Excellent belly pork, perfect cracking and delicious vegetables.

Run by friendly and competent people. Correct room and comfortable bed. Breakfast is very well included in the price of the room. Totally recommended if you are going to visit the nearby city of Bath.

This is the hotel with the worst service attitude I have ever stayed in. Due to the mistake of the hotel, they gave me the wrong room. The manager not only didn't change it for me, but also had a very bad attitude，the manager even wanted to kick me out. The room is very old and simple, and there is a small dirty place in my life.

Cracking pub, food really good too.

I stumbled across the Temple Inn by happy accident on my way to Glastonbury and it made my day. A proper country village pub at the heart of community, the pub quiz was in full swing when I arrived. The food was delicious, well presented and great value for money. The staff were fantastically friendly and efficient. And the locals were also all very friendly and I even joined a pub quiz team (and we won)z I will most definitely be back and can’t recommend this pub enough.

Stayed overnight, experienced their breakfast and dinner . Room was clean and bed super comfy . Breakfast ( had choices) )included in the cost of the room. Food and drinks at dinner great , - staff friendly and good atmosphere of locals and visitors . If in area again would definitely stay .

Popped in for brunch and it was absolutely delicious and quite substantial. The staff were warm and welcoming and my partner had the most amazing bloody Mary 👍

Great stopover place. Nice breakfast

Booking a table for three over an Easter weekend you wonder how it may be. Well, restaurant was full and busy all night with a friendly but lively (not noisy) atmosphere. On arrival we were given an equally friendly welcome and shown to our reserved table. Menu choice was very good, and the specials board tempting. However, the ladies settled on the Belly Pork and I went for the 10oz Rump steak, cooked ‘blue’. Well, talk about food envy when I saw the Pork Belly, more like t bone stand, huge. With beautifully cooked crackling to finish it off. My steak was cooked to perfection. All the additional vegetables/skin on chips also excellent for all of us. Would love to have tried the desserts menu but taste and portions satisfied us totally. I cannot recommend the restaurant, staff and food highly enough. When we return to visit the area again this will be our first choice. Also have to mention the local Bristol Stout, lovely flavour and colour.

We received the warmest welcome on entering the pub. The waitress was attentive to detail and both the food and wine was stunning. I had the chickpea curry and wow, it has got to be at the top of my favourite curry’s list to date! (I am not a veggie by the way) the popadom was freshly cooked, rice fragrant and the curry had a delicious warmth running through it, the home made onion badji was also a hit, it really was exceptionally tasty and the cheesecake was very nice too. The only problem I encountered, and I have to state this is a big one, was the chef refused to come home and be my personal chef, other than that everything else was exceptional. Both Managers were very warm, attentive and welcoming. I will be returning……….if they will have me! :D

Booked this hotel for my business trip as our site is less than a mile from here. My room was modern, clean, warm and just the right size for myself. The rooms were in a separately building from the pub but literally a 30 second walk. They have 2 electric charging spots and will give you tokens which count as an hour to charge your car. The atmosphere, scenery and food in the pub were great. Had the Pizza with Pepperoni and Jalapenos the first night, followed by the Breakfast Bap the next morning. Then second night, the Sticky Asian Chicken Thighs with the Bacon & Salsa Cheesy Fries. Followed by the healthier breakfast smoothie, the following morning. The staff were kind, friendly and polite during my stay. Would recommend for all to stay here

Popped in whilst out and about on a Friday afternoon. We had a burger/Fries and the Haddock/Chips Both were absolutely lovely, however the moment I saw my partners Haddock I had instant dish envy! Will definitely have that next time, thanks!

We were visiting family who live close by and were looking for a nice bed & breakfast place to stay at. The temple Inn was excellent. Our room was nicely decorated, warm, clean and well maintained. The breakfast menue had plenty of options to suite all tastes and was served in their restaurant / bar area, which had a lovely warm fire. Coffee, food and service all first class. Would definitely recommend if you need to stay in the area.

We stayed here for two nights and enjoyed an excellent evening meal and two wonderful cooked breakfasts. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were efficient and friendly. Superb value for money- I would strongly recommend it to anyone.

Warm and inviting pub, beautiful decor, and despite being initially disappointed some items were not available on the menu the food we ordered did not disappoint. Delicious chicken wings, succulent melt in the mouth rump steak, excellent friendly service, will definitely be back.

