Ok we have Come down on holiday to Cornwall from the (King land of fish and chips) camped out close to the shop we decided it was time to try the local food! Glad to say the fish and chips I had was Amazing must have been cooked in some kind of beef dripping rather than vegetable oil giving the chips and batter a deliciously morish flavour. Well that's Kents crown blown off completely 😳 The only downsides were waiting in the queue it was hot and was hard work waiting. Suggestion (Put a fan on the customers please) yes waiting time was as long as expected for such nice grub will definitely have to visit again before the week is over.

Edited and updated...from possibly the best chippy to the worst. Uncooked soggy chips, slimy fish which is definitely frozen an just mushes in your mouth. Don't bother asking for a jumbo sausage coz they can't be bothered will just fob you off with 2 smalls. Peas was nice an curry sauce lovely. Sadly I'm done with both branches of cousin jacks. Sorry guys Tbf if the dad is on your getting a decent meal...he still has passion for it

When I had fish and chips here for the first time. I loved it. Cooked in beef fat and not in veg oil makes such a difference. The fish is always great. The staff are always polite and helpful. I just keep going back for more.

Overpriced, overrated, £12 for a tiny portion of fish chips and curry sauce which will inevitably go right through you the next day

Arrived at 7.20pm, closes at 8pm, told there won't be any chips left after serving the people in front!!!

Always a joy to come here. Get chips, curry sauce and battered sausage atleast once every few weeks and they're always on point. Lovely staff and nothings a hassle. 10/10

Family favourite fish and chips for when we’re in the area. Sometimes there can be a long wait for food but it’s a testament to how nice the food is as it’s normally queuing out of the door. Try the chicken fillets you won’t be disappointed!

Great food never had a bad meal. Always Very helpful. Easy to find and parking outside. The only downside is they are popular and can have to queue at popular times. At 7pm I was served straight away.

Best fish and chips in the area, tried others too but none other matches it. There’s always a queue due to how good the food is and you need to turn up earlier in case they run out!

First of all, was disappointed with the menu, only 2 different pies. Sausages were tiny, chips (more like crisps) macdonalds fries have more potato in them. The curry sauce was dreadful, warmed up in the microwave & being a 'sauce' you'd think you'd be able to pour it over the chips, I actually turned the carton upside down & it didn't move! Ordered pie & chips & sausages & chips but when we got home there was only 1 portion of chips so had to share the potato less, crispy hard chips. Never go there again!

During my visit to Cousin Jack's, I found the overall experience to be quite disappointing. The quality of the fish and chips was subpar, with the fish being overcooked and lacking flavor. The chips were also greasy and undercooked, which took away from the enjoyment of the meal. Moreover, the service provided by the owner, Pete, was completely disgraceful. He appeared disinterested and inattentive, making us feel unwelcome. The lack of friendly customer service definitely left a negative impression.

Ordered at your new shop in Trelander. The chips were first class and the best that I have had from a chippy in a long time. But the fish was awful! It must have been left in the warmer for a very long time and was extremely dry. It was even tough along the edges, and definitely not what I would expect from a Cornish chippy with a good reputation. Very disappointing!

Read reviews so thought I’d give this place a go. Staff member took my order and she was pleasant enough, behind the counter there was also an older lady and young girl chatting to each other, a young lad with his head stuck in his phone. 4 more customers came in and every member of staff completely ignored them and just carried on talking to each other, even when I said how rude I thought they were! Rude doesn’t even come close to how ignorant they were tbh. Customers are the backbone of any business and deserve to be acknowledged, not completely ignored. Got food home, it was dry and definitely not fresh. Fish was dry, batter and the chips looked like they’d been sat for a couple of days and then reheated. Curry sauce was lukewarm and lumpy. Food and Staffs’ attitudes need serious improvement. Really have no idea where positive reviews have come from??!

I cannot emphasise this enough...This is an incredible chip shop! Always fresh, super crispy and fluffy chips and (I don't know how they do it) stays crispy! The fish is fantastic too ♥️ Highly highly recommend!!

Food was ok but not great. Also think the manager should have stopped the tall one with glass tattoo on the back of neck (north face hat) and a small girl with thin blonde hair from vaping in the prep area. But customer service was outstanding from the lady serving

What is with Cornish chippies advertising cod and chips and it's more like a battered fish finger for nearly a tenner , go out of Cornwall and you could get two pieces of fish and chips for that price , chips were terrible to

Over the last few visits portions of chips have got stingier and not worth the price. Lost a long standing customer with poor service as just not engaging or act like they care about their service . I'll post another review IF I go again at any point and the experience has improved however it's a very disappointing service currently. And puts football ahead of custom

Undoubtedly the best fish and chips on the planet. Every time I've ever had fish and chips elsewhere in the country the same sentiment springs to mind... Nice but not as good as Cousin Jack's. Absolutely without doubt the best fish and chips I've had in a very long time. Fish was beautifully cooked in batter but the chops were better brown crunchy enjoyed every one. Can't wait to go there again.

I'd have given 2.5 stars, but my wife said she'd rate it 2 stars because the oil had a strange taste to it. It looked good, but left us both feeling a little green about the gills afterwards. Needless to say we won't try it again and couldn't recommend it in good faith.

The best fish and chip shop I have ever experienced, absolutely love it. The best cooked chips, generous portions given with fresh and especially important to me, de-boned fish. Large menu to choose from as well. Great freindly staff who make it a pleasure to be there. Highly rate as my regular weekly treat!

Visited Cousin's while on holiday in the area Jan 2022. Absolutely wonderful Cod and chips. Batter on the fish was incredibly tasty, chips were ready well cooked and portions were very generous. Highly recommend.

Visited here in 2020 and the fish and chips were SO delicious I couldn't wait to go back again while on holiday this year. What a disappointment! The fish was greasy, tasteless and tiny and the chips weren't great either. Won't be going back in 2022!

Beware vegetarians: I enquired about how the vegetarian options are cooked, and was informed that unfortunately everything is cooked together in beef dripping so the menu is misleading because items that should be vegetarian most definitely are not.

Worst fish and chips me and family ever had, the fish I had was over cooked and was just basically batter very little fish, my partners fish was very soggy, the chips must of been cooked with the fish as they were covered in batter, the sausages very anemic One place to avoid
