We visited this restaurant on a Thursday evening and we’re pretty lucky to get a table as it was very busy. We loved the feel and look of the place. It felt very authentic. Although it was busy, the service was quick. We ordered 3 mezze between us as a starter and found it was plenty of food for 2 people. On the menu it recommends 2 to 3 per person. I’d suggest you’d need a very healthy appetite to eat that amount if you’re having a main course as well. I had the chicken tagine with couscous which was Devine. The whole meal was superb and not overly expensive at just over £100 for 2 people including a bottle of wine and service charge. Highly recommended

I went there, expecting or hoping to hear that Lebanon had a unique language, but discovered to my surprise that English & French, is spoken there very often & (no surprise to me) that they speak Arabic too. I was able at least, to 'try' SOME Arabic, but mostly English, with the waiter who took my food order, but also spoke some (central/south american) Spanish! with the waitress who served my order (she was from Sri Lanka, but speaks no Sinhala? or Tamil, which I beieve are 2 languages of Sri Lanka). Her English is excellent as it is from everyone I spoke to there. So I was able to say "thank you, the food was lovely", in English, Arabic, & Spanish! The food, as expected was very nice - I had the Pitta Bread with Hummus to start, then Lamb Kofta with Rice & some Salad. For my Drink I had Elderflower Spritz - but will not have THAT drink from there again as it has 'soda water' in it, which I dont like. If, or more likely when, I go there again I will have a diffrtent drink - their 'mocktails' & soft drink list is quite large. Having a '2 course lunch' - starter & main plus a drink - cost me £33.92. A little higher than I usually pay, IF I have a late lunch in town. £25 is usually my limit on the rare occasions I go to a 'proper resteraunt'. A nice meal & 1 drink at £25 is getting harder to find when 'going Solo'. If, like me, you have a problem with seeds of tomato, red/yellow/green/orange peppers, or those from Chilli or with pickled (rather than fresh) cucumbers, you will need to ask the waiter if any of that is in their dishes, & tomato is used in a lot of them - they do not remove such seeds first, unfortunately (it is the seeds I have a problem with not the fruit 'born' from the seeds. Very nice food, background music (Arabic I think), very polite waiting staff. Not really 'expensive', but It will be a while before I go back, as £8 over my spending limit can't happen that often!

Awesome spot in Bath for a Lebanese. The decor perfectly matches the menu and atmosphere. Decent portion sizes. Service charge already applied to the bill let's down a star though.

Food is alright. Nice Hummus. But a bit too expensive for the value.

Beautifully decorated and inviting. A few improvements would make it more special and worth another star. Portions a little small considering price. Buttata Harra nice buy a tad dry. Falafels fantastic but again could do with a bit of tahini sauce to moisten. 12.5% service charge would be friendlier at 10%. And glass bottles of ice cold coke would be more appealing than cans. On the whole though a lovely, tasty meal and friendly and efficient service.

The restaurant is full of roses, creating a vibrant and romantic atmosphere that perfectly complements its maximalist design. The food, as expected from a Lebanese restaurant, was delightful. However, I was a bit disappointed by the limited menu. Despite the vast array of dishes that Lebanese cuisine has to offer, the restaurant’s selection was quite restricted. This left me wishing for more variety and options to choose from. Also, while the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, my mocktail took an eternity to arrive.

Me and my finance went for lunch on Sunday 4th of august and we had a superb time. The food was utterly amazing and the staff were so quick, friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this restaurant if you are in bath. Beautifully decorated and very cool on a hot day. Can’t wait to go back

I had reheated food was disgusting I never had such an experience.