We booked to overnight at the Inn as we were to spend the day sightseeing in Bath and then Bristol. Our rooms were really comfortable and lovely. Adam made sure all our requests were accommodated and made sure we were able to watch the World Cup rugby in the pub. A cherry on the top was finding out that our absolutely delicious dinner was cooked by Lee, who originated comes from the same country we do! After a fun evening in the pub, we were treated to a magnificent breakfast which was included in the rate. A happy night at Temple Inn. Thank you Adam and Lee.

Our room was very well laid out with everything you would need, bed super comfy, really good choice of breakfast, also had an evening meal, good size portions and tasty. All the staff were helpful and friendly. Definitely would stay again.

The service was ridiculous. Took an hour to get main courses and food was stone cold when it arrived on the table. Bill was reduced, but ruined a family celebration.

Sunday roast was excellent ! Parking at the venue was easy. The ambience in the pub was clean, nicely decorated, family friendly and the staff were friendly & attentive. Thank you.

Lovely meal with my partner, very efficient staff, polite & helpful. Food was delicious, I had a small plate with a side salad. Sticky Asian chicken thighs. Didn’t seem small! My partner had the peri peri chicken, a little spicy for him, but not for me.

Just had an AMAZING weekend at Temple Inn with friends. The pub itself is immaculate and so welcoming. The snug is really cosy and the staff truly go out of their way to provide a first class experience. The icing on the cake is the quality of the food which is gastro standard. The accomodation is next door in an adjacent building and is decorated with real care and attention and beds that Lenny Henry would be happy with! Whether on business or pleasure, you will not go wrong at this little country gem.

Great hotel, staff very friendly and informative (especially Rose and Sarah). Rooms are comfortable and modern, food was lovely and hot. Great place to stay if you want to venture out to nearby areas. One point make sure you book a table for food (not breakfast) as it is a very busy place and you may miss out or wait a while. Would definatly stay again.

Excellent Sunday BBQ menu. Great value for money and tasty BBQ items + 2 salads. Lovely home made ice cream also. We travelled from Bath but will return soon and was an enjoyable afternoon.

We had a Sunday roast and it was lovely. The potatoes were perfect and the veg is very tasty! My friend had the veggie Wellington and said it was great. The pork was a little dry but still good.

So we arrived at this cute and very well designed pub/B&B and greeted by a very friendly manager. We were shown to our rooms which is a separate building (purpose built) feet away. Whoever come up with the plans for a couple of houses and then a B&B block needs an award, it’s very sympathetic and works well. Rooms wise - they’re small but perfectly appointed. In fact I’m quite surprised how well they do work with what’s in there. As you enter you have a big wardrobe/tea coffee area and then a shelf under the tv and bed side tables so lots of place to put stuff. The room left to walk around is ‘tight’ I.e. no more space than to simply walk to your sleeping side but you somehow don’t need more. The bathroom is cosy, well designed with a nice powerful shower!! Breakfast was my only slight disappointment. There were no cereals or pastries on offer only a variety of hot options such as full English, avacado and egg on toast etc. I had the full English and it was a tale of two halves. The poached eggs were perfect and the sausage quite nice too but the bacon was leather tough - I kind of felt like it was cooked for last nights burger and didn’t get used so warmed up in the microwave. The mushroom was tasty yet very garlicky for a breakfast. That said it tasted good and the staff were pleasant.

Stayed two nights and couldn’t fault a thing. Service was fantastic, the owners were so welcoming and the room was spotless. Comfy beds, modern style rooms and breakfast was perfect. Thank you, will definitely stay again if in the area.

Friendly welcome and one of the best sirloin beef roast dinners I’ve ever had. Other pubs should take note…young staff both front of house and behind the scenes who were attentive, friendly and knew how hospitality should be done.

Once we tasted the food we understood why as it was absolutely delicious - we both had sea bass and then shared a sticky toffee dessert. When I’m in the area again, I will definitely go back.

