Zacry's in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

A very good restaurant. We were very excited. From Newquay you can order taxis to Watergate. The restaurant is located directly on the beach. The view of the sea from the restaurant is great. The food too. There is a menu in the evening. A different menu at lunchtime. There is fresh fish every day. The wines from New Zealand and the cocktails are highly recommended.

We have only good words to say about Zacry's. Stunning and delicious food. We were surprised by every course which delivered incredible flavour and some first time tries for us with scallops and lions mane mushrooms. Really can't recommend enough. The staff were brilliant, friendly and attentive and loved being able to watch the kitchen from where we were sat. We ate as part of the swim and dine package which I would highly recommend.

Fantastic, is a word that in no way gives a good enough description for our eating experiance at this amazing beachfront restaurant. Firstly location: Hidden away on the coast with amazing views from every table, dine with a view. Tick! Service: Welcoming on arrival and seated promptly. Each and every member of staff had a smile and took the time to chat and make us both feel special.Tick! Food: The whole meal was of a very very high standard, also the open kitchen team need a round of applause for their hard work and output of such high quality food.Tick! Staff: We were looked after by a young lady with a love of the job she was doing. Very informative, helpful and always with a smile that made you know she was looking after your needs (well done whoever is in charge of training, first class staff are an asset to your business). Tick! How to cope during a crisis: During our meal the power grid went down and the team dealt with it very well, no problem that tills could not produce a bill, it was dealt with in a calm and professional manner and I believe all the food was delivered to customers. We called back the next day to pay, it was a pleasure. Tick! So to sum up, 5 ticks equals 5 stars. Well deserved, we will be visiting again for another masterclass in how to produce great food with excellent service and make another great memory. Well done Zacry's.

Easily one of the best meals I have had. The food was put together perfectly, along with tip top service and a view to die for.

Staff, setting and atmosphere were very good. The food was a huge disappointment, it really was awful! The only good thing we ate was the cheese board for pudding. So much potential for a wonderful evening, but the over priced, terrible food was a huge disappointment.

Just had diner very disappointed , lovely staff great service but The cuttlefish was dry and rubbery The pork chop absolutely dry and beans not nice at all .My sons vegan meal was ok not great at all and he left hungry and was not worth the money The wine was very nice but would not return Not worth the £250 price tag

My new Fiancé and I had a celebratory meal at Zacrys as we were staying at the Watergate Bay Hotel. The food was very delicious. Everything was very tasty and the service was impeccable. We’ll definitely return in the future for more special occasions.

Had dinner here one night, overall was very tasty however I think slightly on the pricey end. Food was high quality and generous portions (mains). Really enjoyed it and service was fab.

Excellent food and the best meal we've had in a long time! The potato gnocchi was divine and so was the hazelnut financier.. just really delicious and well thought out menu. Very happy!

Delicious food, great service, but also expensive

Worst meal in cornwall to date ! Service was appalling! They really need customer service training it was shocking the way the “manager” Kirsty spoke and treated us ! Where do we start Was seated and not served for 20 minutes. the food is over priced for the quality but it eneded in disappointment and a disaster! My mum almost cracked a tooth on the rhubarb and when pointed this out the first waiter issac said all our rhubarb like that its just a garnish really then out come kirsty the manger apparently 10 mins later no apology with a new plate of hard garnsih rhubarb and when my mum said she didnt want itshe said well thats up to you if you dont want it and its a garnish the menu attached clearly showed poached rhubarb a simple sorry would be enough but no she was passive aggressive Dont bother much nicer restaurants in cornwall for the price !

Nice food ruined by incredibly slow service.

Dinner Zacry's. Offering a locally sourced seasonal menu. Starters Cured ham / carrot remoulade / pickled golden raisins / wild rocket British asparagus / romesco sauce /toasted almond Mains Butter Poached black cod sweetcorn puree/wakame papaya slaw, candy peanuts Monkfish pakora spiced swede & coconut curry/ pak choi saffron rice. Desserts Dark chocolate mousse / brandy snap, amaretto cream / chemy gel. Passionfruit panna cotta These were three courses for £60pp. Which we thought was very good value. The monkfish was a very generous portion. The restaurant is stylish and relaxed. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We had a fairly early dinner here. It was so lovely. Our server Freya was incredibly attentive and kind. We ordered entirely too much food though! If you get the coursed dinner you do not need sides! We had the prawns. Octopus. Beets. For starters. They were all incredible. For entrees we had the roll brisket and the sea bass which were also wonderful but the stand out was the dessert. The profiterole…. Omg. It’s what espresso was made to create. Stunning.

We had a meal here as a party of 12 which included 4 children and dietary requirements for some of the group. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the setting was beautiful and the food was delicious. For those in our group with dietary requirements, the kitchen were very accommodating and ensured these meals were just as fantastic as everyone else's. It really was a lovely meal with beautifully presented plates and attention to detail. Would defiantly recommend a meal here

I had an absolutely wonderful dining experience her and the view and atmosphere just what I need. The food was fantastic and service on pint and very helpful when explaining certain dishes. Now, the cocktails were excellent and mixologist on top form. I will always have a meal here and recommend to others the other local restaurant to Watergate Bay Hotel are also very good too and let’s not forget the location, view and the great weather ☀️☀️

Cannot say enough amazing things about this restaurant! Everything was top-notch. Came here for my dad‘s 65th birthday and everyone had delicious meals and the service was excellent! This may be my new favorite restaurant in Newquay. Also have to add that unfortunately we had an incident at the end of the meal where my grandmothers husband fell and the hotel staff (Christina and Haley?) went above and beyond to care for him and make sure he got what he needed. So grateful to them for that! Thank you all for everything you did!

