Always quality food its the best place in Newquay we try and go once a week when possible! Give it a try ! We only go for lunch but will start going for steak nite heard it’s amazing!

Sorry,but it needs saying your food is fantastic, have eaten here numerous times,but my last visit was awful, the outside space that you have under canopy is absolutely dirty with bits of food on the floor, dog hairs stuck on the decking,the chairs are filthy, my coat on the chair was covered in dog hair. I understand your always full inside,but the outside should be as clean as the inside,as we are paying the same prices..please,please keep outside space cleaner....

Myself and a friend decided to pop here for an unexpected lunch. The location is superb, staff were lovely and the food was good value for money. Good size portions too. My one and only complaint…… I ordered a jacket potato with goats cheese and roasted vegetables. The potato and cheese was lovely but the veg was swimming in oil. I’d have rather had a simple side salad. I am sure I could have requested this so only have myself to blame. I will definitely be going back in the near future! My friends Ciabatta with pulled pork looked lovely and she really enjoyed it.

The go-to place when we use Trenace Park, the cream tea and cakes are great they are more than a Cafe, and the staff especially Elle always has a welcoming smile. They have a varied menu and nighttime specials.

Great food. We are a mixed group, which includes 2 vegetarians, 1 fussy teenager and a 6'2" 17 year old rugby player. All were happy with their food and left completely stuffed. Definitely leave room for pudding!

Stopped today for cup of tea and a slice of cake. I was not disappointed, a huge pot of tea and a slice of Victoria sponge cake - both of which were delicious. Staff were warm and friendly and I will be back next year!

We only ordered 2 pots of tea, so I can't comment on cakes or meals. The staff were polite, and it was a lovely pot of tea, which we got 3 cups from, and it was very reasonably priced. Lovely views of the park from the café.

Cuppa and a cake. Ice creams. Seemed to be good meals to be had. Staff attentive without being overbearing. Lovely spot.

Called in by chance as used before, just prior to lunch and managed to find a table for us , we were at end breakfast session and just before lunch session which starts at 12:00 Very friendly and helpful staff Drinks and water ordered, and short while later food orders taken My mushroom spinach penne pasta was super, and my wife’s goat cheese and root roasted vegetables and jacket potato was really nice We had dessert to follow, steamed pudding and custard my wife would have liked a slighter larger piece, but enjoyed, and my lemon cheesecake with lemon ice cream was tasty Great spot by the lake Prices very good but as title very busy and to save being disappointed suggest book your table

Stoped off here after looking around the gardens, also waiting for the land train to turn up. Cheese scones were lovely and had cheesy chips which was also yummy. I loved the Raspberry Lemonade!

Delicious food. Our steaks were cooked exactly as we like them. Friendly professional staff. Great atmosphere, did not feel like a 'daytime cafe'.

We stumbled across lakeside when we were on our way to the zoo. Our daughter really needed the toilet, and even though they didn’t open for another 15 min they let us in so she could use it. The breakfast was one of the best breakfasts I’ve had! Very tasty and cooked very very well, and there was a big selection to choose from. The staff were really nice

Dined here last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We both chose the rump steak with mushroom sauce and it was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection . We even managed to squeeze in a cheesecake each . Thank you for a great experience with great service. We will return!

Booked an evening meal for family and friends to celebrate a 70th birthday. The staff were more than welcoming and the choice of food coupled with the specials menu meant everyone was more than happy. We dropped off a cake, banners and balloons prior to everyone arriving and the table was decorated for the evening. Would definitely recommend the Lakeside for an informal evening dinner. A superb evening was had by all. Ann & Ken.

Absolutely beautiful evening meal, well priced, lovely service and delicious food. Fish and chips offer at£11.50 and I had delicious beef dish. All food looked amazing and definitely will be back for more. Highly recommend.

