The landlord of this pub is a living legend, I will definitely visit when I'm next in the area.

My wife and I were lucky enough to drop in here on a whim on our first night in Bath. We closed the pub that night and returned each day for the rest of our trip! The atmosphere is great over the three floors with unique decor and random illustrations on the walls. The food is outstanding, whether it be the pies, breakfast, or the homemade sausages and vegan options. We had breakfast twice and had two different pies as well as the sausage and mash. All of these options were both extremely tasty and filling. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, with none of them on their phones and all very happy to engage us in conversation when they had the time. We were both very sad to have to go home as we certainly don't have anywhere in London that matches this fantastic pub in any way! 5 Stars!

Super cosy, snug pub on three floors, with library on the top floor. I've never been in a pub with a library before! Excellent beer quality. 4 or 5 real ales, from smaller breweries. Food smells excellent.

Lovely traditional pub with excellent local beers and wonderful pies. The only library in Bath that allows you to eat your lunch!

Sunk a pint here on a brief stay in Bath. Wasn't there long but nice ale and atmosphere.

Food looks great. I hope one day I can visit. But for now… 5 stars for kicking that idiot out 😆

So I've never been but upon hearing about the owner this is an establishment everyone should visit. Based on the reviews it is a wonderful place run by a wonderful person. Give it a try!

Great atmosphere, Incredibly busy even in January, Great choice of Beer's and the pie's were rather good too. Definitely worth a visit, Might be quieter mid week.

A cosy pub with lots of different seating options, I ordered the Chicken & Bacon Club which consisted of chicken, bacon, tomato, mixed leaves, cucumber and garlic aioli with a basil & chive sauce for £10.50 not sure if it was the quality of the chicken or the cut but it looked a little sketchy so I didn't eat the full sandwich. The onion rings tasted of cooking oil. Definitely wouldn't order this meal again. The staff were friendly and the venue itself was cosy.

Any pub that throws a bad person out is fine by me!

Such a lovely place. Since my son has been studying in the city we've visited many times. It's become a highlight of our trips to Bath.

Sadly tepid food, anaemic veg and slow service. Had hear wonderful things so really disappointed. Over priced for all above.

Nice pub with its own character. The staff is friendly, there’s a high range of choices in the food and drink menu, and there’s also plenty of seats (ground floor & upstair rooms) -> what I really enjoyed is how you can create with mic & match the roast that you want + compared to other pub - there’s a lot of veggies that you can take on the side, which was really appreciated 🥦🍅🌽

Tourist trap. Avoid. Came here as had fond memories of previous visits. Ordered food at 1:47, nothing at 2:25. Somehow our order got overlooked. No apology, complimentary drink or money off given. Lukewarm pie (they used to be piping hot and delicious), tiny bit of meat. Soulless mash and extra money for veg was not worth it. Drowned in salty cold gravy that gave me reflux. Have paid same amount for excellent lamb roast with all the trimmings in other pubs. Had to down food as needed to catch train. Just a tourist trap now. Avoid.

Love this pub. It's easily the best pub food we've ever had. Beautiful pie and chips in gravy. Staff we friendly and helpful. Proper pub atmosphere and loiok to the place.

We had a pie and it was one of the best ones I’ve had. It was devoured in less then 10 minutes.

Delicious food, great service, and is a pub with its own character and atmosphere. Had the vegetarian Christmas pie with the Christmas pudding and it was a great choice. One of the best pie and mash in Bath

Rude landlord and overpriced everything. Avoid if you can!

Not great for breakfast… Had a very disappointing eggs Benedict. Came to us cold, with the hollandaise sauce that smelt strange. Bacon was overcooked and the ‘wilted’ spinach just seemed straight out of the bag. Feel a bit sick after eating a bit of it 😕

Deserves 5 stars all day long for not accommodating Keir Starmer in his pub!!! We are from Bedfordshire but will be visiting you soon!! Also: take that person to court who manhandled you when you asked Keir Starmer to leave your pub. Your pub your choice!!!!

Called in for a few pints after our work Christmas lunch. Great traditional pub with lots of nooks and crannies to sit and chat over a pint or two.

