Absolutely outstanding vegetarian breakfast, fast and friendly service and great atmosphere- highly recommend seeking this place out.

We had a lovely lunch here! Delicious sandwich which was a generous amount and a nice mocha. Great atmosphere and service, perfect spot for lunch!

Didn't call in but managed to get a seat on a busy weekday morning. It's a cute tiny café with friendly staff, quick service and reasonable prices. We ordered a sandwich, poached eggs on toast and a flat white. If there's one thing I highly recommend, it's the Grilled Bacon and Brie sandwich with their homemade chutney. It is probably the best sandwich I've had so far. Simple flavours yet they work together perfectly! I'd be back just to have that sandwich again :)

We called in for a breakfast before visiting the Christmas Market having looked at Google reviews for ‘best breakfast in Bath’. After comparing menus we chose Same Same - mainly due to the prices and also because they offered a full English unlike many of the other rated cafes reviewed which only had breakfast baps, etc. My full English was lovely - the chipolatas were truly tasty and the bacon was cooked to perfection. The black pudding was one of the best I’ve had and the mushrooms tasted like they had been properly cooked in butter. All in all with the inclusion of tea or coffee (I chose the tea which was good) this was very reasonably priced. My wife had the eggs Benedict which came with the same bacon and what tasted like a home made hollandaise sauce. The poached eggs were cooked well - firm on the outside, runny inside. The flat white my wife had was also top notch. The atmosphere was just right - relaxed and friendly and the service was also friendly. I highly recommend Same Same if you find yourself in need of a hearty breakfast right in the heart of Bath.

My go to cafe for months now. Simple cafe in a really quiet location. Charming and relaxing. Not often it is busy so it’s a nice place to sit and chill. Food and coffees are great, pretty much everything a cafe needs to be is done well.

They managed to seat us very quickly even on a busy rainy day - small but very good menu. Great service. Food arrived quickly and decent portion size

Had a lovely breakfast here, home made gluten free toast was excellent. Service was fast and staff friendly, could not have asked for more.

Brought out a birthday brownie for the Mrs. Nice breaky too. The bald guy was nice!

The full English breakfast was clearly entirely or in part reheated in a microwave. After eating more than 6 English breakfasts in the UK this week, this has to be the worst. The French toast was excellent tho… the prices advertised outside are lower than the prices inside. There’s also a service charge when you pay.

We had the best hot chocolate and parsnips and coriander soup. Must visit!

Rubbish. It started badly when we couldnt get anyone to take out order. Eventually we ordered a full english & a fishfinger sandwich with chunky chips. The only thing that had any flavour on the breakfast was the bacon & mushrooms. The feeble white "sausages" were tasteless, undercooked chipolatas which didnt taste of anything. The beans were tepid. The egg was burnt. I left half of it. As for the fishfinger sandwich & chunky chips, the chips were clearly yesterday's chips microwaved, so were not eaten & the fishfingers were off, resulting in my partner having food poisoning for the following 4 days. When we went to pay, we complained about the old microwaved chips & the poor quality, inedible food & the only response we got was "oh, sorry about that- Its £33.00 please" !!! That was it! On top of all that, i noticed on my receipt, they had also charged me an extra 10% service charge!!! The cheek! Goodness knows how this place has so many good reviews. We're certainly spreading the word around to keep clear at all costs. Shocking that places like this exist!

Henry is amazing at what he does, always gives his all. Makes every person feel like a truly valued customer. We came in for breakfast and the food was incredible and the place had a wonderful atmosphere.

Perfectly cooked eggs and delicious bread. Turned down the wrong street and found this homey and warm place. Excellent service.

I want to spew profanity about how good this place is!! A genuinely hidden gem in the heart of Bath. Stunning independent cafe that feels really comfortable, Kasia the server is so kind and so efficient. I went with my mum, I had the beef brisket sandwich which was STUNNING, just melted in my mouth. Mum had the smoked salmon sandwich which she said was wonderful, apparently elevated by the pickled cucumber. The bread as well I mean, I wanna know where they got it. Just exceptional. Would definitely come again and highly recommend.

Awful place. Waited forever to get our order taken, then when it arrived, it wasnt good. My full English had pale, undercooked, skinny chipolatas (not sausages)which tasted of absolutely nothing. The egg was burnt. The beans were just tepid.I left half of it. My partner had fishfinger sandwich with chunky chips. The squashy tepid chips were obviously yesterday's leftovers microwaved & tasted "old", so were not eaten. The fish in the fishfingers was off, resulting in my partner having food poisoning & spending the next 3 days in bed! Both meals were less than half eaten. When we went to pay, we complained & the reply was "Oh, sorry 'bout that - thats £33.00 please - cash or card" !!! I reluctantly paid for this rubbish & we left. How these places get good reviews is beyond me. We're not fussy people, but this place really was dire & expensive for such poor service & food. We are spreading the word around to steer clear!!!