Staff here know how to run a lovely cafe. We visit usually once a week (weather dependant) for a coffee and cake with our pup (sometimes its just me to get my coffee fix!) The cakes are always delicious and my partner is obsessed with the brownie! Our pup Teddy always gets a hello and a welcome treat...sometimes even two when the coffee is brought out! Spoilt ♥️ 🐾 The coffee here is just my favourite! It's so delicious and if wasn't for the heart palpitations I'd get I'd sit and drink them all day! Welcoming staff, nice atmosphere. We went on " pie night", and although the chicken and ham pie was absolutely packed with chicken, the pastry was a real let down.Puff pastry that was literally just air!! The sticky toffe pudding was delicious though.

Like many we’ve been coming to Newquay for years but this was our first visit . How have we not been before ?! Such a lovely setting . We went for breakfast and only just made it as they stop serving it at 10.45. We all had a full English , bacon was top quality. It’s a very busy place ( it was Saturday morning ) they could prob do with an extra person serving as there was only one young lady who was doing a great job and seemed super organised …. well done to her :) . We will definitely be back next time we visit Newquay for the cakes which looked amazing and I’d like to try their evening menu .

I can’t believe that this is my first visit to Lakeside cafe! Having walked past it many times, it had always looked enticing as a coffee stop; what I hadn’t realized is that in the evenings it turns into a cozy restaurant serving the most delicious food. I visited with my work friends and we chose from the Christmas menu. There was something for everyone and the quality of both the food and service meant we had a lovely evening. Highly recommended, but do book in advance to avoid disappointment!

Great cafe been lots of times, welcoming staff, best to book a table especially in the tourist season. Great food previously had breakfast and launch here. Nice views what more could you ask for.

He comido aquí varias veces y seguirá! Este es mi lugar favorito de todos los tiempos mi ir y comer. El personal era muy educado. Gran tamaño de las porciones y la comida muy animada. La última vez había cuñas de queso brie y eran para morirse! ! Precioso entorno/ubicación y es realmente agradable que establezca la Mesa con decoraciones para una ocasión si lo solicita. Esta es la primera vez que había estado en este lugar y terminó allí por suerte como Cafe Newquay zoo estaba cerrado. Debo admitir que no hay mucho que ver desde el exterior, pero la comida era excepcional.Incluso mi hijo pequeño que en 2 1 / 2 puede ser bastante difícil cuando se trata de comida, comí un plato de toda pasta penne con salsa de crema con tocino. Tuve un bocadillo riquísimo jamón jamón generoso con una generosa ensalada preparada y mi marido tenía un rollo; cerdo desmenuzado que disfrutamos muchísimo.Me olvidé de pedir patatas fritas y por lo tanto cuando la comida llegó, lo cual no fue un problema y sólo tarda un par de minutos en llegar; eran realmente muy bien preparado y por una vez tenía la pieles.En general un gran lugar y a pesar del aspecto exterior, un gran interior con una estufa de leña. También perros!

Como ya se mencionó antes, he estado aquí varias veces, nunca cambia, siempre excelente. Gran selección de menú y esta vez un poco de ambiente chrismassy también. La comida es de alto nivel y bien presentado.Necesitan llenar más de lo mismo cervezas lo contrario tener variedades diferentes, pero no es un gran problema.

Fuimos allí la última noche para el personal de fiesta de Navidad. Dios mío, la comida era fantástica. Tuve la remolacha de arranque y la Turquía como principal luego de queso a seguir. Mi plato era uno de los mejores que he tenido. El pavo era preciosa y abundante, con una buena selección de verduras frescas. La tabla de quesos era enorme con cornish azul, cheddar y un precioso Davidstow brie servidos con un montón de galletas saladas y un fabuloso chutney. El personal no podría haber sido mejor. Hermoso entorno. 110% lo recomendaría.

Aunque la fachada externa del café no es estimulante la comida, por otra parte, es excepcional. Disfruté de un plato principal de Kalahari simplemente delicioso, el mejor que he probado nunca!Los otros en nuestro grupo todos alabaron la opciones que me hicieron.Lo recomiendo.Peter

As it's name suggests, the restaurant overlooks a pleasant lake. You can watch people feeding the ducks and geese while you eat. Food and service were both very good.( and you can buy food for the ducks too ).