I recently dined at Comptoir and I must say that my experience left much to be desired. The food quality was incredibly disappointing, and it was evident that corners were cut in the kitchen. Firstly, the chicken and bread served to me seemed to have been reheated. The chicken lacked freshness and flavor, and the bread was so tough and stale that it was practically inedible. The olive oil bread, in particular, was disappointingly hard, making it challenging to even take a bite. Moreover, the meat dish I ordered was a letdown as well. It was clear that the meat had been reheated rather than freshly grilled as advertised. The lack of juiciness and tenderness further confirmed that the dish fell short of expectations. Overall, my dining experience was marred by subpar food quality and disappointing flavors. I expected a fresh and delicious meal, but instead, I was served reheated dishes that failed to impress. I hope that the restaurant takes steps to improve its food preparation and quality control to ensure that future diners have a more satisfying culinary experience.

Painfully slow service won’t come again

£71 for two . Nobody in the restaurant . 2 drinks, 4 coffees and two small meals . Supposed to be in a tagine but served in a very very small bowl . Will not ever go in there again

Woaw What a great place. The food was delicious and had portions that wont leave you hungry. I recommend trying their lemonades as well. Food came fast But was fresh. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and the design is incredibly lively and welcoming. I think the prices are also better than other places in Bath that tourists may go to.

Staff are very nice, but seriously understaffed so service really slow. Food good but some ' Lebanese' dishes not authentic Lebanese ( I live in Lebanon) We used to particularly enjoy the Kibbeh and Siyadieh but sadly they're not on the menu anymore.

We ordered mixed grill, I do not recommend 4 pieces of chicken with kebab I don't recommend it You must make sure to pay, as sometimes the service amount increases

Disappointing and Overpriced I was incredibly gutted with my recent experience at Comptoir Libanais restaurant in Bath. The food, unfortunately, did not live up to the hype or the price tag. The portions were shockingly small(3 pieces per skewer) for the cost. It felt like I was paying for a tasting menu rather than a proper meal. To add insult to injury, they even charged for the bread, which is typically complimentary in many restaurants. I would strongly recommend exploring other Lebanese restaurants in Bath that offer better value for money.

I have tried the one in London as well. Food and ambience both are excellent. Highly recommended.

I ordered 3(feast to share ) meals which said it included mezza plater + main plater + tea and baklawa but I was surprised when the waitress brought the receipt, found they charged me 12£ for the tea and baklawa and when I ask her about this she said we made a discount for tea and baklawa and it is not included in the meal I feel scammed , this is the first and last time dining there Be careful

Had lunch today , the mixed grills is good but not the best, mezza is good service was poor , only one waiter and you have to wait for ages to get whatever you ordered although there were only 3 tables occupied! We ordered 3 share platters (it says in the menu -mezza, mixed grills , baqlawa and tea ) yet when we paid they added the tea and baqlawa price! When we asked they said no you get it for discount price bcz you ordered the share platter its not included ! Yet it clearly says in the menu that it’s complementary with the share order and it was 34£ /person and the waiter included it when explaining the order! A tip of 12% was added , we thought its mandatory, in the bottom it says its optional!? Yet they added it automatically and never clarified ,We did not notice that so paid it although it was a poor service !! I found all of that was quite deceiving!!

Avoid this restaurant!!! Rushed waiters,cold and huge waitting times to get drinks and especially food!! Meat very dry and very seasoned!! Completly not worth it!!

We were welcomed and seated by Duke who was very hospitable, friendly and food familiar. He gave us great recommendations but the halloumi with figs, pistachios and rose petals was just the star on the table. Absolutely mind blowing taste! Both lemonades Roomana and Toufaha you just must try yourself! Great experience!

Lovely restaurant. Authentic Lebanese food, true to taste. Great service by Ishita-we asked her for recommendations and true enough, all the preparations were to die for. We ordered MIXED GRILL platter, Tony’s hummus, falafel open wrap, spinach and feta borek, Batata Harra and assortment of lemonades. Everything was sumptuous.

The staff are very lazy and the restaurant is almost always dirty. They seriously couldn't care less that you're there. Once you get it, the food is OK.

