The Sunday dinner was delicious 😋

Had the linguine, had a horrible taste, far to salty and I do love salt. Very disappointed. No service, nobody came to check. Can't recommend.

Tried the two steaks deal. Great taste and value for money. This isn't Wetherspoons or part of a pub chain so don't expect discount prices but you can expect decent food and service in a really dog friendly pub.

Great old pub just up the road from the beach and a lovely place. Good was good and service pleasant.

Avoid. Extremely over priced food that is basic or inedible. The cajun chicken linguine was grey in colour, with no fresh ingredients or flavour and dry chicken. It couldn’t be eaten it was so bad. We were expecting pub grub but at those prices thought it must be great! £19 for the chicken pasta. £18 for a basic pie, greasy chips and frozen peas. When we saw the prices we thought it must be lovely wholesome home made food full of tasty fresh ingredients. We couldn’t be more wrong. Very disappointing as to spend £100 on a meal out was a real treat for us.

Very expensive for poor quality food and a really miserable waitress no smile no welcome my starter was supposed to be sea food chowder result 2prawns 2squid rings 3cockles in a thick mushroom sauce Would not recommend and certainly won’t return . Please be very aware befor eating

Lived here 30 years n only just found this gem less than 10 minutes drive from home. Great food, friendly staff. We will definitely return

Been coming here for years when we come down to Holywell Bay. Lovely food with a home cooked feel and a great traditional 13th century pub.

We had the chance to wait for a bus there and the pub being right next to the bus stop, it was the obvious choice. People there are absolutely lovely. Everything is reasonably priced, and they do nice steak for two nights with all the trimmings on Saturdays. Would definitely go back there. The seating outside is brilliant on a sunny day. But plenty of space inside as well. Love their history and the thatched roof.

Love dining here! And love the dog photo wall which raises money for charity!! Our pair are proudly up there :) wish it was our local!! Xxx

Went for Sunday Roast Dinner and it was Lush ! Great portion size , the Cauliflower puree underneath was yummy , roast tats lovely , a huge old portion of gammon , a Yorkie and nicely cooked veg and gravy! Five Stars Peeps ! ✨

The pub is in a nice spot and besides the ginormous television, has a good atmosphere. The staff was friendly enough but the food was hideously overpriced for quality. My “thatched chicken” dish was like a student dish: rubbery chicken breast covered in a thick mixture of bbq sauce and ketchup, topped with a tonne of cheese and a couple of slices of bacon. The fish and chips was alright but a bit crazy to pay £20 for it. Beer garden was pleasant.

Quiz nights on Wednesdays fun quiz no prizes but money raised through entrance matched by the pub and proceeds given to Little Harbour hospice for children. A friendly and competitive atmosphere.

Been many times had 1 or two not great visits but overall a great pub, our latest visit needs to be talked about!! the steak deal X2 for £25 wow! In this though climate a really good deal proper old school pub grub well done! and tasted amazing!

The interior good do with a good refurbishment, but it was built in the 14th Century so it does have that charm. The service was friendly and the food portions were very big.

Went for a Roast on Sunday 29th October. I had lamb and my wife had gammon and it was amazing and probably best roast we have ever had. Service was prompt and friendly especially as it was very busy

Really enjoyed my drink here. Beautiful 13th century building with it's thatched roof a major feature. So beautifully maintained and brings so much character to the experience in going here. Very low ceilings, variety of drink choices. Sums old and new Cornwall up perfectly

Just stopped off for a few drinks, great area, lovely views. Car park easily accessible. Didn't have any food but smelt amazing.

always go here when on annual holiday trip to Holywell bay, usually for the Wednesday quiz night. Lovely food!

Been here for an evening meal the last few times we’ve been away, but today the food wasn’t up to standard. The bar maid and landlord were lovely but the food wasn’t up to standard. The onion rings tasted like pure fat and were soggy. The beef burger was basically mince meat, as it had no consistency of a burger what so ever. If my partner had picked it up it would have all fallen over the floor. The chips tasted like they had been fried hours before and quickly refried and some just tasted horrible. To finish all this off, it’s very poor not having a table check when the pub was basically empty. This pub is in a lovely location but needs some improvement. We left very quickly as we were really unhappy with the food.

