I must say we were really looking forward to eating there. We stayed In Newquay for 4 nights and this was going to be our last meal . Website looks amazing and we just wanted to have a good BBQstyle Meal . When we got there on 30th August it was about 5:30 pm , Friday evening . We were told our table Was ready , when we got to the table was dirty and sticky and waitresses were surprised to learn about that. Restaurant was very quiet and looked dirty. We should have left at that point but have decided to give it a benefit of a doubt. Ordered our starter and mains. Started arrived so quick almost like it came out of microwave . Quality was poor and mine was cold. Main we had Meals From the smoker apparently but I think going to Wetherspoons would have been better . Also main arrived on cheap stainless steel trays which were very uncomfortable to eat from and not very nice experience.

Ate here for the first time on Friday evening as it was my Mums 80th. We both had the crispy beef to start followed by the Monkfish stack. We both loved it and the service from a young girl (blonde girl) was superb. Both had couple of cocktails with the June Bug being my Mums favourite

The cocktails here are amazing(cola bottle) and that nacho portion was outstanding definitely a sharer, the staff were friendly and efficient .

love the atmosphere, very intimate. staff are lovely and extremely attentive i think regarding the other reviews people just ask too much when it’s considerably busy. the food was almost a 5/5 but the brisket was pretty dry and a small potion compared to most of the other meals. the cocktails are wonderful and quite a large selection. overall would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Down for two weeks on holiday seeing friends and been recommend to eat here. I am so glad I did. The food was amazing, service also amazing. Couldn't help us enough in deciding which meals to choose & were very attentive throughout our visit. Will be coming again before I head back home to wales.

Great cocktails, staff were chill

Food we were here served can only be described as terrible. Would have given a 1 for the food except the staff were friendly so upgraded to a generous 2. I ordered the southern fried monkfish stack which arrived with a soggy bun and water literally dripping from it. Not very appetising. The stack was mainly bap and lettuce. I have to confess the mash was tasty although doesn’t look very appealing. I never tried the coleslaw as looked like it had been sitting out all day. The kids crispy nuggets is more like 5 pieces of popcorn chicken. Son had eaten them all in under a minute. He also enjoyed the mash to be fair. Service was ok but nothing special. As mentioned, the staff were pleasant enough. Wasn’t busy so no excuse for serving poor food. You don’t go to a restaurant to enjoy a small bowl of mash. Very unsatisfying experience in general.

Very disappointed with food quality and portions its supposed to be a American style steakhouse grill but doing bistro style food ive been 4times before and enjoyed it have changed for the worst my ribs was fat and bone not much bigger than a cream cracker over priced

We came to this place in 2021 and had the best meal we've ever had so we returned while on holiday in 2024 and they did not disappoint the texas 24hr beef brisket meal is absolutely banging as are the burgers top top quality food trust me on the sun screen.

During our recent visit to Newquay, Cornwall, we had the pleasure of dining at Rebellion Restaurant, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience for our family. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly and polite staff, who made us feel right at home. It's clear that a lot of thought has gone into making the space comfortable and appealing for all ages. As for the food, it was nothing short of excellent. We ordered a variety of dishes, including a classic burger and fries, succulent beef brisket, and deliciously tender pork belly. Each dish was cooked to perfection, with flavours that were rich and satisfying. The burger was juicy and well-seasoned, paired with crispy fries that were impossible to resist. The beef brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender, with a smoky flavour that highlighted the quality of the meat. The pork belly was equally impressive, with a perfect balance of crispy skin and tender, flavourful meat. The service was exemplary throughout our meal. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that we had everything we needed while allowing us to enjoy our meal at our own pace. They were especially accommodating to our young family, making sure that everyone felt comfortable and well taken care of. Overall, we left Rebellion Restaurant very satisfied and with full bellies. We had a great experience here. We were a little worried due to some reviews but the food was great and staff were attentive. My only criticism would be about the cocktails, they looked lovely but perhaps not the best quality.