Such a disappointing experience. I used to come here often when I was in Bath more frequently, and I always really enjoyed it and have recommended it many times in the past, but I've not been since before the pandemic, and unfortunately I don't think I'll be rushing to return. The member of wait staff who was assigned to our table was beyond rude; he was entirely monosyllabic and disinterested, and made us feel pretty uncomfortable. Our food took a long time to arrive, which I didn't have a problem with - we accidentally came to Bath on the day of the Jane Austen festival, so it was much busier than normal, and I fully understood that this would cause delays - but when 40 minutes had passed and our food hadn't come, I went to ask that same staff member if there was a rough ETA on our food, just so we could plan around it. I even said that I wasn't in a hurry, just wanted to know what to expect. In response, he stared at me blankly for a solid 5 seconds, then actually smirked and just said "when it's ready." OK... great, thank you, sir, what an informative response. I reiterated that I wasn't rushing them and just wanted to know how much longer it would be, and he just shook his head at me and didn't say anything else, so I returned to my table entirely bemused at such a bizarre interaction. Perhaps he was just having a bad day and is usually a ray of sunshine, but it didn't feel good to be spoken to like that for asking a simple (and I think valid) question. He seemed to realise that he'd maybe gone a bit far after that, and was marginally more polite afterwards, but it was a really unpleasant experience overall. To top it off, the actual food was really lacklustre; I had the French toast with nutella and banana, and the banana had the exact taste and texture of chalk. They were busier than usual, so I'm willing to chalk (no pun intended) that up to a bad day in the kitchen, as all the other reviews say that the food is generally good. A real shame; I've been looking forward to coming back here for literally years, and now I honestly just feel a bit silly for recommending it so many times. Mea culpa.

We arrived as a large group, and the team went above and beyond to ensure their existing customers were not affected while accommodating us. They handled it perfectly. We enjoyed a delicious and affordable breakfast with coffee, along with the pleasant atmosphere and prompt service. It was a fantastic way to start our Sunday. Thank you!

Came in for breakfast and it was busy, food was great and the staff were friendly. Ordered 2 full English breakfasts and they were just what we needed after a night of drinking. I think that was one of the nicest breakfasts I have had in a while, bacon was spot on!! Highly recommend

Found this place while wandering round Bath. Popped in for morning coffees- staff rather blunt. Can't say we would make a return visit.

Fantastic breakfast, nice atmosphere

The lady at the counter was friendly and welcoming.We had to endure, well, the whole cafe had to endure a staff member dancing and singing very loudly along to Michael Jackson and other songs for approx 40 mins whilst we were there, I don't imagine he stopped after we leftover. Highly unprofessional and just simply embarrassingly cringe worthy. Please explain to him It's very inappropriate and just not what customers want to have to listen to when they're paying good money to come in and eat or drink and relax. The very same staff member didn't even bother to bring over the tap water I asked for, understandable though when you're so focused on putting on a show singing and dancing for the whole place then mistakes will be made.

Amazing food! It was my first time visiting Bath and this place was absolutely lovely. The staff was friendly. The vegetarian English breakfast was top! I recommend!

Lovely staff and really good food and drinks! We can recommend both the ice teas and the chicken harissa sandwich as well as the soup of the day. They even provide free wifi so one can plan the day ahead. But be aware to not get too distracted by the good music ;)

I’ve eaten breakfast here several times, but on this occasion it was a little disappointing. The plate size has reduced, along with the portions, so although you may have a ‘full fry’ in front of you what’s there falls short IMHO. Plenty of beans and fried mushrooms, but accompanied by a small egg, wafer thin slice of black pudding, tasteless skinny chipolata sausages, half a grilled tomato and a single slice of toast… On the plus side you do get two rashers of decent bacon, a good cup of coffee, service was efficient and the location is great, but unfortunately these positives are not enough to tempt me back. I appreciate running any hospitality business at the moment is extremely challenging, but if you cut back on the quality/quantity too much then you might as well not bother…

Got the fish finger sandwich - fast, tasty and well priced.

Wanted a full English breakfast and did a bit of searching online and it said this was the black to go… very welcoming and very friendly server. Ordered two full English with tea. Very good quality meat and not at all greasy honestly one of the best breakfasts I have had out

As a GF diner it was great to see home made GF bread on the menu. What's more the selection of sandwiches was both homely and eclectic. I chose the bacon and brie. I liked the look of everything on the plate. One of our party had be given crispy fried egg which the offered to me as they don't like eggs. This made the plate even more perfect. The sandwich as a GF one was an open one which worked great. The flavours of the bacon, cheese and egg was enhanced by a delicious sweet pickle which amped up the combined flavours. With a few chips and the runny egg this was the best sandwich this year with out any question. Delicious! Even the leafs of the salad was a nice mix with a very nice dressing.

Popular little place near Bartlett Quarter , less pricy than elsewhere. Just had coffees and toast . Toast came as warm bread so asked for it to get toasted. Coffee just ok . Nothing special

Harissa chicken sandwich was perfect!! Soft bread, flavorful and juicy chicken, just the right amount of avo and greens. The chips were also some of the best we've had from a cafe. Perfect spot for people watching during lunch. Delicious coffee as well. Service was extremely hospitable. Would definitely recommend.

