Beautifully clean, comfortable room. Friendly, attentive service, and great food. Ideal location for exploring Somerset and Dorset. So good, we are on a return visit.
Closed down? Walked down the highstreet and couldn't find it. We think we found where it used to be due to colour matching, but the sign had gone and it was empty.
Great pub, only dropped in to meet a friend, all seemed very friendly and welcoming, a locals pub that is open to all so great! Looked like there was a good selection of beer plenty of soft drinks, easy parking so good meeting spot! Great find.
Tuvimos una estancia fantástica aquí con mi esposa y 2 niños pequeños, hotel familiar muy amable, habitaciones cómodas y limpias encantadoras y un gran desayuno! -Muchas gracias.
The building that Club 22 occupies is not longer the Conservative Club and the local Conservative Association would not wish to be associated with the club. Club 22 is a private club not in anyway associated with the local Conservative Association. I make this correction as a local councillor and the remaining details of 'my visit' are only there to be able to submit the review.
Lovely pub with nice people, delicious drinks and reasonable prices. It is a place that I can fully recommend because everything fits and somehow harmonizes here. Great music (DJ or live), delicious beer, suitable decor and friendly staff. I hope that one day I'll have the opportunity to drink three beers here again. ;-)
March 2025: my second visit so updated review. Food every bit as divine as last time....wonderful service, exquisite drinks pairing and cosy, calm and comfortable surroundings. I wont leave it as long for my nect visit.
Previous review from 2023: I love tasting menus and a bit of experimentation. They certainly like to innovate and experiment here, I've had some completely new tasting experiences today with the 9 course menu and accompanying wine flight.
The standout dishes on the current menu is a to-die-for pea dish, like a pea mousse with caviar, it was mouthwatering. The lobster dish with a gorgeous sauce, butter and sweetcorn, is absolutely divine. Also the bread they served, I don't usually like bread, but this was out-of-this-world, seriously, I devoured it.
The resteraunt were great at giving me substitutes for things I really hate, specifically goats cheese which is strong and abundant in one dish, veal/deer and beef tartare (not for me!!!), they gave me lovely alternatives and were really nice about it.
Great, place, I will be back.
This was my first time in the World Heritage city of Bath. I had included this shop (also a World Heritage site) on my sightseeing route, and planned to visit the underground after eating the lemon curd. Something happened when I was paying! I only had an AMEX card, no cash, and my smartphone payment wasn't being accepted, so I was in a lot of trouble, but the very cute and kind staff member Beth helped me in many ways to pay. It was the first time I've been treated so kindly overseas. I remember that she was smiling and had a very good attitude from the moment I entered the store. I'm very grateful. Thank you very much.
The food is delicious and the portion sizes are excellent. We had never been to Miller & Carter before and it did not disappoint. The staff were very friendly and were happy to answer any questions about the menu. All round a good experience!
For the cost the portions were very small, particularly the hummos and baba ghanuj, and the Kofta was nowhere near worth paying £17.95. I will not order from or visit Comptoir Libanais again.