First time at rebellion in newquay despite being a local! So glad we decided to try some where new rather than our usual spots. ☺️ For starters I had the crispy beef which I'd never tried before and my partner had the hallumi. They were both very nice, but I personally struggled to eat all the crispy beef as was quite a large portion. For mains, I had the steak and my partner and the burger. I was very happy and impressed with my steak, perfectly medium rare!😋 and my partner loved his pulled pork burger, flavours on point! The service was a good, and the waitresses were lovely. Unfortunately the table next to us were quite grumpy and rude to the waitress always finding a problem with something, which resulted in them pointing at and talking about my food. Which made me quite uncomfortable. However the waitress did apologise even though their behaviour was not her fault, and we made light of it. We are definitely coming back, when silly season is over 😂

Great food. Well enjoyed. Grand daughter loved the beans with pork in them. She was given an extra portion.

This review is really frustrating for me to write, because I really wanted to like this place. I came here with my family for dinner, booking a table here is fairly easy and it does get quite packed so it’s well recommended if you wanna avoid disappointment. We were seated at our table, and we ordered our drinks as well as our mains. Now fair enough the restaurant was fairly busy, but that is no excuse for making mistakes such as bringing the wrong drinks or forgetting our order, meaning we had to order our drinks and our entire starters and mains all over again. And it doesn’t seem like this was an isolated incident with us, as I heard another table nearby us was complaining to one of the staff members, who I will give credit to was very professional about the criticism. Once our food arrived, the starters were nice, item such as the fried pickles and the squid bites are nice appetisers that will get you prepped up for your main without filling you up before you eat it! However, the mains I’m sorry to say are average at best. I ordered a chicken snack burger which was smothered in oil, I mean I took one bite of it and the oil practically started pouring out. Makes eating it a very messy affair. Also for the money you spend on them, the quality you get I’m sorry to say, I just don’t think it equates to it. I didn’t order an alcoholic drink, but my relatives who did say they were nice and they are admittedly worth the money you spend on them. Atmosphere wise it’s nice in there, it’s like a proper steakhouse vibe so on that point they’ve got spot on. But I feel like the staff in there aren’t supported as much as it’s clear they seemed kind of overwhelmed by the busyness of the restaurant, which probably led to the mistakes that happened that night. I would hope to one-day visit this place again, because I really did want to like this place, and the service wasn’t that bad it just needs a bit of work.

The steak was lovely. The brisket needed a steak knife to eat properly as it was a bit stringy. The fried pickles are surprisingly tasty. The cocktails are excellent. The service was also fantastic. I would recommend and eat there again.

This place is awesome! Really tasty food and very accommodating for our allergies. The chef made adaptations to make my Kids food Gluten-free and my Pork belly was on the the Gluten-free menu. The food arrived quickly and the waitress was helpful and attentive. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a fantastic meal. Also there is a parking 1 minute walk on Albany Road, free after 4pm.

We started with cocktails and they were incredible, although it was very difficult to pick from as every one sounded amazing. . The beef brisket was difficult to even pick up as it was so perfectly cooked. The mash was out of this world and the crispy onions added so much more to them. Words cannot do justice to the bbq gravy. My partner had the bbq monkfish and fries. The fries were crisp and delicious and unfortunately, some of these made their way onto my plate! The monkfish fell apart and was soon demolished. The baked cheesecake was so sweet and a perfect way to end a perfect dining experience. The staff were attentive but not intrusive and made us feel very welcome.

Only came in for a quick burger! The food was delicious. Especially the sauce on the patty! The atmosphere was great, and the servers were more than helpful, providing iced water with lemon in a nice glass and a takeaway box for my leftovers. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a nice evening meal!

The beef brisket was tender and delicious, but the rest of the dish needs to improve. The slaw was tiny, about a spoonful. Only one pickle was included and some rockets. There were free seats and tables but the staff was too keen to take our dishes away and bring us the cheque!