Stayed for a couple of nights. Rooms, which are in an adjacent modern block, are neat, clean and have plenty of storage space. Evening meals are tasty and good value. Decent selection of local beers on tap. Breakfasts are as good as I've had anywhere. All the standards as well as several more 'exotic' options, all prepared to order and beautifully presented. Our experience last week definitely didn’t match what some are saying here. Perhaps we should have realised it was going to go downhill when we looked for the entrance and a young girl came out and said it’s the door on the end. It wasn’t! It was around the corner but hey ho.Then when we entered the two young staff behind the bar didn’t acknowledge us so we asked if we could have a light lunch. We asked where to sit and the girl muttered not on one table but which one wasn’t clear.We sat down and a young lad asked what we wanted to drink. I asked what bitters they had and it was clear he had no idea about them (taste and strength) so I went to the bar to see for myself. The local beer I chose was good however.After we had started our drinks we were given a menu and saw that there were no sandwiches which is what we really wanted. Perhaps this place, or the chef, feels making a sandwich is beneath his culinary skills? To give a balanced review the garlic mushrooms and an egg on a bloomer, which my partner had, were very tasty. But I ordered the nachos which came as a plate of sticky goo (guacamole and cheese) gluing together loads of tasteless nachos. Not only was it poorly presented but it made it incredibly messy to eat. So we left.I can understand if a pub wants to profess to be a gastro pub with gastro pub prices (in which case change the menu) but if so then get/train staff who know what they are doing and have some understanding of customer service and attention to detail. A pity as this could have a lot of potential. But often the little things and attention to detail are what leave the lasting impression.

Just had a wonderful stay at this lovely village pub with rooms on our way back home from Cornwall. Rooms are modern and comfortable with everything you need for an overnight stay. We had dinner in the pub which was amazing - tasty and plentiful. Breakfast in the morning again was perfect - lots of choice and served piping hot. The staff and owners are friendly and provide excellent service. Would not hesitate to stay here again - just wish it was in our village!!

We have decided to stop eating at the ‘same old favourites’ locally and to try some other pubs we’ve never been to. Years ago the Temple Inn used to be a tough local which you wouldn’t set foot in. Boy how that has changed. Fantastic decor and friendly staff complemented the excellent food. Not cheap, but well worth the price in my opinion. A slightly awkward complaint about the side order was dealt quickly and with without fuss and bother and didn’t spoil the experience. We will definitely return when we are looking for somewhere to eat with friends.

This has to be the best food I have ever eaten! It’s so good! It leaves you deliriously happy! The chef is an absolute genius! The service is amazing and the place looks so classy but cosy! I almost don’t want people to know how good this place is as I think it’s the best know secret in the area!

Popped in today to have breakfast as a walk in. Was greeted by a young person who informed us that they don’t serve breakfast to walk in trade. Only at weekends. Young person was unhelpful and unapologetic. But this I guess is their policy but it’s a shame they don’t cater for passing local trade. Missing out on so much trade, I’m glad you can afford to be so fussy in these difficult times. I don’t think it’s a wise move to decline trade. Won’t be back…. And wouldn’t recommend

What a treat this was. A last minute booking to stay overnight enroute to Cornwall. We arrived in time for an incredible Sunday Roast. Probably the best I have ever eaten, succulent meat and an impressive selection of vegetables. The room was clean and well appointed with a great ensuite and comfy bed. A little road noise but it is on a main road so that is to be expected. Friendly staff and we felt welcome and cared for from the moment we arrived. Thank you all at The Temple Inn.

We were looking to stay in the Bristol/Bath area. The hotel is situated on the A37 and is easy to find. The room was clean, comfortable and well presented. The food in the pub was excellent. The ‘Belly Pork’ and ‘Short Rib’ dishes were absolutely delicious. The service is excellent also. The host and staff were very helpful and friendly. I would definitely book again when in this area. The Bath Park and Ride is only a 15 minute drive away and there are direct buses to Bristol and Wells. There was no disturbance from the road.

Food was lovely, I had a chicken burger and my brother had fishcakes. No complaints at the quality although the serving size was small for the price - it was almost £15 for a main course so would have thought they could have done a side salad or something with the burger rather than just a pile of chips.Peach cheesecake for pudding was amazing.£2.50 for a half of lemonade seemed extortionate. Went somewhere else not too far away where the same drink was only £1.50. When the main courses are already expensive, drinks prices like this is just another kick in the teeth.There is also only about 8 parking spaces for the whole pub, because houses have been built on the land which used to include the pub car park and garden (no doubt to make the owners a lot of money). We had to park on a side street and walk back which was ok for us, but wouldn't be good if you had elderly people on your group.