Estoy seguro de que sirve a un grupo de 10 en un momento, no es fácil, especialmente entre un servicio de almuerzo ya ocupado, pero la cocina ha conseguido este y salió con una fantástica comida de su menú de Navidad. Nos pedidos pero entre nosotros teníamos una desafiante mezcla de sopa Parsnip, Langostinos Coco y pato croquetas como entrantes, seguido por una combinación de Merluza asado, Pavo asado, cerdo asado y lento - estofado de carne, las que fueron totalmente fantástica. Servicio sonriente super y comida fabulosa - una combinación ganadora que ofrece una increíble relación calidad-precio para nuestro grupo de difícil de complacer, bien críticos gastronómicos. Bien hecho y gracias a todos los implicados en el lago! ¡Genial!

Fuimos a comer y elegimos este café ya que teníamos un perro pequeño con nosotros y pudimos llevarlo dentro (hacía demasiado frío para comer fuera). Elegimos una hora muy concurrida, así que tuvimos que esperar un poco. La comida era muy buena, el tamaño de las porciones eran grandes. Yo sólo había estado aquí antes, café y quedé muy impresionado por la calidad de la comida. Buena Mesa con vistas al lago. Sin duda volveremos.

Una amplia fachada acristalada con vistas al estanque de los patos, lo hace un lugar muy agradable para un desayuno relajado. El café es excelente y buenos precios y se ha convertido en uno de nuestros lugares de café. Muchos niños pequeños y perros alrededor, así que no vayas si eres alérgico a cualquiera de ellas.

Disfrutamos de una fantástica comida en una visita improvisada. Al frente de la casa era realmente amable. Ambos tuvimos una tartas abierto. Uno de cordero y uno de pescado, sin embargo la realidad era tanto un estofado de cordero y estofado de pescado con cristales repostería añadida. Aún fantástica y volveremos sin duda. Gracias.

Estuve con un grupo de amigos para una celebración. Te preparan la mesa con decoraciones especiales, etc. Bonito detalle. Tuve la sal y la pimienta de calamar para empezar que eran deliciosas, para algunos pasteles de cangrejo principal increíble, la mejor que he comido y para el postre la pannacotta, que de nuevo fue perfecto. Nadie en nuestra mesa tenía quejas con la comida en absoluto y estábamos a unos 10. La lista de vinos es justo después de haber ordenado la Rioja, que fue una gran elección.

Hemos revisado Lakeside antes y comido aquí varias veces. Nunca hemos encontrado fallo antes. Esta noche nuestra reserva era de 8:30 de la tarde. Las bebidas y los aperitivos llegó rápidamente y eran excelentes. Los platos principales también estaban bien, aunque la tortilla que acompañe el pollo estaba un poco seco y pesado y los fideos carecía de las especias. Pedimos el postre, pero no llega y la camarera de nuestra mesa aclararon vasos. ¡casi nos, pero finalmente nos emitió una disculpa y dado los postres gratis. Ese era el campo de acción y nos correcta aceptadas y remito el error. Hay un par de cosas que creo que es importante mencionar. Madre mía en la masculina está roto y necesita atención. . . . Y una cosa más. Junto al lago. . . . Si vas a aceptar reservas en 8:30 pm, por favor no barrer el piso y poner todo de distancia alrededor de los huéspedes que todavía comer. Es muy antipática y nos hace sentir como prisa. En general, creo que el nivel está bajando un poco.

Fuimos como tres adultos y tres niños, y su bebé. No hay problema, bebé cochecito complaciente vestuario. Buen servicio. Suficiente comida decente. Platos principales alrededor de £8. Total para 3 adultos, 3 niños platos principales preparado, 2 postres, tres barras de chocolate como postres y bebidas para niños 50 libras. Volvería de nuevo.