Smiling service with various homemade fresh food. I had a delicious vegetarian breakfast with a flavoured Assam tea. My wife had wonderful royal poached eggs. A real pleasure!

Strolling past on a wet Sunday afternoon on a bank holiday weekend. We looked at the menu and it looked pleasingly good. We both ordered fish finger sandwiches (£10.50 each) which came on artisan bread served with hand cooked chips. It was nice to have a substantial sandwich as so many places just use normal bread and I feel a little tripped off by this. All in all a pleasant visit hosted by efficient and friendly staff.

Popped in randomly while staying in Bath for a night. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked and runny; the hollandaise well balanced; the muffin toasted and soft. Looking past the excellent Eggs Royal, the star of the show was the hash browns. Somewhere between a hash brown and an onion bhaji, these crispy and surprisingly big delights were so good I had to order a second round. Alongside all this, the staff service was excellent and the coffee was strong. (Excuse the half eaten photo)

Excellent bistro away from the crowds of tourists (we were tourists!), excellent choices of eggs on brunch menu. Redbush tea. Toilets. Nice staff, quirky art and spiral staircase. Worth finding off the busy streets.

Was looking for a sandwich place, this one stood out because of the name. The beef brisket sandwich was one of the best things I've ever eaten not just one of the best sandwiches, one of the best things period. The brisket was perfectly cooked, the fillings, bread and horseradish cream combined were amazing... The brisket juices had soaked in to parts of the toasted bread to create something quite sublime. The chips, imagine seasoned deep fried roast potato wedges... Fantastic. Very reasonably priced.

Went in at 3pm on Sunday, only to be told they were shut, even though in the window and on Google it says they shut at 4pm.

Had a lovely time last Monday, the lady that worked there was super helpful getting us a table with room for a highchair. The food was excellent and the service was even better. Thank you for the lovely lunch.

Great place for a family brunch, first come first served but managed to get a table for 6 easily enough, friendly service and great coffee, poached eggs 'picante' were excellent and others enjoyed the full english breakfast

What a nice surprise in Bath! We were looking for a place for lunch and we stumbled with this restaurant. We had an amazing lunch! We tried their soup of the day and the chicken sandwich. Both excellent. Great service and reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

Nice cafe clean and friendly staff and not overly priced. Stopped in for a bite and brew and had spicy parsnip soup and bread. The soup was thick and wholesome and excellent made.

Perhaps we were unlucky, because the place was quite full when we were there and our experience would have been totally different another time, but we were disappointed with this cafe and our experience was quite far from the current 4.5 stars... The food could have been alright, other than the small portions and plain presentation, and the scrambled eggs were actually ok, but the poached eggs with chorizo we were served were just disgusting, with the bread completely soaked and covered in fat... I could not finish them and I'm normally not a fuzzy eater! Other than that, the service was just mediocre, and out of nowhere we were charged 10% on top of the bill, which was not clearly optional so we still had to pay it...

Went here for breakfast today. I had a full English, with added spinach + a coffee. The breakfast was delìcious. All hot, cooked welland mostly tasty, the bacon was amazing. The only thing I would say is that the black pudding was quite small and not crisp on the outside, and the chipolata seemed poor quality, almost a smooth hot dog texture inside. However, that's just nit picking. The coffee was included in the price of the breakfast which was a reasonable £12.50. The service was excellent and the place had a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be coming again sometime.

Lovely cafe with amazing food. Friendly staff, very busy place and understandably so. Lovely choice for lunch, the harissa chicken and avo sandwich was delicious. Fair prices, other than the chips which I felt were overpriced. 3.25 for about 10 chips! Aside from that small thing everything else was fantastic.

Visited this cafe at 3pm on Satuday afternoon in November. Found the service quite poor, long waits for order to be taken, long wait for food to arrive and then constantly had to ask for drinks/sauces/cutlery. Asked for sauces 3 times but never came. Felt a little unwelcoming as we were left waiting at the door for at least 5 mins before anyone even acknowledged us. Shame as the food is really tasty and delicious!

We came for brunch and really enjoyed it. Friendly service and the food was very tasty; the scrambled egg was particularly well-seasoned. I’ve knocked a point off for two things: the toast was poor quality Hovis-style bread and my portion of smoked salmon with the eggs felt rather parsimonious for the price. Would still return very happily though, if only for the hash browns!

First time in here, and it was lovely. It has nice decor and comfy seating. It was Thursday morning, so it was reasonably quiet when I visited. Went for the Full English, which comes with tea or coffee for £12.50. Service was fast and friendly with everything brought to your table. The breakfast arrived very quickly 😁 Was given a big pot of tea, which was enough for several cups. Everything on the breakfast was lovely, and the bacon was particularly good 👍 Clean toilets with interesting artwork This place is a little walk away from the main shopping streets but definitely worth the small walk, plus there are interesting streets to explore in this area.