A (pre-booked) group of twelve adults and children visited for Sunday roast on 1 August. We received a warm welcome from Adam, Lee and their team and attentive service throughout. Between us we had beef, chicken, pork and the veggie option. Some were children's meals which were good value with an ice cream and drink included. All thoroughly enjoyed and indeed the beef was as good as any pub meal I have eaten. Pork was a generous slice with crispy crackling. My wife was particularly impressed with the vegan pavlova and one guest declared the cheese board a 'triumph'. Should we return to the area we will definitely re-visit.

I’m not from the area and I went in on Wednesday with family for a meal and to watch the England vs Denmark game. Was highly impressed, food and drink was amazing and the staff were lovely too. Highly recommend.

Wow! This is a little hidden gem! The moment we walked in the staff were super friendly, attentive and nothing was to much, even with a full pub due to the football being on. Much appreciated! We had dinner, drinks and breakfast the food was incredible which was delicious. The room we stayed in were super modern, clean and comfortable, again great! Visited with friends. Uncomfortable as no windows open. I asked if I could open one but transpired that all windows painted shut. Given the importance of ventilation in helping to prevent Covid I was both uncomfortable and disappointed. The only ventilation was fro one door.Also waitress handled my credit card but didn't offer hand sanitizer when she returned it which really should be second nature at the moment Food very salty. Far more salt was poured over the food before serving than was palatable.

Fantastic stay at The Temple Inn. Cosy, and perfectly clean room to settle down in after a day walking in the Mendips. Beautiful food, breakfast and evening menu were both fantastic, and the staff could not have been more attentive. We felt very welcome and well looked after throughout the entire stay. We'll definitely be staying again.

We came here last minuet spontaneously at 9pm after a day at a beach. The staff were fantastic- Accommodating and friendly right from the get go, we ordered our dinner on the journey as the kitchen closed at 9pm. They came out especially and found us a car parking space. We decided to have a long night with a fair few drinks, the bar closes at 11 but they continued to let us drink to way later and even found us some playing cards. The room was beautiful and had everything you could possibly need, although I say a bit small but was perfect for one night stay.The food was excellent, what I call posh. Tasty and full of flavour with decent size portions. Overall this was a great friendly stay and I recommend to anyone.

We were lucky enough to stumble upon this gem while on holiday. All of our party's meals were delicious and the customer service was outstanding with lots of personal recommendations and the ability to adapt dishes. The team couldn't do enough for us - we're only gutted that this isn't our local and is nearly 200 miles from us so we can't pop back!

We had a family reunion post lockdown for my Dad’s special birthday yesterday. We were made to feel really welcome and the food was amazing. Thank you to everyone at Temple Inn for helping to make Dad’s day extra special.

What a fantastic place to stay overnight and eat at. Completely dog-welcoming, great hosts who actually do make time to sit and chat to you. Lovely interior, so clean! Great supporting staff and finally a fantastic chef - Chef Boni. He made two dog-loving vegans very happy people. Food was so tasty - probably one of the best vegan dishes we have tasted. This place is a gem - lucky locals. Wish it was in our village - other pubs / inns take note, this is how you do it! London's loss - Temple Clouds gain.

We eat here on almost a weekly basis and we’re never disappointed. The food is excellent and varies regularly. Specials really are that - special. If Cocktails are your thing then you’ll be delighted at what you find. If all you want is a nice pint of fresh local room temperature flat beer you’ll be equally as delighted. The guys that run the place work as a team and each of them excel at what they do. Don’t be guided by any reviews prior to the middle of 2020 as there were intermittent owners none of whom made a go of it. Along came the Three Musketeers in the middle of a pandemic and the signs are that they’re enormously successful.Perhaps TripAdvisor will drag itself into the 21st Century and get rid of the old reviews. On the other hand however perhaps it’s so patently obvious that this it the right thing to do they will need a few more months or even years to respond to feedback they’ve had!Well done chaps! Keep it up!

Stayed here for a night after eating an amazing meal in the restaurant. The room was clean , well equipped and comfortable. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly . And the food was , as said , amazing . The signature dish of slow cooked beef rib was succulent , tasty and the most amount of meat I've had on a plate. Lovely home made puddings, which I struggled to finish after my dinner. And a great full English in the morning . Will defo be back

We had an absolutely wonderful meal this evening and had the pleasure of meeting the chef , Bonni. After expressing an interest in the Artichoke main dish he came out, unexpectedly, with a taster and it was AMAZING. So flavoursome and varied in texture. He then spoke to us a little bit about his passion for his profession, and it clearly shows in the food. We also had the strawberry and elderflower gin cheesecake which was super creamy and fresh!We genuinely can not wait to go again and taste more things that Bonni has created. I highly recommend eating here and trying something that Bonni has invented with his culinary skills and love of food. Hollie and Steve.

