with a choice of different salts, butters and sauces. A plethora of sides to choose from as well. Don't miss out on this incredible experience!

The steak was incredible, super juicy and tasty. The only downside was the "roasted potatoes" were completely undercooked and inedible. We asked for it to be taken off our bill but that didn't happen and we couldn't be bothered to stay any longer as it was quite lively. I recommend the steak but definitely avoid the potatoes.

Perfect location before the Rugby in Bath

I visited this establishment with my family. The seating was somewhat cramped and not particularly conducive to accommodating wheelchairs or strollers. The meat dishes were of good quality, although the seasoning, particularly in the risotto, was excessively salty. The ventilation in the restaurant was inadequate, and the smoke was bothersome. I requested that a staff member open a window to improve the air circulation, but my request was disregarded. One male staff member was friendly and accommodating, but his ability to address the issues was limited. Overall, the restaurant may be suitable for small groups of two or three people, but it is not well-equipped to accommodate larger groups, especially considering the tourist-oriented nature of Bath. It appears to be more of a local establishment rather than one that is well-prepared to cater to tourists.

Not a bad little place. Food was average. Service was great and staff friendly.

My experience at Joya was nothing but disappointing. Everything was going fine until my hot stone ribeye arrived, as I found what I believed to be a long thick rope inside my raw steak (it wasn’t small). I raised my concern to the waiter (male, tall, blonde) asking him if this was normal, to what he replied “I’m not sure I will have to check with the kitchen.” And since my steak was being taken back to the kitchen anyway I asked the waiter if it was possible to have my steak cooked in the kitchen instead of having to carry the hot stone back, I just thought that was easier for everyone. The waiter wasn’t sure if that was possible and said “I will have to check first” ….. 20 minutes went by with no explanations or answers back from the waiter. As my friends finished all their food, my steak came back cooked well done hard as rock (I usually go for medium rare). To my confusion as to why the waiter didn’t ask how I’d want my steak prepared as that’s the most basic and important thing to ask at a steak place, I raised the issue again. The waiter acted very defensive and said he asked if medium was okay and that I agreed. 1. He never asked us that, I confirmed that with people sitting around me. I don’t know why he lied about that 2. That was no medium steak anyways, it was well done, brown throughout the thickness. It was like chewing on a rubber. Wasted the meat. The waiter then asked if we’d want him to take that off the bills, I don’t know about anyone but I find that a bit weird. I also own a restaurant and you just don’t ask, you offer. Because that’d put customers in an awkward position. At the end, I never received any apologies, not even one sorry about the foreign object in my food, let alone the attitude. They didn’t take the steak off my bills, I paid the full amount for their mistakes that they never admitted to. I don’t know about you but there are restaurants with far better steak and service out there, I will not be returning and I do not recommend.

Great food, good service and nice ambience.

The server with blonde hair on 8 Sep 2024 at 7pm served customers with terrible terrible manners. I asked her to give us a different table from what she gave because it was too small for us which is common that a customer can request but she didn’t say anything but just frowned and started cleaning another table. She didn’t say when we could sit town but kept frowning at us. We told her if she got a problem but she kept denying how terrible her attitude was. DO NOT GO to this restaurant if you don’t want to ruin your holiday.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I just had to share my experience at Joya. This place is something special. The steaks? Absolutely incredible – honestly, some of the best I've ever had. They were perfectly cooked, juicy, and bursting with flavour. The rest of the food was just as amazing, with every dish hitting the mark. But what really made the night was the staff. They were genuinely friendly and made us feel right at home. At one point, they even came out from the kitchen to sing happy birthday – it was such a nice, personal touch that made the evening unforgettable. If you're looking for a place with fantastic food and a warm, welcoming vibe, you need to check out Joya. I’m already looking forward to my next visit

The restaurant is located in a beautiful region which is so close to the city centre as well. The staff was nice and welcoming and the food was delicious, they serve food in good quantities so I would recommend sharing plates for people with less appetite. The drinks were very well made.

9.5 /10 honestly. I’ve only taken off 0.5 due to the small size of the restaurant but I think the intimacy also adds to the charm. We had the steaks and two pasta dishes, the bruschetta , onion rings and the limoncello dessert and I can’t fault anything. The quality was top notch and on a par with anything from Italy as far as I’m concerned. It was my birthday and the staff and patrons sang meHappy Birthday. Made me shed a tear!