Estado viniendo aquí durante años! Nunca pensé a revisar. Se llena en verano, así que no voy a menudo, pero una vez que los turistas han ido ahí. La comida es muy buena con un menú que cambia y nunca nos ha decepcionado con el desayuno, el almuerzo o la cena. Tienen también tenía un almuerzo con compañeros de trabajo y no queremos volver a trabajar. La cafetería tiene un ambiente muy relajado, limpio y ordenado, con un personal amable y eficiente. Preciosas vistas sobre el lago con botes, y los diversos patos etc. En invierno que el quemador de madera ligera, así que es muy agradable para sentarse con un té o café, además de menaje para preparar té y tostadas llegó o leer los periódicos. Fabuloso! !

Visitamos aquí para el almuerzo como parte de las celebraciones de cumpleaños de mi esposa y no me decepcionó, a un sándwich en el almuerzo, teníamos queso y ensalada con mermelada de cebolla roja en cada pan puerta relish y estaba delicioso. Las raciones eran geniales por el precio de 4 libras. 50 Así una muy buena relación calidad-precio comparado con otros establecimientos que utilizan pan fino con aproximadamente un tercio de la abundante y £1. 00 más en el precio. Sólo perdí un punto porque algunas de las hojas de ensalada en la mina eran marrón seco y, a ser un unchewable poco exigente y, en general, fue una experiencia muy agradable. Estoy tratando una cena pronto para mi cumpleaños y si es la mitad de bueno que este estará encantado. Bien hecho junto al lago, tenemos derecho. Pruébelo y verá. Altamente recomendado.

Been to lakeside many of times because i absolutely love it! Went with my mum this time the staff were friendly we ordered the hake goujons and mussels to start which was the highlight, great atmosphere wine is really nice and i love the choice on the special boards our starters and mains were all ordered off that. If your looking for great food reasonably priced I'd highly recommended!

Delicious food at great prices. Excellent service and a place to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. Located next to Newquay lake makes it an ideal spot for a family day out. Can highly recommend.

You cannot please all of the people all of the time! It is a shame that some reviewers appear to have had a less than perfect time. We, on the other hand, are one the manyvery satisfied couples who go to Lakeside on occasions, just by ourselves or with friends. Looking at the Lakeside across the pretty boating lake and gardens, belies what is inside. They do very good lunches but at night the food and service is quite simply brilliant. They do not fall into the trap many restaurants have done, ie, capitalizing on their reputation and cramming in too many tables. Consequently the service falls down and so does the reputation. Tables are tastefully decorated without being ornate, seats are comfortable and staff are friendly and efficient. There is an ordinary menu but a good list of specials.A return visit is assured.

I am reluctant to write a review because I want to be able to get a table in the future. To look at Lakeside across the boating lake it looks like a typical municipal park cafe. Don't be fooled. If you look for the menu on line and find a very limited choice again don't be put off. The seating is comfortable and not over stated but should you have a special celebration your table will reflect it. The chef special board is extensive with some unusual and tempting dishes, we ate exclusively from it. The servings are generous and perfectly cooked. Service is excellent, I don't know how the two girls did it but everything was hot, on time and they were always available when you needed anything extra.I know I'm going to regret this but if you are staying anywhere in the Newquay area you must try it.

Lovely restaurant overlooking the picturesque lake . Our table had been finely decorated with added detail of streamers and glittery stars. Highchair already in place with colouring books and crayons for our Granddaughter. The staff were very attentive and our food was superb . Will definitely re-visit this gem in the near future.

Following my last visit for lunch when I ordered a lamb hotspot and was given what could only be described as left overs from the Sunday roast the day before we decided to not return. However a family member booked the Lakeside again for a get together. Willing yo give it another go we booked s table for 7.30. We ordered our meal promptly which arrived at 8:45. The place was busy but only had two waitresses who were run off their feet. They only had one bottle of the beer left which one of the party were drinking and so he had to switch then to another brand only to be hold after that bottle that they had sold out of that brand. Food ok. Come on Lakeside shape up your standards are slipping.

Waiting to long for food and drink.only a few bottles of ale in fridge that ran out by 9:00, only 2 waiters on overworked. Food when we got it was good.