We ordered fattoush, which was very delicious. Shish tawook was delicious, and it came with hot sauce once, but the quantity was very small for the price. It was served with vermicelli rice and cabbage salad. We ordered hummus and potato hara and they were very delicious 👍🏻. The atmosphere is beautiful and the service is excellent.

Best lunch place. Travelled with 3 picky eaters and they all rated this 5/5.

Food was a good. Service was abit hit it miss. Didn't listen to full instructions for example 'no mint' and brought a jug of water with mint in it. Also the door kept being left open on super windy day making it very cold. Want to go back to give it another shot

The place is very nice, food is not what you would expect but taste was good, portion small compared to similar places. I would definitely recommend to visit if you are in Bath.

I am a regular customer, however my recent experience has been a discouraging one and disappointing too. We ordered Chicken shish with rice and Lamb Mezze with rice as well. For drinks, we ordered a coke and a jug of tap water. It took them about 40 minutes to serve the food. The lamb Mezze was really nice but they reduced the amount of rice even though the price for all of their food increased by almost about 10%. The chicken shish were really dry and the salad tasted really bad compared to what we had before. It was almost 10 pm and we were really hungry hence we finished the food. They served the food in a partially broken plate and bowl. I have taken pictures. Also, the water jug looked very old and dirty. The gentleman who served food, I mentioned about the dry shish and he was sorry. He then gave us 3 pieces of Kunafa (that's what it looked like) in a takeaway box as a nice gesture, which were really hard to bite and we felt that it was really old. Overall, the experience was not good. We still have some good memories of Comptoire but not sure if we will be visiting anymore.

This was really average, would go there if again if friends booked it, but wouldn't recommend it as a place to enjoy great Lebanese food.

I booked this restaurant for mine and my partners anniversary, I had been here several times and loved it, this was his first time and I really wanted him to love it too, I was not disappointed! I had given them the heads up it was our anniversary and we were given a lovely table, the service was so attentive, we were made to feel special and the food was incredible (I knew it would be!) We love Comptoir Libanais in Bath and our light lunch yesterday was no exception. We were served by the always-charming and super helpful Duke. In fact, if we are unsure where we want to eat, we always seem to end up back at Comptoir due to the excellent service we always receive from him. Thank you, Duke! My bestie and I only needed a light lunch yesterday, so we ordered a Mezze platter for 2. It was so fresh and delicious! We usually have rose mint tea, but yesterday we opted for jasmine tea and that was also excellent. I was desperate for a dessert, but sadly was too full... so I ordered a piece of mango cheesecake to take home with me. It was also delicious and most welcome after my evening meal at home. A luscious treat of creamy, smooth cheesecake with a sweet and tangy mango topping. The sliced pistachios and bright, juicy pomegranate garnishes enhanced this indulgent pudding perfectly. Wow. Nice work, chefs! The food and drink offerings at Comptoir consistently bring a smile to my face and the bill is always so reasonable for such a delightful experience. The manager at Bath, Mark, who we met yesterday during our time in the restaurant was also really friendly and attentive. He made sure that this bright, colourful space was as welcoming and delightful for us as could be. Thank you everyone at Comptoir Bath. We will be back again soon!

Have tried Lebanese food before but this was another level! Staff couldn't be more helpful and guided us through the menu. Went for the sharing starter and the mixed grill and the dishes were cooked to absolute perfection. Would highly recommend dining here and will be definitely going again. The staff were attentive despite getting busier by the minute. Thank you for a great experience.

Looking for somewhere to have a late lunch and tried this place as it didn't look like mass catering for the tourists. Lovely decor and background music. Serving staff were friendly and pleasant I had the mixed grill, which was very tasty and a good portion size But the highlight was the dessert. Combining Vanilla Ice Cream with Baklawa is a great idea and this was a delicious dessert

Fine Lebanese food in atmospheric surroundings and authentic music to aided digestion. Staff courteous and efficient. The food nicely presented. A recommend. Family friendly. We over-ate and had the house mezze for two and two other large side dishes. Ate the lot. Well done.