Ordered the risotto but the rice wasn’t fully cooked so it wasn’t great.

Had a lovely meal on our first night in bath here. Service was rushed as we walked in but once sat down. Lovely waitress served us and it was great from then on. The restaraunt is in a great location and beautiful views as you come out. Decently priced for steak and the food was top notch. Would defo reccomend this place

Seb was fabulous, greeted us very professionally and friendly. The food was outstanding. Their freshly baked focaccia was delicious. The pasta dishes are top notch. Full of flavour. Can't wait to visit again.

Everything was very nice the service, the food, and our waitress was superb, Lea. The hotstone was amazing!

Underwhelming Italian experience, unfortunately. 1. We stood waiting for quite some time to be acknowledged at the door when arriving for our booking. We understand the hostess was on the phone for a while, but none of the available staff offered a greeting or comment to advise us that it wouldn't be long to see to us. 2. Our table was right next to the bar where staff were constantly to the left and right of us, so there was a lot of footfall, which didn't add to the atmosphere. 3. The food didn't feel overly fresh. It came out almost immediately, felt like it was probably microwaved. The Caesar salad had whole olives with pits in? 4. When we finished we didn't have the waitress return to ask if we wanted more drinks or the pudding menu, it felt like we were left to it. 5. When we questioned the bill with the service charge, we asked it we could have it without the charge. The waitress came across a bit rude, asked if there was something wrong with it, and on giving a vague answer that it was to do with the table being in a particularly busy area she offered no apology or comment and instead walked away, which sadly confirmed why we didn't feel we should pay a compulsory charge for less than adequate service.

The main event, the steaks, at this lovely located restaurant were on point. Really tasty, good meat, both from the kitchen and on a hot stone. Cooking the meat yourself is a fun experience, but it definitely creates a lot of heat and smoke, so be warned, especially if there's a lot of you and you're not near a window! Views out of the front of the restaurant were lovely and service was attentive. The other food on offer was decent.

The food was prefect. The steaks were cooked just right and served with flavored salt, butter, and sauce on the side. The vegetable risotto and the pasta carbonara were excellent. Go early or book a table. They were packed and it was hard for them to keep up with the crowd. We did not feel neglected.

Went for a graduation celebration. The food was delicious. Our waitress Mya and the rest of the staff were fantastic. Made us feel very welcome.

Food was brilliant and very quick to come out. The creme brulee was nice and huge! The bread was freshly cut right there and portions were great. The place itself is quite tight in an effort to get in more tables, and we were sat right by the door, with staff knocking the chair as they went by. In most any other location inside this wouldn't have been less of a problem. The table issue wouldn't stop me from going back though.

The restaurant is in a prime spot in Bath, and had decent reviews. Although the members of the group who ordered steak were satisfied with their meals, I ordered grilled chicken (I forget how it was described on the menu). The chicken did taste pleasant, but it was dry and came with just rocket on the side. For the money I paid I expected at least the addition of potatoes, or vegetables. In the end, my wife shared her fries with me. I don’t think we’ll eat there again

The Best vegetarian pasta dish With creamy pistachio sauce

Highly recommend this restaurant. The atmosphere is charming, and menu is varied. Three of our party order the pistachio crusted filet. I love a good filet, and this one was magnificent! It was cooked perfectly to temperature and melted like butter in my mouth. The demi gaze was delicious and the root vegetables were tasty. The 4th person in our party ordered the penne al a vodka, which was very good as well. The staff was friendly and helpful, and management was lovely to talk with.

Food was excellent and our server was very attentive.My only critique would be it felt a little crammed although I appreciate the popularity and making profits. We were sat by the bar and it was a thoroughfare for the servers, although no issue with the staff. Would have been nice to have slightly more personal space.However the best pasta my Husband has eaten, the gorgonzola rigatoni and a fab negroni. Thanks.

The place is close to the river. It is an excellent Italian restaurant. The staff is welcoming, especially Jenny. The service provided by her is very wonderful, cheerful and keen to ensure that the experience is very good. The place is rather small, but the food is good and delicious. There are no halal options, and shrimp are like seafood cooked with wine, so be careful, they have many delicious vegetarian options. The rosé is good, but I won't order it again because the tomato sauce is overpowering. The pasta is delicious, 8/10, and the sweet potatoes are good. The best thing to order is the halloumi. The fries are very delicious. The calamari is normal, but the sauce that comes with it is terrible. The mushrooms do not have any special additions. The prices are average compared to other restaurants, and the quantity is more than enough. All the dishes in general are of good quality. We may not have been satisfied with the choices, but the whole restaurant is worth a repeat visit. It is best to book before you go, but sometimes there is space for you to enter without reservation.