I went there thinking about Itaewon Low & Slow, but the sauce tasted similar but not too sweet. I ordered brisket for 24 hours and it was soft yet choking?? It tasted healthy. The French fries were thick and delicious, and the fried squid on the starter menu was also delicious!! There was a pretty female server who served us kindly, and the male server also checked on us from time to time and the service was very good♡ I love you Newki♡

In Newquay for a few days. This place was amazing. Great atmosphere. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was delicious. I had the brisket and it was just falling apart. The gravy was amazing. You really need to open a restaurant in South Wales now

second time I’ve been there and noone even cares to come and take our order. wat below what you are expecting from this price tag.

My friends and I all met through working in a restaurant, so every few months we meet up and try somewhere new for dinner. We arrived at 8pm and ordered 20 mins later but felt a bit rushed as the waitress was hovering over us telling us the kitchen closes at 9. I’d been recommended by a coworker as we had decided to try Newquay for a change and they said they had a superb menu and cocktail list - we love a good cocktail so we’re very keen! I chose a Bloody Mary as it’s my fav and the menu looked like they knew what they were doing - only for a mug with ice, vodka and tomato juice with a dodgy bit of lemon poking out of the top of it! I mentioned to the waitress that I thought it wasn’t quite right so she took back up to the bar and then brought it right back and said that’s how it was served and they didn’t have any garnishes for it. I was obviously displeased so she suggested I order a ‘Zombie’ next and then walked off! Decided I was lumbered with this and took a sip to discover it was overly spiced and tasted disgusting so just drank a glass of water with my meal. Luckily my friends had passable cocktails but they were all fruity with pretty garnishes which made mine look even more drab in comparison. The food might I add, was blimming incredible! The buttermilk chicken burger with fries and slaw and all the sauces was delicious and well cooked, the lamb burger was to die for and my friend who’d had a big lunch had a pudding of cheese cake which she was going on about for ages! We all agreed it was worth it just for the food! Towards the end of our meal the waitress popped up repeatedly again, asking if we were done and then started clearing my plate away whilst I was still chewing!! We tried to see the funny side but honestly I’ve never experienced anything like it! We were then left for a while whilst the waitresses gossiped in the corner which was kind of weird considering how quickly they wanted us cleared out. We asked for the bill and then were told we were ‘clever’ for being able to work out our own individual bills by the waitress, which we didn’t really find funny and actually found kind of rude and condescending. We ended up going up to the till to have the waitress then point out for each of our transactions the option of adding a gratuity, with a big grin and hopefully smile. We all declined. Having worked in hospitality we all carry £5 -£10 in cash each, as a standard tip and had expected to have more than one cocktail or more puds but the service made us feel like we weren’t welcome. This was the first time not one of us wanted to leave a tip. And the moody face the waitress pulled when she saw each of us decline tipping only made us less willing to leave something, which was a such a shame as the food really was phenomenal. My apologies to the chefs.

Wow. Amazing food. Lovely staff. Great cocktails. Definitely worth a visit. I had the Pork Belly. The crackling was to perfect. The meal so tasty. Photos don't give the food justice, that I've loaded, but thought would share. The Thai sauce was divine.

We were in Newquay for 5 days and we visited Rebellion for 2 of those. Staff were extremely welcoming and pleasant. The food was absolutely delicious on both occasions. I had char su pork belly and my partner had a chowder special, and smoked sausage. Our plates were cleared. Highly recommended.

Ate here for my parents 50th wedding anniversary. Staff were all fantastic and couldn't be more helpful if they tried. My son is coeliac and this was no problem for them. If we return to Newquay then we will definitely be back 🙂

Pleasant atmosphere, good service and traditional Guinness to accompany it. We opted for the Sirloin Steak and Smoked Pulled Pork accompanied by potatoes. Both dishes were very good and were well served. The menu features several meat options. A good option in Newquay.

10 minutes waiting to be seated then waited 20 minutes and finally got up and left, didn't get offered a drink was told it was table service the menu looked good and the food going out looked good but couldn't tell you how it tatsed if you seat someone standard practice is to ask if they would like a drink not just walk away also they wasn't busy so God help them when they are.

I recently ate at rebellion and it was amazing! The pulled pork stack was spot on. The tomahawk was delicious too. The staff were super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The cocktails were fantastic, especially the mad hatters mojito. Definitely a place to check out if you want great food and drinks!