What a disappointment. Having had coffee in the Francis Hotel a family member recommended this “real pub” for lunch. My wife and I found it uncomfortable and, to be honest, dirty. A group of six we hosted Australian relatives and I was embarrassed. A range of alcoholic drinks, but everything seemed “flat”, even the Coke. As to food……. What a demented menu. I chose a Ploughman’s and wife chose a cheeseboard. Cheese was plentiful, but tasteless: bread was dry, relishes bland and I would have expected a hint of meat on a Ploughman’s. Four others chose sausage or pie dishes. They did not look inviting. As to quality, not one plate was cleared! Will not visit again.

This is a very popular place, so we were lucky to get a table. Good range of beers and food. Noticed food prices seem to go up over the festive season. Very friendly staff.

I have never been there, but I just finally saw the video kicking Starmer out, and for that you deserve all the success that comes your way. If I ever visit, you can bet I'll be eating and drinking there!

Beautiful well kept traditional Pub, very clean inside with no rodents allowed! Amazing place, friendly salt of the earth staff and management.

I haven’t been to this pub personally but I can tell you now that it is one of the greatest pubs in the UK. Keep Kier Out. Standing up for your morals and keeping the guy who tried ruining your business out just because he wanted a photo. I have so much respect for that and believe you are one of if not the greatest pub in the UK

Awful. Disgusting food! Ok 8:50osh but we asked if the kitchen was open. The kitchen served up cold food with cold onion rings swimming in grease which was completely inedible. I get it the cooking staff wanted to get out of there but to sully the pubs reputation like that should be a sackable offence. The duty manager was informed and said she would refund but wasn’t quite sure if the money went back on If the owner/landlord would like to respond they are welcome

The most gorgeous pub with cozy corners, a library, and a snug. The staff were friendly and happy to provide guidance and their great selection of beers. Their pies were delicious.

Nice pub to pop in and have a beer after you've been in town for a while.

We didn't actually try the famous pies but they certainly smelt delicious. Good choice of interesting ales. Was pretty much full on a very wet, wintery Sunday afternoon but very comfortable.

Ended up at the Raven after failing to find a cafe I’d been given (dubious) directions to. I’m glad I wandered in. The Raven IPA is very tasty, the atmosphere is chilled and the staff are very friendly indeed. I didn’t have time for food but it looked amazing!

If you like your beers, this is one of the best in Bath. Amazing range of beer styles, great ciders. Haven't tried the food yet but what I've seen looks really good! Highly recommended

Fantastic selection of beers - particularly bitters, great food. Atmosphere was very quiet but I was there early and everyone was eating. Overall a great pub in the centre of Bath and importantly it's not one of the soulless identikit chain pubs that spring up in every city. Highly recommend.

The place to visit when in town. V.good range of real ales, ciders, wines. Well known for their pies and food menu in general. This is a pub that bravely extended when many others in England were closing. So hugely popular they even open at 8a.m. for breakfasts.

Came here yesterday after my cousin from Sheffield was here last week & highly recommended it. Wonderful place with a great, relaxed atmosphere & lovely staff. It was so good we stayed here instead of going sightseeing & had some of their delicious pies for dinner. They were so good we came back for breakfast this morning which again was top quality & delicious, but the thing that really made our trip to The Raven was the amazing marmalade, never had such a yummy marmalade, dark, bittersweet & totally unctuous. The chef kindly gave us some to take home with us. We're hoping that when we return The Raven will have put it in jars & will be selling it on the bar #nectarofthegods

Absolute must-visit! I went for the Flight board in order to try 5 of the local ales and the Raven steak and ale pie, absolutely stunning, best pie I've ever had and the ales were absolutely delicious, 100% recommend!

During our stay in Bath, we loved The Raven so much that we ate there TWICE. The meat pies are too die for! I literally wish I could eat there every single day. Oh and the beer..... one of the best I've probably ever had. Highly recommend! You won't regret it!

We have walked by this pub on previous visits to Bath. This time was a day trip from Bristol. Very nice and clean pub. The beer was spot on. I would visit again and recommend.

The food looks good but is too pricey so I don't have food there. I go for the beer which is excellent and they have a good selection.