If you like calamari you’re in for a treat, piping hot crunchy, tasty:) the risotto is full of flavour and plenty of prawns. Steak is brilliant, cooked to perfection . Will definitely be coming back.

I love steak houses like these, where you can cook your own steak on a volcanic rock. We had a flat Iron steak, where you choose your own butter, salt and sauce. What can I say, one of the best steaks, Ive ever had. I cooked it too perfection on the stone I ordered a peach ice tea, costing £7. I drank half of it thinking, this dont taste like peach. When I looked it was packed with lemon. It was a lemon icetea. I also ordered a cup of tea, which was only 3/4 full (see picture). A service charge was also added to the bill automatically. I enjoyed my meal and would go back, but service wasn't 100%.

Excellent service. Pino Grigio was particularly good. Food was perfect.The brushetta was delightful, the best ice every had. Chicken breast was cooked to my request & was very tasty. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his steak. Desserts were very tasty too. Staff were polite & helpful. I can highly recommend the restaurant, it's staff & food.

The food was very nice, my stomach punished me later but it was well worth it. I had the pasta carbonara and it was lovely, I loved that they had some crispy bacon/prosciutto on top for a little bit of a crispy texture. It was a little bit smokey in the room which was a surprise at first but after reading the menu the smoke was understandable and it quickly went away. And it was a very nice smell of steak that almost made me want one as well if my heart wasn’t set on the carbonara (I normally do not like any sort of steak at all, and would rather take anything else). The small dough pizza was really nice as a starter and I was really surprised by how much I liked it. The crème brûlée tasted ok, there was no real taste to it, but they were very generous with the portions which was nice. It was unfortunately very loud, extremely loud even. And it was hard to speak to the person I was with. But I will say that the food was worth the noise.

We visited Joya for dinner as a hen party of 18! The servers were incredible to keep up with a large party ensuring orders were taken quickly and correctly and that the delivery of food and drinks was just as prompt. Both of our parties servers delivered exceptional service, nothing was too much and they were so friendly and personable. Food was honestly some of the best I’ve had! I went with pistachio and shredded chicken pasta which was 10/10, with a side of focaccia bread, which again was 10/10!!! Such a reasonable price for such delicious food! Highly recommend

Lovely food, unfortunately the service was awful. We had under an hour having our dinner and we were asked 5 times if we were finished, when our cocktails were still full and we had half of our plates still to be eaten. If there was a policy about leaving the table as soon as we could, staff should've let us known from the beginning. Plenty of empty spaces around us, so not sure why the rush? Really uncomfortable experience, especially when the food was so nice.

Highest quality pasta made with love ❤️ A very nice restaurant with a beautiful interior and really great Italian food. The pasta was cooked to perfection and had great flavours. It’s on the higher end so higher prices. The panzzoritini isn’t worth the money, it’s just a pizza pocket. But the pasta is definitely better. Haven’t tried the steak but it’s what they’re known for. The portions are pretty small. Service took quite long. But still a great restaurant that services good food.

The stairs to the first floor are not well lit which is the only complaint I have. The food and service were both excellent. My steak was delicious and the service was very good as well.

Thank you Jeremy for tending to our table. We had a lovely evening albeit we started the evening off sitting in the wrong restaurant next door before we realised our error 🤣🤣. We had some lovely calamari with olives & focaccia to start with. The focaccia was lovely and soft and baked on the premises, this went down lovely with the olive oil and vinegar but the portion size was far too big for us to finish 😁. For our mains, my wife and I opted for 10oz Rib eye on the hot stone, my brother had the sirloin kitchen cooked as he likes his steaks well done. These were served with an array of sides, triple cooked chips, Mediterranean vegetables and a rocket & parmesan salad. The hot stone experience was lovely and we soon found out why the windows were propped open. By the time the mains were finished we had just enough room for my wife and I to share a tiramisu dessert 😁. My brother opted for another Peroni beer 🍺. The tiramisu was amazing, the roasted coffee beans were a nice little touch If in Bath, we will certainly return again.