Prior to lock down this was favourite pub. It had great atmosphere, great food and reasonably priced. We thought we would try and support it and its takeaway. But it has gone majorly down hill. We had a pie a curry and chips. For the price of £27.50. In itself not the cheapest but based on previous experience we thought fair. When we got the food home however. The two portions of chips were so small that they barely filled half the box. The pie itself had a microwaved feel and the curry was like a muddy water.I hope that this was a one off for us but I will not be trying it again.

Myself and my girlfriend went for drinks with my cousin before having dinner. Both drinks and food was great and the customer service was superb. Will definitely go again next time we are in the area.

We arrived really late due to a long drive down from Cheshire and they stayed on to welcome us and a lovely warm welcome it was despite the time, sorry again guys :) The Location and setting is beautiful and when we opened the blind next morning, what we thought in the dark was a car park was a stunning courtyard, beautiful. The room was spotless and had everything we could need but the breakfast was absolutely top marks. All finished off by the really friendly and very welcoming staff throughout - superb guys and top marks given you only recently took over the place, you will be a huge success..Top marks and a certainty for us next time we are in the region, judging by the superb breakfast, next time I’m coming for dinner that’s for sure!

Such a welcoming atmosphere I didn't want to leave!! Both the owners and the team just want to look after you! Great selection of local ales and ciders, as well as n upto date choice of wines and spirits! As for the food......WOW! beautifully presented, hearty, full of flavour! Posh pub grub without there pretentiousness!!! Whats not to like! Keep up the great work, I can't wait to come back!!!

This is a pub experience on another level- friendly atmosphere, great selection of drinks, and the food is out of this world! Staff so kind and hospitable, would absolutely recommend.

Our visit to the temple inn was great! A relaxing and cosy atmosphere. I had the the lamb neck and it was absolutely beautiful, it was balanced lovely with flavour and texture, I ate every last bit.

This lovely village pub has just re-opened with new management and a new chef...an overall new lease of life. Lovely atmosphere with nice furnishings and a great selection of wines and beers. The staff are so friendly and genuinely excited to see and serve their customers. Now to the important stuff...food! I had the double burger and it was huge and delicious. Served with loads of chips too, I was really impressed...quite used to being served about 5 chips in a little metal bucket with burgers these days, so was pleased to get a good portion! My friend had the scotch egg to start, and then the cod...the cod was lovely...BUT the scotch egg was out of this world!!!! Recommend! We were stuffed when we left, looking forward to returning for dinner soon.

Food was lovely. However I overheard a few conversations between staff that made me question how they were treating each other. A lad behind the bar was talking to a young girl in a rude manner, and I couldn’t help but feel sorry for her. She served us and she was lovely and polite. Further to this, the guy wasn’t very nice to a few others either. Can’t fault the food, but the relationship between the higher members of staff and the younger ones who just want a bit of pocket money needs to change. Was disappointed to see this.

I've been to the temple inn and few times now and have always had a really great experience. The food is delicious and quite reasonably price for the size of the portion that you get. The burgers and steak in particular are excellent. The waiting and bar staff are really friendly and even recognised my boyfriend and I from our last visit. I'm looking forward to going again and reckon we will become regulars :)

Had an excellent meal at the Temple Inn. I had the Sunday Roast which can be a disappointment when it’s not how your mum made it however not so this time. Good portion size and nicely cooked. Definitely a place I will visit again.

We stopped off for an early evening meal en route from Wells to Bristol. We received a warm and friendly welcome from the staff and were able to order our drinks and food quickly as it was not busy at that stage. It was great pub grub (beer battered fish finger sandwich and spicy chicken burger plus fries). Overall, it was good value for money and we'll call in again for another meal before too long.

Visited here last night. Nice and smart modern pub. Friendly staff. The homemade pie was great, lovely and tasty. Prices are average. Beer was a bit flat and not the best pint I’ve had.Enjoyable food though.