Popped in for a drink and a snack with my husband and two children, and we are very impressed. The cafe was clean and comfortable, the view was beautiful and their dog friendly policy meant that we got to say hello to some lovely pooches. The staff were friendly and helpful, and despite being quite busy, we received great service and felt very welcome. Prices are very reasonable, and the food and drink we had were very nice. A new favorite for us!

Staff very friendly.Ordered hot smoked salmon salad with horseradish, this was nice. Kids had garlic bread which was ok. My youngest had chicken pieces and chips, chicken was homemade and lovely, chips disappointing as frozen not homemade. My eldest ordered chicken on a Spanish tortilla with chick peas in chorizo and tomato with garlic allioli this was lovely. I ordered hake with crab and mussels, with a lovely selection of fresh vegetables, was really nice. My husband ordered the Thai fish cakes which unfortunately he didn't enjoy. The kids Had an ice cream and cheesecake with was also very good,Had one round of drinks inc large red wine, 2 cokes and a j20 bill came to £70. Bit pricey.

Arrived at lakeside cafe hoping for some gluten free/ dairy free food! and i was amazingly surprised when the lady showed me that they had either gluten free vegan cupcakes and a chocolate cake! I had the chocolate cake and it tasted lovely, definitely coming back when in Newquay again!

Great setting for breakfast, lunch or dinner ... all of which are served here. Has a "cafe" vibe during the day but transforms in the evening to an elegant, sophisticated dining space to match it's evening menu.My friend had the slow cooked belly of pork and I had cod with a sauce, from the specials board. Both were big portions and both were enjoyed.Mine could have been a bit hotter if I'm honest but I was starving and in deep conversation when it came so I didn't feel like disrupting the flow ... it wasn't luke warm, just not piping hot and there were only two other diners when we arrived.The service was professional and pleasant if a little detached.One little gripe is that I 'phoned to book and asked if 7.30pm was OK?I was "encouraged",well told ... to make it 7.15pm as they had a party of 12 at 7.30pm. Fair enough.Except that the party of 12 didn't even start arriving until at least 8pm, maybe later and it was at least 8.30pm before they were all seated.I am happy to avoid clashing times with a big party for obvious reasons but there's no point telling me they are booked for 7.30pm when I am there to witness them sitting down at least an hour later.I think the service could be a little more genuine one way and another, but all in all it was a very nice meal in a very nice setting. I would go there again ... and hope to be able to ascertain how consistent both food and service are.Jury is still a little bit out in truth ... just a little bit.

Staff very helpful and polite. Very clean cafe. The food was fantastic. I would recommend that if you have the children's chicken nuggets and you have two children to have one between them as they are big. The prices where fairly reasonable. I will definitely go again when I am down in Newquay again on holiday.

For a special evening go here. This is our fourth annual visit. We have family in Newquay and came here 4 yrs ago for a treat and have returned every year. The menu is amazing, the food superb, the service impeccable -cannot fault this place. I wish I lived nearer! Beautifully presented plates, tables...could gush on but stop reading this now and BOOK A TABLE!

Telephoned. I asked if they did breakfast. Told yes. I asked if I needed to book. Told No. Is it busy on Thursday? Told no. Asked what time is breakfast. Politely told 'we are busy' and phone left open (placed down on counter?). I assumed she would be back to deal with me ASAP to answer my final question so I waited ...... and waited ...... and waited ..... heard conversations and the echoing hubbub in the background ..... and waited. Finally realised I had been forgotten/ignored/fobbed off.I hung up feeling like a fool.Our conversation lasted 15 seconds.I waited for answer to my fourth question for over 5 minutes.POOR service. Either do not answer phone if you are too busy OR, politely tell me you are too busy to deal with my enquiry and ASK ME TO CALL BACK.SIMPLE!

Lovely stop for lunch. Hake goujons for me and pasta with a lovely sauce for my husband. Perfect! Lovely staff as well. Thanks

Lovely place, gave us a lovely table overlooking the water with ducks etc, met up with old friends, enjoyed a lovely lunch with them.no rush to vacate the table, a great selection of food to eat, and reasonable too. lovely staff, nice and clean cafe.