Food and service amazing but it somehow lacked atmosphere

Had a great experience dining there! My friend and I were in a rush because of the trains and our waiter Duke made sure we got everything quickly and packed up leftovers for us. Food was great!

Go to the Thai restaurant next door. Here the service is slow and cold, but they charge a 12.5% extra for it anyway. It would be nice if this was anywhere before you make any order. As for the food, it is as good as mixing garlic with yogurt could be.

I love the decor here, but I love the food more. The menu has a great choice and you will probably have difficulty choosing. They also do a £15+ lunchtime menu that we will seriously need to try.

Ate here for the first time today. Restaurant very quirky and interesting in side. Service was a bit slow but friendly and helpful staff and the food was well worth the wait. Good quality, delicious food which was worth the wait. Would highly recommend.

Service was extremely slow, 2 courses in 3 hours. Half an hour for reordering 3 drinks. Food and drinks only came after reminder requests. When it did arrive, chicken was dry and burnt. It was expensive for what it was. To be fair we didn’t send the food back at this point as we have already waited nearly 2 hours for our main course. The restaurant was busy initially but then quietened down so not sure what the problem was. There are so many lovely restaurants in Bath, choose somewhere else.

Despite booking and no queue we waited 5mins to be seated by an uncharismatic waitress. Service was incredibly slow and waited 20 mins before having to find someone to take a drinks and food order and the another 30mins for food and drinks to arrive. It wasn't particularly busy, maybe 1/2 full. The food was great and it could have been fantastic but sadly let down by the service.

Food was very nice. Highly recommend the lamb kofta roll with batata harrara. If opting for dessert, the orange blossom mouhalabia is a fantastic choice. The atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely but not chaotic. This is a good choice for dining in Bath

The food is amazing, this is by far the best fatoush I have had in a long time. The music and the decoration make the overall experience very pleasant and cozy. The service is very good and the staff are very friendly. You're missing a lot if you haven't tried it!

Of all the rather anodyne offerings in Southgate for shoppers and tourists, this can be the nicest place to eat. They go massive on the theme (which I think is supposed to resemble some kind of casbah) and it’s a riot of colour with an eclectic mix of faux flowers, a multitude of pendant lights, plates, and textiles. The toilets are also themed with movie adverts. If you love over-the-top decor, this restaurant beats the Thai street food outlet next door and the tapas bar across the way. The best thing about this restaurant is the lovely fresh food they serve. The restaurant has been around for quite a few years and it’s popular. We had the mezze sharing platter, and I had the lamb kofta with salad. All of it was tasty and felt very healthy! We had a bottle of the red Lebanese wine, which is very, very good. Both spicy and jammy, with great body, it was a good accompaniment to our meal. The service is okay. We didn’t get the jug of tap water we’d requested, whereas other tables received theirs. It’s also annoying to be seated right next to other groups and couples when there were emptier parts of the restaurant, and then have a group of four diners plonked right next to us. I had to move my coat from beside me on the banquette before a woman sat on it. The restaurant wasn’t full and we could have been spread out a little (we had booked a table in advance). As it was we ended up trying not to listen to the rather loud group’s conversation next to us, and when one of their number got up to go to the loo, she had to squeeze between my husband and the larger group behind us. Far from ideal, and it wouldn’t have been an issue had we’d been more spread out across the large dining area. I think this is definitely something the staff need to consider when there are a number of empty tables. It may be more convenient for the eating staff, but it negatively impacts on the experience for the guests, which is a shame because the food really is lovely!

A warm welcome on arrival and asked if we wanted some water - "yes please". Little did I realize that this was a bottle of water and charged at £4.95 on my bill. Usually if one asks for water it is a carafe of tap water. Our Open Wraps were nicely presented but the underneath was so difficult to cut or pull apart such that my guest suggested we needed a steak knife to cut it.