Love visiting here when in the area! The food is always full of flavour!! Not expensive and the portions are on the bigger size! The staff always have a smile on their face and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming!

What a beautiful place. As a family of 10 we pre booked seats for a Sunday Roast. Orders for food were also pre booked. Beautiful food, great service and a gorgeous little inn 🌟

Not brilliant! I had the brisket burger which was so dry I struggled to eat it. Wife had a the veggie chilli which was pretty average, would not return.

Great pub to visit after a day on the beach ⛱️

“It’s ok” food was nice enough, scampi was pleasant, steak pie was a tad dry and the kids portions were very small indeed. Despite the really friendly service I probably wouldn’t rush back. We needed a table at late notice for a bite to eat and it served a purpose.

Lovely warm welcome in this beautiful inn not far from holywell beach. Dog friendly with a lovely photo gallery of visiting doggos. The food was lovely with very generous portions. We couldn't eat it all because we were very full. It's a regular tradition to stop for tea when visiting the area. Highly recommend. Enjoy 😊

We stayed in Holywell and tried this pub as it was close to the resort and the beach. We were not disappointed. There is an array of different seating in the garden and also inside, we didn’t find it difficult to get seated. Food and drinks were reasonably priced. Food was absolutely fantastic- we visited two weeks ago and my partner still talks about the pasta dish he had. The building itself it lovely, especially with the thatched roof as you never see this anymore! I’m not sure if the pub is wheelchair accessible as I think there are steps to get in (maybe they have a ramp), but the lower garden seats would be fine to pull a wheelchair up to.

Couldn't fault the young man who served us. Unfortunately the food was overpriced I had sea bass which consisted of 2 VERY small pieces of fish on top of 3 new potatoes and a terribly salty sauce which was awful this cost £20. I come from the east coast and can get lobster thermadore for same price

Fantastic light food menu for lunch. Good price, usaul selection of beers and I and ciders. Can sit outside as well in. A carpark around the back. Holywell beach two mins walk away. 😍

We ordered chicken wrapped in bacon, the chicken was dry and not tasty, we also waited a long time. Pizza for £10 is also not very good, frozen.

Really lovely and charming Inn. Great food - especially the Bao Bun Chef Special. Great atmosphere and well worth a visit. Can thoroughly recommend. Tip : don't try and get there via the public footpath unless you don't mind being stung to death by nettles and arriving with twigs and leaves in your hair. ........😅🤣😂

A lovely little pub! I would definitely recommend coming along on a Wednesday night for the quiz. The food is great too, lots of vegetarian and vegan options and the staff are just great. 10/10 would Shrek-omend!

Lovely little pub with great food.

Visited this gem of a pub after a long coastal walk from St Agnes. Lovely looking thatched pub, clean and cosy inside. Bar staff were very friendly too. We both had the roast beef and I have to say it was the best roast dinner we have ever had in a pub! Cooked to perfection, generous portions and the most amazing gravy... Puddings were fab too. Hats off to chef Lee, who is a lovely guy and very helpful too ;) Will definitely be coming back next time we are around. Highly recommend.

A beautiful pub, full of history & a must if you are in the area. We would give 6 stars for the seafood chowder, which is amazing. The food was great, but the service needs some fine tuning, with a long delay between courses & late notice of 1 dish not being available and wrong cutlery for the type of food. With this said, we would still return & are sure these small issues will be addressed. Highly recommended for food & atmosphere. Looking forward to sitting outside in the sun for future visits.

Wonderful friendly pub with a lovely lady on the bar. The lunch menu had lots of different cheesy chips, ciabatta, main meals and kids meals. We all had cheesy chips. Just what we were after after a long walk on the beach. Looks dark when you first walk in but a lovely bright room that you can eat and drink in at the back.

A hidden gem! Sunday roast beef was incredible, presentation made others around us gasp and food envy was very evident. The generous portions made us feel particularly spoiled. Every mouthful was a treat, the meat, the potatoes, the veg, the Yorkshire, the gravy, the purée the stuffing - excellent to the last mouthful.

Lovely Thatched pub, friendly staff and locals, good selection of beers and ciders and had a few glasses of their very nice Cabernet Sauvignon! We had homemade steak burgers and they were divine, I just couldn’t eat it all… would 100% recommend.