Not great. Pork belly was pub food standard to be honest. Didn't seem like much effort or imagination has gone into menu or preparation. Not much flavour considering the price

Fantastic flavours, and a varied menu to suit all. Service was beyond the normal - they even found some colouring books for the children - and very attentive and efficient. Good value as well given the quality of the food and drink.

Overall we were happy with our food, especially considering they took us in without a reservation at 9pm on a Saturday (BH weekend). However for £120 (only mentioning because it was a bit pricey for 2 people in our opinion but maybe not for others) we were a bit disappointed with the octopus which we had as a starter. It's meant to be grilled but ours was burned. Didn't mention it because we were happy with our experience overall. We also had the chicken and rocket salad which were both really good and the prawns were very tasty. Recommend the Vinho Verde 😊🥂

Came here on Saturday evening at 6.45, the restaurant had just started to pick up so it wasn’t overly busy. The service was okay, not the best for the price you pay although our server was lovely and he was relatively new. Our drinks orders took forever each time and were forgotten about so were another table’s and we were served the table next to us food. The actual food itself is delicious but I would say some of it is over priced for what you get. Overall I would say pretty average considering but happy that I got to tick it off my list!

So full set of the proper dinner experience, as you can see from the photos, the food was very well presented and amazingly delicious. You won't regret if you want a proper taste food for night. I will definitely come again to try different food from menu next time.

I usually hate cabbage, but the charred cabbage that came with what is quite likely the best pork chop I’ve ever eaten, was delicious. The food and the service here left nothing wanting. 100% recommend. And the little touch on my Wife’s dessert as they knew it was her birthday was the icing on the proverbial cake. (Lemon meringue in this case). Photo won’t upload - sorry.

We had an amazing dinner here as part of a recent stay at watergate bay. Honestly thought the food was stunning.

We have been to Zacry’s for quite a few special occasions over the last few years. We are always impressed with the food and service. I would highly recommend it to anyone!

Dined here twice during our stay and it was absolutely excellent. The staff were all friendly and attentive and menu options were varied - everything we had from starters to desserts were delicious: monkfish katsu curry and pork chops stood out. Would also be great if they added seedlip or something like martini vibrante to the drinks list to make some less sugary non-alcoholic alternatives.

Ate here as part of the taste of the bay deal at the hotel. After being told the restaurant was very busy that evening, we walked in and were able to choose our seats, it was that quiet. The food was good but poor service- waited half an hour for a drinks order to be taken. Told we had to order mains and starters at the same time, so had a longer wait than expected. The waitress was very forgetful, and only bought one drink over when we ordered two. We both ordered exactly the same dessert, and she also managed to get the ice cream flavours wrong. Overall a very average visit- why do restaurants also insist on filling up tables around other people. Was put off my meal with my new husband, by watching over other people’s children over webcam on iPad devices (a new service provided by Watergate hotel, another issue entirely!)

Not admitting children ( under 8) after 7:30pm...

Food is good service is a bit slow

We had our 16year anniversary meal at Zacry's, I cannot explain how good our experience was here! We've eaten in some very nice restaurants, and have been lucky enough to experience some amazing food. Our experience at Zacry's I would have to say has blown us away! From our booking right through to our leaving, the staff were so helpful, and welcoming, and engaging. It was a real joy to experience. Our food was breath taking. Portion sizes were absolutely perfect too. I cannot recommemd this place enough. Absolutely fantastic. Thank you, you guys really helped make our evening very special!

At here as a group on 05/02/19 Service was very good and attentive Starters were good and well received by all in the group I was a little disappointed with my main of monkfish katsu curry Whilst the flavours were good and vegetables were really fresh I found the size of fish too small It should be called monkfish finger curry as it was only slightly bigger than a fish finger I was not the only one who had the same issue in our group Puddings were nice although mine was a little salty and there was no mention of salted caramel on the menu Million $ question would I go back? At £40 for 3 courses I would probably try somewhere else as there are wealth of great restaurants within Newquay and surrounding areas that are priced the same

A truly wonderful place. We had the best evening imaginable. Food was amazing, decor is beautiful and the scenery breathtaking. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, and really helped to make our anniversary one to remember. Nothing was too much of a problem and there were always smiles on their faces. I didn't get names but they were all fantastic! If you're in the area, go here! It's lovely.

Went last night for our granddaughters 21st Birthday. Absolutely amazing food. Everything cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere and brilliant staff. A must if you are visiting Cornwall. Will be back again at the earliest opportunity.

The best steak I've ever had. Maybe it was the company, maybe it was the holiday. It was a few years ago. Shared platter of steak was special on the menu that night. The sauce was amazing and the meal in overall was superb. It was super expensive, but I've yet to taste a better steak from anywhere. Jamie's was booked out, and I'm glad it was! Otherwise I would have missed this place.