Decor is no doubt top notch. I hope they spend some time training their staff for better service. We waited for 40 minutes after ordering our food and then reminded at the till that we are waiting for our order when they realised that they have not even placed our order to be prepared although the restaurant was not busy at all. We asked for tap water and glasses were dirty, my wife's glass had a hair in it. Portion sizes are very small for the price so its too expensive as it is not a fine dining experience as all the dishes are very basic and can be found in a takeaway shop. When paying the bill they added wooping 12% service charge and its very hard to see on their screen, we asked it to be removed as the service was very poor.

Food was lovely but service extremely slow (and rolled their eyes when we asked for the table to be cleared after waiting for a loooong time). They also sat our party across two different tables which we didn't realise for about 10 minutes :-D

First time dining here, will repeat for sure. There was no reservation available for same day, decided to try anyway and there was plenty space available at the restaurant. Food was really tasty, flavours are not agressive at all, is more like flavour builds up with each bite, and finish with a mint tea with baklava is a must. Bare in mind service charge will come included within the bill.

Started with our calling ahead to reserve. We were told we could not reserve. I asked if they could seat 6 in the next 5 and we’d be there. We were told no… Turned up 5 mins later, and were seated… Food was good, not great, but 4 stars good. 3 items (water, fries and sauce) forgotten from original order. Fries turned up after we’d finished. Fries and children’s meals were made complimentary (redemption). Then waited 50 mins once finished, before having to remind the staff we were there and waiting for ice cream (part of kids meal deal). Staff then question the kids whether they had finished or not… when it was clear they had. There appears to be enough staff. So I’m guessing, and it is a guess, that they need to work smarter not harder. A shame.

Food and service good to very good. However :Be very careful when paying by credit card - extra charges were applied without my consent. I used a Euro credit card to pay and selected the option to pay in GBP to avoid the rip-off conversion fees. The credit card machine briefly glitched, and then I was charged in Euros with the extra fee being applied. The manager refused to cancel the payment or to compensate me since this was against the “policy” of the establishment (how convenient). Naturally I was told that this problem had never happened before so it had to be my fault. Hmm. I was then offered the “solution” of paying again with a sterling credit card against the “promise” of refunding my payment in a few days. Obviously I was not inclined to put my trust in this. A pity because as said food was rather good.

Overpriced, poor quality and not well cooked. Potatoes hard. Steak dry and overcooked. Starters and mains overpriced for what is received.

My first impression of this restaurant was that they got massive decorations inside out. Came here with my wife on Saturday evening and decided to dine in since they were not many customers at that time. The staff mentioned that their meat were halal, hence we ordered Mixed Grill and Pan-Roasted Sea Bass. Both were delicious, but I think the Mixed Grill stands out more because of the meat's tenderness. The prices were about £18 for each dishes, and I think it's appropriate for that portion. They can improve on their service. Although the staffs were nice and attentive, the waiting time for the foods to be served was quite long considering there's not many customers. Fortunately, the tastiness of the foods can compensate the waiting time. Nevertheless, I would like to come here again in the future.

Went to this restaurant before the theatre, it was obviously popular as busy! The first disappointment was being served a very expensive can of coke, not even poured into a glass at the table. The main courses were small and the Tagine lacked flavour. The tastiest thing was the flat bread. We were also charged a service charge on the bill which surprised us as, the waiter couldn’t even pour a drink into a glass. We were really disappointed the that the food was just so ordinary and nothing special for the money ! Very disappointed.

Despite us arriving late into the evening we were served delicious food and given outstanding service from Duke who gave us a warm welcome and helped us decide on what to order. We got the mezze for one and the Beiruty and both of those were outstanding vegetarian options bursting with flavour. Would 100% recommend if you like middle eastern cuisines, very friendly staff and a nice atmosphere overall.

I had the delightful experience of dining at this restaurant. Inviting decor and nice ambience. The hummus was creamy and rich, the tabbouleh refreshing and tangy, and the grilled meats were cooked nicely.

