The best restaurants in South West

We came here to celebrate my sons birthday as we like it here and live quite locally.Food was lovely, beautiful place and never had any issues before. However, this time the girl that served us most of the time was what I would describe as frosty and really didnt seem like she even wanted to be there. We didn't let it spoil our evening but it made us feel uncomfortable. When we walked through after the meal, we said good bye and thankyou. She could barely bring herself to even look up and say bye! Very stuck up and very rude! The other staff members, however seemed lovely. Maybe this individual needs to look for a job that doesn't involve speaking to people!

Had a great meal with the family everyone happy with meals If I was to pick at anything an extra scallop on my starter would have been great but very impressive, they had a big function and it did not effect our service.

We have been stopping here for late afternoon drinks, snacks, teacakes, and cream teas. the staff are helpful and plesent

A lovely experience. The food was packed full of flavour and portions were more than generous. Amazing service, nothing was too much trouble. A really enjoyable evening, looking forward to visiting again soon !!

This restaurant is a perfect little hidden gem! We arrived 10 mins after opening on a Saturday with no reservation and the restaurant was already quite busy. Regardless of this the team did their best to fit us in. The restaurant was my adult daughters choice for her birthday & meal and they didn't disapoint. Both the food and service were amazing. We left very happy (& full). As a very picky vegetarian I always find it hard to find place to eat. However the salad bar here was fantastic & I was more than happy. We will definitely be back (with a reservation) & I've already recommended the restaurant to several people.

Only visited the driving range with my grandson but a good experience

Great Pub in Ashley Cross. Trendy older crowed. Large outdoor seating. Speak easy club if you can find it🤪 Good for dancing with DJ. Great owners & friendly staff.

Lovely meal on a Saturday in November. A warm dry space out of the cold. On the first floor looking down on the main street, good for people watching. We had fish and chips, freshly cooked, katsu curry and the special of monkfish in a lobster sauce, all delicious. One bailies cheesecake. Recommend a visit. Patient service

A really good find !! A local pub with great atmosphere and a really friendly and helpful attitude from the staff and locals alike ! The food was great ..... A good selection of ales and I was assured the wine was good too. I would recommend a visit 👍

It was my birthday and we booked a roast Sunday dinner from6.30pm. The food and service were exemplary and I was dismayed to hear negative comments from the diners next to us, which were both unfounded and unfair. I am a vegetarian since 1987 and the nut roast offered was without doubt the best I have ever tasted. Everything about this meal was superb and my compliments go to both the chef and the excellent waiting staff. Cannot wait to come again.

We booked here because of the great reviews and were celebrating our friend’s 40th wedding anniversary whilst on holiday locally. To say we were disappointed was an understatement! It was a quiet Saturday evening but we were surprised when we asked for another drink and was told the pub was closing - it was 9.30pm. Food was at best average and rushed. It’s a miss for us next time.

Lovely proper pub. Possibly a bit too old school for some in this age of gastro pubs. But perfect for our needs - a cosy pub on a windy autumn evening with good beers and ciders. Sharp's Sea Fury is on tap which is one of Britain's best ales in my opinion.

We stopped as we are staying in the area. Easy to get to, felt welcome. We had fish and chips, and lamb shank. Both were really good, large portions. The lamb was lovely and the veggies with it were perfect. Fish was delicious, and a lot of chips! We recommend!

Disappointed. Beef kofta main was nice but I’ve had bigger starters. Chicken tagine was not a tagine; two small thighs with potato and a little sauce. Bread was dry and hard. Nino was not interested in our complaint.