Really disappointed with the standard of food and service we received. Firstly we were waiting 35 minutes for our drinks for them to Come back to the table and said they forgot the order so we needed to order again, waiting another 10 minutes. The starter's were served different to what was stated on the menu and the excuse we got was that the menu had been changed but there was no apology or replacement. The mains were missing items and not at all what we’d were expecting at all especially for the price of everything. The waitress and what I guess is the manager had no care in the world and had faces like thunder. One waitress was even rolling a cigarette right in front of us while we were eating mains. As locals it has put us off coming back. Even when we mentioned it there was no sorry and no compensation whatsoever, they were not bother at all. Disappointed is an understatement.

I must confess, my feelings on this particular visit were more mixed than a hobbit's breakfast on an empty pantry day. Upon my arrival, the staff seemed as uncertain as a dwarf in an elf's garden about finding me a table, but thankfully, they did. Seated at last, my thoughts turned eagerly to a refreshing drink. Alas, the menu stared back at me for what felt like the length of two elevenses, as no one came to take my order. Realizing that a food order was being handled at the bar, I trudged over, asking for cider and food, only to be directed to wait for the colleague who manages both food and drink orders. The drink maker seemed as slow as an ent's storytelling and the only one that day to be handling the drinks. After standing behind another patron—who, by the way, was ordering for an outside table—I attempted to place my order. The waitress, however, sent me back to my inside table with promises to come and take my order there. On my way back, I saw what seemed to be a pint of cider, only to be told it wasn’t mine, and mine would take a long while longer. Back at my table, doubts began to creep in about ever seeing that cider. Finally, the waitress arrived and took my order: halloumi fries, beef brisket with chips, and the long-awaited pint of cider. Other waitresses buzzed about like bees in a clover patch, delivering food and drink, yet my pint remained a distant dream. The kitchen, in full view, was a marvel. The head chef was like a wizard casting spell after spell, producing delicious-looking meals with ease. My food arrived promptly, a shining tribute to the chef's skill and the waitress's efficiency. But still, no drink for this thirsty hobbit. I watched the drink maker, with the patience of a tree root, complete many orders of 5 and 6 drinks, but not mine. By the time my cider finally arrived, I had finished my halloumi fries and was halfway through my beef brisket. The long wait cast a shadow over my otherwise delightful meal. Had I known, I would have delayed my food order, preferring to savor a drink before starting my feast. Despite the wait, the food was a triumph. The halloumi fries were thick and golden, the beef brisket tender and succulent, and even the chips—typically not my favorite—were crisp and tasty. The waitress jested about me leaving some, but I nearly devoured the lot. In conclusion, the food and cider at Rebellion Roast House were as splendid as a Shire harvest festival, and some of the staff were as friendly as a warm hearth. Yet, the sluggish drink service was a disappointment, especially for a lone hobbit seeking solace in a pint. While the positives were plenty, this flaw prevents me from giving a perfect rating.

Buttermilk chicken burger was delicious & my partner had Sunday pork roast, the only disappointing thing was that their Sunday menu which they have on their website has clearly not been updated as when we were given the paper version in the restaurant there was a few dishes missing, but overall had a good experience. This place is incredible! Honestly, the Brisket barely required a fork let alone a knife! The Chips and some their gravy was soooo good. Also, try the coleslaw! The cheese cake was amazing. Best part of all was the service folks and the cook. Totally top drawer!!💯

Was here on a Saturday for my mum's birthday, food was perfect! Our server, Lazlo was great! The overly drunk stag do made for an interesting challenge for the kitchen and wait staff but they handled it well, delivering a great, professional service that we were very happy with!

It was our first time dining at Rebellion and it will most certainly be our last. Although the waiting staff were quick to move us away from a leary stag party on the next table, it was unfortunately not enough to compensate for the poor service. After waiting 2 hours for food it was pretty much impossible to turn our opinion of this restaurant around. The service was so poor, we even served our own drinks that had been left at the bar... twice! Maybe we caught it on a bad night, but what is for sure, is the staff working at the resturant had no sense of urgency.