Very rude manager he been shouting at my little girl just because she asked him for the food. He said seat and be quiet 🤫 food will come. Very rude. Food take ages to serve you. Microwave food no taste . Waste money and rude people

Came for dinner with my partner before a cinema date. When we arrived we had to wait a number of minutes before being seated even though the restaurant was pretty empty. This is a running theme going forward. Once we were finally seated it took a while before the server came over to take our drinks and food order, and didn't seem that enthusiastic in her general demeanor. I ordered the Lamb Tagine and she the mixed grill, once the food arrived it smelt lovely and seemed to be plated nice however once eating it was all a bit tasteless and bland, I seriously thought maybe I had caught COVID hence the lack of taste when I was expecting strong spiced flavours. Once we finished and finally got the bill after more waiting, an optional tip of 12% was added automatically to the bill which we asked to be removed as the service was just so slow. Not sure I would like to go back however décor is pretty cool and lively.

Regular in Bath for business and often dining alone. Food is good and portions spot on, great if you like grilled meat. I’ll definitely return

Truly the most beautiful restaurant I’ve ever walked in. The food was incredible, the falafel is to die for. The staff was lovely and wonderful at answering any questions we had. This is a must if you are visiting Bath!

Myself, wife and young daughter popped in after shopping and while the food wasn’t bad, the hygiene level of the restaurant was shocking. I’m not sure the tiled floors have been cleaned since it opened in the restaurant or toilets and if the toilets are that dirty I was left wondering how clean the kitchen was? I had to leave to collect the car and my wife was treated pretty badly on my departure and slabbed with an added service fee which I wouldn’t have paid. The staff weren’t unfriendly but definitely didn’t make you feel wanted and were happy to watch my wife struggle through the door with a toddler and pram full of bags. Disappointing as it could have been great (the photo is the restaurant floor, the toilet was a lot worse)

Did not like the food whatsoever.

They served the best chickpea soup I have ever had in my life. Facts!

Edit: if the food is fresh post a picture of how you making the bread or how you marinate the wings please . The restaurant looks amazing but the food is not so good and pricey. Frozen breads, frozen wings same I had in pizza express, kebabs …nope . Expected something better because Lebanese is one of the best cuisines but disappointed. The place is fine if you want to impress your instagram date but not for the food .

Unbelievably super slow service and they couldn’t bring the right food although we told couple of times.

WOW!! What an experience. The food was delectable and very tasty, the staff were accommodating and very patient. We were quite a large group and every member was extremely satisfied. Commendations all round

Very disappointing, the food and atmosphere is good, however, the staff aren't up to the same standards. Slow, unattentive, ordered taken incorrectly. Also, an optional service charge was added without being asked. Such a shame.

This is our go to when in Bath . Everything about this place is spot on . My wife is plant base and there is a good variety of choices . My only down on it if I had to chose one was £7 for a pint of lager .But I can take that as the rest is quality .

Food was was great. Service was relaxed and really efficient. Never felt rushed. Toilets were very clean. Fun atmosphere.

Much too expensive & very small portions

Food was nice but service not great. I was given a glass which was not clean , I very politely asked for a clean glass and was given another by a rather sulky staff member. I would recommend looking to replace the glasses which appear...

Delivery was 1.5 hours late, food was stone cold by then Will give a 1 star rating on food quality. We have eaten from this restaurant previously and the food is delicious. However I can't say what it was like this time as it was cold when it arrived and it was so late being delivered that we had filled up on cheese and biscuits

Très bel endroit avec une déco bien pensée, notamment un mur incroyable ! Nous avons passé un agréable moment (nous avons bu des garden spritz et des bières, mange des assiettes mezze, des mix grill et du halloumi aux figues rôties). Tout était délicieux et le personnel discret mais sympathique. Nous reviendrons sans aucun doute !