I had Bruschetta Classica as a starter, followed by Polo Rigatoni with pistachios and Burrata, and finally, a Chocolate Cake with vanilla ice cream. All of them were super delicious. I loved it.

Great dining experience! Arancini was perfect, hot stone steak incredibly tender and flavourful (you can’t ruin it) with beautifully paired sauce, butter and salt of your choosing, pasta cooked perfectly, and twice cooked chips were a perfect complement to the steak. Salad was decent just ask for lemon and add a bit of salt and pepper and it was great! Atmosphere and service were 5/5 would absolutely recommend!

Joya is the best place for a steak in Bath. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is relaxing and enjoyable. Huge thanks to waiter Dani for his food suggestions and his friendliness was delightful. He brought a smile to our faces and made it an unforgettable night. The steaks were cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. Would definitely recommend. Overall this restaurant is one of the best I have ever been to and I will definitely be coming back!

Really cool steakhouse, steak tasted good. I think it also depends on your grilling skills a little but it turned out well even though I had very little skill. Good place for a gathering with friends! Really good desserts too.

Absolutely sensational. Amazing service and a very good atmosphere. As well as extraordinarily tasteful food. I do recommend the hotstoned meat which is truly delicious. Not to forget the chocolate cake which is genuinely the cherry on the top of the cake. Simply excellent.

My husband and I absolutely loved this restaurant. It was one of the best steaks we have eaten in a long time. Also, the carbonara was on point. The only thing that could have been better was the tiramisu. It was very dry because they use more breading then mascarpone cheese. Other then that it was in a great location and had friendly customer service.

the restaurant is tiny to begin with so why pack it out with as many tables as you can so that even your staff finds it difficult to move around? Went there on 17/02 for a friend's birthday and already had to queue in the doorway only to be ignored and moved about because there was no space. the lady at the front desk had poor attitude and she almost did you a favour by talking to you. We eventually got sat upstairs and it crammed, busy and hot with no ventilation whatsoever. The table was tiny and trying to manoeuvre 4 hot stone steaks on such table was ridiculous. It kept getting smoky because obviously you are cooking your steak on it which is to be expected but at last have an adequate ventilation. I felt like people were on top of each other and 0 space. Also for an Italian steak house, where is the Italian steak? like Fiorentina? I found it pricey and absolutely overrated considering there were no Italian cuts of meat for which I would have been more inclined to pay the bill we paid for 4 people. Never again thanks, I can achieve the same at home without other people around me far more space.

We had the Hot Stone experience and was great. Steak was tender and flavoursome. Would 100% recommend I couldn't fault the staff.

Went for a late lunch as a party of 4 after booking a table for the Saturday. Having read the reviews about Joya and subsequently earmarking the restaurant as a must-visit, I'm can honestly say that Joya lives up to it's great reviews. The staff have struck a great balance between being attentive, whilst also allowing you the ability to enjoy your company. Both the starters were delicious and the mains (steaks and pasta) were well presented with depths of flavour. The steaks were great quality and cooked perfectly. Thank you Joya - we're already looking forward to returning!

Bath is teeming with Italian restaurants, which I typically don't frequent. However, craving a steak, I sought recommendations from the hotel concierge. The initial choice I had in mind was closed, leading me to Joya instead. Initially skeptical, I found myself pleasantly surprised. Opting for a fillet and roasted vegetables, I was delighted with the perfectly cooked fillet, which I finished to my liking on the hot stone. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive, ensuring a well-looked-after experience. I wholeheartedly recommend stopping by Joya if you find yourself in the area.

Incredible food, loved that you could choose whether to cook your steak yourself or have the kitchen cook it for you. Atmosphere was lush, smelled amazing when you walked in the door. Prosecco was delicious as was the arancini, gorgonzola sauce and the garlic mushrooms. Lovely, welcoming staff. Have recommended to friends!

Food: for a steakhouse, having 4 steaks to choose from isn’t worthy of the title. However, when we finally received our food, it was palatable (although the steak was impossible to cut, chewy and not cooked to how I asked). Pasta wasn’t made (likely outsourced), which is disappointing for an Italian restaurant. Service: slow (to the point where I forgot what we ordered), unremarkable, and the service charge seems more like a cash grab. One staff member was sneezing and biting their nails. Atmosphere: sat right next to the bar, making for loud noises, bright white lights, and a family of flies roaming (which food experts will know that this is a bad sign). Won’t be back again.