Took 20 mins to get 3 drinks - they weren’t cheap either …… wasn’t busy no real excuse to be honest. Pity we would have had food there but it put us off.

We had 6 meals for a birthday and all were very low standard We have been going here as locals ever since it opened and has always been good, not this time. The chicken on the chicken burgers was stuff you would get in the frozen section in Aldi and warmed up. The pulled pork burger was just sloppy pulled pork on a bap which went soggy and the beef brisket bland fatty and bland. We mentioned it to the waitress and she informed us that they had got a new head chef who’s re done the menu. We will never go back there again, shocking

Not sure if it's changed ownership recently but it wasn't the same excellent experience we've had in the past. I ordered the slow cooked beef, last time it was a huge stack of meat on the plate, but this time it was just a few strips of beef. Also we had been there for just over an hour when we asked for some cocktails but we were told we would have to drink them in the lounge area because they needed the table soon. The lounge was full so we left feeling very under valued. I don't think we will return again which is a shame because it was our favourite restaurant in Newquay.

First off big shout out to mark... Absolutely fantastic at what he does... Couldn't of done more. This place we love.. I had the pork tomahawk and wow I was not disappointed.. friendly service and great seating outside and inside. Just sad it wasn't open most of the time we were away here. Will absolutely come back. As others say, it used to be our goto place. Visited yesterday with family. I wish we hadn't bothered.. Despite various staff staring at us and blatantly ignoring us at the door, we still decided to stay. Eventually, someone came over and sat us down, and then ignored us for a further 25 minutes, which may have been understandable, if busy, but we were the only table on the bar side. Ordered drinks 15 minutes later, received our drinks. If it wasn't for the rest of the party, I would have just walked out and gone somewhere else. The food has always been excellent over the years, sorry to say the food was really disappointing. Ordered brisket and received top side of beef with no explanation, certaintly wasnt the menu option as described. No replacement for gluten-free. Previously, all the veg was gluten-free, gravy thin as water, and tastless. I did complain and received a discount however what has happened to this place, it was so good. Don't give discounts. Just provide good service and good food. Sorry to say we won't be returning.

This used to be my favourite place to eat in Newquay. Don't get me wrong, the food is gorgeous, staff are friendly, decor is lovely. I was however disappointed with what I was given compared to my last visit. The photo shows what I had previous to what I got this time. Delicious but portion size was skimpy.

Had an Easter roast which was amazing and service was excellent

We have eaten here on many occasions and I used to say it was my favourite place for a roast dinner. Today we went as a large family for Easter and all chickens had blood coming out of it and the lamb was blue (basically not cooked just seared for seconds and it was never mentioned this was the case with the lamb and obviously should never be the case with chicken!) we made the staff aware but was not approached by who I assume was the manger for quite some time to apologise or acknowledge what's happened and was left to a young lad to sort it all out, we then had to wait ages to discuss the bill at the end and then only offered a few drinks free even though the second time around of recooking many of the dishes some of the chicken roasts still had blood oozing out to which we were told this is acceptable! Overall the worst food I've eaten in 16 years in Cornwall and really poor management. The discounted bill even had a dish we ordered but to be told they didn't have once serving all the dinners, still on the discounted bill!! Very sad to say after many good meals here this experience has put us off for good. What a shame. Could have been handled in a much more professional manner with a realistic bill based on the poor food and service we had, but this was not the case.

Booked this for my husbands birthday, we’ve never been before and had heard good things. We were seated quickly and had our order taken. Two steaks and a vegetarian roast. 30 minutes later the steaks arrived, had to chase fries and onion rings, 5 minutes later fries arrived, we were told they had no onion rings. Vegetarian roast arrived with no cauliflower cheese or gravy (as advertised on the menu) chased and was brought beef gravy, queried and was told 10 minutes later there was no vegetarian gravy, sent the meal back as wasn’t appetising without gravy. The manager then came over to apologise and said he would sort it out, 20 minutes later he brought the same, now rock hard over cooked roast out with no gravy, asked where the gravy was, 10 minutes later a pale “off the cuff” gravy was brought over by this time we’d lost the will to live and sent the food back. So many great places to eat in Newquay, this is not one of them, would not recommend

With my boyfriend we went in to Rebellion at 7.45 pm and asked for table for 2. The place was half empty. The waiter at the door said that they are closing at 7 pm. We passed the place by car at 9 pm and they were still open. Absolute disgrace this place is.