Always have at least one evening meal in the Lakeside when in Newquay. Tonight wonderful prawn cocktail, steak and cheesecake what an amazing taste sensation. You will not get better food anywhere and the waitresses are polite and good fun too. Looking forward to next time.

Came to lakeside cafe for lunch with my partner and we thought it was one of the best lunches we have ever had, I had the Mediterranean with goats cheese and pesto flatbread and my partner a jacket potato, both of which were very good quality and priced very well! Great for if you just want coffee too, served with a smile and lovely FOH and kitchen staff! Can't wait to go back here.

Revisited this again as normally do when in Newquay, was a week day evening but only 8 of us in. Do not feel this is as good as it was, not good for people with dairy intolerances as nearly all dishes had some in. Choice not as good food was nice but not exceptional as it was a couple of years ago. Friendly staff, food well presented.

We have been here several times for coffee in the daytime, it is usually packed with Mums and babies. There never seems to be enough staff on in the day so you have to wait ages for coffee which is a shame. However in the evening it is fantastic, amazing food, great service and a lovely atmosphere.

Was recommend by my cousin. We arrived to a pleasant welcome and our table was ready. Standard menu was great but also the specials menu looked good! Starter was the prawn and onion with cured salmon and crab pate. It's was very good and tasted great. Pork belly was amazing best I have had in a long time. Would defiantly eat there again when I'm back seeing my relatives.

You always know when the local people use a cafe that you are certain to get good value for money.Excellent food,spotlessly clean inside and out,good friendly service,we will certainly visit Lakeside Cafe again and again.

What a lovely place for lunch,right next to the lake, food all cooked to order,and if it's a birthday etc they push the boat out for you

We came across this little cafe/restaurant after parking up ready to go for a wander nearby and needed a spot of lunch. When we entered it was very busy with only 1 table free, all a good atmosphere with plenty of groups, couples and families in. The waitress was very helpful and honest letting us know there would be approx. Half hour wait on food. The menu choice was spot on, not too much on offer but excellent all the same and more than filling! We had the lunch offerings, sandwiches etc but they were beautiful. Would definitely go back and would highly recommend if anyone's in the area. The lake and park it overlooks as well is lovely!

I have visited the restaurant on a number of occasions in the past and have found that they are constantly under staffed and that it takes a very long time to get served. I left without ordering on the occasion before this visit after waiting to be even acknowledged by the staff member on duty at the time in 40 minutes. I have also found that there is always something on the menu that they do not have. For these reasons I had not been back to Lakeside for over a year until last nights visit due to it being a family party organised by a relative.I had hoped that things may have changed... But they haven't! The evening started by being told what dishes they did not have along with a dish they only had one serving left of. This is fine and we all ordered only for the waitress to return 10 minutes later to tell us that one of the dishes we ordered also wasn't available meaning a member of our party had to reorder. We also had a bottle of wine for the table and when wishing to order another bottle later on in the evening guess what.... They didn't have another bottle of that particular wine! I have no idea how they are still operating as they clearly struggle to manage even basic items of stock.On a final note... If you a vegetarian as a member of our party was... Forget it! A single, bland, flavourless pasta dish is all that has ever been on the menu since the day they opened.If I have a choice I won't be going back as there are many fantastic options for dining locally.

We had a pleasant lunch, we did not book so had to sit at a small coffee table, our own fault for not booking as they are a popular place. The food was good as always my Pulled Pork was very tasty and they were happy to do fresh bread for my elderly father rather than toast with his pate [which was delicious] the lunch was slightly marred by the fact they were short staffed and every time I went to the counter to order anything the lady was busy [very nice but busy] and I had to wait sometimes for a long time, the other thing that was slightly off putting was the tables were not cleaned promptly after people had left particularly annoying when you see the seagulls feeding off them. The Lakeside is a nice cafe in a lovely spot but perhaps more staff during peak times would be a good.