From the moment we walked into Rebellion, we felt welcome. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. We had cocktails to start, which were very nice, followed by the cheapest bottle of red on the menu £23 (shiraz), which had been chosen especially well for the menu and was again very nice. The food was excellent, I had the beef brisket with mash. Fantastic. I finished strong with a cheesecake and ice cream. Fantastic evening, even the toilets were clean and fresh smelling 👌 Top marks, looking forward to our return visit.

Fantastic food. We had the slow-cooked beef brisket and it was amazingly good. Very helpful staff. They will now be a regular visit every time we are on holiday in Cornwall. Highly recommended. Seriously, it is worth every penny.

My wife, Beatrix and I attended Rebellion in Newquay this evening, for our St. Valentine's day supper. It was sensational. Not only was the food utterly delicious, and the cocktails splendid, but the waiting staff were superb. We even thought the cutlery and crockery were excellent, as Beatrix is blind and they were very VIP-friendly. We had visited this restaurant about four times over the last three years and it has never failed to impress. Definitely our favourite eatery in Newquay and can highly recommend. Well done!

Great food, good drinks. Can be expensive.

We loved everything about this place. The service, the food (can't recommend the brisket enough) and the cocktails were absolutely fantastic. Our waitress was extremely friendly and recommended the ginger sour cocktail to me and i'm so glad she did it tasted absolutely beautiful. Will definitely visit again. Some of the reviews complain about the wait for cocktails but a lot of them aren't easy ones to make and the wait was more than worth it for the taste.

Man with the spider web tattoo on elbow served us, was so lovely and polite. Good sense of humour too. Very attentive. All the staff were great. And the food was incredible, we had the steak and brisket and cocktails. 100/10.

Party of 4 had the 3 course Christmas menu roast. Wow, wow wow! Food amazing. Staff brilliant. A first class experience all round. Thankyou!

Food amazing staff a bit all over the place but we'll worth a visit

Totally impressed by the warm, cosy inviting environment. Staff were brilliant, food was excellent.

Visited on a Friday night with family. We booked a table which is just as well. I doubt we would have been able to just walk in. Really slow service to begin with – took an age to get some menus and drinks. OK, it was very busy but they need to work a little harder to at least give people something to drink while they are waiting! Things settled down a bit after that – service was more attentive and the food was served in good time – no real delays with the kitchen The food was delicious. Macaroni Cheese Balls to start; Rack of Ribs and Mussels for mains – the ribs melted in the mouth! Would definitely return but the service needs to improve a little! I’d still recommend as the atmosphere and food were excellent - oh, and the moonshine is superb!!

The food would’ve been lovely had I not been interrupted whilst eating by the manager who decided to give me a lecture on my parenting! Didn’t eat my food due to being so shocked, disappointed & angry & will definitely never return. Maybe only come here if you haven’t got kids!

Food is really good, really well cooked and lots of it. Unfortunately the speed of service is very poor, took us over 20minutes to get 1st drink and this also happened the previous time we were there, so not a one off.

Typical US type food ribs, burgers etc. Quite noisy & maybe fun if you're young but I wouldn't want to go there again. I had a bad tummy the next day but it may not have been the restaurant.

Meal was nice but the same as most smoke houses. Service was quite slow but I don't know if this was that particular day or just how it is normally. Lots of people here so atmosphere was good

When we went to the restaurant we were greeted and sat down immediately which was good. However the waitress was rude and had a very standoffish attitude which made the experience not as nice as we would like. We then saw all of the foh staff eating and walking around and eating and then serving food without washing their hands. As I work in hospitality and I think this is disgusting and made me not want to eat here again unfortunately. The food was good.
